Does anyone know a good brand for a carbon fiber case??
I got one through Verizon that wasn't too bad. But then again it wasn't great.

Isn't carbon fiber expensive.... Unless I am mixing up carbon nanotubes and carbon fiber. And it would absorb electromagnetic radiation in a fashion similar to a Faraday cage, right?

There is one on ebay. It was $100 bucks I think. I saw it a few days ago while searching for a case.

$100 is a little pricey for that case, but it definitely looks pretty nice tho. Also just saw the carbon fiber iphone 3g/3gs livestrong case for $50, would almost pay that.

ridiculous. You can get fabrics that look like carbon fiber for a lot less. It isn't needed at all for this application.
Nomex, kevlar and gore tex are all cheaper than carbon fiber lol, i don't know about retail prices, but to actually manufacture it is much cheaper.

There's pictures of the captivate version in the captivate section and it is definitely not real carbon fiber.
Real carbon fiber would interfere with rf reception.

Don't like that carbon fiber case, I really want that sleek white SGP case from their main site.. It's been out of stock for the entire time I knew of it's existence though :/
You gotta wonder about management at Samsung. They are losing money everyday this stuff is out of stock. And every Samsung accessory I've seen for the Vibrant on Samsung's website is out of stock. At least, the accessories I'm interested in.

hi my fellow XDA members i recently have been going through cheap cases of eBay because i cant find the rite one.i bought one last night by diztronic and it looks promising,i also bought one called case mate i seen on YouTube and that also looks promising but expensive! im going to send one of them back.my perfect case would be a tight fitting gel that is durable but not tpu but more of a stiff gel.anyone come across anything that resembles that? thanks

Both are high quality TPU cases. Im using the Diztronic now. Have 3 Cruzerlites on order waiting to be shipped.The Cruzerlites have ridges on the side for grip and a cool android on the back. Diztronic is matte and gloss and offers good protection. May replace the diztronic after i get the cruzerlite...haven't seen anything like it.

I had been using the diztronic tpu version 1 until I got a rearth ringke slim in the matte black color. Haven't taken the rearth off since.
Casemate Tough or Otterbox Commuter coupled with Carbon Fiber Ghost Armor & your choice of screen protector. I've spent Alot of money on cases/skins and this is the best combo for me. TPU'S are also a great value for light protection but my daily setup is the CM Tough & Carbon Fiber Ghost Armor with a Ghost Armor screen protector. These companies customer service is amongst the best in the industry.

The Diztronic TPU case is awesome. I just got mine today and it fits nicely, no shifting cutouts are perfect and adds a good visual appeal to the phone.
i exchanged a noname TPU case for a casemate barely there and much happier about it...phone weighs almost half and case is good enough for light protection.
besides, it's quite classy, TPU or casemate tough don't do justice to the Nexus...

+1 The Matte Black back is much nicer than I had expected to be, and the glossy rim around the front bezel is very generous, and the overall feel of the case is quite classy IMO.
Hey guys I wanted to buy a case mate pop case cuz I like how it looks but I remember hearing somewhere on here that they aren't selling them right now because they are making revisions on them. I seen a few on amazon still and I been tempted to buy one but does anyone know what these revisions are? Like is there something really wrong with the cases?

The current 1G version doesn't have the hole for the camera's microphone. The CM Toughcase and Barely There version does. I don't know why it wasn't included in the first iteration. Laziness, perhaps?
I'm using the OtterBox Defender Case. If you're not a fan of bulky cases it's probably not for you but, it's perfect for what I need it for.
Damn. To me it does seem like laziness lol I guess ill just wait for the revision model

I haven't seen a replacement but BodyGuardz does have a carbon fiber skin for the back. I have the same skin on my Transformer Prime and it's great quality.

EDIT: Well, upon digging, those are covers that have cheap leather glued onto plastic housing.......would be nice to have that in real carbon fiber look/feel
I ordered one myself, so when I get it, I'll let you know the quality of it.

It looks slick but I can tell from the pics that the edges of the carbon fiber piece look kinda shoddy. That's my biggest complaint about cases with CF. I've never seen one that had perfect edges.

Yeah they do. I Did the carbon fiber myself and I gotta smooth the rough spots out a little more.
I had this case for my evo lte and loved it so I got one for my ONE, just put it on today and so far I like it, not to sure about how good the thin part by the volume buttons is gonna hold up but we will see...
