I've made this build based on great prj Clean Desire v0.3.2 build. It has the same features + I’ve added things that I was missing the most:
Clockwork Mod 1.3
Apps2SD+
Evo keyboard
Reboot option in shutdown menu
Notification Menu Power Control Widgets
Un-squashfsed, oxed system app and framework
ROM is rooted (SU app + SU binaries)
Percentage display on battery
Fast and low battery drain
Now you don’t have to worry about decreasing internal storage when you install more application. You don’t also lose access to application when you phone is connected in drive mode to computer, because application data is being hold on ext3 partition on SD card. That partition isn’t mounted when your phone is connected to computer. The things that are redirected to this partition are: /data/app, /data/app-private, /data/dalvik-cache and /data/data.
Requirements:
MAGLDR v1.13
ClockworkMod Recovery v1.3 (included with package)
Changelog:
v1.4
fixed missing APN's and hopefully data connection drop
hopefully fixed low call volume
v1.3
added Notification Menu Power Control Widgets (based on JsChiSurf and mendozinas work; see screenshots; thanks to mini_robot; you can customize this widgets using notification.widgets_signed.zip addon)
hopefully fixed high call volume (thanks to athulag and oyvpet)
added option to install without SD card
now by default after clean installing /data/data folder also will be moved to SD card (you will have more free internal storage; if you'd like to have /data/data on NAND use data2NAND.cmd script from "extras" folder)
v1.2
fixed Angry Birds issue (fixed problem with installing big apps; it needs repartition of NAND; see upgrade info)
v1.1
Supports AD Recovery in MAGLDR (now you have access to ClockworkMod Recovery from NAND partition)
added Evo keyboard as default
added reboot option (normal and hot restart, based on snq- mod) to shutdown menu (see screenshots)
for those who would like to customize their themes I’ve added an optional skink_Clean_Desire_v1.1_update_deodex_signed.zip deodexed package (see addons)
v1.0 initial release
based on prj Clean Desire v0.3.2
basically clean Desire build
removed: Maps, Youtube, GMail, Flash Player, Facebook (these was old version; install what you need using Market)
un-squashfsed, oxed system app and framework
ROM is rooted (SU app + SU binaries)
percentage display on battery
no 60ma drain after call
Wifi mac individual for every device
Smartass governor by default
G-Sensor freeze fixed
low volume in-call fixed

Supported themes:
Carbon Ara V2.5 + Power Control Widget for Sense ROM [UPDATE: 2011.02.11]
If you’re looking for custom themes you can check http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=630 forum, where you can find lots of modifications. Not all will work but you can try (always make CWM backup before). Main reason why it’s not working is old type of META-INF\com\google\android\update-script in update.zip. You have to convert it to updater-script. Please post here any working theme and I’ll update list.
How to install custom theme:
Power on phone holding power button to access to MAGLDR menu.
Select the "AD Recovery" item.
Select the "backup and restore->Backup" item.
After backup will be done select the "reboot system now" item.
Using USB cable connection or SD card reader copy downloaded custom theme zip to root folder of SD card.
Clean /data/dalvik-cache folder (use "rm -rf /data/dalvik-cache/*" in android terminal or in adb shell on pc or Advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache option in CWM).
Reboot phone and hold power button to access to MAGLDR menu while booting.
Select the "AD Recovery" item.
Select the "install zip from sdcard->choose zip from sdcard" item and select downloaded custom theme zip.
After flashing will be done select the "reboot system now" item.
Eventually if something goes wrong use CWM "backup and restore->Restore" item to restore from backup.

1) No.
2) ext3 because of kernel.

Very cool! I think that with this modifications this ROM just became perfect stock Desire ROM. Congratulations!

Everything is ok. It's just how Apps2sd+ work. You have ext3 partition on SD card that you normally don't see under SD & phone storage. On this partition are stored /data/app, /data/app-private and /data/dalvik-cache (eventually /data/data if you use method described under tips). This folders are linked to folders on internal storage. So for android nothing changed, but when you install apps they are physically stored on /system/sd/app, /system/sd/app-private and /system/sd/dalvik-cache. The simplest way to check available space is to use Titanium Backup. On first page you see: Internal Storage free space, SD card free space an SD card (a2sd) free space. (you can also use terminal app and command: df –h)

How add "reboot" option in "long press power button" menu? Or can someone help find app or widjet for phone rebooting, that work whit this build?

Is this ROM rooted? I remember I've tried to make my prj 0.3.2 rom see ad-hoc networks but I didn't manage to replace a "wpa supplicant" file.
Also, I'd like to go back to the good old sense ui in froyo
Pozdrawiam!

no space on device
after boot device on system folder on root explorer free space 13 mb
all steps is ok & partion is created.
and after boot device notific massage :soory! Process sysytem is not responding. force close ... wait
Where is the problem?

On /system partition it should be about 12.3MB free space. This is normal, because this partition is for system use only. The important for user is /data partition and after fresh install it should be about 140MB free space. If you also use “Tip” from first post you get additional free space because /data/data folder is moved to ext3 partition. For example on my phone on which I have almost 50 application installed I still have 147MB free on internal storage (/data partition).
As for message that you received just click wait.

Yes this ROM is rooted. As for this file the problem that you have in prj v0.3.2 appeared because /system partition is mounted as read-only. I can make update.zip for you that you can use as described in addons section and change wpa_supplicant file.

Hi
I just applied you ROM thx.
I've got one problem (so far
After a G-sensor calibration, the screen rotation is wrong. I am not able to calibrate it correctly.

[JAN 25][ROM-ZIP]Stock Desire HD on EU HD2 [A2SD+][CWM][RMNET/PPP][Kernel:MDJ,Gauner]

