Crazy battery usage after OTA 1.72.405.3 How to find out what is going wrong? - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
After instaling OTA 1.72.405.3 the android system is eating away my battery like crazy.
After 5 hours my battery was down to 29% (71% was used) and the android system was responsible for 60% of this. In my CurrentWidget log I can see that (with the phone in standby) it uses ~130 mA to ~160 mA.
Does anybody know what is going on or can anybody help me by telling how to find out what is going on?
[edit: If you have the same problem, please post a reply so we can find out if this is a big problem! Thx]

This happened to me yesterday! Found out that the system process had pegged out the CPU @ 100%
I couldn't fix it, and in the end restored to factory settings. Has been OK today but I killed the battery in about 4 hours.

Radio and kernel updated?

yes, i have the same problem! i posted another thread about it (titled constant sync after OTA update) as i first noticed the issue when the sync icon was always being displayed.
today my battery hit 20% after 6 hours with android system taking up 50% of the battery usage. its ridiculous!
if anyone has a workaround or a quick fix please post it up - this is untenable!

I have exactly the same issue, no problem with battery life before the latest OTA, and now the phone is dead within 8 hours with no usage, simply in the pocket with the display off.
Not happy at all, the phone is virtually unusable at the moment as any action accelerates the drain.

Strange! My phone is now with more battery life, after the update. It is SIM free ...

I posted this in another thread -
There seems to be a bug in the update for anyone who had HTCSense.com sync'ing turned on. Either disable all sync'ing for that and / or sign out of that account. It was consuming 100% of my CPU cycles and keeping the processor at the 1ghz mark. Once I disabled the HTCSense.com sync and rebooted the phone, all is good. I went from 100% CPU usage to about 4% and less when idle.
Personally, I'm not sure about HTCSense.com anyways. Way to buggy. I have all my SMS's backed up with SMSBackup+ to my Gmail and my contact / calendar is on Google. I've Wave Secure to lock down the phone if needs be / to find it. I think it's more reliable as well as I used to get a lot of "can't connect to the phone" on HTCSense.com and Wave secure uses at Text Message based system to activate the necessary features along with locking down the phone if the sim is removed / replaced! NICE!
Anywho, anyone who is having battery problems / finding the CPU is topepd at 100% try the above and see!!

I followed up with this:
I must say, I'm quite impressed with the battery life since the update (after I got rid of the 100% CPU bug).
I plugged the phone out at 11am this morning. Quite heavy texts (50+ sent today and at least that received). 10+ calls (incoming and out going) at 3-10mins each. Some Angry Birds, Some Market Updates. Disconnected my Facebook Acc and reconnected to cure a bug in the calendar (facebook entries were there twice), so all that data had to reload. Twitter usage through out the day. WiFi on all day. GPRS Radio only.
Now at 12.15am (so over 13 hours later), I've still got 50% Battery left! I would NEVER have gotten that previously. Not with the heavy use I gave it today.
How are other people finding it!?

Thanks for that. I dont really use any of the sense features myself so i've now disabled sense syncing completely and will see how it goes (once its fully charged again!). will keep this thread updated with any news from my end in any case.

I did notice the sync logo was up quite a bit... interesting!
Mine did it randomly... couldn't clear it so just went for factory reset which appears to have fixed it!
May turn of HTCSense however if it is likely to be causing problems...

I got the same Battery problem after new OTA and Im going crazy! What can I do? My battery lasts only about 4 hours now!!!!!!
Should I factory reset and wipe everything???

As ive posted in a few other threads i went into stock application manager and force closed everything i could to do with google, htc , friendstream, maps, facebook etc. After that my cpu 100% problem stopped, has never returned and battery life has improved compared to before the update.

I have disabled now HTCSense.com sincronization. I will see how this works tomorrow for me. I will let you know guys

I had htcsense.com enabled but to be frank I never really used it much...
disabled its syncing (every 3 hours I had set), rebooted, still had "android system" at ~65% and htc sense running at about 15% (tell me, I use launcher pro 99% of the time, is there any way to actually kill the sense ui? I swear its in the background)...
This did nothing, I tried actually removing the account, and even before a reboot the proc. usage dropped down to about 15%, which was apparently being used by the monitor I use (osmonitor). rebooted, let the phone settle, it did a sync, all seems well... So in my case an actual removal of the account was needed.

