I'll report back soon.

yay nice to see another android dev on the scene, welcome

please another mirror for downloading...i cant download it -.-

Hi,
Thank you so much. This is the best nand sense rom that i have come across so far. I love that you decided to bundle Data2EXT with Stock Desire.
Aside from some wakeup lag (bearable), I haven't been able to find any problems.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks
Mostly, i dont have lag on power, though it seems to be a common Sense build issue, anyway i did put some kernel updates on post #3.
I used all the day my build with SetCpu @ 1190 without problem and lags and battery is fine, worth a try .
Check in first post what radio i'm using, maybe changing it can help.

Looks good, tempted to download as the build I'm using at the moment doesn't work with MDJ S10.3.
Maybe, you could include a stock framework and stock fonts for stock lovers?

No problem......i will make an update with both stock fonts and framework.

build looks nice - this is my second nand flash both desire based.
The first worked perfectly and then i installed yours so i could get the sd memory but now im finding that alot of the apps that previously worked no longer do and i have also lost contacts.
The previous build was lightning fast whereas this seems to have a slight lag.
Do you think i have done something wrong? And should i download those 2 updates

Which build you was using?
Looking at your reply i suppose that you was using a non Data2Ext build, so it is normal:
_ Loosing App and Data if not a previous backup with Titanium backup,Mybackup,...
_A little lag, because Data are on SD card.

No, it wasnt a d2ext build (DFT's Desire build)
I guess you are right and i should expect lag etc
Am i right to assume that the apps that i find that arent working are doing so because they dont support a2sd? or should they 'believe' that they are on the rom?
I find that a large number of them, when i try to load them, just flash up the screen asking me to force close them.
Basic apps that should always run like Lookout security (worked previously) but only works intermittently now and i keep having to register apps such as the Android Market.
Also i cant seem to save contacts.

I dont know if there are apps that doesn't support a2sd but i just gave a try to Lookout Security and it does work as expected and i also can save contacts without any problem.
My guess is that you have something wrong with your SD card partition, read again the Readme.txt for "how to" partition it and before flash again the build, give a wipe from Clockworkmod menu.

yeah i think that's what i will do.
Although i followed all the steps - im sure i must have gone wrong somewhere.
I was also finding that some of the games dont save my progress.
I'll let you know how i get on.
Thanks for your help

thanks for this rom seems to be the best desire rom, only one thing can you increase usb transfer speed?Markinus has done this with his rom, thanks again

Thanks
Anyway USB transfer it is already patched, though i've seen that it is slow while using Multi Mount SD card.apk, can't go over 2,00 mb/s.

Hi,
Sorry to join that late but I was conviced that the desire HD had the closest hardware to the HD2.
Now knowing it is not would you be king to provide a working link ?

LeeDroid 3.0.x FAQ [UPDATE 23/04 - v3.0.3]