Hi all,
This is not squashed ROM for EU HD2 which contains all files from the stock RUU_Ace_HTC_WWE_1.72.405.3_R_Radio_12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17_M2_release_161342_signed. Yes of course some executables(akmd, reboot, vold), some libraries, some config files and kernel were replaced for Leo. The reason of why I do this is my wish to have Desire HD ROM on my EU HD2 which is closest to stock.
The ROM size is about 407M. I do not like squashed ROMs. We all have sdcards and I do not see any sense to make squashed ROM. Therefore this build uses the second partition of sdcard to store dalvik cache, data, system apps, framework. So size of this rom in NAND is 391Mb, and in sdcard is 16Mb. I recommend you to use 1024MB second partition, but not less.
My CWM installation script mounts the second partition of sdcard to /data, creates sysfiles directory and copies /system/etc/clockwidget, and /system/etc/slideshow and /system/etc/soundimage to this second partition into /data/sysfiles directory. After that the script creates symbolic links to these three directories in /system/etc direcory, and copies all other files of ROM to system partition in NAND. So we have 391Mb of files in NAND, and 16Mb of files in the second partition of sdcard.
The kernel mounts the second partition of sdcard to /data before the init.rc script will be run. Therefore android use this partition as internal storage, and we see free space of this partition as free phone storage in info.
The content:
- Full stock Desire HD RUU 1.72.405.3
- Last Gauner's kernel.
- Fixed mms.
- Fixed WiFi MAC.
- Fixed su.
- Fixed sql lib.
- Fixed first and external partition mounting.
- Percent battery.
- Rmnet is ON by default, if you would like to enable ppp you should create ppp file in /system directory and reboot your phone. To create the ppp file you should connect your phone to PC and run this command in a terminal:
adb shell touch /system/ppp
You should delete this file and reboot your phone if you would like to enable rmnet again:
adb shell rm -f /system/ppp
Not worked:
- 720p recording
- bluetooth MAC
Removed apps:
- Ereader. Use the attached archive if you would like to use ereader. Install it by CWM.
Link to ereader
"How to install" is in the readme file of the build. Please, read it! This ROM is only flashable using ClockworkMod. CWM v 1.2 is included into archive of this build. Note, system partition in NAND should be 399Mb.
CWM v 1.2 fix:
If you would like to use CWM backup and restore you should replace CWM initrd.gz file on this file. I fixed CWM to soppurting partition layout without userdata partition..
Update the previous version ROM:
If you would like to update the previous version you should not touch your sdcard. You should do this only: format NAND by task29, install magldr, flash new CWM partition layout, install new ROM.
Recommendations:
- I recommend to format NAND by task29 before install this ROM. After formatting will be done you should install magldr again. All tools are included into the archive.
- I recommend to calibrate G-Sensor. To do it go to Seetings->Display->G_Sensor calibration->, place your phone FACE-DOWN on level surface, press Calibrate button. After calibration will be finished press Ok button.
- If you would like to use the "backup second partition" feature in CWM, the second partition should be labeled as sd-ext.
- Sometimes magldr does copying of data with errors(lost data) in the "USB MassStg" mode, but you do not see these errors. Next you can see that the ROM installation was finished shortly. If it happens you should look into CWM log and you will see some errors of files extraction from archive. If you will copy this archive to sdcard again, but only by CWM or by other cardreader, you will not see these errors in CWM log. Therefore I recommend you to copy ROM zip to sdcard by CWM or by other cardreader.
- To get a CWM log you should do this:
a) Install the ROM
b) After the installation will be completed you should not reboot your phone! Go to "advanced" item of CWM menu.
c) Next select "Report Error" item. CWM will create the clockworkmod directory in root of sdcard.
d) Next copy the recovery.log file from the clockworkmod directory and attach this file to the thread. I will check it.
- The first loading(from the phone rebooting moment to appearance of the language choice screen) is long. Be patient, please.
- Please, setup only that you really need during the first boot. Desire ROM is syncing and configuring a lot of stuff during first boot if you have entered your google account. I recommend to setup all needed accounts after initial setup. And, please, let system sync and configure all stuff, next reboot your phone. After this work will be completed the ROM will be fast. I recommend:
a) disable the sync of accounts which are no needed for you, or change "Update schedule" of these accounts.
b) disable the "Back up my setting" for google account if it is no needed for you.
c) disable Automatic brightness and set Brightness to min value.
- Note, please, you can use CifsManager to mount cifs(samba(ms windows))/nfs network resources to your phone. This tool is available in the Market. It allows you to play music or watch movies from any shared resources which are available in your local network without copying this content to your phone. To use it your phone should be connected to local network by WiFi.
Currently I have 2Gb ext4 second partition on my Transcend 6-class sdcard. I can tell the system works properly and fast:

Performance:
Please, look at my video if you would like to see the performance of this ROM.
Download:
EFP v.2 HD2 Desire HD stock (last Gauner's kernel)
Kernels: (only if you would like to replace a kernel of your already installed ROM to other kernel)
Gauner's kernel with ext4
MDJ's 10.3 kernel
MDJ's 10.4OC kernel
Updates:
Desire HD stock toolbar
Desire HD custom toolbar with percent battery
How to install kernels, updates or fixs:
1. You should have already ClockworkMod(zImage and initrd.gz) on sdcard. If you use ROM-ZIP builds I think you have it already.
2. Copy the update.zip file from an update or a fixs archive to sdcard root.
3. Reboot your phone, hold Power button to access the magldr menu.
4. Next select the "Boot AD SD" item. ClockworkMod will be loaded and you will see ClockworkMod Recovery menu.
5. Select the "apply update from sdcard" item.
6. Select "Yes".
7. After flashing will be done select the "reboot system now" item.
what working and not working ???
It would be nice to have the readme of each build at least posted in the first post, so we don't have to download everything to see if we need it
I am always looking for a PURE/Stock Desire HD build, with no frils and no EXTRA apps, for a TMOUS HD2. But with no readme , i'll wait for someone first.
Greetings Santroph
Did it Include CM Mod setting?
Ok, thats what I get for beeing unpacient, downloaded it, before even reading the thread hehehe
So it is what it says, only CWM versions of the sayd rom....
I don't need it synce I don;t use CWM, but, some people might like it. Thanks anyway.
Greetings Santroph.

Wel he did say that in the very first line of his post
But Until I get some sort of details on the builds and whats in it and whats not, I'll download MDJ's and let it sit on my sd card, cause I found CWM yesterday, and personally love it, especially with being able to take most NAND roms and convert them to CWM makes it ideal.

From the "How to instal" in readme file:
...Copy the CwMRec directory from the 2_step directory to root of sdcard.
After copying will be finished disconnect USB cable.
Go to "Services->BootSettings->AD SD Dir" in the magldr menu and select the CWMREC directory....
1. Perhaps you forgot to disconnect a USB cable safely.
2. You copied the content of the CwMRec directory to root of sdcard, but not the CwMRec directory. In this case the CwMRec directory not exists on sdcard, the zImage and initrd.gz files are placed in root of sdcard. You should skip the step of selecting directory for boot from SD or select the <.> .

This is a2sd+.
In case of A2SD the internal storage does not include external partition, you will see only size of free space in NAND. But in case A2SD+ you will see free space of the external partition as size of intrenal storage.

3.2.1
This build is the exact copy of my RAFDROID HD EXT
the difference is that some parts of the system are "squashed" to give you the possibility to NOT USE any Ext partition for data.
I dont like squashedfs, but someone requested an hd build with some free space on nand (about 50mb) because some one not install a lot of apps and prefer to not use sd ext partition.
This build is mainly for EU HD2 (512mb) users.
If you are an HD 1024mb user really you dont need this, and you can use my main HD build
FEATURES
All the main features of RAFDROID HD EXT plus:
- odexed back to save dalvik cache space
- free user space after first boot: 101mb
- App2SD enabled if you use and SD with an EXT partition
CHANGELOG
Code:
3.2.1 - 3 MAR 11
Fixed Market FC
3.2- 3 MAR11
Some improvements and fixes to radio/audio driver,
this "should" fix phone freeze in some setups, also if I was not able to replicate the issues
Tweaked for more battery life on some sd cards usage
Updated hosts file with last one
3.1 - Initial release
=== INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS (CWR) - NEW USERS WITHOUT CWR INSTALLED OR WITH CWR BUT USING ANOTHER ROM ===
This process will erase everything on your nand. So, if you are already using a previous rom, backup everything!
Download PANASONIC SD FORMATTER and use it to format your card with FULL ERASE
You need to flash MAGDLR 1.13
You need to flash, via USB FLASHER magdlr option, this recovery partition layout, otherwise the build will not boot.
Download the FULL RAFDROID PACKAGE and copy the entire zip (not extracted!) on the SD CARD root.
Put the SD CARD in your phone and power it on and go in the MAGDLR menu (hold the power key while powering up)
Select BOOT AD RECOVERY
Click on INSTALL ZIP FROM SD CARD and then CHOOSE ZIP FROM SD CARD
Select the FULL_RAFDROID_HD*******.zip that you downloaded before.
Select "Yes - Install........" and wait for installation then Go back with power button and select REBOOT SYSTEM NOW
First boot can take up to 20 minutes. If you are stuck on white screen with HTC logo just wait. If you hear boot sound more than one time, you had a bootlop and something has gone wrong. Delete everything, reformat your SD card, read again the instructions and try again.
When you see the lockscreen, give at least 5 minutes to settle. Then do all your settings and then reboot again
Enjoy.
Remember: if you want to avoid Data Corruption always choose SHUT OFF and not reboot!
=== INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS (CWR) - UPGRADING FROM A PREVIOUS RAFDROID VERSION (2.2 or greater) WITH ALREADY CWR INSTALLED===
Since the data storage method is different, you cannot upgrade from a different RAFDROID HD version. You have to install fresh. Anyway you will keep your data and apps installed.
============ CONFIG.TXT ============Used some ideas and code bits from Dandiest's init script.
You can create a config.txt file on the root of your sdcard to configure some things at boot.
Actually you can configure the following options
gps_zone=[your country]
check http://www.pool.ntp.org/zone/@ for country codes (example: it for italy, us for usa.. and so on...)
ppp_mode=[1 or 0]
1 to enable PPP
0 to enable RMNET.
Default is 0
If wince=1 default ppp_mode will be 1
old_light_driver=[1 or 0]
0 to use the new light driver (working notification leds, button backlight control)
1 to use the old light driver (no notifications leds, buttons will go off after 10 seconds)
default is 0
auto_btn_backlight=[1 or 0]
1 to have the buttons backlight going off/on with the screen
0 to have the buttons backlight going off after 10 seconds from when the last button is pressed
default is 1
this work only if old_light_driver=0
wifi_mac_change=[1 or 0]
1 tells the system that you will need to change the wifi mac address to a custom one
0 tells the system that you will use the wifi mac address based on device hardware
custom_wifi_mac=yy:yy:yy:yy:yy:yy
here you have to write the wifi mac address you want.
This is needed, and will work, only if you specify wifi_mac_change=1
If you not write any mac address here, the default 00:11:22:33:44:55 will be used
Just an example on how a file could look:
Code:
gps_zone=it
ppp_mode=0
old_light_driver=0
auto_btn_backlight=1
The init script will also create an init.log file on your sd card at every boot. This will help you and me with debugging if something not works fine. If you have issues please always post your init.log file when reporting your problem.
============ KERNEL ============
You can refer to my kernel thread for updates, changelog, and comments
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=940823
============ SQUASHED FILE SYSTEM ============
App, Framework and most of Lib folders, are squashed.
Anyway you can push or delete any file from those folder because any file is simlinked.
Example: if you want to use a different framework-res.apk, you can copy it in the /system/framework folder. At this point the simlink will be removed and your new file will be stored on nand, not in the squashed filesystem. This means that more "new files" you push in the squashed folders, less nand space you will have.
Anyway please note that I left only about 13mb free on "system". This means you will not able to push more then 13mb files. If you like to change a lot of things.. this build and squashfs is not for you.
============ DOWNLOADS ============
You need to flash, via USB FLASHER magdlr option, this recovery partition layout, otherwise the build will not boot.

