Have you updated to the last official ROM? Visionary doesn't work with that.
There is a way to get root if you have S-OFF, search for it in the forums.

The correct section of the forum would be a good place to look. This is for development threads not cries for help.

Found clues for rooting.

I found a forum where there talking of rooting Wildfire S (Htc Marvel)
Unfortunatly , this forum is in Chinese language.
There is the link with google translate : http://translate.googleusercontent....1.html&usg=ALkJrhgeEKjydt_I6ck9muCipyxUwFujLA
Hope there is going to help root of Wildfire S
The Wildfire S can already be rooted by using Gingerbreak.
Only if you have S-Off device ... With XTC Clip... We search to do without the clip.

Not really. It can only be rooted with GingerBreak on some firmware versions. For instance, the Bell Canada Wildfire S has a very recent firmware version that can't be rooted with GingerBreak. They fixed the exploit.
Here are the Chinese instructions to root the Wildfire S. It's pretty clear and straightforward and only works with S-OFF. I haven't tried it yet though
http://bbs.xda.cn/thread-7706280-1-1.html
(translate it with Google Chrome, just right click and "Translate to English".
Or the fully translated link:
http://translate.google.com/transla...n&u=http://bbs.xda.cn/thread-7706280-1-1.html
By the way... "brush" means "boot".
I am attaching the root.zip file they used to root so you guys don't have to register on the chinese forum.
The process is basically boot into recovery and flash that file.
I have recently bought a Wildfire S with 2.3.3 ROM. Can I root it by flasing the root.zip?
Will I not brick my phone?
Is it a permanent root?
Thanks for answers, in advance!
The zipfile appears to only have files for /system; so your bootloader and recovery is unaffected. Even *if* it bricks your phone, you can reflash a stock rom without problems.
In other words, there is *zero* risk in trying it out yourself.
Do you know what the Bell one can be rooted with?

Currently it can't be rooted with GingerBreak nor SuperOneClick. I haven't tried the chinese method specified above because I haven't seen my girlfriend in a few days and she's the one with this phone.
Why not just install a custom recovery and then a rooted ROM instead, would make everything so much easier.

Yep, but I don't think the chinese method is complicated at all. We'd have to try it first though. I haven't found yet a rooted ROM for this phone.

If you look in the code box it says it has root permissions with Superuser installed.
it have been rooted
Tested on stock European ROM (S-OFF with XTC clip) and works perfectly. Just flash it with the custom recovery and reboot!

Is it possible to root my Desire that has official HTC Gingerbread? I mean is it possible to downgrade so I can use unrevoked to get root access?

I'm total noob as well, but i want to start installing other roms on my DHD. I've Searched this forum for several hours, and I found a lot of different ways to root, unlock, radio off and I dont know what more you can do...
The best option for a noob sounds the Easy Ace Root Tool, as suggested in this topic. But what I dont know is what to do after the tool is done...
If I understand well, this tool wil unlock the bootloader, provides root access and flash ClockworkMod Recovery, right?
Can someone give me some information about the next steps?
Thank you in advanced!

Yes, you understand correctly. Next you flash a rooted custom ROM from recovery. You get those from the development forum. After you install it from recovery, you will need to fastboot flash the boot.img from the ROM zip using your computer.
is it enouhg to open the h-boot over the htc-dev page and after this to install maybe twrp for recovery,to flash roms on a desire hd,ofcource with flashing the boot.img with fastboot.Icant find another, actual way to root my DHD?!?

If you're rooted (and with ARHD you should be, unless you removed it) you can install the 4ext updater apk from the 4ext website (google for it). Then, install the recovery from the app.

Thank you very much... And one more question..
If I just instal 4ext recovery, would it just replace the TWRP which i have now or I have to unninstall it first?

It'll just get overwritten by 4ext. You don't need to uninstall it.

S-off is more powerful: you can flash updated recoveries and different hboots for more internal memory.
Once you flash recovery you can already flash any ROM, not just 2.3 ones
You have not done enough research on revolutionary... http://revolutionary.io/
ive tried that version but beta key not working for some reason says aborting

Then it is likely that you are entering the code wrongly and / or you have not installed to modified hboot drivers
Copy/paste the beta key.
