Thanks for trying to make me feel like a ****, but rock player play avi files but not through hdmi

The answer is pretty much "No." Only select apps (like Gallery and YouTube) have HDMI out, and only on Sense (stock) ROMs. But really, just searching for under five minutes would have gotten you this answer.

It wasn't possible until just recently. But a developer has done it and will be releasing a public beta very soon. Watch for it to become available.

You are welcome. And btw try system mode in rock player. Not try to make you feel like a ****, just would like people to try searching beforehand. Too many spam threads already.
Sometimes people are just self conscious.

We have enough people getting slammed for mis-using the dev sub-forum (which I appreciate). This is the place to ask questions though. If you don't want to help, don't, but it may end up in the dev section. So please, don't be a **** here.

MKV player with .ass support

Could you please tell me app that can play mkv files and show .ass subtitles? I like to watch anime so that's very important.
I have mVideoPlayer and it works great but it doesnt show subs that translates for example signs.
I tried many others (moboplayer, Rock player, arcplayer, Meridian player)
but they all have the same problem)
Moboplayer works well for me.

mmmh...mines are mkvs with hard-subs generally so have less problems than you i think.
if i remember well long press on the files let you choose the subs.
another way could be to set the encoding characters in mobo options.
UTF-8 generally solves it for me

When i watch anime and song starts playing it shows me lyrics of sonfs trnaslated in english but than it doesnt show subs of what are they talking because it shows lyrics. Lyrcs should be on top and here it shows on bottom. I hope that you understand.

ha yes, i see ^^
had the prob too with some subs in MOBO and haven't found any solution for that.
As far as i know, those kinds of probs came from lazy subbers
i'm already happy to be able to play my files on my phone (saves me the pain to bring a laptop + hard drives at work lol ) so generally i don't bother to much for that on my phone when all is good at home on my computer with CCCP

for that you would be better off ripping off a Blueray movie at 720 or 1080 with MakeMKV then play it on your phone

I ripped Avatar and Rio last night on BluRay in 720p but it could be due to the fact that i was jumping forward so much but the audio seemed slightly off and video didnt seem completely smoothe. One is x264 and the other is XviD.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
which App did you use on the PC to do the ripping?
never use Xvid, it sucks for play back both on PC and phones
x264 is the better choice
if you were using Handbrake, try MakeMKV it's way better and easier to use

Song Title Editing

Just a quick question that I havent come across in the forums. Im an organization freak and I just wanted to know how I can edit the titles of my songs to change them if they arent properly titled. I tried through a file explorer and even better, through root explorer but it hasnt worked. If someone can help it would be appreciated.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
I share the same freakish obsession. My library has over 10,000 titles and all of them are perfectly organized and file named.
The answer is not Android. It is a PC application called MediaMonkey. It will auto-organize all of your music, tag it, rename files and convert them on the fly as it syncs with your mobile devices. There is no better solution at any price, and it is free. Even iTunes users switch after trying it, and they are usually too stubborn to admit that iAnything is not the best.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Haha, yes I can only agree. But thanks this has been something that has been bothering me everytime I open up my music application. Its greatly appreciated. Ill be sure to check it out and report back

I, too, use media monkey. Rather than fixing each song manually, I auto tag from the web, to ensure I get cover art as well. Just stinks to get started, but now I ensure everything is in order as I ingest the songs into my library.
Yeah, I tried tune up but media monkey is free so I cant argue with that. Im getting used to it as we speak.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
For this phase of getting your files in order, look in the directory view and find a folder called Files To Edit (or something like that). It shows various folders of files that are missing important information.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Okay, works great thanks for the help.
Btw, while we're on the topic is there any mp3 downloaders any of you would recommend? I use an app that doesnt really have many of the songs I look for.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Sorry, I'm no help with that. I always buy full CD's and rip them to FLAC. It may be old school, but I have never found an mp3 source that was anything but unsatisfactory. I do convert to mp3, but I use VBR and a high bitrate.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Ahhh, I understand. Well to be honest, l am about to do the same. Itll be much more convienent in many ways.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Depends on the quality you want and how much of an audiophile you are. You could use tubemate to simply convert any video on youtube to a mp3. I have done that with some songs I just can't find elsewhere.
What kind of music are you looking for?
Well I used to do the same with youtube except taking every single song individually grew to be a pain. Im just looking for anything that I feel like listening to at the moment. Im currentley in the process of downloading some of System of a Down's albums. Its usually whatever im in the mood for. But sometimes I use an app on the market and it downloads the song yet the artist and the album are incorrect.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Ah, gotcha, yep, that's the price you have to pay. I tend to make channels in Last.fm, and let it play music similar to bands I like. Found countless new (to me) bands that way.

[Q] MX Player on CM10

Have been following the development with CM10 and I'm aware we don't have HD video drivers in the kernel yet. Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried something like MX Player or another video app with any success on the ROM???
Really the only thing stopping me from putting the Rom on mine is the lack of video. So was wondering what kind of results everyone has had thus far.
Thanks in advance everyone.

If you want me to test anything let me know. I've got time and I'll do it. What kilo said is correct that, but I'm not sure how you find out what uses hardware decoding, so I'll go ahead and test things for now. The only thing I know is confirmed is that netflix will not work, and non-hd youtube DOES work.
