[Q] Mods & Effects APPs? - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Got two simple questions... Does we androids have this kind of app?
The sleep effects would look nicer in our EVO, do we have that app? What the name?
Other question was does exist other effect like the APP 3D drawer from Launcher PRO?
Or something like this...

Yeah in the new update, i also download homescreen 3d and has a awsome 3d Drawer but it lacks of a homescreen.
Also cannot find any sleep effects....
Another Question... Is there any hacks or something to put sounds when i Lock or unlock my phone?

Turn on the 3d drawer in launcher pro menu/preferences/advanced settings then use 3d drawer. I turned my opening speed all the way down.
Check out a gingerbread rom(like cm7) they have a screen off animation.
On thing I want to point out is that they have the speed on that turned WAY up

Theres a bunch of stuff you can do for lock/unlock sounds. go to settings/sound and check screen lock sounds. Below is a tutorial to replace the stock unlock sound via root explorer(if you don't want to pay for root explorer you look up how to push stuff with adb), be warned though they don't work out as well as you would like. Like when I did mine way back in the yesteryear of summer/fall I got some stuttering about every 10-15 times i did it, which was obnoxious cause I had the star trek communicator sound.

Thanks for the aswer. Just what I was looking for!

How do you change the Lockscreen Wallpaper?

Although it says in Settings > Personalize "Choose... lock screen wallpaper", there is no way to actually change the image. On earlier versions of HTC Sense for Android you could have a different picture on the lock screen and as a wallpaper, but not now. Another backward step or am I missing something?
I saw it also, the information is still in the user manual by the way, but not possible.
Is there a way to have the weather widget on lockscreen?
Thanks for your help
Nothing on my menus for lock screen...would be nice but tbh I'm not that fussed
I want to be able to change it too. I rather liked that feature on my Hero

I downloaded LockBotPro... its a good app an there's a decent amount of customization you can do to the lock screen... add your own wallpaper, lock slider & sound effect but shame its not compatibile with the AndWobble app, that would of made it a thousand times better
Is it possible to have live/animated lock screen themes with LockBotPro?

EDIT: Sorry, I see now I can't...until it's rooted at least...

Not sure, but i would hardly imagine anyone having a go at it, people are trying to run away from live wallpapers to save up some battery life
This feature worked for me, and was present in the settings menu. ALthough I noticed at some point that my lockscreen image was not what I set it to, and the menu option was not there anymore......
I went back expecting the menu option to be there but it wasn't. Wonder whats going on. The feature was there and it worked for me...

Stop tilt?

I've tried Google without any luck..so I'm guessing this is a no..but I'm trying to find an app that disables tilt in certain situations only. I know I can disable tilt thru the settings..but that disables tilt EVERYWHERE. I'm just looking to disable tilt on my homescreen..while still being able to tilt while browsing Interwebz and whatnot. Seems like it should be an easy enough function..considering BB's have an app for it. Anyone have any suggestions?

Ok 1 - Android is not BlackBerry. Not even on the same level as one another, so just get that out of your head.
Second off, wtf do you mean on your homescreen? Sense doesn't turn landscape unless you changed the Skin to one built with landscape. Just switch it to the stock HTC skin, problem solved, it never goes landscape unless you open the keyboard.
If you're not using Sense (CM 6.1 or something) check the settings, as it usually has a way to disable homescreen rotation in their own personal settings.
Try CM6. It has the option for a custom power control widget to be embedded into the statusbar. You can put a toggle for rotation too. You loose the sense home and widgets though, but imo stock > sense. Or you could try quickdesk and put a rotation toggle widget on it.

Orly? Android isn't Blackberry? Good to know.
So lets begin...in order to "hide" all the bunk apps because I wasn't rooted, flashed, s-offed etc yet (all the things necessary to remove said apps) I had to download Launcher Pro (which was highly recommended). As soon as this was done..then yes..I was no longer able to use stock Sense. So now..my homescreen always tilts on me..which bugs the **** outta me. Could I just go back to stock Sense? Sure I could..but I'd rather have what should be a basic app to allow me to pick and choose where and when I'd like my screen to tilt. And I've grown to like how my homescreen looks over the stock look. Yes..I can disable autotilt in the settings..but then I can't even tilt the screen into landscape for the browser. So maybe I'm missing something here that someone else can point out..

I am on a stock ROM myself still, but I know that Cyanogen has a lot of customisation options. I wonder if it's worth asking in the CM thread over on the G2 side (because the DZ one is dead) out whether that has options that might help you ?
You want to disable "rotation" all over your phone AND to be able to use the browser in Landscape mode.
If that is the only thing you want, you can set your browser to "landscape mode only"
Now if you have a longer list of requirements on what apps get permisions to rotate the screen etc, I think you may bigger problems

there was nothing offensive or said with an attitude in this post. it was only til you noobs came on here with misplaced android pride. he didnt compare berrys to droids. he simply said they have an app for it.
this is a great question. the tilt function seems almost too sensitive. it would be great to maybe tweak it somehow to make it so you really have to hold the phone sideways....instead of slightly tilt the phone. an app to block it in certain situations is good but i feel that id have to micro manage too much to specify every single situaiton id want tilt or not.
for the record... i'm am a die hard android user and his post did not push my buttons at all. this post is very useful.
ADW launcher has an option in system preferences for home screen orientation.
Just change it from auto to portrait, that's what I did.

