Looks nice, but what's the difference between this and the other one they sell? This has 3 layers and the other has 5? Just how much bulk does this one add to the Evo?

Looks awesome...idk hiw well it will do with amazon and ebay sellin the HC for 29.99. I alot of females who love the ballistic but dont like the colors. They all got the kracken bc its availible in pink. If ballistic released something in like a pink or purple i know my girl and all her co-workers would get one asap

awesome! as the owner of tpu-cases. com, I love seeing companies release new cases with TPU. Hopefully more of the big dogs follow suit, its a great material.

I would never choose this over the HC version. That is only my opinion, though.

The HC is way too big and feels unfinished when you take off the outside layer. for those of us who don't want to carry around a brick its a good alternative.

Any coupon codes that could be used with this? Seriously considering getting it. Will look sweet with my white Evo.

very nice looking case

Hopefully they fixed that kickstand issue. From what I heard the old one really sucked.

Ballistic never had any problems with the kickstand. It was Otterbox that had the kickstands that would break for no apparent reason.

Yea it would pop off, and you could put it back on (it wasn't designed to come off). I would personally like my kickstand to stay in its... I guess it would be a socket of some type?
But yea, you get it.

I bought this case mostly because I don't have a desk job so I don't have a nice, safe place to put my new Evo. I had a BodyGlove for the Hero and that did the trick but the Evo is much larger and more expensive . Yea, it made it a beast but it's cheaper than 500 bux. It did come with a holster that keeps the screen to your inside, it comes with a screen protector and the front cover has one as well. There's also covers for the camera and LEDS built into the back. The kickstand though, that's a pos. With a little cutting I'm sure the stock kickstand would poke through just fine but it appears it may lean the phone back too much. 27.95 with free shipping:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170618159527
Just realized this says "SC" case and I have the "HC" case. Ehh, whatever though. It's basically the same case just the HC one is definitely for those that have accidents with their devices. Not only that I paid less for the HC then they advertise the SC one for so that's another plus. Personally, I like it but if you don't have large hands you may find this a little cumbersome to deal with everyday.

After about 3 weeks with my Ballistic HC I could not be happier. This is by far the best case on the market for strength, looks, and durability. I have not had a single issue with my kickstand. I had read all the comments so I grabbed my kickstand and vigorously pulled and shook it. It did not budge one bit. Either it was redesigned or some of you are absolute cavemen lol. I'm assuming Ballisitic took care of the issue with a redesign

Any word on Otterbox cases?

Last I heard there is a couple in the works but this pos gel one from tmobile sucks and I'm afraid of damaging my mt4g. (im in construction)
Has anyone got any release dates or new info about when they might be releasing some?
Thanks I'm advance!

Dunno about otterbox, but I know I have heard seidio has been putting up some solid cases..
Saw that that seido case but it looks pretty basic. Don't know if u have ever had an otterbox case or not but they look like they are damn near bulletproof. That seido case looks like is just a snap on cover for the back. Couldn't see any front views though

They also make the phone so much bigger it looks like you have a brick in your pocket.... lol ... nerd city
That defender case with the holster looks bad ass!
I have one on my ipod touch and yes its slightly bigger but not top bad. These phones are already big in the pocket and if a case makes them too big then you my friend need to stop wearing the skinny jeans lol

lmao! i want an impact series. not as thick as the defender but not real thin like the commuter but last i checked there only rolling out 2 casses for the time being and on alot of the phones with only 2 cases they are the defender and commuter so im worried i might have to go commuter and just be careful... my buddy has the defender on his 3gs and no doubt it is amazing (dropped it about 16ft without a scratch) and there not toooo huge but after less than a year the outter rubber has gotten fadded and stretched/loose and slides around on the outside and the built in screen protector is so scratched and hazed its impossible to see through it clearly so he might cut it out... i dont want to deal with that and being just as rough on my phone as him ill be in the same boat for sure.

Otterbox Cases

Otterbox Cases are up with prices but you can't order yet
Impact: http://bit.ly/hUCrM0 Not available anymore.
Commuter: http://bit.ly/dOaA0b
I think i'm getting a commuter. What do you guys think?
FINALLY!
Deff getting a commuter
I love to see some new cases. What are the differences between these two cases? Why such a big price difference?
impact is rubber ONLY no hard shell plastic OVER rubber shell...
commuter has BOTH rubber and hard shell...
Will the commuter peel away at my screen protector like the gel case since it comes up to the edges like that?
It shoulfny

I hope the commuter does not make the phone HUGE. I do love the look of it, but my car mount is almost flushed with the eBay two piece cover. It looks small in the pics. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
I don't mind getting either or depending on how they go on the phone. If it a front peace and a back peace that click together no thanks... But if it slides on then thumbs up

the impact is a one piece soft case, thicker for better protection... and the commuter is a two piece soft and hard, its like the tmobile ones they have in the stores but better, wish they had cut outs for the pins though...
I used to own Nexus with case-mate, and although nice the rubber started stretching. I ordered rubber case off ebay with screen, and it's the best one I've had - $ 8.95 with shipping.
I am thinking of getting the Commuter case.

Is there an Otterbox for this version?

My girlfriend has this phone, obviously being the TMo SGSII.
She saw I'm looking to get a otterbox defender for my Rezound I'm getting, she wants to know if there's one for her phone, I looked on Amazon and they exist for the international version and the AT&T version, would one of these work or is there one specific for this version? Thanks.