FAQ
Q: I have low quadrant score
A: This is normal. Nand is slower. Anyway during day usage you shold not notice big difference
Q: I have small freeze when installing apps
A: This happens with all Desire HD builds. I can't do nothing to avoid this
Q: I'm using App2SD but my internal memory keep decreasing at any app installed
A: Go in the application management and move the installed abb back in the phone. Some apps anyway keep some datas in internal mem.
Q: My phone sometimes freeze and I have to reboot.
A: Go in Settings -> Audio -> disable audible touch tones. this will solve the issue in most of the cases.
Q: Can you provide a different link or a mirror different from hotfile?
A: I'm sorry but the answer is "no". I pay hotfile every month and the downloads give me the possibility to pay it. I dont do this for money, but I also dont want to waste my money
Q: During/after boot a window appears with "System process not respoding". What I have to do?
A: This is caused from the new audio driver I used. The new audio driver has better phone stability and no robo voice. You have two choices: 1) Click on "wait" and all will be fine OR 2) download the "old_acdb_file.zip" and flash it via recovery. In this way you will not have the error anymore but you will start having robo voice on first call (you can avoid this disabling audible touch tones) and could happen that your phone freezes when receiving a call. It's your choiche. I preferred the "window error" one because for me is more important to have a working phone than an error window appearing at boot.
Q: I have robo voice when I make a call
A: To avoid this, disable "audible touch tones" from the "settings -> audio" menu. You will have no-more robo voice also if you reboot.
a) During the robo-voice call, enable the speaker, then disable it. You will have no more robo-voice until next reboot.
Q: I have very low audio during calls
A: During the call, enable the speaker, then disable it. You will have loud volume until next reboot.
Q: after boot I see only a white screen with a green htc logo
A: just wait. It can take fro 5 up to 20 minutes depending on your sd card. There are no issue. The build booted fine, it's just copying all the files to SD. This will happen only on first installation.
Q: I'm having high battery drain
A: Try reboot. Try disabling gps in location. As you can see from the screenshot I have 4mA with WIFI active! Also be careful. If during google account setup you choose to backup/restore all your data, the sync process will be dramatic heavy because it has to reinstall all your apps. It could need a couple of hours to settle. Also high battery drain could be caused by SD. try another one.
Q: It's really laggy!!!!
A: as all Desire HD builds this is BIG! This needs at least 10-15 minutes after boot to be usable. Then try to use it for 5-6 hours.. and do a couple of reboots.. you will see that the speed will improve. After 24 hours of use and 4-5 rebots this will be really fast.
Q: I have no GPS or the fix is really slow
A: Firs fixt can take up to 5 minutes. just wait. You can edit the config.txt gps_zone= to your country. See here for the right strings http://www.pool.ntp.org/zone/@ if this not solves, try use QuickGps from the market to download a-gps data.
Q: It not boots
A: partition again and format again your sd card. follow the guide linked in the first post. post your init.log. check that you flashed the custom recovery linked in the instructions.
Q: I have no data/3G/HSDPA
A: probably you have to set your apn manually. google it for tips on how to do and what settings are need for your carrier
Q: How do I remove BOOTSOUND / How do I change bootanim
A: bootsound and bootanim are located in /system/customize/resource
Just delete android_audio.mp3 if you dont want sound
Q: I have wake up lag
A: It's an issue that devs are trying to solve. It's not related to the build itself. In the Q&A Forum there is a thread about this problem.
Q: My screen stays off after call
a) Maybe this can help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946012 ATM very few people have this issue, so I wonder is related to sd card.
Q: My contacts pictures are low res after sync!
A: this is a google problem, read here http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=4147
Q: I have random reboots
A: Seems to be related to your phone, read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941845 and here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898804

Hello Raf thank you very much for giving us this opportunity, just wondering which files should we use to revert back to stock framework and standard fonts and how to install them.
Thanks again for all your efforts
I always had problem with data on ext partition due to easy file corruption, so I'm trying this...thanks!

Last step, change the startup.txt found on another My Storage partition, rename the following line:
" Set CMDLINE "rootdelay=2 root= /dev/mmcblk0p6 init=/init" to the partition number that you created, eg. mmcblk0p2.*
You should be able to bootup Android after that.
*Some device may get different number, you can look for the Android partition number through booting up the device without changing anything in startup.txt, then at this screen, check the one which has the actual partition from what you created, below is an example from jerrytech2468.blogspot.com:

LATEST NEWS & UPDATES

Froyo beta1. It's SD card installer (1024mb only). It includes latest kernel, modules, default filesystem is ext4, new keymapping. Download it here (it will wipe Your current installation and/or whole SD card content). As always it doesn't contain 2D/3D libraries from Samsung (You have to find them and put it before first boot to My Storage as o2b3update.tar.gz).
Froyo beta1 working things are:
Phone
WiFi
GPS
Data connections (GPRS)
Sensors (not everything is working: accelerometer can work, but compass not)
2D/3D (Samsung not allowed to us to distribute the 2D/3D library binaries, so they are not included in the image).
MP4/3GP movie play (camera hardware button doesn't work yet)
Camera in photo (up to 5MP) and movie recording mode (it's still not 480p, but works)
Note: There is still error, when within telephone conversation in approx.30 seconds the LCD blanks but also the sound muted - UNTIL NOT SOLVE, please use the Call Light or KeepScreen application from Market!!!
Note2: If You have problems with registering via Google use following workaround: open Youtube app and login there with google account.
Note3: Changed button mapping: Cube -> Menu, Lock -> Back, Back key -> Home, Hang-up -> Sleep/Hang-up/Wake, Camera -> not used.
Note4: Updates have now prefix o2b3update.{tar.gz|sh}.
Thanks, I will test today

The Froyo is awesome and I think the battery consumption has reduced and better now.
Is adobe flash works?
Any screenshot guys?
Sent from my Nexus One using Tapatalk
Works like a charm.
Just re-partitioning of my SD-Card was a bit tricky: The old Eclair-Beta-Partition was slightly smaller than the new one for Froyo. So the installation (haret within the o2beta-directory) always claimed that the SD-Card is too small (in fact mine is 2 GB). So I had to delete the old partitions and re-format it within the configuration-menu of WinMo.
If s.o. does not have a card-reader/adaptor for the microSD - just use this software linked in this post.
hey can someone upload the 3D drivers to mediafire. im having problem download it from filesonic
Looking forward to testing out FROYO. Taking a while to download as I guess a lot of people have been eagerley awaiting it!

If you want to try out stable Android that can be used on daily basis, for
**Android Eclair (2.1) on Omnia 2, see my previous thread, follow and download the links under UNOFFICIAL RELEASE.
**Android Froyo (2.2) on Omnia 2, follow my guides on this thread, the overall impression is smoother and better than the previous release.
If you follow every step by step, you should be able to run Android on your Omnia 2.
Thank you!
Followed your instructions and..... Froyo lives!
Be sure to stress enough that new 2D/3D drivers are needed in order for Froyo to work properly. Only thing, Froyo keep saying that the SD card is damaged, when, of course, is working properly. Someone else with the same issue?

For those who have problems with FileSonic, this is the 2D/3D files which i upload personally in .7z format.
You'll have to extract it out from .7z format first before you put into My Storage.
I've done what you said step by step but when android booted completely, in the welcome screen every time i clicked on android there is no response and suddenly the screen went black, I've tried to turn it on with keys but no response. What Should I DO?
Thanks
It works! Great work!
i have same problem as tiberiusmusicus. SD card is 'damaged'. however i can access it in winmo. it might be because the directory for the sd card is /mnt/sdcard and not /sdcard. im not sure....any solution? cant take photos because camera is not reading sdcard.

======
1. What is the difference between A2SD+ and data++ versions of LeeDrOiD V3.x.x Bravo GB?
With Desire's stock ROM, little ROM is available for user apps as the \data partition is very small (147 MB).
With A2SD+ ROM, somewhat more is available, as dalvik cache and apps are moved to sd-ext. However, some data is still written to the \data partition, so no matter what, the "Internal memory" will decrease.
Data++ version gives you yet more internal memory for app installation than A2SD+ version, however, it is a little trickier to both flash and customize. As it does not move dalvik cache to SD, unlike A2SD+, dalvik cache still occupies a considerable amount of internal storage. This makes the system marginally quicker than A2SD+, at the expense of available internal memory and placing a cap on the total volume of installable apps (which is still considerably higher than in the A2SD+ version). Furthermore, it can be moved to sd-ext as well, freeing more memory still (see subsection "Things to know if using Data++" below, item 5).
To actually free more memory for user apps, data++ version moves a number of system files from \system partition to sd-ext. This in turn allows to redistribute the partitions of the phone memory:
- system partition is reduced to 90-100mb at the expense of files moved to sd-ext and\or deleted
- cache partition, originally 40 mb and empty most of the time, is reduced to 5mb
- data partition (the one shown as "internal memory" and available for your user apps\dalvik) is increased at the expense of the two mentioned above
This partitioning is determined by the hboot you use. So, in order to enjoy the benefits of data++, you will have to flash the required hboot first. There are currently several hboots that are compatible with LeeDroid Bravo GB. However, to obtain the maximum benefit you have to flash Oxygen hboot (revision 1), second best is Oxygen-r2. More details on flashing \ updating can be found in the respective section.
You can get an overview of different ROM variants looking at the picture Bravo ROM allocation.jpg by clicking the preview at the end of this post. The picture may be not very precise and perhaps even partially erroneous, but it will give you a graphical overview and it is correct in general.
Last point: data++ is NOT the same as Data2Ext. Simplified explanation: Data2Ext will increase the size of "internal memory" as percieved by your system to the size of your sd-ext (it may also usually require two ext partitions instead of one, etc, etc). Data++ will NOT increase your internal memory to the size of sd-ext; it will only free some NAND memory by moving some system files to sd-ext and re-allocating the freed space to \data by using oxygen hboot.
Things to know if using Data++:
1. As cache partition has been reduced to 5 mb in data++ version-compatible hboot:
- a ramdisk is used instead of it for caching downloads from the market. However, RAM is not used when not needed, so you should not worry about your RAM being squandered.
- to update the radio, you have to use fastboot ('fastboot flash radio radio.img'. Radio.img is to be extracted from the radio update.zip beforehand) or update radio using stock hboot prior to flashing modified hboot.
2. Since location of some system files has changed in data++ relative to stock ROM, flashing UOT kitchen mods and themes can be tricky. More on this below in the respective section.
3. Having sd-ext on sdcard may negatively affect the read\write performance of the fat32 partition (this one goes for A2SD+ as well, though).
4. There are two most suitable hboots for data++: oxygen r1 and oxygen r2. The difference between them is that r1 has a 90mb system partition while r2 has a 100mb one. As LeeDroid Bravo GB 3.0.7 has a system partition exceeding 90mb, you have two options:
- prudent option for people who have hands.sys and head.sys drivers installed on their system:
-- use oxygen r1, as it leaves more space in data partition hence more space for your apps
-- modify LeeDroid Bravo GB rom.zip in any of the below ways to reduce the size of \system folder:
--- open the rom.zip in either WinRAR, 7ZIP, Total Commander with an archive-reading plugin will also work, other methods have not been mentioned but might also work; do NOT unpack rom.zip, just open it
--- remove bootanimation (rom.zip\resource\customize\bootanimation.zip) and boot sound (should be somewhere near it) by pressing the del key inside the chosen app (WinRAR\7ZIP\TC)
--- and\or remove unnecessary stuff like wallpapers and jpegs and whatever you believe is ok from rom.zip\system\customize\resource
--- copy the modified rom.zip to sd card for flashing, keeping in mind you will have to turn off signature verification (as we've changed the rom.zip and the embedded signature is now no good) in the recovery prior to flashing (e.g in Amon-Ra it's Other\Toggle Signature Verification)
- strange option for people who are lazy and\or do not have hands.sys and head.sys drivers installed (what would they be doing flashing hboots and roms then is another question, particularly data++ roms):
-- use oxygen r2, as it has a 100mb system partition and no modification have to be made to rom.zip prior to flashing - but your data partition will be about 10mb smaller than with oxygen r1
5. Even if you install data++ version, which has dalvik in internal memory, you can move dalvik cache to sd-ext to free space for your apps at the cost of a small performance decrease. To learn more, see post by anderl78: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14297694&postcount=4751
6. If you want to go back from Data++ rom to a2sd+\stock rom, be it by flashing or restoring a nandroid, you will have to flash stock hboot first!
2. Requirments for flashing (i.e. before you flash, you need)
a. General requirements
- Rooted HTC Desire
- SD card partitioned into two partitions - FAT32 and EXT3 (EXT4 supported, haven't tried it but people confirm it works)
- hboot 0.93.x - some have reported successfully flashing with older hboots, but it usually took multiple attempts, so it's easier to S-OFF
- Desire should be fully charged, just in case
- It is always better to flash critical stuff using a notebook or UPS-connected PC for obvious reasons
To partition your card, you can use:
- your recovery
- ROM Manager app
- GPARTED (linux software for partitioning, also can be run on any PC using a boot-cd, site: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php)
- minitool partition wizard (freeware windows partitioning program, site: http://www.partitionwizard.com/download.html)
- any other reasonably advanced partitioning program (such as Acronis Disk Director)
Keep in mind:
- both partitions should be primary (how to check if your partition is primary?)
- FAT32 should go first, EXT3\4 should go second (EXT4 claimed to be supported, not tested by author of this post)
- if partitioning via recovery\ROM manager, specify swap size as zero
- do not label the partitions
- reasonable size range for ext partition is 1-2gb
- if you are not experienced in partitioning, back up your sd card data (if you need it), for there are many ways to lose it when partitioning and only a few not to. You can just copy your sdcard data to a folder, then copy it back to fat32 partition if necessary.
- the last, but NOT the least: method of partitioning should be irrelevant, however, best results seem to be obtained by using GPARTED \ minitools partition wizard. Gparted is the surest way, but least convenient; minitool Partition Wizard is very easy to use and requires no reboots.
b. Requirements specific to Data++
- S-OFF
- Oxygen hboot downloaded and ready to flash
- Stock hboot in case you want to go back
Obtaining S-OFF is described here: http://alpharev.nl/ OR in detail http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=805811
Brief explanation (sapienti sat): download S-OFF CD http://alpharev.nl/alpharev.iso, burn it and reboot (or mount it as bootcd in a virtual machine and reboot), connect rooted HTC Desire, cross your fingers and follow instructions.
Flashing hboot is described here: http://alpharev.nl/ OR http://androidtricks.net/fastboot-custom-hboot-partition-table-htc-desire-52 OR http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14259861&postcount=3683 OR read this post by anderl78 with detailed instructions of flashing it via fastboot.
Flashing hboot via PBIMG is in my opinion easier and is the only way I ever tried. Flashing via fastboot requires having ADB installed.
All necessary files can be found in the last section: "7. One-stop download reference".
3. Flashing guide
1. Make a Titanium backup of apps (optional but reasonable)
2. Make a Nandroid backup
3. Copy both backups (titanium and nandroid) to a PC for ultimate safety (optional but reasonable)
4. Have the following files on your SD card in the root folder:
- Lee's ROM (make sure to have modified the updater script if it's 3.0.8.2 Data++)
- Ext3 alignment patch
- [optional] radio if you update it from sd
- [optional] any other zips you may want to flash (kitchen mods, backlight mod)
- [optional] hboot files (stock and chosen oxygen) if you want to install Data++ using the PBIMG way
5. Flash recommended radio (32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08), reboot to old rom to check in Settings\About phone\Software Information\Baseband version
6. Make sure you have an EXT3 partition as described in the Requirments section above (EXT4 claimed to be supported, not tested by author of this post)
7. [data++] Flash necessary oxygen hboot (r1 or r2) if you are flashing the data++ version
8. [optional but highly recommended] Perform a full wipe (can usually be omitted if updating from most prior sub-versions of this rom e.g. 3.0.x where x<8 but better to do this, you do have titanium backup anyhow). Still, you can always try flashing without wiping, and if it doesn't work or works but is buggy, you can reflash again with wiping.
9. [data++] Toggle signature verification to off if you are using oxygen-r1 hboot and have modified the rom.zip to reduce system partition
10. Flash rom.zip
11. Reboot and wait for the ROM to first-boot, which may take quite some time (up to 10-15-20 minutes is a safe bet; if you worry your battery will run low, nothing keeps you from connecting the charger)
12. If everything is OK, reboot back to recovery and flash optional mods if you have them (you can flash them right after flashing rom.zip prior to first-booting, but if the rom fails to boot it will be hard to determine the reason - maybe it's the rom, maybe it's the mod - so easier to flash after first-boot)
13. If you have problems flashing the rom \ first-booting, read the following section.
14. [optional] restore Titanium backup if you have one, but make sure you do not restore any red items. To totally make sure, you can choose to restore only user apps+data, and set up system settings by hand, if you like to be on the safe side.
Note: DO NOT flash EXT3 Alignment Patch as described on Lee's official page (step 3 of his flashing guide). With all due respect to Lee, flashing this patch has resulted in non-mountable sd-ext partition for many users. So do not flash it unless the rom won't start, as described in the following section.
The ext3 aligtnment patch has the following purpose, however, ROM works fine for virtually all who go without it and the opposite is not true. So the guidelines are:
- if it works without it, don't flash it;
- if it doesn't work without it, try flashing it
- if you you've flashed it first and the rom doesn't boot, use any partitioning software to delete the ext partition, then re-create it and flash without the alignment patch.
4. Troubleshooting ROM installation
Usually, failing to flash\boot the rom has the following causes:
1. Incorrect card partitioning - perhaps number one among other reasons.
To check for it, reboot to recovery (if you can't reboot by key combination, pull the battery). Try mounting sd-ext in recovery.
If it fails, this is indeed a problem.
Solutions:
- flash EXT3 Alignment Patch (http://leedroid.ftp.rshost.eu/Bravo_Addons/alignment-ext3.zip), then try reinstalling rom by repeating steps starting with step 10 of the above flashing guide.
- delete sd-ext partition in any partition manager such as Gparted \ minitool Partition Wizard and recreate it again, then try reinstalling rom by repeating steps starting with step 10 of the above flashing guide.
- if above fails, repartitioning the whole card (fat32 backup may be necessary if you have needed data on it), then try reinstalling rom by repeating steps starting with step 10 of the above flashing guide.
- if all above fails, ask the gurus such as anderl78 or mod-author, and don't forget to press the THANKS button once they have solved your problem
2. hboot - rom incompatibility, such as:
- flashing data++ rom on a device which is S-ON and\or has stock hboot (Solution: if so, S-OFF your device and flash correct hboot)
- flashing unmodified data++ rom with oxygen-r1 hboot (Solution: either modify rom or flash oxygen-r2 hboot)
- flashing a2sd+ rom on oxygen hboot (Solution: flash stock hboot)
- flashing rom on old hboot (<0.93): may take several tries, though I'd suggest S-OFFing as an easier alternative
3. Corrupt ROM file
- If flashing 3.0.8.2 Data++, modify the updater script as described here
- You may want to check MD5 signature for the rom file just in case
- If you have modified data++ rom to use oxygen-r1 hboot - make sure you did it without extracting stuff with consequent recompressing; make sure you haven't deleted anything not meant to be deleted
- If you tried integrating kitchen mods into rom.zip file - try flashing a vanilla rom, this way you'll determine the cause (maybe you modified rom.zip incorrectly, corrupting it)
4. Unrooted phone
Solution: Learn to RTFM and root your phone
You can read up here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696189
5. Attempt to flash modified ROM without toggling signature verification to disabled
If you have modified your ROM, you have to toggle signature verification off; e.g in Amon-Ra it's in the menu Other\Toggle Signature Verification.
6. Other causes
If your problem does not fall under the above list, ask the gurus such as anderl78 or ROM-author in the MAIN THREAD, and don't forget to press the THANK button once they have solved your problem
5. Customizing guide
5.1. Kitchen customization - battery icon, etc.
To customize your phone by changing the appearance of top bar icons, notification panel, fonts, battery icon and the like you can use the UOT kitchen: http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen/.
Just cook the file you need as described here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=990829, then flash it from recovery.
Data++ customization
Now if you have installed data++ version, things may be somewhat complicated. This is due to the fact that in the data++ version, some system files are partially on sd-ext:
/system/app goes to /sd-ext/app_s
/system/framework goes to /sd-ext/framework_s
/system/media goes to /sd-ext/media_s
/system/fonts goes to /sd-ext/fonts_s
You can actually check it yourself by opening the rom.zip file.
As the files which are changed by the kitchen mod you have cooked are usually among the ones relocated, the mod has to be a little different from the standard.
There are several ways to do this:
1. When cooking the mod in the kitchen, set the "Kitchen\File Upload\Flashing for Data++ ROM option" to ON.
This worked for most users.
2. [OR] edit cooked file manually, replacing file paths as described below:
Open the theme's zip file (e.g. one from UOT) and edit \META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script file, changing paths of files that had been moved to sd-ext in the data++ rom. After that you can flash it from recovery as usual, having toggled signature verification to Disbled.
For instance, with the data++ version of 3.0.6 I used the following lines (could be different with 3.0.7 official data++, but enought to get the picture, and you can always figure out the paths and which of them to alter from rom.zip):
Code:
ui_print("Applying UOT framework");
run_program("/sbin/busybox", "mount", "/sd-ext");
package_extract_dir("framework", "/sd-ext/framework_s");
package_extract_dir("app", "/sd-ext/app_s");
run_program("/sbin/busybox", "umount", "/sd-ext");
whereas original was like this:
Code:
ui_print("Applying UOT framework");
run_program("/sbin/busybox", "mount", "/system");
package_extract_dir("framework", "/system/framework");
package_extract_dir("app", "/system/app");
run_program("/sbin/busybox", "umount", "/system");
So it's the "spot 10 differences" game. Just check the official data++ rom.zip for files moved to sd-ext, then check what files are changed in the theme\mod zip, and alter the update script accordingly. Remember not to extract files and recompress them, but rather to open the archive and edit the script from the archive.
3. [OR] integrate the cooked file into rom.zip. To do this:
1) Browse through your cooked mod and see what modded files are in there. Usually its SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk.
2) Extract these files to any folder.
3) Now open you rom.zip using WinRAR, 7ZIP, Total Commander with an archive-browsing plugin or any other decent software.
4) Locate the files you found in (1) and replace them by dragging the files extracted in (2) over them. E.g.:
You have extracted from the kitchen mod.zip:
framework-res.apk from the app\ folder
SystemUI.apk from the framework\ folder
to some temporary folder on your pc.
In data++ rom.zip, you'll most likely find
framework-res.apk in rom.zip\sd-ext\framework_s\
SystemUI.apk in rom.zip\sd-ext\app_s\
So, for each instance, you drag the respective file from temporary folder to the archive, and confirm if the program you're using asks if you want to replace the files. In any case, ignore the META-INF\ folder.
The resulting modified rom.zip should be flashed with Signature Verification toggled to Disabled in recovery, as we have modified it.
Troubleshooting:
Check if you have selected the right source files in the kitchen. In the UOT kitchen, on the FILE UPLOAD tab, under the heading "Select your rom from kitchen's list, or upload your own files", make sure you use "Kitchen's list", and select "LeeDrOiD 3.0.7 A2SD, ROM" from the dropdown. Alternatively, you can upload the actual files from the rom.zip.
If it still isn't working, then, most likely, you have incorrectly followed the above guide.
With all due respect, go to the main thread and bug people there - they will be very amused by yet another repetition of the "how do I flash the UOT kitchen mod on data++" topic... but will help you anyhow, as they are indeed nearly saints.
5.2. Adding notification panel widgets
The question of how to add widgets into the notification panel seems to appear every now and then in the main thread. There are many ways to do that. However, not all of them are easy\are easily customizable as the way I am describing below.
I solved it for myself by using the free Widgetsoid app.
It allows to make any number of highly customizable widgets, and can also place any of them in the notification bar.
The way to setup is first:
1. Install widgetsoid
2. Run it from the apps menu for initial settings:
ADVANCED tab:
- Flash led setting is METHOD 2
- Select desirable Brightness levels if you're going to use it (suggest using Seekbar first to get the hang of which levels are good for you, then using custom levels to set them up)
- I'd suggest setting "Widget focusable" to OFF, haptic feedback to ON
- Service in backgroud ON
NOTIFICATION tab:
- Hide notification icon to ON
- Open popup to OFF
Other settings you can change to your taste.
Then, to create your widget:
- Create a widget on your desktop, i usually use Widgetsoid Switcher 4x1 widget
- On network, Screen, Sound, Other, Shortcut tabs -- select which widgets are needed
- by clicking on a specific widget item in the preview you can move it to any place you want
- Go to theme tab, set it up to look as you want
- go to advanced tab, suggest following settings:
-- Modifiable - YES, you can turn it off later after you're sure you got what you wanted
-- Modifiable icon - up to you, I set it to off. What it does is show a small icon in top right corener which you can click to bring up widget editing screen; it works the same way without the icon, so it looks cleaner. It affects only the widgets placed on desktop, it won't be visible\usable in the notification panel widget
-- Notification - ON if you want to see the widget in the notification bar - so you want it ON
-- Widget invisible - as you want. If you check it, widget won't take place on your desktop, it'll only be visible in Notifications panel. Can't undo that later, so decide on the spot. You can always make another widget, though, if you later want to have one on the desktop and had made the previous one invisible.
-- Click Apply tab
It will ask you if you want to edit global prefs - no need to do that, so answer NO. The widget should appear in notification panel.
Some notes things:
- depending on notification panel style (transparent\white\other) you may want to change the color of your widget's icons so they are clearly visible (Widgetsoid app\Notification tab\Choose icon color). In transparent panel of 3.0.6-r2 it doesn't seem to work; as I remember, it worked with a white panel.
- In some cases, you may get a popup with the widget after you tap a widget item in notification panel after initial setup. If that happens, got to widgetsoid app, go to Notification tab, check state of "Open Popup" checkbox. If ON, set to off. If OFF but you still get the popup, check it to ON, then set it back to OFF, this solves the issue. It appears, you'll have to do that each time you add a widget to notification panel.
- If you made your widget visible only in notification panel and want to edit it, you can go to Widgetsoid app, go to Widgets tab, select widget you want to edit, tap the pencil button, edit as needed, tap apply tab.
- If you choose the widget to be Invisible on your dektop when you set it up initially, there is no way to uncheck this option if later you change your mind and want to see it on you dektop as well as in the notification panel. The only way you can do that is by recreating the widget.
- You can put more than one widget panel in the notification panel.
- If you use task killers (why would you want to?), make sure widgetsoid service is on the exceptions list.
VOILA, LeeDroid GB3.x.x with a notification tab switches in an easily customizable way!
PS you can watch it, if I am not mistaken, starting with 14:00 of the official widgetsoid video guide at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pyf7U1cByI
6. Troubleshooting other issues:
There's not much issues I know of with this rom, unlike the HD ports. They may be user-specific, but I'm listing them here just in case.
- Lockscreen not appearing on power-on, i.e. after on button is pressed, phone starts direct to desktop.
Problem surfaced after several months of use. Fixed by reboot.
- When I want to select which calendars to be synced, I can only select [x] of my [x+n] calendars.
Fixed by clearing all data in the Settings>Applications section from processes containing the word Calendar.

