MMS bug?? - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello. ive looked around the forums and havent found anything like my problem. My problem is that whenever i receive an mms, usually a picture, it becomes a video with a cation. like my friend today sent me a picture of his new skateboard and when i opened the messanging app, it shows the little video playback button, you know the little sideways triangle in a box, over a thumbnail of the picture. when i click it has a picture of the skateboard, it is a five second video of the picture that takes up a 1/4 of the screen in the top left corner with a black background and his message under the picture. then the "video" ends and takes me back to the menu of the messanging app. oh, and you cant interact with it like a picture, so no zooming in or panning. this happens with every picture and is becoming really annoying. any help appreciated! thanks!
ps: im on a tmo g2 on tmobile

[Q] Messaging Notification

My HTC Tilt 2 flashes a word "Messaging" in the upper left corner of the screen even when theres no new message, email or text incoming or received.
When this occurs, it forces the screen no matter what i am viewing into a portrait mode.
I have ChangeScreen installed and have set the startup default to landscape,, then setup exception rules to force the screen to landscape at each tool, app, function.
But when I am viewing a web page , say on Opera10 for example, when the sporadic "Messaging" notice pop up on the screen, it forces the opera screen to portrait. Im having to hit the "x" key in the upper right to clear the notification and shift the phone 90 degrees and back just to get the screen back to landscape.
The irritating thinig is this 'messaging' notice constantly popping up. I dont mind moving the phone around a little to get to landscape again
Is there anything that can be done to permanently stop this message from popping up?
Thanks,

[Q] DHD Camera Gallery

Anyone else had this problem??
All of a sudden am having problem with photo's taken on my Desire HD.
Recent pictures taken do not show an image in the Gallery, they just show grey background with an exclamation marked icon and do nothing when selected on screen, videos will play but no thumbnail is shown in the gallery.
Tried copying images to view on PC but get error message saying "JPEG marker segment length is too short (the file may be truncated or incomplete)". Yet was able to view image immediately after taking the photo, but cannot now.
Any ideas? Thanx

Notification and picture messages

I've noticed two things lately on my phone. Half the time i get a text i don't get a sound or a vibration. Anyone else had this problem?
second problem that may just be a settings problem. whenever i get a text with a pictures in it shows play fast forward and rewind buttons along with a time line. Any ideas?

Click to collapse
Have you checked your settings in the messaging app? (Messaging-Settings-Notifications) Other than that, you could check under Settings-Sound-General and check your Vibration setting.
And I have also gotten that on my part too, I think this has to do with the stock messaging app showing a picture message as a small video. You could always pause while seeing the picture and save it

[Q] Sometimes when my friend with an iPhone sends an MMS, it shows up as a slideshow

That is what's happening. It's irritating because the image won't show up for 10 seconds, then afterwards it will show up at a tiny resolution.
This only happens when I get stuff from an iPhone. Any idea what's happening?
Theres just incompatibilities between the iPhone and other devices sending/receiving MMS. When you receive the pic, click it then hit the "next" button, it'll skip right to the message. You can always hit the menu button (or long-press the message) and hit "save attachment" as well. It'll save the pics to Gallery.
The quality issue is an MMS issue. You don't get good quality no matter what, especially when we start looking at it on 720P screens.

Google Photos and "auto enhancement"

Hi all
Can anyone else confirm if they have this "feature"
In Google Photos (not the old? google+ photos or whatever it was), when flicking to a photo so swiping to next photo, a split second after the photo is on screen it then changes colour tone or whatever.
There seems to be an auto enhance feature and its doing my head in.
No option anywhere to seemingly turn that off!
Hopefully I have not just made anyone aware of it which will now drive them insane
If others can confirm / deny and share my hate for this "feature" then maybe we can present our case to Google to at least allow that to be turned off.
Yeah man I've noticed that before but never thought much of it. There is definitely a little bit of a shift shortly after loading a new pic.
