I flashed the 4.2 camera and I am not really impressed that much I just want to go with the stock but I cant find it in titanium or in the applications list anywhere. So does anyone know where in the file system it would be located so I can just use root explorer.
Also I want to remove carrier IQ so can anyone tell me how to do that? And I would rather not install a custom rom. I am trying to make my own modds and learn how to do that so that I am not so dependent on others. I do have decent computer skills and I can pick things up good so If anyone wants to help I would apriciate it.

To remove the 4.2 camera, open door explorer and scroll down until you see the system folder. Open the system folder, then go into the app folder towards the top. Look for the Gallery apk. It my also be called gallery2.apk or googlegallery.apk or something like that. That is what you have to delete to get rid of the 4.2 camera. If you flashed a mod to get it there are probably some associated lib files too. Best way to see everything you can delete related to the mod would be to look in the zip for the mod and navigate to those folders and delete the files.
As far as carrier IQ I wouldn't know.
Okay I didn5 know I had to just delete 5he gallery. The only problem I have is the I have two gallery apps I will have to see in roo I exllorer what they are named at least I k ow where t other look thank you
To delete carrier IQ navigate to /system/app/ and delete anything that has "IQ" in the name.

With the APKs I named gone, you are in the clear friend.
I have seen some phones hate it when carrier iq is deleted
Freezing with titanium backup or simmilar app is another, and possibly more stable option

Thamk you guys so much for your answers. I got rid of the carrier IQ with no problem. But As far as the 4.2 camera I have 2 gallery .apks
the first one is com.sec.android.gallery3d the icon is yellow flower light blue background pic it has the spiral feature so I think it is the one that came with the phone but I am not too sure.
And the other is com.google.android.gallery3d the icon is red, pink, yellow it does not have the spiral feature it looks more AOSP like to me so I think it is the 4.2 one.
I also unzipped the 4.2 camera file that I flashed to install it. And It has 2 .apks in the system>app folder they are GalleryGoogle.apk and GmsCore.apk. There was also a libary folder I dont know if that is important. So does it sound like I am on the right track. Just delete the second one?
Edit I was just looking futher throught the \system\app folder and I actually had 2 different files for the gallery apps thats odd. One is just gallery.apk and the other is secgallery2_galaxy.apk. I deleted the first one. I also see that the samsung camera has its own .apk Those other files that I put above I got from when I went to mms a pic and it asked which gallery to use I guess you would call it the app choser and that was under each app And My phone just rebooted and I did delete the correcte one. So thanks for all your help guys. Now I know how to remove carrier IQ.

GalleryGoogle.apk and GmsCore.apk are the 4.2 .apks so delete those ones. The libs you wanna delete are in system/lib/ and are as follows: libjni_filrershow_filters.so, libjni_mosiac.so, and liblightcycle.so
Hope that helps ! Next time be sure to make a backup as some flashable zips change values on files you cannot delete.
Hello there everyone,
My girlfriend's run into a very interesting problem. She has an Experia Arc S and uses the stock gallery widget to scroll through her images on her phone. Now, she's not one to delete pictures, but she's recently deleted one of a person she had a bad falling out with. However, here's where it gets interesting.
The image is gone from the gallery. However, there's still a tumbnail on the widget.
From this, I conclude that the widget generates its own thumbnails somewhere and stores them and they don't get deleted (or, if they do, they sometimes don't). My question, thus, is pretty obvious:
How do I get rid of that thumbnail in her widget scroll-through-gallery?

I'm sorry, I didn't find that forum. The general layout of XDA confuses me somewhat, to be honest. I apologize. But thank you very much for your reply. I greatly appreciate all the help I can get.
Either way, I've looked into the .thumbnails folder and it's not there either. So I gather that this widget somewhere has its own folder and does its own thumbnails... which, if its on the phone memory, might explain why her phone's always low on memory.
have you tried re-adding the widget?
delete the current one on home screen, and then add it back.
Failing above reply, delete thumbs.db in dcim/andro100 folder or go to settings and wipe data of gallery app.

Here is my problem, I feel like I've searched high and low for a solution to this one but I can't seem to find it. I saw another thread similar to this but when I went to the download site the account was no longer available to download from. I currently am on the MikG v3.11 [3/9/2012] ( ihititipi://d-h.st/xH4 ) (Since I'm new I can't post a link but I think it makes sense not to keep the i's) - This is my second time I rooted this phone and the first time didn't go so well everything would stop working about once a week or so. Anyways back to my problem I am looking for an .apk file or something of the sort so I can have my contacts back.
Here is how it all happend, I was debloating some of sprint and HTC garbage from the phone and by accident I hit the "people" debloater and deleted the widget. so now if I try to save a new contact the program crashes and I can't save any new people. I can only do it through google on my computer.
Any help at all is appreciated, and again like I said I searched high and low but if you can find a forum that is useful please send me the link.