hi,
indeed very well done.
I would suggest that this thread url is pasted to the OP Lee's thread. would be easer for everyone's as an howTO
awesome thread .. resolves most of the issues that crop up related to data++
Thx a lot. Seems to be complete and clear !!!
hi,
Is there a easy way to check if my sd-ext3 is set as primary? Im using Win7 and i try booting into Gpart via a usb drive, but it doesnt seem to detect my sd.
My sd-ext3 have been partitioned using RA when i flashed LeeDroid 2.4.0.

Firtsly, if you partitioned using ROM manager \ Recovery, your partitions should be primary, because the writers of that software are not saboteurs
So you need to check it only if you partitioned the disk yourself using partitioning software and are no longer sure if you did it right (one can always forget).
If you're using Windows, it's very easy:
If you don't have a card reader or do not want to open your desire to get the card out of it:
1. Connect phone to PC with USB and boot into recovery
2. Enter USB-MS mode and wait for the PC to see your flash card
If you have a card reader and don't mind opening it to get the card out:
1. Open Desire, remove card
2. Connect card reader to your PC, stick the card into it, wait for the PC to see it
THEN:
3. In windows, press WinKey+R to get the Run dialog
4. Type DISKPART, wait for a prompt to appear (it could take some time)
5. type LIST and hit ENTER
6. It will show you a bunch of disks that are on your system. You have to find in the list the one which is your flash card (by the size) and mark its number.
7. Type SELECT DISK <disk number here> and hit ENTER
8. Type LIST PARTITION and hit ENTER
9. It will show you partitions and their types
10. After you're done, just close the windows with the mouse
ALTERNATIVELY, for the GUI-minded:
3. In windows, press WinKey+R to get the Run dialog
4. Type dikmgmt.msc and hit ENTER
5. Wait for it to initialize, locate your flash card in the bottom half of the screen, using scroll bar if necessary
6. It should show two partitions, xx.xxGB FAT32 / Healthy (Primary Partition) and x.xxGB / Healthy (Primary Partition)
7. When done, close the window.
OR, if you have acronis Disk Director, you can:
3. Launch it
4. Find your flash card
5. In the top half, partition types are specified
6. In the bottom half, you can check the color of the partition against the legend (primary is yellow, at least in version 10)

Thank you so much for the detailed stepped.
I tried using the the steps with DiskPart as well as Disk Mgmt. But I can only see one primary partition on my 8GB SD, that is the FAT32 Primary with around 6GB+ size. I could not see the ext partition which I have partitioned to be 1GB.
Does this mean my ext3 is not primary? or Win7 just cant detect ext3 since it suppose to be for Linux?