Try turning USB debugging on/off. I have it off after the last OTA and I have no /INIT problems. Maybe they fixed it...

I had the same problem, with the cpu running constantly at 100%. For me the solution was to remove the HTC Sense account, and then adding it again. After this the cpu usage dropped to normal.

well its been nearly 4 hours unplugged and i'm down to around 80% with around 30m of calls made and a dozen texts. not fantastic, but much better then before.

Did you try USB debugging? previously that has been mentioned as the CPU eater and battery hogger... just a thought..

Confirmed. I had the same exact problem and removing HTC Sense account did the trick.
I tried adding it again, but the cpu drain started again..... so I'll use it for some time without SenseSync.

well it seems i spoke too soon. i've just woken up to find that the battery died overnight. so sometime in the last 9 hours i've lost 80% battery whilst it has been on standby.
prateekgujral, i currently have usb debugging turned ON due to the /init problem. are you suggesting that i turn it off?

Android System eating the battery

Hey all, I don't know if anyone has even noticed on their Evo's but on mine, the Android system usually eats most of the battery. I noticed there is a ton of processes under Android system that are running compared to like five on my Hero. I've never seen the core system processes take up more than maybe 15% of the battery, but right now, I'm at like 41% with 16m 6s of CPU total and 47s of CPU foreground. If anyone knows why this is or a way to fix it, please let me know. I'm on the first MR update. I've been able to get a lot of battery stuff figured out, if I can get the system to calm down, then I should be able to get even better battery life than my Hero.
I'm seeing the same thing, android system is at 96% battery use after letting the phone sit overnight. Never saw that on my nexus, this is strange.
Could be related to the fact that everything is syncing up, I just activated last night too.
-------------------------------------
Sent via the XDA Tapatalk App
Yeah, the system seems to have calmed down a bit today, though I also have the OC widget running to keep the processor lower during sleep. I'm guessing its helping, but I'm not sure if there is something else to get it down. I almost never even saw the System show up in usage on my Hero, now its one of the top contributers. I got used to having custom roms on the Hero, but so far all I need on the Evo is unrevoked. I know a lot of people around here don't like it, but I found I only needed a couple of apps that require root and so far love it. That OC widget really comes in handy.
maybe i can clear things up a little bit for you guys...what you see in the battery use section is distributed across 100% of the time since you last had it plugged in. if you notice all the percentage numbers add up to 100%.
if you plug your phone in and turn it on and off on you will see that android system is probably around the 90's thats because android system has used 90+ percent of the phone since you plugged it in....over time that number will lower, becuase other things will start using the battery power... what you see is a percentage based on time. not based on whats actually working RIGHT THEN AND THERE do you guys understand?
I too am having that problem and at 15% battery life warning - it still shows my Android system @ 40-44% usage after 8hrs of work.
I mostly text message all day long due to work - make phone calls and recieve calls from work every hour. GPS on for no more than 15min all day long to get direction when my keymap book doesnt help.
4g off, bluetooth off, background data 15 min only (gps) than off, gps off when not in use, mobile network (3g) off when not in use.
I would have figured my screen being on would have drained my battery life since I check text message every 10-15mins for 8hrs...
So went to work at 9am, 100% life
got off work 6pm, 25% life
I've done all the tricks, cdma only, force stopped a bunch of apps, goggle talk off, sync off, making sure maps/gps has been closed (forced or not)
still disappointed with battery life.
Unrooted Evo
My crappy AT&T Razr lasts me 2-3days with text message + call + 1.5hr of playing Bejeweled a day
*facepalm* you guys don't get it....

