Thanks for the reply guys. I did get a lot of people from other states who wanted to check this out, only 3 were from my area, these are the people I will concentrate on first.
Those people are from the following cities..
Rohnert Park
Tomales
Santa Rosa
I'm still open to new reviewers from within my local area so keep sending emails.

Are you just looking for local people to avoid shipping? I'm in SoCal and if you don't get many other responses I would love to try it out and let you know what I think.

It's faster and we can have better control over if we get our phone case back, we made some alterations that we need to physically show the designer but wanted to get some feed back on what we currently have as well. It's important that the case is returned to us safely.

id love to test, but im in mass...

If you decide to open it to users in the New Hampshire area, I'd be glad to review for you.
[email protected]

I'm a technical journalist in the Missouri area if you are needing a few blog type reviews. I also work closely with a few people from the Gizmodo side of the spectrum as well, so if you really want to reach people, you might drop me a line.

Wow this looks great! Gonna have to hit this up asap! If you need a tester on the east coast (D.C.) let me know!

I live in North Dakota and the shipping in and out of here is very cheap. I have been doing reviews for 2 years now and I would be happy to do a case.

They are using the excalibur in this video. This is pretty cool stuff. T-mobile is on the list of buyers. I think we'll start seeing these in restaurants pretty soon.
Also, here but without dash:

impressive
Just returning to the US? Just kidding, but it's kinda old news. Lotsa videos out there on it though, this one was my favorite: http://on10.net/Blogs/larry/first-look-microsoft-surfacing-computing/
Very slick. Don't think you'll be seeing it in restaurants anytime soon... Vegas Casinos first, then maybe trickling elsewhere (airport lounges, etc) Realistically, most restaurants don't have the staff or resources to implement something like this, they're struggling just to keep their POS systems in order. While there may be an early adopter here or there, most won't like the idea of a systems failure having such an immediate and drastic impact on sales as well as transaction processing.

Looking for early adopters and technology innovators....ie Galaxy Nexus owners =)

If you like P2P, want control of your privacy, and think social has gone to sh!t, then we want to talk to you!
Despite the pervasive nature of social networks and the hyper-connectivity of our mobile devices, "social" has become, ironically, a very impersonal and isolating experience. It is time to take "social" back to its roots, which we strongly feel should be more personal, engaging, and "analog". We have built a platform and some applications that facilitates real-life interactions through common interests, and I'm looking to sit down with forward-looking people who want to participate in early Beta testing and give us frank/honest feedback. The application leverages a lesser-known feature that is available for the very first time in Ice Cream Sandwich, and I believe it will upend how people discovery/share/interact with others.
I am thinking about hosting pizza/beer nights a few days a week (in and around the SF/Bay Area) so I can meet and get to know some of you beautiful people, and wax the philosophy of why we do what we do =) If you're interested, love technology (and have a Galaxy Nexus), and want to play with a cool new app before it goes live on the app store, send an email to info at ekatasystems dot com!
Hope to see some of you folks in the wild!
ps you can check out our website a www dot tapestry-app dot com, but don't sign up from the website for the meet-up!
I don't live in the area so I can't attend, but I did sign up for private beta access. I'm very interested to see what your app will bring.
Same here. Looking forward for testing and more info on the subject)
We will launch the basic version of the app before Google IO, but wanted to get some feedback before then. Will let you guys know!
Anyone in the Bay Area, particularly Mountain View, Palo Alto, Los Altos, Sunnyvale, Menlo Park, San Jose, San Francisco, etc seeing this post?
looks cool...i'm really good at finding bugs and do live in the bay area....still in high school....
can test the app for you though
ezcats, it doesn't matter if you're in high school or a convalescent home. If you like gadgets and like to share pictures (at least for the first app), then you're part of the family =)
Drop me an email directly (info at ekatasystems dot com), so I know who you are....I've gotten 20+ requests submitted from the website, so I have no idea if they are local....
If you're willing to pick me up from the airport I guess I could fly out there since I work for an airline. lol
oh and did I mention we're looking for summer interns for QA? =)
Wow I'm surprised free pizza and beer didn't garner more attention.
interesting
I am very curious, count me in. I live in NY so no pizza and beer for me lol.
Got a ton of responses...one more bump to try and catch some Bay Area folks!
I live in the SF bay area and would be willing to test your app out!
This sounds right up my alley...too bad I'm on the opposite coast. Don't know that pizza and beer is enough incentive to make the trip =)
Sadly on the east coast too :'(