Wow no one answered your question. Well here it is, when you are on the home screen hit the Menu - Behavior Settings and uncheck Enable Auto-Rotation.
That will disable auto rotation on the home screen. Now go into Settings - Display and make sure Auto-rotate screen is checked. This way you will be able to but your screen into landscape mode when surfing the web or using apps that auto rotate. Now if you want to be able to choose specific apps, that I have no knowledge of doing. Hope this helps.

Tasker (on the Market) can be set up to enable/disable auto-rotation on many different triggers, like when a certain app is launched. Plus it can do a lot more that that! Check it out I think it's well worth the money.

Excellent.
Glad I could help. I know I was having the same issue at one point in time and it was very annoying. I didn't want to give up on Launcher Pro because the widgets are awesome and it gave me "sense" on my stock android! If you haven't played with Launcher Pro Plus, you should give it a whirl. The widgets that are unlocked with it are definitely top notch.

This is the correct answer if using Launcher Pro, I'd assume it would be pretty similar for adw launcher too.

The crazy thing is I actually NEVER played with ADW, yet I keep hearing how really good it is. So good in fact, that some custom ROMS have it built in. Would you recommend it?

Not only those but what about the Friendstream widget? It is damn near an exact replica of the sense widget. I also like how when you use the picture frame widget, you can resize it. That feature is only available on LPP not LP.

Every time I try ADW I am always disappointed with the jerkiness/lack of smooth scrolling. I try it once every few months but never stuck with it.
Definitely Launcher Pro for me, smooth, customisable, practical,... who could ask for more?

[Q] Horizontal scrolling in app drawer?

Hi guys,
I've got used to the Google/Nexus way of scrolling horizantally in the app drawer. Is there any way to do this in Sense 6?
Thanks!
I would also like to know about this, it sounds like a reasonable feature that HTC could implement if requested.

i think the only way would be a launcher like apex
I don't care so much about scrolling as I do about having a way to jump from page to page without having to swipe thru all of them. Sammy allowed you touch one of the page dots at the bottom of the screen to jump directly to a page.
I haven't used an HTC in ages prior to this, so maybe I'm just missing something. But I haven't seen how to do that yet.

Using V10 Second Screen App Shortcut for Quick Popup Widgets

Using the app called Popup Widget, I'm able to quickly place any kinds of widget directly on the second screen, since we can easily move back and forth app shortcuts from the second screen and home screen, but that mainly applies to the stock launcher only, tried with Nova, but didn't work. Anyways, here's a video showing an example of creating widget and placing it into second screen and works fine.
https://youtu.be/mX-diQEANw8
The app is called Popup Widget, and can be found on the Play Store.
Credits @klark1kent for the idea of implementing custom widgets on the second screen using Zooper and Tasker apps. If you want, you can head over to his thread in the link below for an in-depth guide using Zooper Widgets
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/themes-apps/screen-custom-app-icons-widget-t3269726
Update: So, I've created a new video that actually allows you to add more icons/shortcuts to the second screen. So take a look over at the link below.
https://youtu.be/nuo0IAhwUR0
The app is called SiMi Folder Widget, and can be found on the Play Store.

Usually what I'd do since you can easily toggle between different launchers via settings, just switch to the stock launcher, place it in then change back.

The idea was actually from your thread, so got to thank you for that idea that you actually came up, and I was looking around for other alternatives instead of using Zooper and Tasker, and Popup Widget sort of solves the issue for me. And also having to place any kind of widgets on your second screen really helps in situations where you wouldn't want to get kicked out of other apps, let's say if you are messaging and you want to quickly see some new tweets to freshen up.

That's exactly what I said in thr original thread. I used popup widget also but hey I'm happy you liked the idea and clearly I didn't create a guide initially because I wanted to get it out to the community as soon as possible anyway I agree the options are endless... The only thing about just using popup which I alluded to in the other post is that it wasn't working with other launchers and zooper allows you to create your own widgets and add them to popup instead of relying on system default widgets. Let's keep the innovations coming though but yeah I was surprised you essentially jacked the idea with zero credit. Thanks for making it right

Is there a way to make popup widgets using the stock apps like favorite contacts and LG Health?
I haven't tried, but would think you could make a widget from Zooper, then use Popup widgets utilizing your custom zooper widget

As those are LG-based Widgets, which is lockdown only to stock launcher, Popup Widget can't recognize it as a proper widget, only universal ones work.
Hence sadly it's not possible to actually get those into the second screen.

[SHARE][NO ROOT]Latest Xperia Apps

Hello!
So, here you go: [CM/AOSP][NO ROOT]] Latest Xperia App for non stock ROM
There says about CM/AOSP, however, I've installed Launcher, Music and Weather without any problems on stock Crapwiz 5.1.1 and are running flawless. The other apks should work as well.
I didn't try on CM/AOSP rom, but should work since are meant for that.
There aren't any screenshots, but there's a post with a YouTube video showing the apps: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71689269&postcount=1051 .
PS: Xperia launcher is so smooth and it's ram usage is similar as TW one. It has some customization options too, like icons support, double tap anywhere on empty space on homescreen to turn screen off.
Launcher is awesome!
Too bad there is no option to set app launch animation, you can't get system animation.