Just reflash your rom, or copy the widget from inside /system/app of the rom zip to /system/app of your OS right now
Hi, i've got a little problem.
I mistakenly deleted an App from another account. This app is no longer available in the Appstore. But i've got it installed on my secondary account. How can i port it back? I know it's still installed, but not accessible for the second account. Any ideas?
That... is probably not easy. Anybody have a better suggestion that re-packaging the .APPX file and sideloading it? That's not a good solution, really, but I can't think of a better one offhand.

I really don't want to sideload it. I thought someone would know what registry keys i would need to do it. I looked around and found a lot in the local user registry. I thought maybe just copy them over to get access to it, or something like that.
You could certainly try that. I'm afraid I don't really know how the modern app launching works, or I'd suggest just trying to create a launcher link right to the app. You can't start them the same way as desktop apps though, even when they have EXE files.

You could try coping the folders over. C:\Program Files\WindowsApps is where they are located. The folder is hidden and you have to take ownership to open.
Copy it over from what? It's another profile on the same computer. All profiles run apps from the same location...
Ended up getting blocked out of my Action Memos by Samsung on my Note 4. I have all the notes, just can't get them to show up on my Note 4. Here's where the help part begins.
1. Need someone who uses AM and doesn't export to S Note or through Evernote to look and tell me where the Action Memos normally live on the Note 4 - where on the internal SD. You can even just do a test note, then open the memo app, not S Note. Then confirm location on internal SD. Need the path/name.
2. If this can't be resolved any other way, my thinking is that if I do a factory reset I'd have to setup my Sammy account again and the Memos will show that way. Thoughts? It's buggered because of an Evernote prompt.
Any ideas or help always appreciated. Still working on it here. If I find a fix other than FR I'll post it.

I didnt choose export to Snote when saving and when i set up the account, i didnt choose evernote, i chose samsung, not evernote(the only two options) and it still saves them to MainStorage/SNoteData/ActionMemo
And to get them to show up i still had to long press the home screen for widgets, scroll down to SNote and choose the second one with the previous saved notes. Id just move the notes from their location to Internal/SNoteData/ActionMemo and theyll be accessible via the SNote widget.

You might have to go that route to manually put them in the ActionMemo folder and use the MyFiles default explorer, open up documents and the memos will open on your home screen. Hope that helps.

When you look at the files in MyFiles, are the extensions .spd?

Always have and always will use Holo Launcher. It works the best for me and my preferred 387 dpi settings with 0.5 animation scale.
It allows all permissions when using any widget and works well with shortcuts too(which i never use)
If you saw a 0/100 at the end of the download progress on the far right, that was just samsung app updating, not the android system. lol
Ive never used action memo, and when i clicked save(didnt click export to Snote at the bottom right), it still saves them to InternalStorage/SnoteData/ActionMemo(Done with a 3rd party File Explorer, which you need if you dont already have one). Youll see the files there but you cant open them within the FileExplorer you donwloaded to see path locations and later use root priveleges when you decide to root.
After moving your old notes to InternalStorage/SnoteData/ActionMemo... Then go to the default File Explorer(MyFiles) Go to Documents, and youll see all your notes/memos and be able to open them up and have them appear on the home screen as if you just got done making them and were about to save them for the first time.

Because of what Sammy did to me with the Evernote thing, when I go to File Explorer(MyFiles), Go to Documents, I see everything spd, but it's only the files I manually sent to SNote from Action Memo. I have over 130 memos and no way I want to manually export those puppies. But the extension is spd. That was a big help. Thanks.
I wonder if it's possible to take a backup of the files - already done - and then change the jpg to spd (via a batch file or something like that)? Then they would all show properly. They're in the right place, but Sammy locked me out of them in favor of Evernote. I don't use Evernote because they're not editable.

So using the info you gave me about MyFiles on Note 4, I did a search for spd and found all of the files, not jpgs but qspd, on my Note 3. I'm going to try exporting those tomorrow and see if I can lick this situation short term.

de nada, mi amigo. If that doesnt work, you can always try putting your SPen in Backwards and see if that gives you backwards compatibility to the note 3 files. LMAO.

Holy #%$& it worked! I did a batch rename on my laptop from cmd promt. Uploaded the files to my N4 and they still didn't show (could be too impatient). Renamed file title to format of early test notes only on N4 and refreshed. It showed up in Action memo! I'm going to give it a wait to see if the rest show up, or in fact have to be renamed to "Action memo" instead of "_QuickMemo".

You do need to change name from "Action memo" instead of "_QuickMemo", that along with the extension rename from "qspd" to "spd" are key. They will load without the first change, but still won't show. And don't forget to include the jpg for each file when you put them in Primary/SnoteData/Action memo.
This will make it possible to copy my notes from my Note 10.1 now. :good:
