[19 MAR][ZIP&USB-ROM] Jaws-MIUI base on MIUI 3-11 [Data.img/ext4][JawsMIUI42rec2.0]
Hello guys, i'm updating my release, read carefully before you flash this new rom (JawsMIUIXXrecX.X.zip) because we need to modify boot partition layout, 5 mb from default ClockWorkMod Recovery is not enough, read it first before u flash..

if you are coming from previous of my zip-rom build, you don't have to reflash CWM recovery again, because your nand partition already set up correctly but if you new to my build you must flash ClockWorkMod recovery again with this configuration to change partition layout :

How to :
- Read MAGLDR and ClockWorkMod thread about how to flash those file
- Put JawsMIUIxxRecxx.zip to your sdcard
- Put .data folder in your root of sdcard, u will have data.img and config.txt
- flash JawsMIUIxxRecxx.zip from recovery (choose install from sdcard zip)
Config.txt explanation
data_img=1 (1 for enabling data.img, 0 to disable data.img)
data_ext=0 (1 for enabling ext partition, 0 to disable)
nand_data=0 (1 for enabling nand as data, 0 to disable)
data_size=1024 (size of data.img)
data_sync=1 (0, fast, disable sync option when mount data.img, 1, safe, enable sync option when mount data.img, use this if experiencing data corruption
lcd_density=240 (don't change this, MIUI don't like other LCD density)
gps_zone=id (your country id, for fast gps lock)

2. if you want to use an ext4 partition, use ClockWorkMod Recovery to partition your sdcard, but backup your sdcard files FIRST!

download your language pack from site i have mention above, MIUI build version must be same, example : you are using my current build, which is MIUI 14-1 then you must download your language pack for MIUI 14-1, it doesn't matter if that language pack for Desire or N1, then you must download my build.prop here, open that build.prop find this line :

change fr and FR to your country id, example : us & US for USA, fr & FR for French, it & IT for Italian and so on..then SAVE it
after that, open your downloaded language pack, just open it, do not extract it, double click system folder, you will see build.prop there, drag and drop my build.prop to this folder (this is for replacing build.prop from Desire/N1 language pack to our HD2)
then you can flash your language pack on top of my build, i highly suggest you to use a clean/empty data.img otherwise some translation will not right!

i see, i prefer tytung too, it seems the best kernel and support cifs, i still figure it out why it stuck on gogogo screen..
i'm in Tmobile, do i need to copy the data folder in SD Card...
i tried without that it still stuck up in HTC logo

well, ok, my knowlege is not enough to rate the kernels, both are ok for me, did not seen big differences (prj0.3 is without OC, who cares?).
the reason is (don't know if you interessted?!) that scummVM do not work properly on futureshok's build, on your's it's fine. So we thought it's kernel related... it's not

- extract JawsMIUIrec1.0, you will have 2 files, .data and JawsNandRec1.1.zip
- inside .data folder u will have data.img and config.txt
- put those two file on sdcard
- flash JawsNandRec1.1.zip from recovery (choose install from sdcard zip)

I don't know if this buid suffers from it.
But the one before did:
Miui powersaving mode fails, screen jumps on and stays awake.
No GPS fix in Belgium.
Out of the blue I started getting Installation error -18 when I try installing stuff from the market.
Battery life is great, 50 hrs. But when powersaving mode could be solved maybe more..
Excellent! Lesjaw & Jakontil finally dragged me into this nand-game LOL. Time to explore. So far, everything worked as expected, no FC, instant data connection. All seems running well. Well done bro

hi everyone! I'm finally wanting to try this. just one question, i had gipaq miui on sd card for a while and didn't like he camera picture quality. is this supposed to be better in this ROM? before kernel said "oldcam"(sorry if stupid just a begginer)

Q: Can you add extra languages
A: No only the languages that xj makes avaible will be here.
Q: Support for CLK?
A: Yeah it should have.
Q: I have a slow GPS lock/ no lock
A: Use GPS status & toolbox from market an download a-gps data
also use the build-in fasterfix app to set NTP server.
Also remember that first lock takes sometime.

After that your done and you have the following options:
To enable Apps2sd
Just make any EXT partition and phone will auto detect the situation and move apps that support it to the sdcard.
To enable external data.img (default 512 MB)
1. create '.data' folde under sdcard (/sdcard/.data).
2. create 'config.txt' under '.data' directory.
3. copy old data.img to '.data' directory, otherwise a new data.img will be created.
4. If you want any 1024 mb instead of 512 add data_size=1024 to config.txt
5. boot into Android.

