Earbud headphone recommendations - General Accessories

Santa thought I was a good boy this year and brought me a bluetooth handsfree that you can plug your own headphones into (Jabra BT3030 'Dogtag'). The headphones that come with it are, and let's be charitable here, terrible. The frequency range is totally messed up with vocal tones being subdued and overwhelmed by music.
When I plug in my other "adequate" headphones, they are "good enough". "Good enough" is a huge improvement over "terrible", but I want "WOW!"
I'm asking what earbud headphones people recommend. The only provisos are that they must have a 3.5mm jack and cost less than £20.

You won't find a lot of good earphones for 20 quid, but a decent pair of earphones around that price are the Sennheiser CX300's.

http://mp4nation.net/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=62_69&products_id=390
These easily beat out $150 earphones, and they're having a special right now. If you like their page on Facebook, they're on sale for $30 usd, which puts it right at the 20 GBP mark you're looking for. I own these, and I'm absolutely amazed by the sound. Check Head-fi.org if you want more reviews.

They better than ATH CKM55?

The Soundmagic pl50s are amazing if you're willing to splurge a little.
Otherwise, the pl30 should fall right within your price range and offer great sound and decent build quality/ accessories..
I think mp4nation mentioned above carries the entire soundmagic line, apart ftom the mp21s which also sport a mic..

my skullcandy titans do the job perfectly.

Add Nationite N2 8GB Hi-Fi MP3 Player($84.50) and Brainwavz M2 In-Ear Headphones (Black) ($59.50) to Amazon Cart and you get Brainwavz M2 for free.

I use some Sennheiser HD202's with my Vodafone 845 (and laptop and everything else that uses a 3.5mm connector).....the only problem is is that they have a 3m cable and cost £35....

Plus one on the HD 202 Senns if you don't mind the bulk, you can frequently find them for under 20gbp in local electronics chains (What's the welsh equivalent of Saturn and Mediamarkt? ).
Another great set from Sennheiser are the PX100s (which coincidentally beat the more expensive px200 and px250), should be in the 30-40 pound range though..
The Sennheiser CX300 and ATH ckm55 are both good sets in the <50 pound section, but still, most people in the head-fi forums swear over the soundmagic IEM headphones in this range.
All in all, first decide if you want In Ear or standard headphones.. In the 20gbp range, you can get great headphones by Sennheiser and Sony, but i find them tiring as they won't fit my ears and isolate well enough.
IEMs give the best isolation and there are some true gems like the pl/mp21 and pl30 in that range, as well as way better sets if you raise your budget a bit.
Open headphones like the HD202 are an acquired taste, you either love them or hate them as looks and comfort goes, but offer the richest sound for that pricerange (but be prepared to annoy everyone around you).
Whatever you do, try to avoid ebay. Mp4nation is an ok site, focalprice less so. The creative and sennheisers in there are most likely clones, so, if it seems too cheap, it probably ain't legit.

I had the V-Moda Vibe earbud headphones. They were great while they lasted, as I'm not gentle with my earphones. Sound was great, good price ($27 USD on Amazon) and they come in a decent selection of colors, though they all look good.

Headphone with mic. for vibrant

I need headphone with good sound quality
What is your budget?
Without breaking the bank, I like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Woodees-IESW100B-Inner-ear-Earphone-Microphone/dp/B001U612R8
If money is no object, get this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Ears-Isolating-Earphones-Microphone/dp/B001DCBBHK
I personally own both, except the TripleFi's I have do not have a mic. Superb sound.
My budget is 30$
But I need headphone with mic.
The two links provided have mics but cost more than $30. If you have a TJ Max or Marshals in your area, they will have a variety in the $20 range. Radio Shack will have some Sonys or Auvios in the $30 range. I just do not know if you area going to find great sounding with a mic for $30.
On my vibrant, I cant even use headphones with a mic. Anytime i do, it randomly starts and stops the music...