This is a summary of most useful and repeated info in main thread about ROM LeeDrOiD V3.0.x GB | Android 2.3.3.
Updated until April 23.
I've been reading most of the "ROM LeeDrOiD V3.0.x GB | Android 2.3.3" main thread , but have not installed it myself. Not in a beta testing mood. So decided to help instead by compiling what seems to be a FAQ, derived from that thread - so that the main thread needn't be polluted by always the same questions.
This is not meant to be complete. If an answer isn't clear enough, it's because more info is out there, either on Google, XDA or e.g. on http://leedroid.com/bravo-wiki/
All credit goes to Leedroid, and the experts answering on the main thread. I'm just compiling info - hopefully to slow down the rate of always-the-same posts in the main thread.
NOTE: do not use this thread to ask new questions. Only to debate the correctness of the FAQ.
* if you report a problem/success, make sure to mention your version of: HBOOT, recovery, S-OFF/ON, PVT (1-4) (if PVT4 also erasesize), did you wipe before flash, what was your previous ROM, etc, ...
* best way to install LeeDroid 3.x A2SD+ ROM:
- optionally backup all your apps with data (e.g. Titanium)
- optionally backup all your contacts, sms, apn's, etc (whatever is not saved in the cloud) - various apps out there.
- optionally nandroid backup (recommended for an easy way back if it fails)
- make sure to have HBOOT 0.93x
- flash new recommended radio (32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08), reboot to previous rom. Check radio version in Setting / About Phone
- set up your SD card with a (1st) primary partition FAT-32 and (2nd) primary EXT partition (512MB-2GB)
- from recovery: wipe all partitions (data, app, cache, dalvik) (except if coming from earlier Leedroid 3.x)
- flash the "Convert sdext to EXT3" zip (unless you know exactly why you don't want to - e.g. if you want to keep EXT4).
- flash the LeeDroid ROM
- reboot, wait, could take 5-20 minutes
- enjoy.
* ROM is only partially multi-lingual (system language). (is based on a leaked test ROM directly from HTC, many languages incomplete. Can't be fixed)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12968676&postcount=341
* IMPORTANT: so far, nobody with HBOOT 0.75 or 0.80 has reported success. It always hangs on boot. Solution: get HBOOT 0.93x.
Option 1) flash latest RUU (you will need to re-root also then). E.g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13056537&postcount=1457
Option 2) Get it via AlphaRev S-OFF
* If you are S-OFF (alpharev.nl), make sure to have the default "stock" partition table sizes (Bravo Stock 250M/40M/147M).
* partitions of your SD card: (1st) primary partition FAT-32 and (2nd) primary EXT partition (the EXT partition should be 512MB-2GB; for most users, 512MB-1GB is plenty enough). Experts highly recommend Gparted (use align to MiB option; this is a Linux application, but easily used from a boot CD/USB for Windows users). (You may want to research this issue if you're new to it, is out of scope for this FAQ). Esp. if you didn't use Gparted, it's highly recommended to use the "Convert sdext to EXT3" zip -> will align the partition for faster read/writes.
* many people reporting ROM failing to boot/flash, fixed it by running the "Convert sdext to EXT3" zip. This will align & format in your EXT partition.
* Which recoveries work? So far, no special comments. CWM 2.5.x or AmonRa 2.0.0/2.0.1 seems ok. For some, flashing with recovery CMW 3.0.0.5 leads to boot hang, but others say it works.
* Several programs force close (e.g. angry birds ) when run from SD. Fix: move app to phone (Settings / Application Manager). Note that on an A2SD+ ROM, having the "app on phone" really means that app is on the EXT of the SD, so that's exactly what you want! ("App on SD card" as used in the Settings / Application Manager is an inferior method of saving data space)
* Gingerbread - Handcent: no LED. Known problem. Works with Green LED, not with Blue LED (in Handcent settings). Some say this can also be worked around with GO SMS and/or Led me know - search main thread for more.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13000559#post13000559
* Menu (button) to wake is problematic. This feature was added in LeeDroid 3.0.2. Only works for a short time after the screen lock. Lee's working on it.
* for some apps, restoring from Titanium *INCLUDING app's data* will lead to app FC. if so, delete app's data via Settings/Applications
* Adobe Flash Player / iplayer (BBC UK) problems? Redownload Flash Player from Market. Some say "it worked but only until the next boot!"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12986992#post12986992