To config PPP/RMNET and GPS_ZONE
When not using data.img or ext4
1. To switch to RMNET delete the PPP folder (in system/etc)
2. To set GPS zone use fasterfix you can also use this with the data.img/app2sd init.
For the rest I recommend using gps status & toolbox to download a-gps data since it is a kernel problem.
First fix takes long as always...
When using data.img or apps2sd
Or just create a empty config.txt file in /sdcard/.data
Add this to the config.txt file for ext4/data img:
ppp_mode=0 will enable the rmnet. 1 Will let it stay on ppp.
gps_zone='your country code', - country code, us, fr, jp, etc
or use fasterfix

They are so small about 150 kb so no need to remove them.
Btw I forgot to say that it has about 4 tones included. They are serious and modern hope you like them.
Would like to try this one, never flashed a MIUI before so I'm kinda curious how it works. But before I flash this one: did you applied the App2SD+ in it or can I flash DT's App2SD+ with the ROM? Or do you think the data will be enough for apps and data since system's only 140M?

There is 205 Mb free it is enough for me.
Dont do this on latest version
And you should be able to flash apps 2 sd in it.

Recompiled all the apps and framework for lowest RAM consuming and highest performance
2. Merged DesireZ and DesireHD
mixed the advantage features from both DesireZ and DesireHD into one build.
3. RAM fs
after testing for a week, come into one best way to utilize the RAMfs, by default, one 16M RAMfs will be created for app and market cache.
once set to ram_data=1, additional 1 RAMfs will be created for most accessed dalvik cache.
4. totally re-write the SuperInit
fixed a lot of bugs inside and optimize it again, once set ram_data=1, the boot time should be within 1min, in next version, the boot time will be reduced again.
5. added a lot of usable functions into SuperInit
- extend the backup/restore to be able to backup &restore to different build.s
- added more repair_mode, to be able to repair the nand system and reset the system.
6. use own kernel
freak kernel v1.2 to perfect fit our builds. Source: http://www.linux4freak.com/gitweb
hence, 2 parameters were added to best control the kernel
vdd_mode= xxx //for under/over volting cpu, [-150,-125,-100,-75,-50,-25,+25,+50]
sched_mode= xxx // "cfq" or "bfq"

New features for superinit v4.4
Buildin with IMG/EXT4/RAM support
--- by default will create a 16M RAMfs and use it as app_cache and cache.
--- once set the ram_data=1, will move the dalvik-cache of framwork into RAM
--- to roll back to normal status, use the ram_data=11
-- Optimize the nand_data, which will also be able to move the dalvik-cache of framwork into Nand.
-- add new backup_img=2 to back apps from data, which is used for changing the build, the backup_img=1 will back up the whole data, once restore to a new base, will incur the UID inconsistent issue. should use restore_img=2 to restore.
-- add more function for repair_mode
-- repair_mode=1 will rescue the data partition.
-- repair_mode=2 can use the MAGLDR load system to repair the Nand system and mount the Nand system to /mnt/rescue
-- repair_mode=3 will reset the system, all the modified app, framework, lib, fonts that caused the issue will be removed, system will be reset to the origin without losing data and settings.
-- Auto detect the phone modal(EU or TMOUS)
--- for EU modal, will auto enable the data.img if the 2nd partition can not be found.
--- for TMOUS, if doesn't have 2nd partition and set the data_img=1, will auto bypass all the relative code to reduce the boot time.
-- Auto detect the boot mode (SD/MAGLDR/NAND)
--- auto select the best configuration for each boot mode
-- Auto partitioning the SDCard if set the format_ext4=9

For Nand:
just extract the Desire_DL and Update_DL(for upgrade) folder from the package to the root of your SDCard, flash.
change the config.txt.nand to config.txt and modify the config in it.
For SD/MAGLDR:
just extract the Desire_DL and Update_DL(for upgrade) folder from the package to the root of your SDCard, answer yes when ask for overwrite.
change the config.txt.sd to config.txt and modify the config in it. (Nand)
or change the config.txt.magldr to config.txt and modify the config in it. (Magldr)

Notes :
The first boot will take a very long time, especially for SD/MAGLDR due to system will convert the system.img to system.ext2, need 10-20 mins depends on the speed of your SDCard.
After the install, please reboot your system at lease twice to let the system settle down.

1. more kernel can be found here,--a. For Nand, just extract the Update_DL folder to the root of your sdcard, boot twice.
--b. For SD, extract the Update_DL folder to the root of your sdcard, and copy the zImage file from /Update_DL/update/kernel_files to Desire_DL, boot.
--c. You can also use the same kernel package, but replace the kernel file with your own under /Update_DL/update/kernel_files. (for SD/Magldr version, the zImage file should be put under Desire_DL)
2. for system upgrade or bugfix, extract the Update_DL folder from a update package to the root of your sdcard, reboot.
3. if you intend to replace any file from the system, use rootexplorer to delete the target file first, then put the file to /Update_DL/root/system..., e.g, if you want to change the framework.res, just delete the origin file from /system/framework, then, put your own file under /Update_DL/root/system/framework, boot.

what it's confusing it's the fact that you keep fixes and notes for older version..
well, for me, those are completely useless
new releases are there for solving bugs and problems of the old version
got a problem with 3.x?? update to 4.x. job done.
also some people could install old fixes them on the newer version, causing only problems
same story for the videos: they were great to show the build.
but as 4.x introduces a lots of improvements, the videos may not reflect the reality

I love it...that way I didn't updated from 3.4 till now.....
according to me it's the best kernel for the phone...also if sometime 3g and wifi data doesn't start to connect.....however I can't wait for testing it!

hmm, the 1.85 framework is not compatible with old version, you can use this http://uot.dakra.lt/ to do it from the original framework.res.

Must extract 1 of 2 7z files. If you want data on NAND, you extract 512mb.7z to SD (no data.img in this) and modify .config to 0

i made a cwm zip of your rom, i modded it slightly to be more tmo friendly, by adjusting the mms sizes, user agent strings, a few extra optimizations in the init.d, some adjustments to the build.prop as to be compatible with the cyberon voice commander that comes with oem roms (which i added), modified a permission file to remove a mention of a apk that isnt in the rom (a vip apk) and a some extra files in xbin so i wouldnt have to heavily edit the updater-script..
if you approve, could i upload it?

i just thought id point out the log keeps throwing up this error:
Sensors ( 342): Couldn't open /dev/akm8975_aot (No such file or directory)
ive found that akm8975_aot is for the compass, and its sensors.ace.so calling for it.
EDIT: it seems i figured it out.. that error and my g-sensor troubles were related.. i see now why you changed the product.device and product.board to bravo from ace in the build.prop...
just push/copy this build.prop over the one thats installed in the zip:
View attachment build.prop.txt(remove the .txt)
if you download the zip on your pc just overwrite the file inside, or to you phone just move it to where the old one is (system)

well, you would need a system partition above 370mb for it to install and the tweaks i put in are for tmo, but you can install it on 512 hd2
Just installed this rom to see how it is, I also converted your DAF rom to a CWM but made no changes. Seems snappier and more responsive then Pyrorob's CWM with the additions (Sorry Pyrorob, no offense).
2 Bugs, nothing major initial testing, 1) When you first boot up the Main screen after setup is blank with only the camera icon, but has no words under it. 2) GPS cant determine if it works or not, no GPS icon on the notification bar. (Both Your version and Pyrorob's)
Going to try it out and see how it handles, looking for a new rom with less bugs then the one I have been running for the past month. Nice start on the release.
I also converted mine to CWM. Yes it is very snappy even during installation/restoring of apps. So far I didn't find any bugs yet. Also, I made some mods and customizations that suits my needs.

3 OPTIONS TO AUTO-CONFIG MEGA INITRD:
1- Install ROM without nothing in SD. It autoconfig alone for work in NAND.
2- Install ROM without EXT4, is necessary to create a folder Desire_DL, this autocreate a data.img with config for best performance (1gb + 16mb RAM).
3- If you have EXT4 so install ROM and do nothing because this it autoconfig to best performance.
FOR CONFIG MANUALLY TO CHOOSE DATA.IMG OR EXT4:
1- Create a file config.txt in folder Desire_DL with this configurations:

swap_mode=1 will create a interchange file vfat for best performance if dont exist 3d partition

Hey confar,
Flashed it and so far from first impressions it boots QUICK. Nice and smooth just like what i saw with the SD build. I do see some chinese text lingering within the ROM though; is there a recommended english language pack we need to flash after flashing the ROM? I know people often refer to the Nexus One pack - but is this what you would also recommend?

I see it on some applications (themes and file manager for example). It's also present in the sms menu (tabs at the top). I also noticed a bit of Spanish text being displayed in the notification bar.

Glitches Explained
Bluetooth Pairing: To get Bluetooth to work, go into Bluetooth, turn on bluetooth, put headset or device into pairing mode. Then Tap Scan for Devices, then tap Discoverable (Making the HD2 discoverable) the device will be found and paired and working. If you disconnect a paired bluetooth or turn off bluetooth, to re-connect, turn bluetooth on, then tap discoverable, then tap the device you want to re-connect to. Its a PITA but it works!

How to prepare your Phone for this rom if you are coming from another rom using the same CWR Layout (If you Flash a new CWR Partition you can skip this step):
In CWR go to Mount & Storage, and Manually format each section:
Format Boot, Cache, Data, System, then go to advanced and then wipe dalvik cache. once you do that, then you can flash the rom. I have made it that it formats boot, data, and system before flashing, but its an extra precaution, especially for EU users.
EXTRA NOTATION:
As I said in the FAQ, you can try different partition sizes, but any problems that occur I can not be responsible for. Do understand that we all have a limit of what we can use on our rom.
So seeing that so many people are having this stuck at gogogo problem, I have attached here the CWR zip for EU & TMOUS. The problem is not the Rom but your BOOT Partition Layout.
Just to be safe here are the instructions, "Just in Case":
Boot into Magdlr, make sure your phone is not connected by USB, then choose USB Flasher when it says waiting USB, plug your phone in, WAIT for it to say Waiting USB...USB, then flash the CWR I provided, these settings will and do work, when the phone reboots, then choose option 8 to go to recovery, and flash the rom, and right after flash the 1.3 update.
As a habit, you should after the flash of the rom go into the advanced option before rebooting, and choose error report, so that a recovery.log of the boot process is saved to your sdcard, and then you should pull this log into your computer. This log shows you the whole flashing process and can save you endless time and headaches of why your phone is not booting.
98% of the time the failure to boot is due to running out of room on the device because of the wrong partition layout. 1% of the time it is due to a wrong boot layout. 1% of the time its due to bad blocks on the phone that cant be writtten to which reduces your partition size.
I cannot guarantee that HD2 toolkit formats the partition layout correctly, or anything other program, this is what I use and it has not failed me yet, if you choose to use a different way of laying out your partition, then please do not blame the rom.

Q: Will you be putting out a CLK rom?
A: No, if you want to use clk its rather simple, extract the initrd.gz and zimage from the rom and place it in the fastboot folder. Flash the rom as normal, and then enter fastboot and type this command: fastboot -c "" -b 0x11800000 flash:raw boot zImage initrd.gz
Reboot, and enjoy!
Q: Does the TMOUS use an SD-EXT?
A: No, the whole rom fits on the phone, (yes you read this right), and you still have about 45mb of free space in the system folder.
Q: What about apps? Thats not enough room to put apps in!
A: All apps are scripted to install in the "DATA" folder, since you have nearly 400mb of free space, I think that is more then enough. Not to mention you still do have an SDCard.
Q: What about us EU users?
A: EU users will still have to use an SD-EXT. I didnt want to play with this much, since I dont have an EU HD2, but I am looking to see if I can lessen how much of the EXT is used. (Possibly moving framework and some rom apps into the phone). Still undecided.
Q: Are you planning to update this rom?
A: As of 1.5's release No. Due to the fact that a> All bugs should be squashed, b> There isnt anything new to add, c> and the biggest reason; Both my HD2's are biting the dust and can no longer continue flashing roms.
Q: Can I use a different Partition layout?
A: Sure, but if it doesnt work, then dont blame me.
Q: How stable is this ROM?
A: As stable as its going to get currently, there are too many missing parameters in this rom and until they are sorted out it will still have glitches and hiccups.
Q: I don't know how to flash this rom, can you help?
A: Sure. Read the sticky in this forum and learn the basics.

Thanks, it was my Opera browser that couldn't manage the download ! FF is now doing the job.......slowly hahaha

Remember I am hosting the files on my own server, I have a limit of 5mb upstream, so please be patient.

You can try this :
Download Android Terminal Emulator from the market and launch it
Type in su then hit enter. (Accept when SU asks if you want to allow root)
Type in echo ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1 >> /data/local.prop then hit enter.
restart phone.
After a few ours testing I didn't have any Sense FC and no rosie restarts.
I am hoping that this is the way to keep rosie in memory.

I dont know why you did implement your gps.conf (even though it was a lot of work for you) as tytung clearly said that his (which he had written by himself which means he knows about his own code) and everyone else's gps lib is not going to fetch any data of the gps.conf
so why even putting it in there? (or was it just because it can't hurt to put it in there?)
