Hands-free mode - Sounds - Desire General

Hey!
How can i suppress the ringing on my htc desire while it is connected via bluethooth to my car? I tried everything in the system and locale. No sounds are enabled anymore but when i get a call the phone rings when it is connected to the car.
Thx!

no one any ideas? no one the same problem?

Not really sure but why not try a profiling app from the market so that you can set what type of sounds profile you require when in car mode?

Routing calls through PC

Anyone have any idea if it's possible to route calls from my Desire through my PC in the same way that I can with the hands free in my car ?
I find that holding my phone to my face causes a pain in my shoulder which then causes me to resent the person who I am talking to and try to hang up as soon as I can.
Don't really care if it connects via bluetooth, wifi or usb as long as it works, and I'd rather not have to pay by the minute as would be possible with Skype
I have found two options -
Bluesolei which has a demo but doesn't seem to work and looks a bit flaky
HFP for Linux which looks good - most of my machines run Linux but unfortunately not the one with bluetooth and the mic / speakers
Any ideas ?
Wouldn't it be easier to get a bluetooth headset? Problably the simplest & easiest solution...
If you need to route it through your pc then again Bluetooth is the way as long as the software / stack supports the headset profile. I know bluesoeil does
Are you trying to record the calls ?

Connect the headphone Jack to the line in/out on your soundcard. Would cost you next to nothing.
I have my phone paired to laptop and Whenever I turn on my bluetooth my laptop automatically becomes a speaker but I have never tried a call to see if it also works as a microphone.

Would that clash with the speakers that are already plugged in ? I suppose I could get a usb sound card ....

[Q] How to (can I) set default audio device for phone calls?

I built myself a Desire HD / Inspire 4G dock for my car, with USB (for power) and and 3.5mm jack (for audio through car stereo). My phone is also connected to my car via Bluetooth for phone calls.
When I initiate a call through the car, no problem.
When I receive and answer a call through the car's interface, no problem.
When I make a call through the phone interface however, it defaults to using the "headset" (even though it's just a standard audio cable...no mic), and I have to manually switch it to bluetooth every time. This is annoying for me, and especially for those I call when I forget to do this.
Is there any way to force the phone to default to bluetooth for calls?
As an added oddity, when I place calls through the phone, my car goes into phone mode (it turns off the radio and displays the "dialing" screen) even though the audio is going through the headphone jack.

You can choose the default headset device from the car panel.
Thanks for the reply...but two questions
1) I can't seem to find where that setting is on the Car Panel...where did you find it?
2) Does the phone respect that setting outside the Car Panel app?

[Q]How to stop Stereo BT autoconnecting to media

So ive been messing with my desire z for a while now and i cant figure out what to do with my stereo bluetooth headset's odd behavior. I have the Jabra BT 8010. When i was using winmo, it would only connect to the media function when i tell it to, but on android it seems that after it connects to my headset, the 2 batch of sound gets routed to my headset rather than the phone's speakers.
I have gone to the wireless settings and manually set it to not connect to the media function but again after a 2 batch of sound (alert, ring tone, etc) happens, it automatically connects the media service to my headset again.
I also found a function that said to only connect the bluetooth when making calls and that also did not deter my phone from connecting my headset to media services anyways.
Does anyone have any insight to this? Thanks!

Go to setting>wireless>bluetooth>press and hold the bluetooth device name>option>uncheck media under profile

I have to press bt option in call settings for it to work but, when I take it out of car cradle it connects call via car stereo as it should... Any idea?
Yea I forgot to mention I'm running miui Rom ... I literally tried everything different dialer, tasker, dock mode soft of all kinds and no luck there are no settings anywhere to prevent speaker phone while in Bluetooth mode.
Your help will be greatly appreciated
Also before I forgot.... Hehe ..... How do I delete stock dialer from miui without damading anything?
Thanx heaps

[Q] blueooth in car phone connection switches off HTC speakers

When I sync my HTC One M9 with my in car bluetooth phone system then I can no longer hear the sound/voice directions from the GPS navigation app on my phone (I have both Copilot and Sygic). Just turning on the bluetooth has no effect, its only when actually connected to the in-car phone connections that sound is cut. However, if someone makes a call to the phone then I can hear them over the car system. Any one else have a similar problem or an answer?

Hiya
On mine I have to go onto media on the in car audio system, to enable the bluetooth audio and the satnav comes out of the speaker once i've done that.

Depends on your car. For me I have the ability to choose phone and/or audio to be connected via Bluetooth in my car. If you choose audio then everything would be played through your car. Some cars have to be in Phone Audio mode for you to hear it over speakers.

Thanks Jonathan-H and anandlal. Sounds like it is a car bluetooth issue rather than a phone one. Thanks for the advice, I'll have to dig into the car settings further.
