remove swap partition - Desire General

Hi,
When i first tried a2sd, i created the ext3 partition for storage, and 256mb partition for swap. Now i want to remove the swap parition. I don't really want to format my card, so is it possible to just connect my sd card to windows, and delete the swap partition in windows' disk management? i don't mind leaving 256mb unuse.
Thanks,
Glen

[Q] Using G1 Sdcard with G1 partition setup should I format?

Hey guys I am using my sdcard from my G1 with an ext3 (maybe ext4) partition, a swap partition, and a fat32 partition. Should I format and just leave the fat32 partition? or should I just delete the swap partition? I figure I won't need it since the Vision has 512mb ram. Thank you.
you also don't need the ext since you have nearly 2gb of storage accessible to you.
format to just fat32 and you'll be golden

Resizing EXT partition..

I have a 500mb EXT partition, but have installed a Sense HD rom which has almost filled it, therefore i either want to expand it to 1gb or remove it entirely format it back to fat32 and then install a new 1gb partition...
Is one easier than the other?
I can only see the 500mb option in Rom Manager?? And when i mount the sd on my pc the EXT partition doesnt even show?
See this thread from a few hours ago, to understand why you can't see it.

And AndroHero's post to find out how to get it shown and partitioned.
use this! you can make parition without formating sdcard. I have done it many times

i changed 512 to 1gb then did a whole fresh sd card

[Q] Ext Partition

Hi
I am having trouble to make my phone recognize my ext partition
THis is what I did ...
Format sd into FAT32
Use Gparted to resize FAT32 into a 6.4gb and 1GB ext4 and 32mb linux swap
And i wiped all data and installed the ROM(Reflex S 2.1.5)
When I boot into ROM, and go to Setting->Application ... i see i can use only 134mb as internal disk space
But in Storage and Mounts I can see that there is 1GB of ext partition
Please help

Your phone recognize the memory since in Settings it tells you have 1GB. You need to use a script called A2SD+ to be able to use that memory. The script will move almost all applications to that partition, but still use some of your phone's memory so you don't need to worry. This is normal.
But I did do the same process for my friend ... Installed same ROM and it recognizes his ext as internal
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Are you sure the partition is formatted correctly and the ROM you are using supports a2sd+?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA Premium App
What is it showing underv Setting > SD and Phone memory (in french SD et mémoire du téléphone)
I am using reflex s 2.1.5 and am sure my partition is correct too

I can see
Total Space - 6.4GB
Avlbl SPace -6.15GB
Available on ext partition - 616mb
INTERNAL STORAGE
Available Space on /System - 9.13mb
Avialable Space on /Data - 130mb
Try reformat your SD card directly from GParted. So you enter in gparted, delete all partitions, make FAT32 Primary (First), make EXT4 Primary (Sencond) with no space between the partitions.
Also do you have installed A2SD+ script??

Partitioning SD Card

Hi, I have already partitioned my 8gb SD card. I made 1 FAT32 Partition with 1.3gb of unused space, while i used the left memory to make a EXT4 partition with around 6.5gb.... My question is, why the second partition is invisible in windows, and where should i put my music and stuff...... Also, Link2SD says that it can't mount the script because of an invalid argument... Please help me fix this..... I'm using HenseMod6 by the way
Around 1-2 GB of Ext partition is enough. Ext* partitions are linux filesystems and cannot be read by windows. Your music and photos should go on the fat partition.
Your rom may not support ext4, try reformatting it to ext3
Thanks, mate. My ClockworkMod Recovery helped mi fix it..

- Insert memory card in card reader and connect.
- Open minitool.
- In the top where the software displays all the partitions in graphical way right click and select delete all partitions.
- Select apply.
- Now remove the card.
- Insert again (I recommend these two steps as i had some problem if i didn't follow this.)
- Run minitool again.
- Create partition (fat32, primary, your size)
- then create ext4 partition ( ext4, primary, yoursize.)
- Apply.
connect card to computer and open minitool partition wizard, click recovery partition and full scan your card. if there is any problem, it can find it out and fix it.
