[Q] Calendar App - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Looking for a calendar app like the HTC sense one but for non-sense/AOSP that will sync Facebook birthdays and google sync. It doesnt need to be fancy just something that will work. Anyone have any suggestions?

Jorte does this and is a great calendar. And it's free.

I recommend using launcher pro plus, it has a calendar widget with 2 views and is scrollable, also the launcher is infinitely better.

jorte is able to sync directly with Facebook?
i use fdCal on the facebook site...that will sync with google calendar. then it shows up in your list of calendars like the rest of them. no different or special calendar required.

I'll be honest. I'm not a facebook guru. I know jorte has all my facebook friends birthdays on there without me doing anything. So I assume yes. All I have is facebook app set up on my phone, and then my regular google account.

Pure calendar, pure grid calendar, pure messenger.

Best google calendar/tasks day-planner?

I'm looking for a great app that integrates google's calendar and tasks, with a very slick interface that makes it easy to plan my day, prioritize tasks, etc. But it also needs to not interfere with my ability to use Calendar and Tasks on my PC at home and at work.
I've tried Astrid, which is having problems with google sync. I am currently using BeOrganized, which looks nice, but does not have all the functionality I'd like.
I like business calendar for calendar.

This, if for nothing else but the widgets. My only gripe about it is there isn't an option for a dark calendar view rather than the all white. Still the best calendar app I've used.
I use GTasks for quick notes of to-do lists, then Touch Calendar for everything else. I'm not into these dark apps, so I chose them based on their bright, visual appeal.
I like Jorte, but honestly, when I started using it nothing else supported tasks and calendar at all. So I haven't had a chance to compare it to the newer crop of apps.
+ 1 for Jorte. It syncs with google calendar and tasks.

[Q] Business Calendar facebook synchronisation

Hi all,
I've been using Business Calendar for a while. It synchronises my gmail calendar and also my facebook events/birthdays. This is really useful because I don't need to put an event into my calendar after I've already accepted it.
Since switching to a custom ROM (JellyTime), Business Calendar does not seem to recognise my facebook account on the phone so I cannot get it to synchronise the facebook events. The instructions say that it should recognise any calendars on your phone but that does not happen.
Does anyone know how to get facebook events to synchronise with the calendar?
Thanks.
Any thoughts from anyone? Alternatively, does anyone know if you can get the Google calendar to sync with Facebook events?
Thanks.

From Facebook you can export events and birthdays as calendar links that can then be added to your Google calendar. They will then appear as additional calendars on your phone.
I forget exactly how to do it in Facebook, but I think you go to events, click on settings, and then you have the export option. Google it for more details.
Good luck!

Thanks Zamula - your way worked! Just one point of clarification, rather than exporting, you need to right click on the link and copy the address. You can then add it as a Google calendar under Other Calendars. In Business Calendar you can then add the calendars (1 for birthdays, 1 for events) to synchronise them. So far so good, the last thing is whether the calendars auto update. I'll be able to tell that when I'm invited to a new event!

Calendars mirror each other. need advice

The native calendar and one I downloaded called Calendar seem to be in sync with each other regardless of how I set them. I set the native one to my sync with gmail calendar and the new one has a folder/calendar I created. No matter which account I select, the other calendar changes to it. I can't use them as two different calendars. Hope that was clear enough! Any thoughts?

I can't help you directly but have you tried Agenda Widget Plus? It lets you choose which calendars to use (e.g. exchange or google calendars). It's not really a calendar app but has nice widget options
Android basically collapses all calendars into a single view. Depending on the app or widget, you can select which calendars to view, as well as to which calendar a new entry should be saved. The data is kept within each calendar, so if you delete one the other calendars will stay. If you use Outlook, its very much like the overlay view.
Hope that helps clear the confusion.

App to Sync Outlook Calendar and Phone?

I use my phone a lot for work, and just wondering what the best 4x4 widget/app is for organising my appointments/meetings etc?
I'd like something that will Sync with Outlook Calendar on my work emails as well as allowing me to input meetings/appointments in my phone. I would also like something that will allow me to have some sort of 'to-do list'.
Thanks a lot!!
I use an app called
gsyncit it is not free (but not expensive) but I manage to sync Calendar Contacts and Tasks NOT emails
Hello
I do it using gmail calendar
How i do it :
Install google calendar sync (freetool can be found in google) on your pc and configure ure gmail account
That will push your outlook calendar to gmail
That can be done in two ways
( outlook to gmail / gmail to outlook)
Without gmail i dont know if there is another way to make it work
Cheers

Multiple Google Calendar widgets with different accounts

I have two Google accounts on my phone right now. One is my primary gmail account that I use for everything, and the other is for school emails and everything related to academic work.
What I did this semester is I put my schedule in my school gmail account, instead of in my regular account like I had been. I'd like to know if there is a way to pick different accounts and display the two accounts on two separate widgets. I'd prefer to use the stock android widget as that has never given me issues although I realize I can always download a Calendar app and have this problem solved. However it would be nice to not have to download anything and keep the way my home screens look uniform. It would also be nice because the stock calendar widget has a native lock screen widget that looks and works really well.
Basically, is there a setting in the stock calendar widget to select just one gmail account per widget? Or should I just download a calendar widget from the Play Store and do things that way?
