Desire wont save or connect to any wifi any more - Desire General

Ive got a genuine 3 UK (unbranded) desire and been using it for over a year.
Recently they released a small software update (2.29.405.5). I couldn't install this as not enough space so i thought id do a factory reset to get space, clean up and go from scratch.
Not a problem except after that reset my WiFi has stopped working completely.
It turns on, it shows as on, it scans and it shows WLANs around. However no matter what lan you select the second you enter a key without even trying to connect it says "Unable to connect to the network".
If i try to manually add a network i get "Unable to save the network".
It doesnt even seem to attempt to connect, just errors immediately. It's not a key issue as entering any key either correct or incorrect immediately produces the above error.
After a factory reset failed to get it working i rooted the phone to delete/edit the wpa_supplicant.conf file. This didn't solve the problem.
As a last resort i downloaded the latest RUU, flashed but again this hasn't fixed the problem.
So, does anyone know whats broken or how i can fix this or is it a return on the phone?
Everything else would appear to work perfectly but it just refuses to save any details of wlans or connect to them. It all worked fine before a factory reset!

Settings could not be opened

Hello
I let my wife use my phone last night and now (may just be coincidence) whenever i try to access just about anything under settings I get an error saying setting could not be opened.
Any ideas?
Thanks
edit
I am running the tmobile wm6 upgrade
I have gotten this a few times, you will have to reset your Dash and then resync it with activesync.
reset
how do i reset the dash
Go under start, and in the applications folder there is something that says clear storage, click on that
just so you know that will completely wipe out anything you have on your phone. i would try everything else first.
The only other thing to try is to turn off and turn the phone back off. I called TMO support on this, that is what they had me do.

QuickGPS & Location setting error.

Randomly when I update QuickGPS I get an error:
"Data Activation Failed:
Location setting must be on so that the latest satellite data can be used to speed up GPS positioning"
I'm on a T-Mobile USA Touch Pro 2.
If I restart my device, I can update QuickGPS without error. But once I get this error, I always do until I restart my device. Its like the "location setting" just dissapeared. Anyone have a similar issue or know of a fix?
I'm having same problem.
I've try to update the QuickGPS and it tells me I need to set location to on but I can not find it anywhere. It suppose to be at Start, Settings, Phone, Services then I should be able to see locations but I don't see it.
It's missing and I hate to call customer's services and run into someone who reads out of manuals.
Any takers?
TIA.
Anyone have any ideas?
same prob
I see that my location is set to on, but wont update regardless of soft reset. just updated to europe wwe 6.5 from htc site. didnt have prob with 6.1 stock from tmo usa
I have the same problem with the stock rom from sprint. it will say i need to turn on location setting, but when i look, it's already on. also, if i try to turn off location setting, it stays on. when i look again, after selecting off, ok, etc., the location setting says on again. soft reset is the only thing that fixes it.
after soft reset, i quickgps, then run garmin and it works fine. after i turn off garmin and don't use it for awhile, then i can't get a fix and i get the location setting error when trying to run quickgps.
any ideas?
I'm using HTC Topaz with official WM6.5. I've found that this problem happens after installing WM6VoIP.cab (it's necessary for enabling SIP). Btw not only QuickGPS fails with update, GPS completely stops working.
Removing of "Sleuth's WM6VoIP" through "Add\remove programs:" doesn't work - only Hard reset helps.

infinite pop-ups on phone reboot

Hi there
It all started once I accepted Android 6 load from T-Mobile.
After the update, I started to get an error message when I was trying to open settings.
I did hard reset to get back to factory settings, but guess what? Now I am getting this pop-up when phone boots, so I am not able to use the phone at all anymore.
USB mode is not set after reset, so I can NOT connect phone to pc to try to manage it....
Anything I can do in that situation?
Thanks!
I cannot attach a picture, so if you want to check it, see the post on another forum I did yesterday....
go to androidforumsDOTcom and search for "infinite pop-ups on phone reboot" on it....

Wi-Fi won't connect -Wi-Fi Connection Failure

I'm having a huge issue. My Wi-Fi won't work on my 2013 Nexus. I select it. It sees it with a full signal and I put in the password, It just says saved. I tried with a connection without a password, it says the same thing. I tried flashing back to factory multiple times but it does nothing. It was working and just all of a sudden went out on me. Is there a way to flash a driver or something?

Click to collapse
Firstly, just reboot the WiFi access point and try to connect to it again.
Did you change firmware or any settings on the WiFi access point? Do other devices connect to it properly?
Can your Nexus connect to other WiFi access points? Try it with your mobile's WiFi hot spot.
Finally, we need some logs:
turn off N7 wifi
start logcat (I prefer 'time' format: adb logcat -v time > log.txt )
turn on N7 wifi
try to connect
stop logcat
compress and post the log here
