RoyalGlacier is based on Stock MySense 2.2.1 with lots of enhancements. Even though it has a mostly stock look, it runs extremely fast and smooth and gives great battery life.
I would like to take a sec and thank a few people that have been a big help with my quest to bring you guys a great performing MySense Rom. First a giant thanks to tiger13 for all the help he has givin me, all the work he has put in to help make this a great Rom to run and also his great theme. I would also like to say thank you to Stericson (and JF) for taking the time to help out tiger and myself on the power menu mod. It really meant alot that they would take the time to help when I couldnt get anyone else to. They truely are Legends of Android and I really appreciate it!!! I also want to say thanks to Option94 for his help on things and for being such a great help here in the forum to everyone. Thanks to the members/testers of Team Royal that have helped me also (you know who you are). There will be eventually yes.
and there are plenty of sense roms. This is espresso sense. A very optimized version of the stock rom.

not to step on TeamRoyal, but there are several other Sense ROMs out there for our phone... eVil D's Desire-HD and Desire-Z ports, Gr8Gorilla's Desire HD port and of course RoyalThunder (Thunderbolt port) all 4 of which are Sense.
as far as Gingerbread Sense I'm keeping every digit crossed in hopes of that being what RoyalMint Sense 2.3 is.

This bit’s the introduction. If you’re not interested in who we are, or how we got here, or are of the TL;DR mentality, then skip this entire section.
I HAVE INTERNET AT LAST! 5 weeks without it, and I'm officially back online, today! woop! Thank you for your patience. We wanted to make sure this ROM was right for you all prior to release! As many of you have noticed, I’m well and truly back in to the world of custom roms, after a few months break over the summer. Believe me, it was well and truly needed. It’s great to be back though.
If you’ve come from a HTC Hero/Desire or Magic, the chances are, you’ve heard of VillainROM. For that reason, I won’t go into who we are in too much detail. Sufficed to say, we’re a hardworking team of collaborative developers, working towards a common goal; to improve on manufacturer’s versions of the Android OS’ and to provide alternative, AOSP versions. We will no longer be providing 'experimental beta' releases, but instead, only releasing ROMs we deem to be 'final'.
So... to the ROM!
Before I do, though, I’d just like to take this opportunity to offer a huge message of gratitude to the team at #g2root. Scotty2 and the team worked their arses off for weeks on this, and together they achieved what HTC attempted to make impossible. We all owe them a huge debt of thanks.
This thread will house two ROMs; each of which will have its own thread on VillainROM.co.uk, but it's more manageable in the one here. Because of this, I'd appreciate it if you could post the name of the ROM you're using prior to reporting a problem/giving praise. These ROMs follow the successful release of Villision last week, which was a combined effort between HomerSP and myself. Homer is a legend, and he's worked with me again on this one. Once labelled 'The Hotfix King', he has been known to de-odex sleeping frogs and some pretty large haddock. I thank him, once again for his help and support.
VillainROMZ for the G2/Z is a stock Sense UI build, with a few VillainROM tweaks. The more obvious tweak is that the reboot and reboot to recovery options have been added, but I assure you, more changes have been made to the 'back end', so you should see an improvement on performance.
SuperVillainZ on the other hand, is one of VillainROM's specialities. It was, some time ago, one of the most popular ROMs on the Hero, and offers a combination of SenseUI and vanilla. It's entirely based on VillainROMZ, with HomerSP's power menu tweak and the tweaks of VillainROM, however, Rosie, and Sense UI widgets have been removed from the build. In addition, the age old problem of the ALARM CLOCK + LOCKSCREEN has been FIXED, by the very same, fish de-odexing legend, HomerSP. That means, you can use your HTC alarm, with your vanilla lockscreen... at last.
SuperVillainZ offers users what are, in our opinion the best bits of Sense UI (apps), with a Vanilla-like feel. The huge reduction in /system size and applications obviously makes it run that little bit better, too. This is the perfect ROM for those that can't decide... to sense, or not to sense.

