[Theme, Kinda..] Trans ! - Adam Themes and Apps

So let me start off by saying I don't have an adam.
But I have a G Tablet and was playing around with Eden thanks to Roebeet. Certain things annoyed me about it so I changed them. It also works on your devices, so I figured i should put it in here. I didn't change much, but I think it helps. I may start to theme Eden a little more, as i do, I'll put updates in this thread also.
Flash this in clockwork: GAdamTrans
This is already included in this: Two more XDA-influenced Enhancement Packs for the Adam by Roebeet
And here are some pics: Pics

What exactly is changed?

The "!" is no longer green.
The background of the "!" is curved to match the red launcher.
The status bar is transparent, the pull down is not.
The no wireless signal is transparent (No signal on G tab).
They annoyed me enough to change them... But that's it, I was really just playing around with the framework so if I convert my tron theme over i'm used to it.

[BYO theme] Give me your ingredients, I will do the cooking

BUILD YOUR OWN THEME
Ok folks, here it is, a change to make your own theme. As cool as I think I am, I bet you guys have some pretty good ideas for themes so Im making this a cooking thread for your own person recipes.
These are the ingredients I need:
- Build type, RC30 and ADP1 are preferred but I can make RC8 as well
- Icon pack, you can find any group of icons to use in an size, this means application icons, status bar icons, just anything you want but you have to supply it
- Image for the status bar in portrait and landscape.
So ya, I am kinda figuring this out as I go so post what you want made into a theme and I will see what I can do.
You rock!! I gather a list for ya and post it soon.

This is a pretty cool idea, though I suspect you're gonna get absolutely flooded with requests
If you need files sizes or types let me know or ask and Im sure a bunch of people can answer.
You do know there are requests for themes here.
You can start with a few of those
gucci theme
i dont really have any real ingredients as you put it jus diff icons and use the gucci colors
Well I was hoping it would be more for the people who know exactly what they want and dont know how to put it together than just the people coming up with new ideas. So if you know you you want my carbon fiber status bar, with the silver status icons from Blue Star 5 and defaults icons with one of your own, I could take those things and make a theme out of them in like 30 minutes.
Just close this thread if you would rather me pick it up in the other thread.
What you stated is exactly what i had in mind. Ill pm with my "wishlist and icons" and we can go from there.

I really like your Karbon theme, id like the status bar just grey like deep black, your status icons , and this battery meter. is this possible?
http://www.filehosting.org/file/deta...parannoyed.rar
Not sure but i think i saw that icon set on deviant art. might want to take a look.
The status icons from Karbon are great, just the batt meter change.
here are a few icons id like included:
D3ath star=settings
Kerry King guitar=my music
internet=browser
email=email
not sure if you are changing the settings context (menu key menu) with pics
craniac=dialer
flame=messaging
book=contacts
I have an idea....this is gonna get carried away lol
Place all pics in a zip folder with a text file directing what should get done and upload a zip ONLY.

Im building it now, I assume you want RC30 right? And if you can get those icons as PNG files with transparent backgrounds it would be best, if not I can see what I can do.
And just to confirm, the status bar in a dark color will make it so you cant see the text, if thats fine its fine with me.
To respond to Mikey1022, would it also be ok to host them on a site like photobucket and link the pic in the post or would you prefer zip files?
Theme ic iconsons

I would just say use your own judgement. If someone will look at the theme and be instantly reminded of another one you pulled from you might want to give a lot of credit to it, but if it was just a platform to start with and its mostly your own creation I would just mention who the theme came from. Just think about it as if it was your theme being used by someone else. Personally its a huge compliment.
you are right perhaps the light grey status bar from macdroid would be better.
Yes RC30, sorry for the lack of info.
I am really contemplating dual booting fedora or mandriva, to better acquaint myself with this stuff.
Ya, I was going to do it with this one but it was way too dark until we can change font colors.
good call, i hope you guys will have access to changing font color soon.
Thanx for doin this, til i force myself to figure it out on my own.
Just for everyone's knowledge, these icons are not my creation. I have collected them over the last year or so from different icon packs mainly downloaded from deviantart. this is mainly a personal theme, that i find appealing for me to look at.

