It's always a pain putting those on though. You can never quite get it to look as perfect as the pictures show, unless you get one of those Indian guys from the mall to put it on.

putting a $20 skin on plastic back that will be a $10 item seems silly. I bet we see $10 back covers all over the place soon.

I haven't received my phone yet, but I am thinking about putting a BestSkinsEver skin on the back. I realize the back will probably be sold on eBay for $10 at some point, but I hear the phone can get a little slippery and the skins add just the right amount of rubbery tackiness to keep the phone from slipping out of my hand.

Having a lot of experience in this subject (see link in signature), I can go ahead and tell you that if you don't have a lot of experience, you won't get that skin to wrap around the corners and edges properly and make it look the way you want it to. Good luck, but it seems like throwing away money because you sure won't be satisfied with the results!

Its easy to get on. Cut the backing down the middle, then tape the other end to the phone. Then remove the half of the skin backing, then the other. And any wrinkles just heat with a blowdryer and its perfect.

is it actually a carbon fibre cover or just plastic?

Carbon Fiber Backplate

Was wondering if anyone know where I can possibly find a Carbon Fiber back battery door plate, I am not looking for a Carbon Fiber case(Last choice if I can't find a Carbon Fiber back plate).
I tried searching but found no luck.
I am not looking a vinyl wrap either but an actual or close to actual carbon fiber back door for the EVO.
Thanks In Advance!
Have you seen the 3M di-noc carbon fiber vinyl. It's made of some woven material, not that carbon fiber print. I have one and I love it.

Do you apply it yourself or does it come ready?
One of the members on here sells them in many different colors. They were like $5 with free shipping. I can't remember his name or even the link though. But they look very nice. I have a lot of people ask me about it.

A "real" carbon fiber backplate would kill your signal... just so you know not to try it.
I would go with the vinyl or one of the suggested cases

Cheap eBay bnumper cases, I got one, quick review with pics

The cheap eBay Bumper case I posted about on another board arrived today and it looks quite good until you pick it up and notice how thin and light it is which kind of goes hand in hand with it's massively small £3 price. It does the job fine on a S2 with the stock battery though but with extended battery the lip surrounding the front bezel is less pronounced.
It is not great with the Zenis dock either as it doesn't sit flush whereas the Zenis one does. I was expecting it to fit fine but the bottom is not sitting nicely like the Walnutt bumper does.
So far I think the Walnutt case looks the best and also feels like it's worth some ££ too. I especially like the lip bearing the Walnutt brand name on the back, it kind of completes an otherwise baron backside, something that the SGP NeoHybrid EX bumper lacks although I'm sure the SGP feels every bit as good and expensive as the Walnutt ones.
Considering the Walnutt bumper is thicker than the cheap eBay one I was surprised it was exactly the same thickness when put on the phone, I put it on my dad's S2 with stock battery to compare in the pics below.

Wow 10 pounds for shipping to Spain! What a RIP OFF. I'll write the seller and see what he says. I doubt though that he'll change the price. I've had books and computer parts delivered for less!

(yet another)Carbon Fiber Battery Cover

Seeing there are several threads about people laying down black carbon fiber look vinyl on their phones, here's one done in silver. I got ripped off on eBay when I thought the listing was for genuine 3M Di-Noc, but the results turned out decent enough to share. Major problem with the cheap vinyl is that it stretches out way too easily and it melts at a lower temperature than the quality film.

Looks pretty sweet! Is that stuff adhesive, or do you have to use some sort of glue?
Yes, it is adhesive backed. Like I said I got the off brand stuff, the 3M branded Di-Noc works much better. There are numerous clips on youtube about the stuff and how to use it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mL0nOpvkTb4 <=== link to video showing install on a BMW steering wheel.
Does it come in black? White is too girly for me.

I've got black 3M textured Carbon, but I think the stuff would be way too thick to work on the backing. I'll try it though, have a ton left from my computer.
The 3M branded film works great on the back. You just have to trim it right at the edges of the cover instead of folding over the underside a bit. That pic turned out looking white? It is silver. They have 500! other colors. I dont know about the other 500 varieties but the carbon fiber look films are actually textured and have a good grip to them.
I went ahead and put the fiber on my backplate.... It looks awesome, but the lip is killing me....
Edit: The fiber was pretty thick, so an idea struck me. I stuck it on the back directly, instead of on the cover. Fits great, feels great. Might add another layer to get rid of some of the 'give' between components.
Ridges are a whole heck of a lot more visible in photos, but aren't they always?
Phone is an extra mm thinner, and a bit lighter too. In addition, the battery no longer falls out in those big drops

Actually one of the better looking TPU cases IMO...
How's the fit seem overall? From the pics it looks great.
I may just pick one up..
Doesn't look very "ultra-thin".
Just a warning, if this is one of those cases with a diamond sort of "embossed" pattern on the inside, you have to be careful to clean dust from the inside, or it'll end up scratching the back of your phone.

Like most TPU and other cases, even the high end expensive ones, dust, lint, sand, soot will get in and eventually may cause scratching. I would assume most people take the time to clean and maintain their devices' appearance and or avoid being sandy, sooty, linty and dusty
Besides, the back will get scratches without anything protecting it as well.. I am waiting for delivery of the backs to my full body protection from XtremeGUARD. (ebay has them for $4 delivered http://www.ebay.com/itm/XtremeGuard...ccessories&hash=item35bcdc39ee#ht_3731wt_1270)

I found these much cheaper, at less than $2 delivered, but can not say if those will be the same as this one.
Here is the ebay link to the other ones, he has some other interesting cases as well, IMHO super cheap. http://stores.ebay.com/E-ChainStore/_i.html?_nkw=s3&submit=Search&_sid=1033895339
As you can see in the pictures above, it is very snug tight form fitting all the cut outs match perfectly and it actually covers the volume rocker and power button. At $4 delivered it is as good if not better than the Diztronic of similar design costing $10+ pictured below.

This is true, but in comparison with other TPU cases, this one as you can see is fairly thin and still offers good bump drop protection.

yes i had scraped my back and it looked bad as i have the white version.. soo this decals look soo cool at such minimal cost
i have the carbon fiber sticker but it just messed up coz i dont know where to do the cutouts.. its a really good idea to cover the sandstone back to prevent it from being fcked up ...
just stick it up first and then do the cut out
how are those metal bumpers pls share ur review n pictures of it.
i find them very useful

Does the bumper increase the weight of the phone a lot? I do not use any kind of case/cover cause it adds a lot of bulk to an already heavy phone straining my pinky finger on which it's balanced for most of my use. But the bumper seems useful.
Ok it's been over 6 months since your post, what's your setup now?