It means, most likely, that something is wrong.
Win7 can detect sd-ext, though it will not be able to work with it.
Still, it will display the ext partition in both diskpart and diskmgmt.msc, and also show if it is primary.
How did you connect the flash card to your PC?
If you just connect your booted Desire to PC in "Disk Drive" mode, it will never show the sd-ext partition. You have to do it as described, from recovery or by using a card reader.
If you still can not see the sd-ext partition (BTW, what size is your card?), try partitioning it using recommended software (you can start with minitools partition wizard as it is much easier than Gparted and yields the same results).
first, I'm sorry I can't post my question in the main thread (not enough
posts ).
Question :
i have Leedroid 3.0.7 A2SD+ installed, everything seems fine, but I can see my internal storage free space going down and down (now only 5 mb) and at the same time the SD card (A2SD ext3 partition) still has 284 Mb free.
Anyone knows where the problem could be ?

Yup. See the first post of this thread:
However, some data is still written to the \data partition, so no matter what, the "Internal memory" will decrease.

To get more memory, you will have to use Data++ version.
Or somehow integrate data2ext which will give you even more space (which is, however, rather complicated, and I assume, less stable).

Hey guys,
Everybody just keeps saying that, but there must be a limit to data accumulation, isn't?
Even with data++, if it is just normal to lose 5mb each day without new installs or updates, well...
I'd address this question to anderl78\lee.
They are better equipped to answer it ^)
Just don't forget that apps do store data (e.g. gmail stores incoming mails somewhere, and this somewhere is most likely the \data partition).

What, you're losing 5 MB of internal memory EACH DAY? That's insane! I'm about to switch from A2SD to DATA++ because my internal memory is dangerously low but should I now?

Hello! I looked into the Rom configuration but could not find a problem that would cause this space consumption. Apps are saved in sd-ext, app-data is saved in nand Memory (internal).
Dalvik-cache is on ext or internal, depends in the Rom, is ok too.
In data++ is a little error, app-private (buyed apps) is not on sd-ext, its completely on internal memory. To change this, flash my dalvik2nand.zip ;-) (see link in OP) - perhaps its that? But this is only in data++ and not in a2SD+ ROM... I don't think this is the reason...
I looked into the space available here on my phone for a few days now, and I have to say nearly no space is gone... 116mb free to 115mb free in 3 days... Absolutely ok what I think. (data++ with the above dalvik2nand "extension" )
I think, the described problem is related to some apps, which are storing a lot of data in internal memory. If somebody have this problem, I recommend to see into "manage applications" sorted by needed space, or use "diskusage" from market to look, what app(s) are causing this.
One other thing I have seen is Titanium backup. After a flash I restored my apps with tb as usual. I wondered why some apps last so long to restore and suddenly i got a low space warning message. Looked into the apps and see for example xda-app using 90MB for data! Wiped all, restored nothing with tb, installed all from market and the problem is gone...
I hope this helps somebody... ;-)

Hey don't panic.
I am a happy data++ user.
Those 5mb were just a way to speak about this subject coming back every time.
I just can't stop installing and uninstalling apps so I have no real number to give you.
I also use a cache cleaner that frees some internal every day.
I just thought there would be a max data an app can store that would avoid explosion...
Thanks for your replies guys. I went ahead and updated to DATA++. I've checked apps sizes in the "manage applications" menu and they don't seem out of the ordinary.
I guess that's what you get when you have 130+ apps installed!

It may be something wrong with the A2SD version.. When I was using that I was constantly losing memory, I switched to the data++ version and no longer have the problem.. the memory always stays the same (give or take a few mb for app caches etc..).
Something seems weird with the A2SD version for sure.. (well that's what I think anyway lol)

I can't believe it, cause a2sd+ Rom and data ++ Rom are using the same a2sd-script, the difference is, in easy words, only that the dalvik-cache is not moved to sd-ext in data ++ Rom. But I'm not the Rom-cook, perhaps I'm totaly wrong... I have only looked a bit into scripts and a few other things perhaps related to this - I'm not a real expert in this... Let's see, if lee provide us with more infos and perhaps a solution in his next build!

CHANGELOG
WARNING!
This is a Virtually Repartitioned ROM!
What this means is that you will need to take some special steps to flash this ROM. Don't worry, it's not that hard, and you will be able to return to stock with Odin at any time. The cool thing is that it will support a ton of app and app data storage and will behave like a more modern device.
The basic idea with virtual repartitioning is that the partitions are renumbered from the stock numbering, but not resized. So the most important parts of this are (as an FYI, you don't need to know this ):
-The 2GB /data partition becomes a most adequate 2GB /system partition for the ROM and GApps.
-The 12GB Internal SD partition becomes /data, so you have that space to install apps.
It is strongly recommended to use an External SD card to store the ROM/flashing files and for backups, etc., however it is not mandatory. If you do not have an External SD and you need to format the /data and /Internal storage partitions, you will have to copy the files you need from your PC again. Easy peasy, right?
FAQ/NOTES:
When formatting the device, first go to the Mount menu and make sure none of the partitions you want to format are mounted. If they are, formatting will fail.
Make sure you have NOT selected Mount USB Storage, and that the MTP button says "Enable MTP", which means it is DISABLED. If either of these are enabled, then formatting may fail.
The /system partition is formatted as EXT4.
The /data and /cache partitions can be formatted as either EXT4 or F2FS.
The Internal Storage should be formatted as EXT4 or F2FS.
The External SD card (if you have one) would be best formatted as FAT, which you can do in your computer. When the ROM boots, it will detect the card and offer you one of two different ways to use it, as "Internal storage" that will only work with your device for security (requires formatting and encryption by Android), or as "Portable storage" that will work in other devices.
CAUTION: With Internal, you will have to entirely format your card if you have issues and it can not be used in ANY other device. In fact, it will become invisible in file managers because it becomes an extension to the Internal SD card storage. Format the ExternalSD card to Internal Format at your own risk.
When formatting /data, the default behavior is that /data/media is not deleted. In order to wipe /data/media, you need to either go to TWRP > Wipe > Advanced wipe > Format data, or delete the folder manually through the file manager in TWRP.
TWRP > Wipe > Advanced wipe > Format data is also needed if you plan to use device encryption, because this step allows for a space at the end of /data to contain the encryption information. Without this, encryption will fail!
IMPORTANT: If you have flashed a modified PIT file, flash back the STOCK PIT. You can also return to stock by using Odin and a Factory Image.
If you are trying to get back to the stock partitioning:
Flash a stock TWRP recovery ZIP or IMG file, or use Odin to push a TAR recovery over. After doing this you need to reboot your device into Recovery to load up the newly flashed version, and format each of the partitions to their defaults (ext4, for the most part). If you encounter errors formatting, reboot back into Recovery and try again.
Check SamMobile.com for stock ROM packages. (There is a Stock ROM version in my AFH account which should be used for recovery purposes only.) Odin should also find the device if it's in download mode and you can flash a stock ROM back on it if you want.
If you are not sure you used the correct recovery or you just want to check the partition structure (I may ask for this), you can run each of these commands from an adb prompt, and save the output to a file for linking in the thread for help/analysis:
blkid
cat /proc/mounts
df
INSTALLATION STEPS:
Here is what you need to do; please follow the below steps carefully!
Connect your device to your computer and FULLY BACK UP YOUR FILES from both your Internal and External Storage!
While you are backing up your files, download the following files to your computer:
A custom TWRP recovery for virtually partitioned ROMs (see Post 2).
The ROM zip file (see Post 2).
A 6.0 Gapps package, pico recommended for now. (optional - see Post 2).
Copy all of these files to your device's External SD card. If you don't have an External SD card, then you will need to copy them over from your computer after formatting your internal storage.
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP!
Using your EXISTING RECOVERY, format /system, /data, /cache and /Internal Storage.
Flash a VIRTUAL REPARTITIONED RECOVERY.
REBOOT to Recovery to use the new one.
Select Wipe > Advanced Wipe > System, then press the "Repair or change file system" button. Choose "Change File System" and select EXT4. Swipe to apply.
Press the back button and verify the Size: and Free: values at the top. The System partition should be 2GB. Press the Repair button and swipe to apply.
For good measure, now press the Resize button and swipe to apply.
Repeat steps 1-3 for the Data partition, choosing EXT4 or F2FS as the file system, then Repair and finally Resize.
Repeat steps 1-3 for the Cache partition, choosing EXT4 or F2FS as the file system, then Repair and finally Resize.
Reboot to Recovery and wipe /system again.
Flash the CandySiX zip
Flash Gapps (nano or pico Open GApps or BaNks ones, etc.). You may have to experiment a little.
Reboot and Enjoy
Please give first boot a good several minutes. If you get stuck at the boot animation for a long time, try removing your ExternalSD card and reboot without it.
IMPORTANT - PROBLEMS/ISSUES:
If you have issues, I need the following:
Logs from you (logcat, last_kmsg, dmesg) linked to on pastebin.com or hasteb.in, showing the failure.
A clear description of the steps that I need to take to exactly reproduce the problem.
State what flavor build you are on: CMTE, Layers, OMS, etc...
Please DO NOT complain about problems and offer nothing to help fix it. I reserve the right to ignore you for not following insructions...
NO ETA REQUESTS!
Special thanks to @gimmeitorilltell, @bryan2894, CyanogenMod, SlimRoms, Omni and all the rest who make their source open, we can't do this on our own.

FAQ/Info
Due to several requests, here is some further information...
DISABLE HARDWARE CAPACITIVE KEYS AND LIGHTS
NOTE: This information is now outdated, as I've added ROM features for it. I'll leave it here, but hidden for now...
Several have asked about this. I am working on an in-ROM setting for each, but I simply haven't had the time. For now you can do it manually if you like.
If you decide to try/use the following instructions, please understand that you do this entirely at your own risk
Some people like to use the NavBar soft keys (on-screen). If this is you, below you will find some commands you can use to disable the built-in Hardware Keys and Hardware Key Lights.
***NOTE: Both the HW Keys switch and the HW Key Lights switch are a WIP and do not currently work properly!
Using adb or a terminal emulator app (or the built-in one that you can install in your app drawer by enabling Settings > Developer Options > Local terminal), issue the commands under the HW Keys option you want to apply.
For each item listed, copy/paste or type the commands, one line at a time, and EXACTLY as they are shown. Press ENTER after each command.
Open adb or the terminal emulator app and issue the following commands to start a shell with root access. Press ENTER after each command.
(Be sure to accept any Superuser root access propmpts you receive while doing this.)
Code:
adb shell
su root
Now issue one or a combination of the following:
To DISABLE Hardware Touch KEYS:
Code:
echo 0 > /sys/class/sec/sec_touchkey/keypad_enable
To ENABLE Hardware Touch KEYS:
Code:
echo 1 > /sys/class/sec/sec_touchkey/keypad_enable
You should be able to use the ScreenFilter app from the Play Store to disable the HW Key lights. You can even disable the Screen Filter notifications if you like (long-press on the notification, then select the "i" button), but beware this could trick you later.
Enjoy!
Let me know how this works out for you folks. I still need Mobile Data tested and please remember it's Alpha right now, so I need logs when things aren't working.
Thanks for your work. I'm excited for testing this rom.

It is a WIP right now, and there will be more Candy goodness added soon... Hopefully everything works for the Herc since I don't own one (but I have a Skyrocket and have actually flashed Herc ROMs on it )
Stand by... new build compiling now... seems something was missing for Mobile Data to work. I'll update the d/l link when ready.
EDIT: New build is up, and Mobile Data works. Happy New Year!
@NoSpamDan
candy6, thanks for the great work , u really rock man
Just a heads-up, make sure you grab this build or newer for now: CandySiX-alpha-hercules-OFFICIAL-0101-06.zip
(The previous "UNOFFICIAL" builds had broken vendor blobs and no mobile data.)
EDIT: I have updated Post 2 with a modified BanKs Dynamic GApps version that has the keyboard libraries removed. Temporarily fixes the AOSP keyboard FC. You can get Google Keyboard after setting up your account on the Play Store...
Gonna try this soon.
My assessments after set up.............this rom is rocking crazy fast than cm13 (no offense) even when browsing and using play store.
Issues for me:
1. One issue is the constant show of "sd card" info after reboot (am cool with that for now).
2. No navigation bar toggle (my captivative navigation is off and I use on screen navigation to get around everytime).
3. No DPI change option (Know will come with time as above but I hate the 240 default ,too big for me)
But with Xposed, I managed to fix all of the above with the exception of "sd card" constant nagging.
This rom rocks, will update if I find any issues.
Thanks.

I would call those preferences, not issues...
1. Swipe away the notification unless you have not initially set up the card (you didn't quote the notification message you are getting).
2. Nav bar is in the next build... are your touch light buttons broken?
3. DPI may be forthcoming, not sure.
EDIT: Navbar does not appear to be present in the new build. Looking into it.
New build is up in Post 2: CandySiX-alpha-hercules-OFFICIAL-0102-16.zip
This one has Quick Settings Tile Customization, Status Bar mods, Battery mods... more features to come in the near future!

About the first build if we talk about performance, you can put beta because the rom works super fast. For a fledgling rom it is excellent. It would alfa because it lacks certain configurations and features (such as screen capture, buttons Turn off lights ...) but it is significant that installs Facebook, which in other roms including lollipop did not occur. Thanks!

Depends what version you are runnig because Vol Dn. + Power has always been for screenshot, plus in my last build, there were Power menu customizations like Screen Shot for those who prefer that method. Look in Settings > Candy Interface.
CandySiX was maturing on the previous CyanogenMod base but the decision was made to switch to an AOSP base. Come CAF repos are needed and still some CM too, but things are speeding back into shape! Next build should have NavBar (I hope). Will be testing soon.
New build up in Post 2 with working Navigation Bar and some other things - CandySiX-alpha-hercules-OFFICIAL-0103-04.zip. Things will be slowing down here shortly once I return to work...
New build with more features is in Post 2: CandySiX-alpha-hercules-OFFICIAL-0105-05.zip
Sorry, no time to outline the changes but should have Quick Unlock, new boot animation and several other updates...
EDIT: Seems like there is no boot animation, but it indeed boots...
I'm looking into it, but in the interim you can flash the stock Google one:

Flashed the bootanimation zip now stuck in bootloop..
Anyways awesome ROM!
Fast and stable
Thanks for this.. =)
2 issues though: a) phone reboots when using camera flash (perhaps on low battery)
b) external SD card is not mounted it only shows as a portable storage - no ext SD in gallery etc.

Bootloop? Please explain further, because it's not the boot animation file. I personally flashed the boot animation zip found in the downloads section and it works perfectly.
If you get in bootloop or have a camera flash issue (if it wasn't because of low battery), plug the device into your PC and get a dmesg log while in an adb shell, or reboot to recovery and pull a /proc/last_kmsg log. Also log the issue with logcat and post the logs on pastebin, providing the links here please. I can't fix what I can't reproduce or see in a log.
If you formatted your external SD card as portable that is how it will be used... (not as internal). Try reformatting it within the ROM.
Cheers!

Honestly, I didn't know that marshmallow has introduced the new portable function for External SD. I was looking for the old way of External SD mount (I don't know what to call it.) again it was my fault.

I didn't post the logs because the problems were caused by my side. I shouldn't have disabled some apps and flashed boot animation after using the rom.
As you might have figured out i'm a noob (guilty! I know I deserve to die! =P ), one more thing, there's no youtube, calender, calculator and browser apps included in the package/rom. Or is it just me?
This is a perfect rom.
Many Thanks!