Theme Black Droid (WIP)

I've been working on a theme, mainly for myself but I will probably upload it if anyone is interested. My question is how can I change the pull down bar image and background for the notification, I have found that some themes do this, but I have searched everywhere with no explanation of how. I found an image that looks like a pull down bar but its a 9 patch image. (is there any progress on using the 9 patch tool in the SDK to change these?)
PS. The background in the attached shot is not part of theme, I think it will work with any dark background. Also not sure if I am going to bother to change any of the icons at this stage, maybe later on.
Please upload for ADP1.1
yo! the theme colors look cool, but the menu button at the bottom seems not the right fit..maybe its just be..
as for the question you actually asked..i have no idea..i am sorry
At the moment, all I have changed is the status bar background, the App Menu dragbar at the bottom, the google search widget and the clock. I will look into making different version once I have finished it (first version is going to be RC8)
What is it that varies between firmwares that requires different versions? Is it the contents of the Framework-Res.apk and Launcher different for RC8, RC30, ADP1 etc?
Great
looks great
Love the show Lost !!! Cant wait to see how this turns out..
The wallpaper (which I got from an app in the market) wasn't really part of the theme per se, its just the one I am using currently, though I think it looks good. RE: original question I kinda worked it after now, just editing the 9 patch images for the search bar and notification and it worked ok.
where is the notification bar image though?
Wow look nice. Here were did you got that bbc new app. I did a search for it in the android app store and nothing came up.

UPDATED: Manup Blue for Amon_RA 1.1.0H (23rdJuly)

Here is a ported theme that was originally done by Manup for Dude's G1 rom.
This is for those with a 32A phone and is the Amon_RA 1.0.1H rom.
I hope i have done it justice porting it. I have added a couple of my own preferences and will be adding more. It is a VERY works in progress.... a very quick port. Statusbar is now black. havent updated other shots.
This is template size so you can easily update it.
Theme includes latest launcher from Cyanogen with 5 home screens and extra apps in drawer.
I have also attached a matching dxtop theme if anyone is interested.
If you like it donate to manup456. He worked hard on this and deserves the full praise for it.
Grab it from here:

- add the new modified launcher with customisable apps drawer ++
- black status bar with white writing (white clock not possible at this time)- FIXED

that's nice but i am talking about Amon_RA's build.
To be absolutely honest with you; I think it looks horrific.
hehe... your opinion... but thanks for that.. i'll be sure to tell Manup you thing its crap.
dont like it, dont use it.
Don't worry, I won't use it. Disliking this theme doesn't mean I dislike everything he did. One should be able to recieve both positive and negative feedback. A solution to make this look more attractive would be disabling jpeg compression in your preview screenshots. Jpeg makes everything look horrible and blurred, especially hard reds, blues and greens. I'd start with enhancing that. Furthermode I'd not downsize the previews because that blurs the whole thing as well.
To state I didn't just suck the feedback out of my thumb:
You can barely read the battery status (looks like he modified the battery I did for my own theme).
The color for the background behind the time doesn't fit the other colors.
On the first screenshot you/he used 4-5 teints of blue... it's overly blue.
yeah i see your point.... didnt even look at the pics myself.... sorry about that... just stuck them straight in from what screenshot app took....
as for the blues- i see what you mean- never really looked at it that closely.....i did do the clock bgd colour though- with the same blue it was too dark to read clock properly and i was unable to edit services.jar to make it any other colour....tbh i think i prefer the different blues....is that an issue having too many blues? I am in medical field, not graphics....
i changed the battery on the black one so i could see it properly....good point.... i must have noticed that too.... or maybe it was coincidence i changed it.....
i prefer hero myself but occasionally i will try this- a bit dark for my likings though.....
thx for the feedback though- when i make one myself from scratch maybe i will get you to look over it- seems you have better eyes than me..... i really dont look that closely at it....
I'm an experienced theme designer I made dozens of Sony Ericsson themes in both THM+sysgfx and Flash Lite 2.1 Check "Photographer" profile at http://www.se-nse.net .
Maybe my critique was a little harsh, sorry about that
Too many teints of the same color can cause disharmony and the black and blue combination isn't the best there is... I mean, there is no variation in this theme. It's all black with a bit of blue...
To get you started: The blue you applied behind the clock is more purple than blue, try changing it to a more contrastive color like an almost white, and definately don't use harsh rectangles in a round shaped UI like Android Instead use rounder shapes, try Photoshop's rounded rectangle tool with a nice r. One of the things I do like about the theme is the "Android" text on drawn down statusbar in the 4st screenshot but it seems not to be entirely centered.
how to install Template-RAv1.1.0H-signed.zip ??
thanks
if you have Amon_RA's new recovery- 1.2.0H then you just stick the zip file on sd card, then go to recovery and select "Apply sdcard:choose zip". Select the one you want and off it goes.
if you don't have it, get it. In the mean time rename to update.zip and install via recovery as per normal rom flash.