I need Samsung original headset (in ear) but from where I can buy it ?
You can find original samsung headset with mic on ebay. They are original and cost $21. Plus they have a very good sound quality
Is anyone else bothered at the fact that is not acknowledging any of the posts so far?
Thanks for replying
I was under the impression that an upgrade was desired. For Samsung options, this place has them cheap. I can attest they are a reliable dealer.

I said something similar in another post, but Amazon has some very high quality mic'd in-ear monitors (correct term for in-ear headphones, apparently) for $49.99. On an audiophile review site, they were rated a 9/10 value buy... when they were $80. They're the MEElectronics CC51P in white (black is still set at $85. Don't ask me why.) I've used the non-mic'd versions and the sound quality was amazing, even when moving from a pair of Klipsch S4s.
Only catch is the cable, while good, is typical of most in-ear monitors. Namely, a little thing. The rest of the MEElectronics line has much thicker, more resilient wiring, but they also have mic problems.

What are a good durable pair of headphones for running?
Skullcandy's are always duriable and sound great!
No skullcandy's aren't great at all!

I can't agree with that. Have you ever compared a skullcandy headphone to some other headphones in the same price range? It's just a good brandname but it has no sound quality.
For running i would recommend a bluetooth headset (dispite the lose of sound quality). I would recommend the AKG K830BT. I tested this with some other BT-headphones from philips, sony and sennheiser. I was overwhelmed by the amazing sound that came from the AKG headphone! Never imagined it would be posible to get such great music quality over bluetooth.
Beats by Dr dre but quality increases the price..

Koss plug, sound great and are cheap ......,..
hit thanks ...it's free!
I wouldn't use full headphones for running. Use plugs. But, Sony's Studios are pretty good, and you can get them for like 20 bucks at an electronic store near you
I love my Klipsch S4a image for general listening, and i go with seinheiser addidas (whichever one you like) for running.
Klipsches are great for the money.
Get Sennheiser CX250's....i believe thats the number at least...they are supposed to be 90 bucks but for some reason FYE sells them for 20. I have those and Beats In-Ears and I can attest that they are almost identical in terms of quality/bass/loudness, but for a fraction of the price.
skullcandies aren't durable but they are good, i would get the type they sell at sport authority that are meant for running.
beats is grossly overpriced, nobody should own beats that is interested in audio quality, they are for looks only
Sennheiser HD25's mate... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-...CGH6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1329254193&sr=8-4
Best headphones I've ever used - they make beats seem crap!
Not a bad price either considering they're what nearly all sound engineers use, you've probs seen camera men using them on tv
Klipsche, as said before are great, I owned a pair of S4's and they were very good for my morning runs as they are so small yet have a great fit
However, they somewhat lacked in sound quality, I opted for a pair of Zion midnight earphones from the New Marley range for $130 CND dollars and these do the job for me, also the Braided lead eliminates that 'thudding' sound when hitting against you during a run.

Sennheiser and Beats by Dr. Dre. Any brand is a great choice!
Don't have a specific recommendation but I'm against buying these brands, brands I feel spend more on advertisement, style, and status than r&d.
1. Bose
2. Beats
3. Skullcandy
Beats are horrible for the price.
Skullcandy in general is horrible.
Bose is overpriced Hype.
Check Head-fi.org for real headphones.
I have Beyerdynamics 880 250ohm, they sound great but are not for portable use.
I have some budget portable headphones from monoprice.
Check out these reviews. I personally love the $7.11 8320s. The DJ headphones are nice but they can't compare to my Beyerdynamic 880.

I'm gonna try these for working out and possible mountain-biking........ a friend had them and let me use them, sounded great and easy to use.
Sony PIIQ line, almost any Shure buds, V-Moda. I'd go for a cheap pair if I were you, just so you don't cry over it when it breaks.
Koss Porta Pro is the best headphone I had so far. Further more it's classic.
Skullcandy? Bose? Beats?
Are you trolling?
It all depends on what you want for a sound. For all-around sounds I'd advise you to get Sennheiser cx300s, they're all-around ok.
If you don't care about spending a bit more money I'd recommend you to check out head-fi.org, they're the pros and can give you more in-depth advice.