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13005263#post13005263
* Some people had problem until they wiped (write zeroes) the EXT partition from Partition Wizard, and reformatted (no need to touch the FAT32). Probably easier fixed with the EXT3 zip.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13003478#post13003478
* Some say "Swype needs to be switched on after every reboot"
* (sibere/droidzone's) Data2SD flashable zips DO NOT work on LeeDroid 3.
* EXT4 does not work with the leaked ROM (HTC). EXT4 support was added in LeeDroid 3.0.2. However, many have said that EXT4 is readable but can still not be used as A2SD partition with 3.0.2..
3.0.3 should bring improved EXT4 support - waiting for user reports!
* Compass is broken (doesn't point in right direction). (one user report that it works with older Radio)
* Visually it's almost identical to Froyo Sense, because it's still the same Sense version (some say 1.9) from Desire stock Froyo (with a few feature (text copying?) as in Desire HD Sense). Supposedly the Gingerbread improvements are under the hood (better memory management, speed, battery). Nobody knows whether future real/leaked ROMs from HTC will include a later Sense version (as in Desire HD or S)
* Gingerbread contains new feature "fast boot" which resembles hibernate... if enabled, you can't go into recovery on boot with the usual key presses...
(1) Try Settings > Applications > Turn off Fast Boot. (2) Or use ROM manager's (included with LeeDroid 3.x) "reboot to recovery" feature. (3) Or use Restart and hit vol- the moment screen goes black.
* Data++ can be made to work... but requires editing ROM before flashing. See main thread post by anderl78*
* Do I need to wipe? Some users say it works without (when coming from Leedroid 2.4) - if you feel adventurous, try yourself, but if problem, go back and wipe. (and report). This depends on how "different" your current ROM is.
Specific to 3.0.3
- see changelog on 1st post in main thread.
- No wipe required from 3.0.2
- No locale modifications yet, we will need a new WWE build from HTC
- no change on the menu/trackpad to wake...
- Many report that upgrade/uninstall of app via Market leads to soft reset. (but that install of new apps works). ==> update: there's a specific patch for that in main thread OP.
- compass still pointing in the wrong direction
good overview,well done mate!
i seem to be one of the few lucky individuals who was able to flash 3.0.2 without any problems whatsoever
Nice piece of work, thanks for that!
Could you add one other point? You DONOT need to disable fastboot to get back to recovery. ROMANAGER is pre installed, just open it up and select boot to recovery.
really useful thread mate!
Not sure if this is just mine or not, but when downloading apps from Market, it says "starting download" throughout the whole time it is downloading it whereas it used to show the progress of it..
Well done mate. Worth mentioning that reinstall flash works only until reboot on s-on phones,as you need to be s-off to edit system folder.
Reboot to recovery, either use Rom manager or normal restart and as soon as all light go out just hold -vol button.
Market downloads but doesn't do anything else-SOLUTION: clear market data/cashe

Success
100% working, no fc's or problems flashing ROM (small problem with wake from menu/trackball commonly reported). Flashed newest radio before flashing ROM, came from LeeDroid 2.4
Read some people with old HBoot are going back to newest stock RUU to get 0.93, making life a little easier by starting from square one and then going through the procedure of root and s-off.
SD formatted Ext3 using GParted (it's a great tool)
Excellent thread, lots of waste of space questions in the main thread!

I second that, I came from ReflexTsense HD 1.8, as I only use EXT3 I didn’t have any of the problems I too can confirm the menu > track pad wake only works for a brief period but everything else is SOLID.
If your coming from a custom ROM I suggest you use MyBackUp Root to back up and restore all data (sms, contacts, settings, etc etc) and apps as I installed LeeDrOid 3.0.2 then downloaded a file manager, installed MyBackUp Root and I have been up and running with no FC’S. I do miss the features of a Desire HD ROM as it allows you to install some awesome Sense skins and just because of Sense 2.1 on HD ROMS, I am tempted to go back.
Thanks again for the FAQ dude.

Nice work!
Desire hardkey backlight
Thank you for the comprehensive FAQ.
1. Could you please advise if there's a mod or some other solution (prefereably non-battery-intensive) to turn off hardkey backlight on htc desire with Leedroid 3.x?
I tried "LED's hack" app but it pops up "superuser access granted" all the time + mentions that it can be battery-intensive. Maybe there's an alternative way, a patch of some sort, or a terminal command?
2. Lee says that LED backlight was tweaked. Still not good enough for many night users - too bright; is there a way to add led backlight custom level tweak functionality seen in CM?
3. Mainpage says "smartass\interactive governors used, selectable by SetCPU". Anybody happens to know what CPU governors \ values are used in screen off state? I assume smartass is on by default for screen on.

