Is it possible that I can change from model A8181 to A8182 via Software
Want use my european HTC Desire in Canada on Bell network
Please help me

My Desire (A8181) is now reported as a Desire HD (A9191) in the "About Phone" after flashing a Desire HD ROM. However, the model is still listed as "bravo" in some of Properties screen (e.g. in Quick System Info Pro).
I doubt it is possible. You can use your phone on the bell network you just wont get 3G.
I have used my UK HTC Desire on a Fido SIM with no problems. However, as Fido do not allow a data plan on a pre-pay SIM with a non-Fido supplied phone, I cannot tell if mobile data would work.

even if you could change the model number with software, it would be futile, you would still have a A8181 desire, so any H/W limitations with us networks would remain

Bravo & Brovo c whats the difference?
Bravo is the 'normal' GSM Desire which requires a SIM card to work
Bravo C is the CDMA Desire which is locked to a single provider and doesn't use a SIM card

Also, CDMA = USA and GSM = Europe. Not sure what the rest of the world use - GSM I think?

The US had GSM, and China, Japan, and Korea have CDMA (and they have GSM).

I am aware that multiple model numbers exist with the desire. This includes the a8181, a8182 and a8183 (so I believe). I know there are different radio supports between these also, so that one model supports 850Mhz and one 900Mhz.
But I have S-Offed, reHbooted and am using the ICS rom,
My question is, how exactly can I tell which A series I am using?
Has anyone actually used 3G900 yet? Im meant to have it at work but im stuck on GPRS:1.

They are based on region A8181 is EU A8182 is USA I think so on.

No. Devices are too different to make that possible even if it was physically manageable to do what you ask for.

Hi all
I have 3 HTC 816v 4G NFC DUAL SIM CDMA + GSM
ITS IMPORTED SO I UNLOCKED IT FOR CDMA
I am on stock recevory and stock china Rom
NOW my bootloader status is
Locked
S-off cid -11111111
Now I am unable to receive sms on cdma however I can sent sms. On gsm everything ok
So I can anybody suggest me something that i need to do.[emoji1] [emoji1] [emoji1]
Also suggest if there is some other rom that I can try in this variant as there is so much models in htc 816