Best high end earphones for mobile use

Hey
For those not wanting to miss good music quality while they're not at home, I started this thread.
1. Use Poweramp or another music player from the Play Store. The standard Players often don't have a multi-channel equalizer, so these programms are worth their price.
2.Good in ear-earphones cost more than 150$. So don't have long pockets and short arms.
I made very good experiences with Shure Headphones. They start at around 100$
but you can also spend 500$ if you are audiophile.
I bought the Shure SE315 for around 160$ and im very contended.
Please share your Experiences with other brands or models here. Thank you.

Westone 1 Use with the Grey Memory foam, comfy, low profile, the best overall for me daily IEM and motorcycle IEM, great for all genres of music... Country to dubstep = ) or Yanni to Cradle of filth... so basically everything- Good seal = awesome sound some of the other inserts that came with it didn't seal as well and wasn't impressed at first.
Shure EC5 Most $$$ Awesome, Huge Size, Best Sounding IEM I have ever used!!!
Shure SE215 Not bad Bassy, lack of overall Mid and High CLARITY- Comfy
Senheiser Adidas MX 680 Great for running/exercising- Overall a flat EQ w/bass hint
Sony EX310 Great sound hated the overall fit to clunky...
Klipsch S4 HATED THESE? OMG why do they get good reviews??? AHH!!!
I saw the thread you started in the i9000 forum. Does Poweramp interact directly with the DAC? I believe Voodoo Sound skips the Android channel mixer, using the i9000's Wolfson DAC chip directly. The sound is amazing. I use it straight no equalizer (personal prefs), but you can salt+pepper to taste with DSP Manager. This seriously made the i9000 the best portable media player I've ever owned. Bonus that I don't need a headphone amp, too.
I used to have a bad headphone habit. I'm pared down to three now, and only two get regular use. $100-$150 is a good benchmark, but don't neglect the handful of great headphones under $50. There's other threads about that in Android and i9000 accessories, but my faves in that category are the Koss Porta Pros, Sennheiser PX200, and the discontinued Sennheiser MX500. They started a new line, and I'm using Senn's MX471s for daily beater headphones now, and they sound great after burn-in. In that in-between period, a lot of people seemed to switch over to the Yuin PK3.
In the upper end, I love the Sennheiser HD25-1. It's one of the standards for TV/radio news for its great clarity and noise-blocking. There's a great little company out of Brooklyn, too -- Grado, for open headphones. They did a collaboration with another 'boutique' hi-fi shop, Allessandro, and made some great headphones. I have the MS-1 and it doesn't get as much love as it should. Way more airy + super clear mids and highs, and you can hear amazing separation of instruments. The HD25-1 is good there too, with a stronger but clear bass.

looking for a good priced pair of headphones for use in a office environment. Need something that will block out noise from other conversations etc but provide a cd quality or better listening experience.
Really wanna go bluetooth but cant find much.
Also would prefer them to fit over the ear.
Could you guys help me find a pair?

I used to use the Senn PX200 and then the HD25-1 in an office to block out noise, sometimes not even plugged into anything. Both are great headphones. The HD25 is now called the HD25-1 II, and *should not* be confused with the cheaper HD-25SP. For a little more on the 25-1, you get a lot.
The stock earbuds that come with the Gnex aren't half bad. SHURE makes great earbuds.
Agree with Shure. I'm in love with my SE215.
I love my ibeats

Sennheiser makes good earphones
i can't belive someone brought beats into this thread, but i use sol republic amps HD when out and about and sennheiser something at home
Tough mission
I'm still waiting for a good mobile headphones. The problem is you can't try them before buying so it makes the searching efforts frustrating.
i was able to try those earbud beats and they are good. They're mainstream and sometimes an eyesore seeing everyone wearing them, but in the end of the day, you want some good sounds, the beats can help you with that.