What about reading 2 post above yours? THAT is lazy mate.
Can I suggest that you ask people to format and partition their card using G-Parted via Linux/Ubnuntu boot CD - I think this is a better method than using the zip align and I'm guessing the reason that many people didn't have issues was that they originally partitioned their card via this method in the first place.
It worked for me when zip align didn't, I tried re-partitioning using AMON RA 2.0.1 and zip align and no joy.
Nice thread. Was certainly getting messy in the main thread.

I think you have misunderstood what I was saying..
Whilst a new app is currently downloading and you go to the "My Apps" list, it will constantly say "Starting download" as opposed to showing the progress of the download. Once the download has been completed the app does still install..
I've tried clearing data/cache but it doesn't change it.
Easy recovery - restart phone and hold volume down once screen goes off
Guys, for new issues is better to put it in leedroid main thread where more experts see it. This thread is to collect and summarize known info. And to feedback on FAQ.
I will update OP tonight or latest tomorrow eve
Ps: Thx for feedback and suggestions to improve

does this rom have compatibility with htcsense.com ?
^^^^No.
From the latter post it looks like people who don't have any problems flashing this rom are on hboot 0.93 and amonra 2.0.0/2.0.1 or older cwm 2.5.xxxx recovery, regardless of s-on or s-off.

[BUILD] XDAndroid Froyo 2.2.2 FRX06 for CWM Recovery 1.8 (ClockWorkMod)

THIS BUILD IS OUTDATED, CHECK:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1177721
I'd like to "present" my recompilation of XDAndroid FRX06 to work with Neopeek's CWM 1.8
No credit for me, but for all XDAndroid devs and Neopeek &co for this.
It doesn't have any other modifications apart from making it available to install from CWM, so everything that applies to FRX06 is useful here. You're the one to decide if you prefer looped or partitioned installs.
Don't try this if you don't know what you're doing. It's only tested by me, so what I'm looking for are TESTERS. PLEASE READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY BEFORE DOING ANYTHING.
Normally it would be easy to return to previous state by repartitioning/formatting SD, but who knows. I take no responsability for any damage to your device.
The instructions for installing CWM are in Neopeek's forum. Only points:
1.- My partition schema, for 8Gb SDCard, is:
1st partition: FAT32 (sdcard / Rest)
2nd partition: EXT2 (system / 150MB) Contains /system - the base ROM
3rd partition: EXT2 (data / about 400 MB) Used as device's internal memory. You can use more if you install a lot of non-movable apps, but between 4 and 500 should do.
4th partition: EXT2 (cache / about 100MB) Dalvik's cache. 100 should be enough
I used Minitool Partition Wizard for the partitioning.
2.- Startup.txt, ts-calibration, kernel and modules must be in the same dir as haret.exe, in this case inside "npkboot" dir.
3.-To move in the CWM menu with our Blackys:
Peteflyman said:
I just toggle between "Reboot system now", push "Vol Up" to get directly to "Power off", and then toggle "Vol Down" to get back to "Reboot system now". I just do that a couple of times then "Back menu button enabled" usually shows up. That's it. Hope it works for you guys as well!
Click to collapse
After the "back menu button enabled" you can use power off button to confirm menu selection. Just select "install zip from sdcard", "choose zip from sdcard" and choose my zip (ofc, don't uncompress it).
4.- You don't need to install Gapps, they're included in the build.
5.- After installed, "reboot system now" and start haret again. Let it work for a while without touching anything until you see PIN or unlock screen to begin using Android.
6.- I'd recommend rebooting a second time before starting to configure everything...
It should work in any device where CWM and XDAndroid work, but the configurations I attach here are for TOUCH HD (Blackstone). If you want to try with other devices, be careful to use the appropiate config files (they shouldn't be difficult to find in your device's forum).
I'm using 1337 kernel & modules from Glemsom's autobuild and it works perfectly with my device, feel free to use the one that suits you better.
Download link:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SUBUG5I8
If you have any problem, I'll try to help, but for CWM problems please ask in their forum as you'll find better assistance.
Huh. I guess I'll give it a shot - I cooked a build with CWM & FRX06, was force close city. Tried to fix it, but not hard... Just chalked it up to CWM being crappy since I was able to run FRX06 on dedicated partitions no problem .
if you want to install any other build,or reinstall frx06,go to recovery, choose mounts and storage, then format data, format cache, format system (don't format sdcard for obvious reasons) and then mount data, cache, system,go back and install zip from sd card, choose your zip.
also if you find a build without gapps,go to cyanogenmod.com and grab it there, you should pich gapps for cyanogenmod 6 because that's the froyo build....MDPI or HDPI doesn't matter in our case
many problems are result of gapps missing (some builds come without them, this one doesn't) such as call rejecting or showing black screen instead of lockscreen when you wake the device,so be sure to install them

Then the only difference you'll notice is that you have CWM recovery Anyway, it works pretty well for me, and since I can now write updater-scripts I'll be able to change things very easily
Edit: Now I only have to learn to compare directories to be able to give incremental updates when FRX07 and so on come out!

If I think I can add something of value, I'll make another package to make clear they're different things But for now, I can't add anything (that works)

you can at least start with
/system
/app (add or remove apps)
/fonts (obvious)
/framework (the "look" of the build is defined here,so if you want your froyo to look like ginger, take some of the ginger files and swap with those in this one)
/media (it'll tell you what to do by itself)
other folders are build regarded and some playing and asking pros is advised here

It's a vanilla Froyo, identical to FRX06, so I didn't think they were needed. Just look at any basic original Froyo install.

If it has no C2, C4 etc then it's a "classless" card. I have several, seems any card below 2gig that was sold before a certain time are classless.

Well, I can't tell because I'm in android now and can't extract it XD Never had the curiosity to check.
Let me see... Yeah, it has a "2" inside sort of a "C", so it must be a C2 8Gb SanDisk MicroSDHC lol
Working on FRX07 update.zip to test if it works with CWM
Hi Eodun,
Looking forward to the FRX07 CWM!
Do you think that it is required that Neopeak updates the roofts to the latests version?
regarding your FRX06 CWM, I have a quick question. It is possible to use my old data.img from the normal FRX06?
I guess that it may be possible to copy it on the data EXT2 partition but I can't access via windows XP.
Also tried restoring using CWM (I did a backup and replaced the data.img), but I get a checksum error. Any way to change the checksum to be able to do it?
Thanks in advance

I don't think so. But if you backup everything with titanium backup and then restore apps, appdata and system settings (only those that appear in green) you'll have everything as before.

Just grab the FRX07 update.zip from XDAndroid and you're golden... stine makes updates for recovery, which should work fine for CWM.

Confirm it updates correctly, but there are some problems with the old Kernel/rootfs.
I can't get wifi to work and I can't turn the device off.

@arrrghhh: Yeah, I know the update is available, but ypsmav noticed the problem: I need the new rootfs for CWM, and I'm not able to adapt it. As I said, work is being done for that.
Thanks for your replies
Ps It will be a big problem if latest kernel doesn't boot. I haven't been able to boot with it. Edit: But still have to check if it boots with a clean data.

CWM NEOFroyo v0.1 fastest build yet (updated8/21/11))

This is a complete package just unzip folder on sd card.
Here is original thread by neopeek
people having wifi problems check the original thread they have a fix
This is the CWM 1.9 thread wich is included in folder already
Using starfox test kernel from XDA (Rhodium only)
EDIT: per starfox dont use test kernels use his new vanilla stable kernel
GAPPS already included.
Im not a dev, just put stuff together credit goes to all authors just posting here to spread the word
DOWNLOAD
Sure, I'll bite. I've got an extra micro-sd card here. What's the worst that could happen?
It's a pretty fast build, I tried it on Neopeeks site.
It is MDPI, so the look of it isn't quite as crisp... (you can see what I mean by the notification bar 3g, etc...lower resolution basically) but I was impressed by the speed. All the animations, etc are disabled by default and I believe that's Zeam that is the default launcher... it is quite snappy out of the box.
what tweaks you did?
no tweaks just put it together
This version is the fastest thing I've tried (probably due to mdpi-gapps), but I have two major issues.
1) Wifi will sometimes refuse to turn on, saying wifi error on the check box. It must be related to tethering and hotspot settings, because after I mess with these I get an instant reboot.
2) Camera is tremendously unstable. Most of the times it crashes bringing down the entire OS or if I am lucky it will crash the camera app and refuse to start again until a reboot.
Of course there are random hiccups here and there (like most builds), but it is quite close replacing WM for every day usage.

This is actually not that unusual... I would get this on my epic4g... which is an android phone .
If you don't mind, please use the vanilla kernel that I posted instead of the testing kernel. While I don't mind that it is being bundled, the [Test] kernel was never meant to be used for long term, and is liable to include stuff that is unstable and/or changed on my whim. The vanilla kernel contains some of the tweaks that I consider to be stable and is based on known autobuild releases+supports all devices. Thanks.

There's nothing stopping you from doing that.
Including testing stuff into a public build is never a good idea. I wouldn't appreciate anything I distribute for testing to be put into a build. It's meant for testing, so anyone that installs/uses it should know full well what they're getting into. Placing it into a build circumvents that, and everyone ends up using it unknowingly.

Can't get CWM working
Hey guys,
I must be doing something wrong, but don't know what.
I just can't get CWM running on my TP2. I followed all the instructions precisely, got into CWM once, even flashed the ROM from SD card, but can't do it again.
I even reflashed my device, Re did the entire SD card but just can't get in to CWM.
Upon booting Haret, I press volume down, but the screen just gets stuck there and doesn't move forward. Please help, I'm trying to flash NeoFroyo 0.1

Yes I did that too....
SD Card (All Partitions Primary)
Partition 1: 6.4 GB - FAT32
Partition 2: System - 300 MB - EXT2
Partition 1: Data - 300 MB - EXT2
Partition 1: Cache - 300 MB - EXT2
I put the npkboot folder with startup for RHOD100 on the SD Card (Root) and the NeoFroyo Zip also on the root.
Plus, I also put the contents of the npkboot folder on root of the phone. (Not the folder npkboot)
Run Haret from SD Card through File Explorer & press Volume Down - Result: Frozen Screen!!!
Does not enter into CWM recovery...
Are all the steps above right.

I'm a little confused with what you did.
Basically just unzip his folder you downloaded and then move the Entire npkboot folder to the root of ur sd card.
So there will be nothing on your sd card except the folder. Inside that folder will be everything just as you unzipped it. So for example haret would be at "Sdcard/npkboot/haret.exe". Then just switch/edit the startup.txt in the npkboot folder for your phone and boot into CWM.
You don't need to move anything outside of his npkboot folder that you unzipped.