It works decent.
Seidio active case is another great option.
Unless you really, really need to have an Otterbox, don't buy the Infuse Otterbox for use with this phone. You'd be supporting a company that explicitly considers our phone to be unworthy of a case. Instead, I would encourage you to support one of the other companies who make cases specifically for our phones.

I really like my Trident. It definitely increases the size of the device, but it feels safe, I've dropped it a few times from decent heights without any noticeable scratches or wear, and just fits in the hand right. Definitely worth the price.

If she'll settle for something like an otterbox, I would suggest getting her one of these- http://www.ebay.com/itm/150738046136?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 I just got one & it's just as solid as any otterbox I've ever seen. Much cheaper too, and it comes in a bunch of color combos.
And I agree about not supporting otterbox too. Why give money to a company that thinks our phones aren't important enough to make cases for(even though they're one of T-Mo's best selling phones)? Jerks. I had an OB for my HD2 & to be honest, it wasn't worth the money. The silicone got all stretched out within a month & the screen protector stuck to my screen & caused oil-slick distortions.
So does anyone make a case with a built in screen protector for our phone?
I have read as many threads as I can find...plus I have done a lot of Googling...and I cannot find a case with a built-in screen protector for our phone. I know some people don't like them, but I am a huge fan of the Otterbox Defender and that is what I am looking for on my phone. I don't feel like I can ever get the individual screen protectors on correctly, and even a teeny tiny piece of lint or bubble makes me crazy...and then the sides start coming up. All of my friends and family have 4 or 4s with Defenders (plus my son has an iTouch4 with a Defender), and the touch sensitivity is great. Does any brand make a case with a built in screen protector for the T-Mobile GS2??
Thank you!
p.s. The guy who has modified the Infuse Defender case is brilliant, great innovation! But I am not up for this. I want one made specifically for this phone w/a built-in screen protector.

Otterbox Commuter REVIEW

so as you guys know , I made the review for the defender and now its time for the commuter!
Very sleek, sexy and portable case. Minimum bulk while delivering great protection. A little slippery on the back but i can handle that
For me..ill take this case over the defender any day of the week.
Enjoy!
http://youtu.be/cm1qbkTA-2A
I got mine a few days ago and it's great. It doesn't make the phone to bulky at all and looks and feels great.
I convinced my brother to buy one after I dropped (test) it shoulder-high on the ceramic floor, twice. Still shiny new. The past reviews that I read were pushing me away from the commuter but I can honestly say it delivers protection and it's not that bulky. It doesn't pick up that much dust, and my phone is always in and out of my pocket. also, when you get the hang of it, you can put the case and remove it in 2 seconds. I don't know why people were hating on it. I don't use the extended batteries, gsm.
Has anyone crammed a VZW Gnex with the extended battery into the Commuter? Right now I'm just using a cheapo gel skin, but I'm in and out of the case a lot and it's starting to stretch.
Those cases make me cringe. Such beautiful phones being destroyed by cases.

Honestly Im a HUGE fan of rocking my phone naked..however I cant afford a new phone every time I drop it (and with my dropping skills it happens pretty often). Thats why i stick with the thinnest cases possible that still give good protection (sgp, diztronic, commuter, etc)

Yea I have it and it fits fine. You may want to take the battery cover off. That's what I do
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
Same here. If you choose not to cover your phone, that is your given right. However, when you have an unlocked device you're running a big enough risk as it is.
Also the VZW users may want to check this guy's mod out.
http://youtu.be/q-Z1tiotZFg
i had the commuter for my captivate and decided to try one for my gnex but returned it. it is one of the best fitting dual layer case that ive tried but i dont like how the outer hard shell is so slippery and the lines down it make it look cheap. the case was just as slippery as the naked gnex.
i bought the incipio silicrylic instead, it doesnt fit at tight as the commuter but is a bit thinner since the lip is not as high. the silicrylic feels so much better to hold with its rubber coating on the hard shell and exposed silicon on the sides and top. another downside is the incipio attracts more dirt than the commuter but its not as bad as some people say.
I had this case...pushing the buttons thru the case was a pain so I returned it! And pulling the battery is a true *****! In terms of protection, its great though! No doubt! I don't use a case anymore but I highly recommend if you're in the US to just go to ur local Verizon store and grab an incipio, fits better and pushing the buttons are easy! Plus they give u a stand too! Although I returned that also cuz this phone is too sexy and sleek to cover up, in my opinion of course!

Commuter with no battery back fits well. Best IMO.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
I bought my GNex slightly used (1 month old), the previous owner had the Commuter one the GNex from day one, which was cool because I knew I was buying a used device that was most likely to be in mint condition... and it was. It has GREAT protection and IMO the corners having the interlining exposed was a great design because if/when you drop the phone, it's most likely to land on a corner first.
THAT said however... I'm currently NOT using it and decided to go with something slimmer ONLY because I've developed a habit of typing ONLY with Swype with ONE hand, it started when I had the Nexus ONE... and I got pretty good at it... The problem is... the GNex being bigger, Swyping with one hand is now more of an effort because I don't have big hands. WITH the Commuter case, it was simply more work... I'm keeping the Commuter for now, and would totally still be using it if it wasn't for the Swype thing.
