Bible Apps for Archos 70 Internet Tablet ... - Gen8, Gen9, Gen10 Themes and Apps

I'm looking for good Bible apps for my Archos 70 Internet Tablet. I've already downloaded all of the free Bible apps, but I'm looking for something with more features.
Does anybody have Bible apps for your Archos tablets?
I'd like to have several Bible apps, one for when I can connect to the Internet, and another for when I don't have access to the Internet.

Try Olive Tree Bible software. It's the cream of the crop!

not too sure what kind of additional features you r looking at but i'm using youversion and i'm happy with it. it even let's you download some offline versions now, soi can read my Bible without my data line

YouVersion is the best in my opinion. It's just called "Bible" by LifeChurch.tv in the Market. (http://www.appbrain.com/app/bible/com.sirma.mobile.bible.android)
It's got offline versions now so you can download them and read without being online. It looks great on the 101 so I'm sure it would look nice on the 70 also.

I already had that app! Since it's only called Bible, I didn't know what it was until I opened it. Confusing, with at least four different apps, all called just "Bible."
Is there someway to rename apps?

Download the Kindle app and then do a search for Bible. There are several free ones and Kindle has some nice features like bookmarking, text selection, what-not. I only read with it...haven't really explored the features...
It might cut the mustard for ya though.

I just downloaded Kindle for Android, but I can't find it on my Archos. I checked the default Apps program and Apps Organizer, and Applications Shortcuts. Kindle isn't anywhere to be found!

Oh yes, Market shows Kindle as already being downloaded.

Try Acrobible Lite.

Thanks! I had it, but didn't get around to checking out all the features. I've added Acrobible Lite to my Bible folder.

I love this version Talking NASB Bible by Tecarta, Inc.
I use the YouVersion Bible to keep track of where I am, reading through the Bible - Chronological, but read the NASB Bilble! I did pay for it, but it's a great app well worth it!

havent seen the words olive tree in a while... must investigate
Ive always used "live bible" on all my android devices, simple and easy to use, might consider a new app soon for more study needs but live bible does the trick most of the time (except when i have no network)

Just got my TP2, some questions

Hey guys i just got my tp2 today after being a blackberry user on verizon for the past few years. I got the chance to trade my storm 2 for the TP2 and took it as i love trying new phones out. However, i do have a few questions as this thing is pretty complex in comparison to my Storm2.
1. I know you can download themes and what not here on the TP2 much like you can on a blackberry and i saw one earlier today i would love to give a shot as it looks like everything i am looking for. HOWEVER, how do i go about doing something like that on this phone? Can i do it OTA like i did on the storm? Most of the issues lie in the fact that I am a mac user and do not have access to a Windows computer.
2. Are there any known problems you guys are having with the phones that i should keep an eye out for?
Any help or insight would be much appreciated and i look forward to sticking around for a while. I have wanted to try an HTC phone out for a while!!
Thanks in advance
For one, although it is no big deal in this post since this post is very general, we are a CDMA device and our main forums are here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=517
1) Oh wow, you asked just about the second most complex question. WM has about one bajillion themes that you can use, each theme with their own unique features. Manila (Sense/TF3D/Manila), SPB Mobile Shell, Infinity by Ageye, iPhoneToday, the list goes on and on! What you like will be personal preference...my best suggestion would be give it a try and see if you like it. Here is a useful post with HUNDREDS of apps:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550973
2) You should install SSK Dynamic proxy and NoPushInternet to help improve performance. At0mAngD3D driver might be of use as well.
Best of luck with your new phone!
Thanks for the quick reply. My older brother told me to check out the SPB Mobile Shell i believe it was as he said there is sliding pages and what not much like the MyTouch or other HTC phones so i will def check those out. Can i download them OTA? That is going to be the biggest thing for me. I need to learn A LOT about this phone.
PS: It's nice to see another snowboarder in here. I manage a snowboard shop myself

Microsoft Marketplace will have the *majority* of apps you can find online available to download OTA. I do not believe it will automatically update the apps though (there are some 3rd party softwares that do).
SPB Mobile Shell is one of the most customizable UI's that we have. There are a ton of great widgets and themes for mobile shell as well, so there is no limit to what you can do (my favorite theme for SPB MS is the Mobile Sense Espresso)
BTW, very cool about the shop!! Where are you guys located?
We are located in Rochester, NY "The Ski Company" is the name of the store. Where can i get the Microsoft Marketplace?
Also, how do i go about downloading a new theme? I'm so lost with this phone
Edit: I really really like the look of that theme, as well. How do i get it? lol
Edit2: If i get a new theme (say i get that theme linked above) will i still get the weather that moves across my page and everything every so often? That is a feature i really enjoy with this phone.

Microsoft Market should be located in your start menu somewhere.
I find that there are more free apps online so I tend not to use marketplace that much. I download the .cab, copy it to my SD card and then use a file explorer to browse to/install the file. Google is usually good for me, I just search along the following lines "site:forum.xda-developers.com My Search terms". here is my example:
http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source...=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&fp=908f344da1ea5ce4
That specific theme, SPB MS, is actually download-able from the marketplace, a demo version as well. Disable Sense UI (Start > settings > today .. browse to the item tab and uncheck HTC sense) and install SPB MS. After SPB MS is installed download the espresso theme and install that as well. With SPB MS you do not get the animated weather unfortunately, thats one of the benefits of the Manila UI.

[Q] Must have apps

I have checked and havent found something like this yet so if it is out there I'm sorry.
My question is what are some of the apps you have found since rooting your evo that are "Must Have" apps.
Like I know about wireless tether but what else.
I know I could just go to market place and look for apps but that really doenst tell me if they are any good, And I'm sure people here have found apps that they just can live without.
So what have you found that is Must haves? Utilities, social, media, games. anything you consider must have?
Thanx
P.S. I think this is an approriate place to post this but if not could one of the ops move it to the appropriate place, thanx
Nothing? Really?
Check out the link in my sig. The OP has a decent list of apps that I use regularly and other people have posted their lists too.
I forget the name of the app since I have flashed many ROM's since I last used it, but the one "must have" app is the one that pulls in over-the-air local hd tv. It put Sprint TV to shame. Anyone remember what it is called?
Would love to know.

Once you're rooted, do the following mod @ forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=879996 and then you can stream XViD/DiVX movies over the network... that's my favorite.
Dropbox can be run without root, but that is my other must have app...
Search.
This has been asked and answered many times. There area few good threads listing must have apps. I'm on my phone so can't link

[Q] Bought a "rooted" kindle fire. seems like its missing part of the root?

Hey everyone, I have a couple questions about rooting a Kindle fire.
I bought one for my wife off of Craigslist for $100. Great shape. works great. Internet browser works great.
It has several applications installed on it related to GO? Like GO launcher EX and GO store, GO weather themes, etc. I thought I could use the GO store to download apps but everytime I would try to search and download I would get no search results not matter what I typed in the search bar.
The guy I bought it from said I could use Android market on it to download apps but I couldnt find the market anywhere on the tablet.
I assumed it needed installed so I downloaded Root Explorer and was following directions to install android market from a Youtube tutorial. Everything was working great until I needed to "move" an exported file to another file location.
The kindle was not giving me the option to move the file and the tutorial said if I didnt have that option I was not rooted.
So can I "reroot" it and then install android market?
Any advice you can give would be great, sorry if this was covered in another thread.
thanks again! :good:
wow thanks for all the info! really helps! Ill try that asap
And no I do not have a kindle fire. I just bought it for her because she wants to be able to read 50 Shades of Grey whenever she wants....lol

by "the first book" do you mean the bible? that's free on most outlets such as the kindle app which is available from the google play store. nobody here is going to direct you to a link to pirate things though... if you must find illegal copies of books I would try searching for digital copies of the book in question on google

First of all Welcome to XDA.. and great choice. Note 2 is amazing.
Start slow. If this is not your first android, then start with what apps you already had on your prior phone,
Go thru all the settings, some of them are very cool.
Try the motion sensor help and tutorials.
If this is your first android get used to the android world. Key is to not hurry. and you will learn and get used to things.

hello and welcome to xda !
first of all try read to learn about amazing android features (root, flashing, etc)
if you have any question, ther's Q&A section
and don't forget to search before asking because i bet that all your questions had been asked before :fingers-crossed:
Hi there and welcome. To add on to what the other guys said, the best way to go is to just look through all the menus and get familiar with where the various settings and options are and what they do.
Look up some blogs or posts that go over the basics of android and customisation. For example alternative home screens like apex launcher and Nova launcher are quite popular and really great if you want to make your home screen really stand out.
Also look into alternative keyboards if you find that the stock keuboard doesn't suit you to well. Keyboards like swift key and thumb keyboard are quite popular.
And as someone else already mentioned, going through the q&a section is a good way to learn about any issues and questions others have already asked.
Have fun

Just get used to it. Don't rush. I also bought this great gadget a few weeks ago. If you are an avid reader download Kindle, Kobo, Aldiko Premium, or UB Reader and enjoy thousands of books. Look which browser suits you best. Download Opera Mobile, truly great browser. Download Polaris Office from Samsung Apps or get Quickoffice Pro or Kingsoft Office from Google Play. Get app Note Everything, looks like a must have app.