[THEME] Fisha21 custom framework and apps (updated 2nd May)

Current version:
Version 3.5
Multiple firmwares, multiple battery versions - means a confusion of frameworks! Tried to keep it simpler by keeping the version number to represent changes to the icon content of the framework, and putting the FW version/ batt mod in the filename.
So, there are currently a total of 12 variants of v3.5, representing the combinations of FW version, battery mod and reduced notification bar icon size. The filename should tell you exactly what you are getting!
To keep things simpler, I have uploaded to 4shared. Just follow the folder structure, and you should find the version you want!
DOWNLOAD LINK
Installation instructions
As we don't have a custom recovery yet, the easiest way to put these on the device is via ADB, either over USB or wifi. As always, back up any important info/apps first. Once connected, use the following ADB commands:
Code:
adb push framework-res.apk /sdcard/
adb push services.jar /sdcard/
adb shell
su
stop
cp /sdcard/framework-res.apk /system/framework/
cp /sdcard/services.jar /system/framework/
chmod 644 /system/framework/framework-res.apk
chmod 644 /system/framework/services.jar
sync
start
These are primarily based on, and inspired by, the excellent Desire themes by Esk0dro0id and Alexdiaz, so credit where it's due. Feel free to modify and tweak this however you want, just maybe acknowledge where it came from
Needless to say, only attempt this if you are comfortable modifying system files. As we are using the SDE for this, the potential risk of bricking/ irreversible damage is low, but you should still have some idea what you're doing!

Thanks fisha21
Awesome work. I'll definitely be doing some tinkering of my own.
I was thinking about the battery issue from the time I first noticed it reported the percentage like that (theming is a mental illness) and my guess was the battery icon itself is your regular series of icons and the percentages are overlaid on top. Is that what is going on? In which case if you use the same number/basic shape of battery icons, the percentages should overlay on top of them no problem.
Time to change the notification shade . . .

Interesting thought. I used 100 icons, but they had numbers as part of the png. Might try without the numbers. Stock Archos framework only has 6 icons for battery, so it may only change the displayed icon at set battery intervals?

That's what I would guess: its set up like your standard Android phone where it switches at 80, 60, etc or whatever the breakdown is. When I get around to it I'll give it a try unless you beat me to it.
I've never used rootexplorer so it will be interesting to see how badly I bungle this trying it my way.
edit: Also, this type of stuff makes Uruk on the SD card a lot more attractive. Set up an SD as sort of a testing ground for the framework process and worse comes to worse you just pull out the card and rock Uruk from the internal. After I give it a shot I'll be able to give you feedback on the internal memory process, but I'm sure its the same as doing it on the card.

Ok, have put icons for 80-100% in 1% increments into framework. Notification bar shows the 100% icon until batt drops to 80%, then shows 80% icon. So percentage is overlaid as you said, but it will only change the batt png at set intervals. Thanks for pointing that out, clears up one of the issues that was bothering me!
From what I remember of my Desire modding, to get the icons to change at 1% increments required changes in the kernel. Little over my head!
Just curious, what widget is that you have loaded on the main screen where it has wifi, bluetooth, portrait/landscape, audio, and brightness? All the combo ones I found have phone in it as well which is useless, but this one looks perfect.

That's the Dazzle Switcher - I really like it as you can choose exactly what toggles to include. I'm using LauncherPro, so have resized the widget (usually 5 toggles would take up 5 homescreen slots).

Not sure how you got on, but have uploaded a new version with custom notification shade (screenshot attached). Also a little heads up - Archos use a 180x180 pixel png for the notification background, and then tile it to fill the whole area. I got around this by creating a 1024x600 png to use instead. Hope that saves you a bit of time!

Your shade looks great - so good in fact that I may just ride your coat tails. Honestly I'll probably use your setup for a while and make notes of tweaks I'd like to make before branching off of yours. No promises to anybody about a p0rk theme release, but I hope we start to see more people pick up on this so we can get a variety of flavors out in the open.
You definitely deserve some props for getting it started.

Thanks for your comments. Good to know it works just as well with Uruk on internal SD.
Have to say, the notification shade came from alexdiaz's Desire theme, so credit to him really - I just edited a bit.