check your hardware version there is a thread about different types of evos and it seems like everyone who has the hardware revision 0001 has really bad battery life. i would exchange your device.
Yes we know, Freelancerx, or at least I do. But after over 8 hours and the system is still using more of the battery than anything else is a little disturbing. Never seen that on any other device. I have Hardware 0002.
I have this same issue with hardware version 0002. I run Fresh 1.0.1, i use Netarchy-toastmod kernal, have latest radio. I have also tried Damage Control (did get slightly better battery life out of DC but not amazingly different)
after 7 hrs since unplugged my andriod system is at 39%, cell standby 28% phone idle 20% display 9%.
i dont have bluetooth, wifi or 4g on. I use juicedefender+ultimate to turn off apn when screen is not on. I use set CPU to underclock when i am unplugged and go down to 128 when screen off and i am Stilll lucky if i make it all day with moderate usage.
Every day it is the same andrioid system is around 40% of the usage for the time it was unpluged.
the following is listed under included packages (not sure if this shows the same for everyone or if it shows what packages are running)
BRCMBluetoothService - Bluetooth is not on so if it shows packages running this may be an issue
Sync Feeds - I have all android syncs off and mail at 6 hours
settings storage
Rosie Utility
Acounts & syync
Account and sync settings
settings
HTC Widget Download Manager
Network Location
Setup
HTC Checkin service
Checkin serivce
VPN services
Android system
Wonder if there is something to the android system on these (ie something not turning off that should) or if we are all just crazy and happen to get the same results.
I had a hardware 0002 model and often experienced the same thing with high system % usage.
My phone was replaced, due to a screen issue, and now I have the 0003 model and seems system % is much lower so far.
I haven't installed any system update yet, so I am on the first original release rom (not rooted yet).
Going to be testing it for a few days before I update and root, so I can make a fair comparison between the original and current oem's.

I think everyone here understands this. the question i think we are trying to figure out is why with similar usage and configurations some people get 40-60% android systems usage while others get 10% over the same period of time.
Android system is way too high.

Yes but if it is configured in an optimal way then android system is always beneath cell standby and phone idle.
For example, today after 15h 28m 23s since unplugged I have...
Cell stanby 38%
Phone idle 37%
Android System.....12%
That is with background processing with auto syncing every hour or so.

[Q] Gingerbread huge battery drain

This seems strange.Yesterday after upgrading to gingerbread ( with the RUU because the OTA didn't work for me) I got a huge battery drain.Over the night I got a loose of 40% and now only 3 hours after unplugged and lost 20%.
I only took a few pictures and a phone call.
Only few apps installed since i got this rom since only yesterday.
Anybody experienced this and is there a fix?
Hello,
I can confirm this.
I have also a high battery drain with ALL Android 2.3.* ROMs.
I use the recommend Radio for each ROM and I've checked the RIL to be sure the Radio is correct. But doesn't matter, current in StandBy is between 30 and 50mA.
Only if I turn off WLAN and Mobile Intenet, then I have normal values between 3 and 5mA.
With FroYo I can leave WLAN and Mobile Internet enabled and I had 3-5mA in StandBy
It could not be an application, because I've tried this with a fresh install without Google account to avoid the installation of external apps.

you'd have to edit the build.prop and change the rescan time from 15 seconds to 30, 60, 90 or 120 (or whatever you perfer the rescan intercal to be at)

Try resetting the battery stats by doing the whole charge, lead out, charge, turn off, charge etc. thing.
Also, whilst not a stock RUU I did find it took a few days for the battery drain to calm down a bit. First instal lowest was around 50mA but adfter a fe days it went down to 4-5mA.

Thank you for your help
What does that value do?
Is that the rescan value of WLAN?
The current stays high even if WLAN is off and mobile internet is on.
Only if both are disabled I get a low StandBy current.

After a few days? How many days do you mean? 2, 3, 4, 5 days?

But why this problem does not exist on froyo?

Unknown. It's not 100% due to GingerBread as I've only seen a handful of people complain of this issue (relatively speaking). I see more people saying how much better their battery life is after the update than saying it's poorer.
Doesn't help I know but makes me believe that this is maybe a Network / Radio issue in that the new Radio with GB does not play well with the Network. We had this a few times on the HTC Hero.
Ok...i have airplane mode on for about 2 days.in those 2 days i almost didn't use the phone and got only a 7% lose.As soon as i used the camera(recorded around 15 min) it got down to 50% .
I will test it tonight widought airplane mode on and see the resoults. Also wifi seems to a lot of battery in comparance to froyo.