0mie custom doors status thread

Since indiegogo apparently thought the best way to dodge accountability was to poof the entire campaign on their site, I figure a thread here is warranted. Please post if you never received your door as well. I'm rather curious what percentage of his orders actually did get filled.
As for myself I emailed indiegogo and PayPal and neither seem to be inclined to take much action to actually get anyone's money back. Perhaps if there's enough of us an action can be forced. I really don't like the idea of letting this slide
Having received the email explanation today about the doors, I made the thread title more hospitable. I already went and grabbed another door from Gruber which I'm happy with though, so will be requesting a refund myself. How that turns out will decide how I feel about this.
Yeah same boat here. Not exactly thrilled that my attempts to contact both through the indigogo site and to 0Mie himself on xda have gone unanswered. I contributed I think about the 8th of March, and not long after that would have been the last email update I received from him about progress and dispatch updates.
Wow - I came here just to post this thread...
Never received the battery door, and PayPal closed the dispute because the transaction was more than 45 days old... That'll teach you to give the benefit of the doubt to the person. Did ANYONE receive a door? The contribution level got up to ~$7,000... He had a website up for a few days, but it looks like the domain is no longer registered to him -- Who-Is registry.
Does anyone know who this guy is? I found that Indiegogo thread here on XDA...
Wow ...I guess he was on some news sites as well ...damn ..

Well - looks like we're SOL --
utcu said:
He took my $65 contribution for a battery cover and spare battery, as well as many others' contributions and disappeared. The last I heard from him was over a month ago. He sent out an email saying some of the covers were done and that he was working on others and if anyone needed to get a hold of him to contact him through his site. (andetch.com)
As of a week or so ago, the site is no longer active, indiegogo and paypal have pretty much told all of us we're SOL, and people who were told their doors "were shipped" never received them. Both of the sites he operates from have been taken down and no one can contact him on his Google+ page either. I would never talk negatively on someone without good reason and I'm not sure if maybe he had something come up and couldn't follow through with the project but any type of response or refund would be nice. Here's the original project page with comments from many other unhappy contributors. http://www.indiegogo.com/Galaxy-Nexus-Laser-Etched-Doors?c=comments
It's very awesome how Gruverdesigns is helping all of us out. Dealing with them has been a great pleasure thus far. They actually respond to messages.

I hope this guy goes to hell, seriously... I was one of the first people that contributed when I saw his campaign and even helped promote it a little bit. I feel betrayed and it makes it even worse that I helped promote this liar.
And I'm in the same boat, haven't received any updates, emails, or battery door yet.
Still had his google plus page from early in the campaign. This is what convinced me he is dodging rather than just MIA for some real reason. The plus page has been unused a while, but there's a tweet a few days back, and we're adding stuff to our 'wish list' on april 10th...which is after my 2nd polite email inquiry about what the status of the campaign is...

The whole thing seems so weird though, the guy has been active for 2 years with that name and done other stuff, no real reason to burn people now.
he was on all the big sites , someone tell these sites

Somebody file something with FBI. Worth a try. $7000 is probably a felony charge.
let it be.
Did anyone else receive this email on 4/9/2012?

Looks like my auto-reply away message didn’t get setup up properly, my family was in town from San Diego last week and I hadn’t seen them in almost a year. I was spending time with them. I am getting some orders ready to ship now, I have yours ready to be etched. That will probably happen tomorrow. Sorry for the delay, I now have to reply to about 100 new emails.

I had spoken to him about a month ago. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt but that was last email I received from him. I even got a stamp.com tracking email a week after he met the minimum requirement but never received anything number never even updated.
I donated back when the funding was only $30
I still haven't received my door....welp
I received mine. I ordered it on March 12th via his website (they day before I ordered the Google limited from ebay) and they both came in on the 31st. I had to contact him via an xda pm after a week of not hearing anything about the shipping though, but I eventually got it. I think he said he got swamped with orders plus was busy at work so he got delayed getting the orders out.

Considering the amount of received vs not received, I doubt it's just a "I got really busy" scenario...
The lack of communication is also troubling...
Oh I totally agree. Especially when in the first pm I included my Google checkout order number and his reply back was "did you order GSM or cdma version". Ugh really? That's why I included the order number

I paid for my gsm door plus international shipping early on and got a couple emails early on but nothing for ages. No door yet. I have given up on ever getting it...
I would love to be able to take back the other post I made in the other thread. He was nothing less than great to speak with at the beginning of the campaign. I'm definitely frustrated at this point though. No responses to emails or inquiries just seems too suspicious. There's also the matter of his sites now being inactive. If I end up getting a response, a refund, or what I paid for I'll be more than happy to delete the posts I've made.
I think we'd all love to give the benefit of the doubt, but the ball is very much in his court to respond and he isn't at all.
His profile shows activity on xda after this thread began yesterday. If there's an explanation, we're listening.