It is for both. If the filename didn't contain the whole -release-signed.zip part, then re-download. If it doesn't match the MD5 checksum, please redownload.

Ah just spent an hour downloading it too haha. Guess I'll restart it.
Ok I installed it but for some reason it keeps saying there's no network found? Anyone else having this issue? This is after a full wipe & install btw... I had everything turned on as well but still no luck...
I guess its back on CM RC3 for now till someone tells me what the issue is.

Tried out both of the older ones .. WOW .. VillainROMz is SO much faster/smoother than any other Sense ROM I've tried. Too bad they both contain the usual sense UI problem when changing density. Will redownload the new ones though.

This is sense 2.1 but with all the apps of sense 3, so the base roms are different. Evil's is pure sense 3.0, while this is mixed. Sense 3 is on the dual core phones while sense 2.1 is for older phones.

Am always interested in the latest ROM's available for the MT4G. Thanks for the hard work & effort put into making this accessible to the masses.
I've been doing some more work on this and I think the beta will be ready tonight, fixed most of the bugs. I'm still hoping people will leave feedback on the alpha.
So I would theme all of the widgets to be the same. Also the kernel gives an error and breaks wifi. Pretty neat rom however. The widgets also need to be resized to be all the same ratio but not bad mate! Good job! Cheers mate!

So I would theme all of the widgets to be the same. Also the kernel gives an error and breaks wifi. Pretty neat rom however. The widgets also need to be resized to be all the same ratio but not bad mate! Good job! Cheers mate!

Thanks for feedback, i'll take a look at the wifi modules. And unity kernel is not needed but recommended since it has more features.
I flashed unity 3 kernel in the original thread and it is working great.

With the calendar and news widgets maybe you could bring them over from the 3d rom to match the rest of the theme. They are the only ones that do not really match. They are sized and themed wrong. Keep up the good work though The rom is fast.

Q: How come there are no addons or themes available in Synergy Updater?
A: You first must configure an Addon/Theme server. Do this by going to: menu | configuration | Addon/Theme Update Settings | Manage Addon/Theme Servers | Menu | Update Featured Addon/Theme Servers" Then check for Addons and themes and there should be a list presented.
Q: When I apply an update through Synergy Updater, occasionally recovery doesn't apply the update and I get a screen with an exclamation mark
A: Clockwork Recovery has been tested to not be as consistent as Amon_RA's Recovery. At this time I recommend and use Amon_Ra's recovery.
Q: I am getting a "Package file was not signed correctly" when I flash the update files?
A: Toggle signature verifications within recovery before flashing, Disabling signature verification.

If you look at the features of the rom you can clearly see its a hybrid as sense and cyanogen are completely different. But this should be interesting.

I just installed and so far the genius button doesn't do anything when pressed. Headset controls aren't working. Other than that very fast and stable. Thanks!

Newly compiled ROM. Had to downgrade back to Android 2.3.4 for the time being for stability. Sorry folks but lockscreen wallpaper and the screenshot function could not be included since CM7 will not allow it for the time being. YUP, I lucked out there, I did the same thing. Downloaded the ROM and looked around at a few threads and came back to see what was posted just to find out it was removed. Thanks for posting there was an issue with it right away other wise I would have flashed it too.
I'm sure whatever is wrong daddydc650 is doing his thing. Take your time bro! Can't wait for this awesomeness of a ROM.

BTW, I've tried every version of WiFi calling for the Glacier and I keep getting a "low signal" msg when trying to activate it. It only enables if I'm REALLY close to my router which sucks! Weird stuff..... Anyways, the version of WiFi calling in v0.1 is from the MyTouch 4G Slide (didn't bother replacing it until I get a fix) so go ahead and throw in a version from the Glacier otherwise you will get the low signal msg as well as a FC.