I haven't noticed these problems with CM7. I got 2.5-3 hours per 1% of drain in standby using juice defender.
If you are finding that turning off data etc is fixing the problem use juice defender. Even the free version will help a lot as it will stop your phone using data willynilly and instead turn it to a periodic sync. With the paid version you can have it stop all together during certain periods or increase doing certain periods. Aka stoping at night and extra during busy hours at work.
Should be a good fix, though it is only covering up the underlying problem still.
Can't really recommend the app enough. With it my phone only uses data when I tell it to (like opening facebook app) or periodicaly to sync and check emails etc. I do use the paid version though for the extra features.
totally agree. i have been using juice defender for about a week. its been a big help. just bought the ultimate a few min ago. going to start customizing.
sorry that i dont have any data yet to back up my statement. maybe in a future post.

im using Leedroid 3.0.3 and i dont get any such battery drain..
tbh im getting a better battery life from GB than from froyo..
on standby currentwidget shows me between 4-7ma with wifi on... with a peak once in a while..and i lose abt 1 to 1.5% per hour
with wifi off i get about 3-5ma..
i dont use mobile data much so cant really comment on that..
try calibrating your battery and try changing the scan interval in the build.prop... i normally keep it at 90...
i never used any battery saving apps, so cant comment on their performance either...
go to wifi advanced settings and untick Best Wifi Performance... that also helps a lot!
hope you get your problem sorted
Thank you all for the help
The issue was not with gingerbread...I just left my phone one night with wifi turned on and lost 40%.But still when I was on Froyo wifi wouldn't loose so much battery. Now I loose almost 2-3% every 15 min if surfing the web with wifi.
And about changing the scan interval in the build.prop...How can I do that?Do I need root?
I'm also having battery problems, but mine are a little bit different, if I'm on wifi it uses between 3 to 5% with a peak now and then. if wifi is off and I'm on 3g, it's between 5 and 500 ma and you see only peaks if you check currentwidget. anyone a clue? working on ARHD 5.1.6 now, but problem was there since version 3
I have battery problems also, my battery dries after 1 day of use. For example this morning, I unplugged my phone full from the charger at 10 am. I went into town, listened to about 20 minutes of FM radio. When i stopped the radio, I still had 98% left of the battery. OK so far. After, I talked for about 5 minutes, sent 4 messages and played for about 15 minutes. I arrived home at 2 pm with 75% of battery left. That is 25% in 4 hours.
I was on 3G, but with Mobile network off. BT, WIFI, GPS off. A few days ago, I tried running the Battery Calibration app, but seen no improvements so far. My phone is routed, 2.3.3 and has Android Revolution HD 5.0 RC1 ROM .
I expected the battery not to last for long, but this is ridiculous.
Help me, please!
I don't know if that will help, but I sometimes switch to 2G networks as HSDPA is using quite a lot the battery.
I have a DHD running 2.3.3, and it's definitely the mobile standby bit which is first in the battery use screen (33%). It was true before 2.3xx but now it's a bit more - annoying in other words.
I have to admit, having to switch to 2G networks is a bit of a pain in the *ss, so I'll check if juice defender give me some good results tomorrow and will post a feedback there.
Maybe try AR 5.1.6. + he recommended radio. It works wonders. the battery life is improved a lot...
malik
Juice Defender works very well - with basic settings I still have 35-40% of battery by 7pm.
furstrated with the battery life...
hey guys,
so this is my first post and all i've done up until now was to read... i'm afraid not real solution has come up.
i have:
Leedroid 3.1.2 with the recommended radio and i ran the script for Full Wipe 1.5 and cleared the battery stats, i did a fresh install and then didnt restore from backup - just installed everything from scratch. i hoped it would be ok, but when i woke up to check the current widget log, i saw that in the middle of the night he climbed to 150mA and stayed there draining about a 1% of battery in 3-4 minutes (!!!)
what can i do? 'where is my droid power' shows only HTC Sense at about 3.8%
please please help... thanks!

[Q] Major Battery Drain Jelly Bean 4.2 OTA

Upgraded two GSM Nexus to 4.2 via the OTA. Both phones have major battery drain. 48% Android system usage of the battery after 20 hours. Has anyone noticed these issues? Screen shot added. Something is very odd.
Edit: when I got home I checked the wife's phone, 68% exchange services battery usage and 6+ hours of keep awake.
Nothing is odd. You're not using the device, so android uses up the rest. 100% has to be divided. Happened to me last night: android system was at 70% when i woke up - so? I hadn't been using it, so that's expected. But i only lost like 5%, WiFi on, alarm on, flashed the rom like yesterday. I will only know for sure when i install back bbs.

Same issue here with exchange services. 68% battery usage and over 6 hours of keep awake. I did a hard reset and Resetup account with 10 minute refresh instead of push. Working so far but only 9 hours in.
Frustrated that a fix was presented to Jean Baptiste in Gerrit and he said he it conflicted with AOSP. But didn't offer a fix. How is android going to compete in the corporate world with crap like this.