Exactly - I think the majority of us understand that life gets in the way, and it's not always possible to finish what you start -- but a refund is at least needed. As it stands now, he stole the money.
Found a google profile for his website but like everything else there hasn't been any activity since mid March.

[BETA] Aluminum Case design for HTC ONE - Looking for couple/few Beta Testers

EDITED for UPDATE:
BETA CLOSED - Thanks to everyone for your interest and comments!
The Badasscase for the HTC ONE has been Released - Picture below!
End of EDIT
Hello XDA Members!
I am looking for a couple people to beta test a PROTOTYPE version of my cases for the HTC ONE.
Interested in people who can provide detailed feedback, enjoy experimenting, and hopefully have some knowledge of building/fabrication/hard core tinkering, etc. - Also, "vision" is a major plus... what I mean is if you are the type of person who sees and old, rusty, beat up classic car... and you immediately visualize the "Showcar" in your mind.
This is limited to the USA for shipping costs (which I will cover) and you absolutely MUST own the HTC ONE.
Social media nuts, bloggers, reviewers, would also be a plus.
I will be posting some pictures of the prototypes on Monday or Tuesday, and am also looking for feedback here on the different designs I have going so far.
If interested, shoot me a PM and please let me know a little bit about yourself! I will probably not reply back until Sunday/Monday, but I will reply to everyone who inquires.
Thanks

Might be interested too. Love to see what you have in mind
I'm buying my HTC One tomorrow and I'd be totally down to testing this out.
I'm interested.
I'd wanna test it out, but I'm in Aus. What if I was willing to pay postage ?
Edit: And of course, I do have a HTC One too.
I would like to beta test! I currently have my HTC One
In Florida, ordered my Stealth Black today, definitely interested.
Update : Picked up my Glacier Silver today.
HTC One Beta Tester Application
I would like to participate!
I'm in Florida and I have my HTC One in hand and would love to help you out!!
I have my silver One in hand. I'm in PA. I've also had several aluminum cases for my various other phones, so I might be able to offer you some insight in that regard.
Definitely interested, in California, with a silver One.
Also, if it helps I have a 1983 supra restored + modded (showcar, haha)
Man this is right up my alley as a conceptual design engineer.....shame I'm in the UK.....let me know if you want any drawings thrown together......

Thanks for the overwhelming response!
Hello all,
Thanks for the huge response! I have a ton of PM's to go through and will be doing so throughout the day. I will make some decisions within the next 24-48 hours.
As far as shipping outside the US, there are a few reasons for this. Mainly the time delay involved getting it shipped/received.
From the responses, it seems some of you have not seen any of the cases I have done. I was thinking most would see my signature, but alas that doesn't show up when viewing from a phone (as far as I know). So below is a link to my facebook page (also in my sig) to give you an idea of what the case is going to be like.
In late March I prototyped the HTC ONE from pictures for this first run and have a company that laser cuts these for me. And I have 5 variations of "backs" and 2 "fronts" that I will have tomorrow. It takes a couple weeks to get parts from my vendor, so I have to be quick with my designs!
Since having my ONE, I have made some adjustments to the design, and will be double checking everything tomorrow with the first set of prototype parts. I will be sending off "version 2" later this week for a small production run in order to have product ready and available as quickly as possible for an upcoming trade show.
What I am looking for in testers, is mainly someone who can and will do some of the following.
Testing signals - Network/Wifi/Bluetooth/GPS/NFC etc.
An example, GPS - Let your significant other drive, while you have your ONE in the case and another similar android phone (no case) set to the same destination. During this trip, take notes of both phones if/when they lose GPS lock, how long it takes to reestablish GPS lock. Any differences between the two devices should be noted.
Also, as a control, run the same route, with both phones without a case taking the same notes to compare. With case/without case.
My main concern it signals. I do not want the case to degrade the ability of the phone in any way!
In my current production case for the HTC EVO 4G LTE (Full Back), the only issue is NFC, which is non-functional because of the aluminum back. For this reason I created an "open back" version to have a fully functional device. I prefer to have just one version for the ONE.
I will of course be running a multitude of tests myself, but am looking to compare my experience with a few other users to ensure a perfect product!
Also, I know some of you will be able to provide ideas/feedback that I might not think of. I do not plan to change much in my physical designs, but might do so according the feedback I receive.
Again, thanks for all of the PM's and I will be getting back to everyone within the next day... in the meantime, check the facebook page to see a few of the EVO LTE cases!
