[Q] Porting android on Java OS - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

If some one can port android on chinese phones with Java OS will add great value to them. This will help in using low cost phones comparable to big brands. People will pay for them too.

Like the Chinese phones that run oPhone?

We get cheap chinese qwerty phone or even samsung and nokia have them

Impossible.

I second this as Android needs certain parts that cheap Chinese phones don't have

windows phone 7 for LG KS20?

Does anyone know that Windows phone 7 compatible with LG KS20 ?
I am really happy when have some news.
Not to sure if they've been made official yet, but the minimum specs for phone 7 are very high end, and include specialised hardware buttons. I'm not sure any device meets the specs so I wouldn't hold you're breath.

No phone will be able to be upgraded from WM6.x to WP7.
Nope...
I doubt it... Just get a theme or shell... And uhm... i think our devices should be able to run wp7 apps anyway..

You have the same amount of luck having iOS ported to your phone as you do WP7.

I believe that's what the card would do, add the feature.

Atrix can utilize many things, don't worry.
The software would have to be written too. A driver.
Does that near there is some kind of sdio slot?
I found several but they were WAY too pricy...
Hi,
I contacted Netcom the manufacturer and have gotten virtually nothing from them. I contacted 'Tyfone' and they wanted $10,000 for a android developers kit. Then I tried 'Device Fidelity' and they wanted $999 for a android developers kit. Then I tried 'Logomotion' and they were only interested if I was some big bank or user that would buy lots and lots of product for payment systems. I also tried 'SpecTec' but their product seems to be possible vapor ware. In short if you are not doing payment systems or are not loaded then you are out of luck. I am amazed that no one seems interested in the huge potential for this technology beside payment systems.

Maybe NFC as an accesory: http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/usb/adk.html
2.3.4 is compatibile with ADK
But module would be quiete big...
According to nfcworld.com/2011/09/23/310148/tyfones-nfc-on-microsd-technology-to-go-into-volume-production, "Tyfone’s NFC-on-microSD technology to go into volume production", from September 2011:
The US NFC specialist has signed a manufacturing and distribution deal with Taiwan's AboMem technology that will see the company's SideTap NFC-enabled microSD device become widely available for the first time.
[...]
Companies wishing to deploy SideTap microSD secure element solutions will be able to purchase devices directly from AboMem, while working with Tyfone on TSM software integration for identity provisioning and implementation of mobility services.
The deal also includes a distribution agreement that will see SideTap microSD cards — which include the necessary NFC circuitry and antenna, a secure element, and memory — being made available to consumers throughout China via AboMem's existing distribution network.

So still no cigar, I guess.
I'm not even going to worry about NFC until they show up at Wal-Mart. That's when they will explode. Until then they're a novelty that only works in very few select places, kinda like Windows.

Sorry, is this replacing an HP touchpad running android or where you planning on installing android on the tf600t (impossible at this time)?
Most of the basic windows 8 apps seem to be uninstallable. Apart from weather for some reason.

Yes, you can remove them.
Technically even the basic or core apps can be removed, it just takes a bit of work. They don't consume that much storage though, and you can remove them from the Start screen very easily.
Honestly dont buy the Asus. It's really bad quality.

Seems that this is a software issue, introduced by one of the latest updates... im sure it will get resolved soon.
other than that, how is the tablet, and keyboard dock? is it worth it for 400 brand new?
has the app ecosystem for RT improved much since launch?

Seems to be more related to static electricity which is a hardware issue that should have been caught during the design process.
Installing android on my Asus RT TF600T
I am absolutely hating windows 8.1 on my Asus RT TF 600T and disparately want to rid myself of it. Is it possible to install an Android system OS on it and where would I get such a thing from? I have hard rooting it is possible on the earlier versions on the transformer Pads .... will this work on the TF600T ?
... nope. I mean, in most ways, Windows RT devices are already "rooted"; you've got Admin access and arbitrary control over the file system and registry. However, if you mess with the bootloader or system libraries in any way, the firmware will prevent the system from booting. So no, Android isn't currently an option. Why'd you buy a Windows tablet if you wanted an Android one?

What car chargers works flawlessly with the M7 ?

Bought a couple... Get the incompatibility message on the screen
Anything that works for sure from your experience ?

Which one did you get (link?), just curious why they didn't work. I typically used all kinds of android and apple chargers with my Note 2, but as you know Samsung likes to make it universal (and also to p!ss off Apple ). I don't have experience with HTC One, but probably going with brand names like Anker where it has one port specific for Apple and the other one for Android. Perhaps the one you got before was "universal" with apple port so your HTC One didn't like it?

Has anyone gotten a new Nokia N1 running Lollipop yet?

Although for the Chinese market, I would love to get my hands on one here in NYC to see how it turned out compared to their Winblows based devices.
I got it ... Its nice in look ... But I just found that the headset is not working ... I just tried to use iPhone headset but doesn't !
i got one.
@ran816 the headset is working after an update (a couple of updates ago)
Does anyone know where to import one from? I really want one but I don't want to pay $450 off ebay for one.

I agree...I'd like to get one as well but buying it on eBay would be a ripoff. Anyone have any good info on how to get one in the US for closer to cost?
I'd like to get rid of my Nexus 7....it's just too small....

Yeah, I tried asking all of the sellers if they would accept any offers but they all said no. I'm willing to pay 300+ shipping which is reasonable considering that's a 20% profit for them give or take. I just can't justify that much of a markup for something without a good reason. It should he released in Spain/UK soon anyway.
I had a Nexus 9 but I wasn't a big fan. I liked my Nexus 7 2013 more than the 9 by far. I used to also have a LG GPad 8.3 and I loved it until I broke it. I'm hoping this will be a good tablet to fill the Gpads slot now that I'm tablet less (unless my Nexus 6 is a tablet )

Where do they ship from? Are they a reputable vendor? I realize other members have bought one from them but I'd rather be on the safe side
I bought a Nokia N1 about a week ago from China. Already got 4 system updates. Out of the box was 5.0.2. Latest build number is A5CN410.
The build quality is unbelievable for the price range. Not to mention the screen. Only one issue, no Google Play Services, yet.
I bought the nokia n1 on this site: smartophone.com
it works very well, but still not google apps !
Nokia N1 ,Chinese Edition.
I've got one ,but it sucks by now,'cause it ships without google service,a lot of apps works incorrectly on it .
I bought mine on Amazon...Google Play Store right out of the box. Be sure you get the Taiwan version!
Loving it so far!