Hi,
I have Exchange set up for my Galaxy Nexus running jellybean 4.2, I can't recall if I had the same problem before the upgrade, but I don't see the phone numbers or other details except for the email address from my exchange account appearing on my phone. Anyone has the same problem?
why does the battery suck?
i charged my nexus up to 100 %, i unplugged it had wifi off screen dim and used it for all of 2 minutes. after 15 minutes i had lost nearly 10% of my battery life. im using the 2100 mah battery too. what can i do to make this better? my razr m lasts me almost 2 days, this phone barley gets 5 hours
I can add to this aswell. Untill last Saturday I was on 4.2.1 (Custom ROM: Codename Android). All was well, had about 2 days with one charge, using Y! and Gtalk messenger, here there exchange mail download, and some browsing, sms, calls. No background sync, no other app that syncs. All via 3g, never wi-fi.
Since I have a 4.2.2 ROM, JBSourcery 5.1 with franco kernel, i have very bad battery life. So flashed 2 different custom ROMs, made some sound and display configurations, made one sync with my Exchange. So background sync is off, 3g on, nothing else, did not use the phone AT ALL, left it on the table, and in 17hours the battery was done, 100% - 0%. What is going on ? Did not even install any apps, just to test the battery life, to see if it makes sense to remain with 4.2.2. Untill now, disappointing.
I spent a day with 2g connection, and the battery life is normal (for me), after 19h, it lost 51%. So aparently the 3g has huge battery drain. Any ideas, where to start to check ?
If:
7% battery = 15 minutes screen-on
Then:
100% battery =~ 3.6 hours screen-on
That's pretty standard for the CDMA model with the 2100 mAh extended battery.

[Q] Horrible Battery Life after 4.4.2, S3 i747M

Hey guys
So i recently updated my S3 to 4.4.2 (about 2 weeks ago) and my battery life has become completely horrible afterwards. My phone is rooted and im using the stock Telus 4.4.2 update.
Some days the battery seems ok and other days its completely terrible. Yesterday and today for example i charged up my phone over night (like ive always done), and within an hour the battery dropped about 20% and i did nothing but check the weather for today.
Someone told me there was a camera issue and to just open and close the app and that would fix that issue...... made no difference. I dont have skype installed since i heard there was a battery drain issue with that app as well.
The only thing i have running in the background constantly is WeatherBug, WidgetLocker, NiLS, & GSAM Battery Monitor (both of which i used before the update to 4.4.2). I tried rebooting into recovery mode and clearing my cache and that made no difference either.
I even use an app called Greenify to put some apps in hibernate that i dont use often.
I have location turned off (like always) and i changed all my sync settings to sync only the stuff i need (work email and contacts basically). I dont have the cloud setup to backup anything, nor do i have anything setup under Backup and Reset either (again like always).
I have very limited data so ive gone though every single app under Data Usage and told them all to restrict background data. Im on wifi 99% of the time anyways (at work and home. the only time im not on wifi is when im driving). Ive turned off the stupid HP and Samsung print service plug-ins as well.
The only thing i really do on my phone is check my email when it comes through (which is set to sync every hour). Mayyyybe the odd quick facebook check, and text back and forth with my wife. And whenever im not using the phone i always lock it immediately after, otherwise the screen timeout is set to 30 seconds. Ive also got my brightness adjustment set to low.
Basically im at my wit's end on what to try next. Here are a couple screen shots ive just taken. Please help?
Edit: I should also mention that before i updated to 4.4.2 i was on 4.3 and my battery life was way better. At the end of the day i would be at roughly 30-50% battery life on average. It all depends on what i did with my phone during the day. I also notice that for some reason when the battery gets below 40-50% now it will drop off like crazy, especially when im at home for some reason.