I've got a rough one in place now but I can sympathize with all the devs that complain about the touch buttons. My battery icon is overlapped. A few more tweaks and I'll probably start a thread for it. I'm partial to blue myself, so it's basically just a port of JRummy's LithiumMod blue theme (unless he gets back to me at DroidForums that he doesn't want me sharing the plagarism).
Updated to Market v.2.3.4
Have been trying out some modified Market apks, thought I'd post them here as well (thanks to woti23 for trying the blue/white version)
I found them on Esk02k's thread here, but credit also goes to 00.ante and pendo. All I've done is extract the .apks and upload them here!
To install, rename the .apk to Vending.apk, drop into /system/app using Root Explorer, and set permissions to: Read for user, group and others, and to Write for user.
Also, I really like the functionality of the Notion Ink keyboard (as posted here), but I wasn't too keen on the colour.
So I have edited the png's to a darker colour. One side effect is that is shows up the low quality of the original png's, and I will at some point try and neaten things up a bit. Just thought I'd share it with you guys anyway, in case anyone's interested.
Just put the keyboard.apk into /system/app, make sure permissions are set to Read for user, group and others, and to Write for user.
Enjoy!
you might want to put in the instructions that you need to rename the apk in your download from "fisha12 2.3 framework-res.apk" to framework-res.apk else people are going to end up with no framework-res.apk and therefore a nonworking tablet!

[Q] need a rom/mod/theme to fix my epic

Please move if I posted in wrong section. Was unsure where to request some help.
Background: rooted since feb, have had my share of experience with flashing, odin and rerooting, also some minor bricks needing a battery pull. Im also deaf, and I use my phone for everything but music and calls. Still need phone to use with hamilton app if emergency. Main big one, my vision isnt perfect.
I plan to start from scratch. Odic back to stock, reroot, flash it ei22. I have my eyes set for the mostlystock rom by xbtx unless just flashing themes and mods would work better for what im after? Keep reading to find out what. The less clutter the better. And ill delete whatever I may not need. Like the voodoo sound apk or voice record and dialer. I will use titanium backup to restore my apps.
I can just delete anything related to sound or voice controls but im having a hard time when it comes to font size and resolution. I have font an app to change resolution size along with other apps to change just font size. Yeah ok they work but not exactly clearly. When I tried it with roms it seems like the rom is set to a spacific size so when I try to enlarge font or resolution, certain menues dont configure correctly. The text would be half hiding under the icon above it for that menu or id personaly love to be able to make the app drawer 3x4 so the names of the apps or folders are on one line and not cut in half and shown on two lines.
It also helps when when all the menus are black with white text, same for the signal bar. White bars not blue. Blue is hard to see. I think I seen mods for this but if anyone can revamend the rom and maybe create a theme/mod I can flash to correct these problems. Please let me know.
Im sure im not the only person who has bad eyes. I just wish I could enlarge things or have a better app or menu to really customize font size. I dont care for fancy font. I prefer arial bold if I had a choice lol or the stock font just bold. Anyone up to help me out? Thanks so much!
Ok
So if i read that correctly "
You want a mod or something to make something bigger?
What exactly do u want to make bigger?
yeah the font. there are apps out there that do this but the main problem comes with the app drawer labels or when in actual apps that has a menu that comes up from the bottom of screen.
spare parts doesnt save the enlarged app size. is it possible to make a type of menu baked into a theme that changes font size? and a 3x4 app drawer option?
ok as i think about this. basically its a theme and has these spacific things baked into it.
--3x4, 3x5 app drawer option
--change font size 12-20pt (i use 16-18 but know others who would prefer bigger or if my eyes get blurry id like the option)
--black background white text for ALL menus
--circle battery mod (green is easier to see then the blue)
--keep signal strength bars white
--the brighter green ive seen used can be the secondary color for the other various things, like wifi, 4g, or bluetooth is activated. or as something downloads. whatever
i use golauncher bc i like the folder setup. so no need to add a launcher. is this possible? anything else i may need to make more clear or change?
i appreciate any help! i wish i knew how to do what you devs and themers do! im a graphic designer so thats as close as i get to creating things
Bigger density? That would appear to make everything bigger.

Changing denstiy will make everything bigger but I do not know how to do this... I am sure there is a thread somewhere on here about doing that just search how to increase density and I'm sure you will find something
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
An app from the market called lcd resolution does this. But when u change the density, it makes EVERYTHING huge and then ur screen gets very smushed and u can't view as much at one time. I use this but only increase the density a tad. Then I use another app for font. Looking around ill just find the black menu theme I'm after. I've seen it somewhere. I flashed the cleangb rom and so far its got what I was after.
Is it possible to make a 3x4 and 3x5 app drawer tweak? Id like 3 colums to beable to read the app/folder title on one line. Thanks for ur guys feedback!

ok as i think about this. basically its a theme and has these spacific things baked into it.

Which font to you want to make larger?
If the font was white wouldn't that work. I think if you make the font larger it would not work in some of the menus. If you still want this done p.m. me.