I kind of disagree with this statement.
Good in ear-earphones can easily be bought for 80euros (or around 100$) and up. I am currently owning Sennheiser in-ears for around 60 Euros (don't ask me about the model)
Also Klipsch does high quality in-ears for a very reasonable price.
Secondly, it highly depends on your Hardware. My Desire doesn't serve as a decent MP3 player at all, as you can hear so much interference with the antenna.
Arrow Best high end earphones for mobile use
nokia earphones and samsung are of high quality
Skull crusher from Skull Candy. its very good earphones!!
i will buy when i have the money
I like the Marshall Major headphones, really good heaphones in my opinion. I`ve just got them today!

IEM earpiece

I'm sure most of you guys own a decent earpiece for your phone's entertainment.
Let's list out your babies here!!
*I don't have one yet, but I got my eye on Beyerdynamic XP3 and going to get it soon, or I'll appreciate it if one of you guys can recommend me some other IEM earpiece at that price range*
I recently got some Sennheiser CX150s because I was on a budget and they're my second pair of headphones (I have over-the-ear ones but wanted a pair that was more portable too).
If I'd been able to justify it, I would have gone for MEElectronics' A151. But with the CX150s on sale for $17, I just couldn't make myself. :silly:
I've got Shure SE215's as well as Bowers&Wilkins P5 on-ears. The Shure's get more use despite being 1/3 the msrp (I didn't have to pay retail for my P5's), because I find the sound to be more balanced for my tastes.
I am using my stock LG earphones..
I got ATH-T500 for my laptop and I'm truly satisfied with it.
Going to consider myself of spending roughly same budget on an IEM earpiece.
I've tried some Sennheiser headphones, they sound great with reasonable price, but am not sure about their IEM...
Same goes to Audio Technica, although my babe is one of them, but I heard that their IEM are like sh*t...
Seen a lot of Shure though, but I never get any hands on with them... guess that it's time to pay audio store a visit.

Original headset that comes with the phone.

Is anyone who willing to sell there Original HOX headset that comes with the phone please massage me.
Or can you send some links where to buy this.
P.S.- I tried the eBay but the most sellers don't post it to my country. I'm in Sri Lanka by the way.

Oh my God I can't agree with you more! I wasn't even paying attention to this subforum and I decided to buy Sennheiser CX 175 which is fairly cheap, reasons I went for this is I wanted to get rid of original headset that came with One X and wanted something with at least a "bit" better sound.. another reason being I was rather short on cash and I instisted on Sennheiser because I already have Sennheiser HD 380 pro which I use for post production (so really high end) so I felt safe with the brand. I bought the CX 175 in-ear headphones and man, IF I HAD THE MONEY I SWEAR I WOULD PAY AT LEAST TWO TIMES THEIR PRICE. These little nasties are quite comparable to the professional HD 380 pro, with slightly louder bass (but not as defined as HD 380 pro) which some consumers will find as a plus, some as a minus, depending on what you listen to.. I listen to electro house, dubstep and some trance so a greater bass really does the job for me... and highs are good and loud too, although they also lack a little bit of definition when compared to its brother for professional uses.. but really, stereo image for example is PERFECT.. put on a song with a lot of acoustic guitar and you'll hear the magic.
Also, the isolation is just perfect as well, you really won't be able to hear a whole lot of outside with these headphones on, even without playing music.
For its price of 30-35 euros, it definitely outmatches most if not all of headphones in the same or even higher price range.
P.S. DininduDS, if you decide to stick with the original handset, I can send you mine absolutely free. Though considering you're in Shri Lanka I guess shipment needs to be paid or something?

Type in the google sennheiser cx300 best in ear headphones out there, for bout 30$, unfortunately they haven't got a mic. if you need headphones with mic, your choice widens up. i would recommend one of those:
Nocs NS400 or NS200. a-Jays one +, RHA MA450i, Sennheiser cx275s all arround 60$.
I myself went for sony mw600 together with sennheiser cx 300, will buy Nocs or RHA with next opportunity.