Well the stats you posted don't look bad.
To really know what's draining your battery though, you should install BBS (BetterBatteryStats), which can be found on here, in the app section. Let it monitor a full charge and post the results.
Alright i'll install that and post the results when i get them.
Said to hell with it and installed CM 11 on my S3 and now the phone is a HELL of alot faster and the battery life is just insane!
Thanks anyways!
I noticed you said your data is limited. To save data and battery life, give my lightweight app a shot, LeanDroid. There's a thread here on XDA with thousands of happy users

Same issue with 4.4.2 update
I took the OTA 4.4.2 update and my battery life took a big dump as well as the battery / phone started getting hot. At first I just thought my extended 4200 mah battery was on the way out ....so I bought a new one and still have the same problem. So upset that I took that update ....and surprised not to find more complaints here. I assume I can go back to 4.3 or whatever the previous version is ?? Anyone have any suggestions??
(Conspiracy theory) This is probably AT&T 's way of getting people to buy new phones.
The SG3 is stock / unrooted

Battery drain

Hello.
I've bought a G4 in March and only 20 days ago I've started to notice a odd and big battery drain. Android tells me it's "Android SO" consumption. What once drained like up to 5%, now drains more than screen. 20 days ago, battery lasted like 34h. With same usage now, turned 12h.
I've uninstalled the apps I've installed meanwhile, used it in battery eco mode and even on airplane mode, without any luck.
4-5 days ago I've installed Wake Lock Detector (no root, but with the right permissions) and Better Battery Stats. From what I understand from the reports, they don't blame any specific app but show thousands of wakelocks on Android SO. I believe sometimes it can be normal (for instance, when I run with GPS and music). Anyway, maybe the issue lies here.
What I find really odd is that those 2 apps say that the phone is awake more than 90% of the time. Like 1h of deep sleep only per full battery.
I could understand if someone says that it's the battery that had a great use already, but not only has 7 months of use, but also the phone behaviour changed (Android SO was never so high before, at least constantly).
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Suggest you check out and install the apps recommended apps on ✭[GUIDE][26-07-2016]Extreme Battery Life Thread(Greenify+Amplify+Power Nap)✭ at https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-extreme-battery-life-t3095884
Read the OP thoroughly for each app discussed. The wakelock situation can be helped a good deal with Amplify and Greenify in particular - the paid versions - but I would also install AppOppsXposed - all require Xposed which requires root in order to be installed and I would also check out Power Nap to see if any incremental improvement.
You may a also want to run a malware scan ...
Thanks for the info. I checked it earlier, but most of those apps only run in root phones. I'm waiting for official Nougat in G4, mostly because haven't saw yet a Nougat image for this device without any problems, like camera not working, or such. I wouldn't mind to pay for apps that could work on this, but I want to avoid rooting. I guess I rather put Android 7, that has a bigger chance to even solve this problem, than root at this time.
Haven't said earlier but did a factory reset yesterday and device kept the behavior... I believe a hard reset would reduce almost to 0 the eventual malware problem.
No obvious alternatives for not rooted phones? Haven't this happened to someone else and been solved?
Thanks!
I had the same problem a few weeks ago...i was loosing ~30% of the battery at night with no wifi/data/gps etc. I tried everything...factory resets, different roms, greenfy & those kind of apps but the phone would not sleep. The last thing i tried was a factory reset and after i logged into my gmail account i set the phone as a new device...so no restoring apps and backups from my gmail account. Now everything is ok, my phone sleeps like a baby. I've read somewhere that it might be related with the syncing & backups....i don't really know, but you can give it a try.

Haven't tried that yet. I'll try to remove and add the device again, to avoid the pain of a new hard reset.
To have a reference, it was good to know an average percentage of other G4 deep sleep. If everyone has around 90%... maybe it's not a problem at all. The "sleep like a baby" is which percentage? Also, there are plenty babies that wake up hourly crying for a period of time...
Thanks for the tip!

My phone was awake >90% of the time(when screen was off), even in flight mode, when it had "the problem". Now things are back to normal...~2% awake when the screen is off.
Hello again.
Tried to reset a couple more times, tried to remove old phone register in my gmail account, but I wasnt successful.
How you did the
"The last thing i tried was a factory reset and after i logged into my gmail account i set the phone as a new device..."
?
Once it asks for my account, I'm not able to set it's a new device. I also did no restores... Is there a way to disconnect devices from Google account? I was only able to do so in devices I connected like one month, or more, ago, but not able to do so in the device I'm using at the moment.
One thing I did not try but that would confirm your thesis is to register device with a new account.
Anyone with an alternative?
I'm hoping LG really releases Nougat for G4 in 2017...
Today, the device returned to normality without any intervention. I can only imagine the following: since last factory reset I've disabled some apps I didn't used, like Google books, or Google music, but only yesterday I did a normal reboot (due to huge battery drain...). Eventually, some updates just took place after this reset. Anyway, even having imagined this theory, I don't believe in it. Wizardry, I bet.