[GUIDE][KANG] Android Boot-From-SD w/ GAPPs and Play Store

This is a re-pack based on Catherall's own guide here: [GUIDE] Booting an Android System when only Recovery is at your disposal
The main difference from his copy (cyanogenmod 7.1):
- Google Apps (20110828) applied
- Updated to latest Google Play Store (3.7.15)
- update.zip modified to work on 4EXT Touch Recovery (ui disable)
Tested so far off of 4EXT Touch Recovery 1.0.0.5 RC5
What doesn't work and probably will never work unless someone makes new kernel modules for 2.6.35.10 (ie: the .ko files can be placed in the BootManager folder, and then have the init.d scripts edited to load those modules, but thus far none of them have worked for me because they were not built for that exact kernel, I don't know how to compile modules etc).
- Wifi [won't turn on]
- Bluetooth [won't turn on]
- everything else he mentioned in his first post regarding adb/etc
Made this as a new thread because his is quite stale, and catherall hasn't been seen in like forever. And kind of hoping that with the new progress maybe someone will take the time to write up some new gingerbread drivers for this purpose.
If I had the knowledge I would have ported an extremely lightweight Gingerbread Rom to it to be used as sort of a 'emergency-droid' rom, and recompiled kernel modules so that wifi/etc would work.
Instructions
Download the zip, unpack, copy BootManager and update.zip [zip can be renamed] to the SD card. Boot into recovery mode, run the update.zip to start up CyanogenMod 7.1 form the SD Card. (The original README is in the zip)
When you're in for the first time you'll notice the usual Google Apps setup screen, but it'll be in german. To change the language:
Press "Setup abschliben"
Press "Sprache ändern", select appropriate language
Continue the Google Apps setup as usual
It is advised that you do not allow it to automatically let it restore/install your apps as there will be no wifi connectivity and would be done over your data connectivity.
Download Boot_From_SD_wPlay.zip (~135MB)
md5sum : a352017b37bb546ffe0327bbe78304fe
Video from when I was first playing with it (after I put the 4EXT code in, but before I added gapps).

You should be able to modify the the image sizes with BootManager (from the market).... as the free version doesn't see 'Rom8' (which this is mounted), you would have to copy the contents of BootManager/Rom8 to BootManager/Rom1, adjust the image size to 1gb or whatever you wanted... then boot to cwm/4ext mount usb, and use your pc to copy the contents of Rom1 to Rom8 (keep a copy of the original Rom8 somewhere as a backup if it fails)
Never tried it, but it works in my head!
Hope it helps.

This is unlikely without also writing some kind of bootloader on the internal memory to launch from the SD... which of course would require that the internal memory were not in some way damaged. So kind of a catch-22 to what you're asking. Shouldn't be using SD booting as a permanent solution, it's more like a way of still being able to do *some* things while you work out on getting the phone replaced.
And here I thought you and all your work was gone, nice to see ya around kbeezie!

thanks to all the above the dream of runing android on i8000 came true. and because of their job we were expecting faster and faster, more and more efficient and smooth versions.
i followed their path. got a version, modified it, combined the best parts of each ROM and i am offering a new ROM much closer to be complete and less beta.
DETAILS ABOUT THE ROM
It is not based on frenkiedroid as far as i know but followed other path onto chinese ROMS. I think it is faster than any other ROM (tell me if not). It has achived score 1035 on antutu on my class 10 sd card (this is almost the speed of a native android phone using cm6 and this fast hardware)
According to measuments made using Benchmark & Tuning it is up to 56% faster compared to the already fast frenkiedroid
Tested
bluetooth
wi-fi
3g
calling
sms
radio
gps
usb connection
battery lasts up to 2 days

You can try either my ROM or twister2 ROM from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2342764
they are both the same level
the fastest is mine
faster GPS in on mine (ms-based preconfigured)
wi-fi i think works a little better on twister
twister has preloaded facebook etc, while mine has only stock apps
mine has business (single) coloured menus while twister has fancy (multi) coloured menus
if you want to install optional apps that have ads and you are not expert on android then install twister
if you want to install apps that do not have ads (or have ads and you are android expert) you can choose mine
please not that some people mentioned that with my ROM their SIM card was not recognized. i am not sure if the same for your SIM, your country.
Only two ROMS to choose. so you need only a few hours to try them both and make your decision. the choise is yours
Samsung i8000 (omnia2) android cm6new rom v4
as I promised long ago to publish
SAMSUNG I8000 (OMNIA2) ANDROID CM6NEW ROM Version 4
- Support even more SIM
- Speed improvement - response
- Corrected some errors
- Upgrading of most programs
- Show ics (ice cream sandwich - android 4.0.X)
- Arrangements for energy savings
The new enhancements took me some time and study. I8000 reaches its limits due to its old drivers that are already written for mobile identical hardware with it.
Hope you like it and I expect opinions and suggestions to version 5 if there will be any further developments. Otherwise I will try to assist in the plan for android 2.3 on our mobile.
Explanation photo below
1 = home screen (the background is black on purpose because the amoled screen thus consumes less energy. If you want to change select another background with as many black dots. Black and not just dark color.)
2 = dialer with ics theme, search function names and support many languagesk. Make it default dialer if you like it
3 = new android ics Task Manager (task manager). Appear with long press of home button. If you do not like replace it with the Advanced Task Manager or ICS Task Manager / Switcher. To open them again by long pressing the central button select Settings / Cyanogenmod Settings / Input / Long-press home settings / select custom application
4 = ics camera
5 = menu ics (holo launcher)
6 = ics settings
For those who want even more contemporary look can choose Active lockscreen or Holo Locker
I tried installing this on my Omnia II.
I successfully create the partitions on my SD card, but when I go to starting the process with the ROM file, it comes back with the error message:
"The image file requires an updated version of this program."
I grabbed the latest version just to try it, and I need to purchase a key to make it work.
Yes, I reset my computer clock to September 1st, 2011. Do i need to reboot the machine after the clock reset?
Everything else so far seems to work fine, and if this works even half as good as I think it will, props to you for getting this done. I hate hate HATE winblows 6.5 on my Omnia II, and always wanted android. I tried a few of the older attempts years ago, but nothing was every stable enough to keep it.

I've just tested it, the same problem I had as others already mentioned. I went back to the version 3, success! So I think the version 4 image is damaged or not correctly made. By the way, the version 3 that did work for me has no microsd card support. You should modify by yourself the startup.txt file to enable the sd card support.
Hope my words can be helpful to others.

i made my ROM to be installed on sdcard with sdcard support. Hundreds of users already installed it and no problems at all. i installed V4 again last night and no problem at all. my phone is i8000 8gb version if you install on storage card YES you should edit startup.txt and also edit vold.fstab and fstab files.
if find some free time from android 2.3 development project testings i will make a Version 5 and on this version i hope minor problems to be solved.
I downloaded the newest version of Image for Windows, which is v2.83 (the one in the package is v2.61), the tool to write the image into the partition ext4, and this time, everything went just like a charm.
I have to admit that the V4 image is a very good one. It's really fast and clean. I think the problem that we had before is caused by the lower version of Image for Windows. V2.61 can't load correctly the V4 image file, which I think is made by a higher version of Image for Windows. With the new version of Image for Windows, it's even not necessary to change the date.
The Chiese ringtones in this ROM are hilarious. I'm a Chinese, they are OK with me. But I think original ringtones would be better for common users, hehehe.
great work , will it work on omnia b7610 too !!

technically yes it can run. but i do not own one to test it myself. you can try yourself and tell us your experiences. test on sd card installation first. it it pretty smooth and fast. you will be amazed. in case it will not work you can always check TwisterV2 ROM also very fast and smooth
see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2342764
alternatively in case you meet some driver conflicts you can always use ubuntu and other ROM's drivers to edit this ROM and make it work for you.

i made my ROM to be installed on sdcard with sdcard support. Hundreds of users already installed it and no problems at all. i installed V4 again last night and no problem at all. my phone is i8000 8gb version if you install on storage card YES you should edit startup.txt and also edit vold.fstab and fstab files.
if find some free time from testings i will make a Version 5 and on this version i hope minor problems to be solved.

I am facing the same issue, I cannot load my Storage Card.
1. I am confuse with term SD Card here. Is it refer to Storage Card or My Storage? Storage Card means external micro sd card, isn't?
2. I followed the instruction and put the Image to Storage Card. How can I activate the Storage Card Support by editting fstab files? Where can I find these files?
3. I had format Partition 1333Mb to ext4 File System, but I wonder why it always turn to ext3 after I restore TBI file(after ImageRecover step). Is it okay?
Thanks.
