Just want to let you know that I don’t work or am I affiliated with XO Skins in any way.
So I have had this on my Tab ever since I got it and am very happy with my purchase so I thought I would give a review for others that are looking for a good screen protector.
Before I even go into the review, I just wanted to post my thoughts on the argument for Gorilla Glass. I have been unable to find any proof that Gorilla Glass is present on this device, but even if it is, I still recommend a screen protector. Gorilla Glass is not made of diamonds therefore can be scratched by materials that are simply harder then it. Why spend $600 on a device and leave the most vulnerable part of it open to scratches and whatever else is out there? People also say that it is not like a phone so it won’t be in and out of pockets, etc, but I myself do not want to take the risk on such an expensive device. Anyways, that’s my 2 cents, and now onto the review.
I bought it through their website for $24.95 on a Friday, and received it on Monday. I did do rush shipping just because I knew my Tab was coming that Tuesday and I wanted to make sure I had a screen protector for it once I got it. It came in a padded envelope with just the XO Skins general box inside the envelope. In the box was the screen protector rolled up, a bottle of their installation spray, a squeegee, and installation instructions.
The instructions were detailed and easy to follow, however I would recommend using a micro fiber cloth(not included) whenever you clean your device instead of a dry paper towel like they recommend. I found the Skinomi installation video to be very helpful since the screen protectors are made out of similar/if not the same material.

I recommend doing the installation in your bathroom where you can get some hot water running for a few minutes. This steams up the room and helps prevent dust and other crap from getting under your screen protector when you install it. Also, don’t be afraid to be generous with the application spray when spraying the screen protector and make sure to keep the squeegee wet when you are using it to get rid of the excess solution. Don’t worry if yours comes out milky or with a few bubbles, those will go away once the solution dries and cures completely. Overall though, the installation is quite easy and took me only a few minutes. I am a perfectionist and since this is a wet installation you can move the screen protector around until it is exactly where you want it which is nice. I let it dry in the original SGT box for a full 24 hours and it came out perfect.
It honestly feels almost exactly like glass when you are sliding your finger across it which was something I was worried about before ordering it. In the past I have tried the Zagg invisibleSHIELD and hated how it felt sticky and had what is known as the orange peel affect. I believe they are made of similar quality materials but the XO skins produces none of the negative effects that I found present with the Zagg protector. It doesn’t feel sticky and I have found no problems with the clarity or viewing angle. I also haven’t noticed any problems with the touch screen not registering my touches as well. It also does collect finger prints and smudges, but it is not nearly as bad as just plain glass. It is easily wiped down with a microfiber cloth though.
Overall, I highly recommend the XO Skins screen protector to anyone looking for a great way to protect the screen on their new tab or any other electronic device that needs a screen protector. I will definitely be ordering from them again once I get my new phone.

I also think they have a 30 day money back guarantee if your not happy, but dont quote me on that because I am not 100% sure
I need a screen protector for my Galaxy SII i9100 because I do not want to damage the screen. It should be a pack of 2-3 because I almost always mess up the first time.
It doesn't matter if it is glossy or matte, both are fine, but I am in the sun a lot so I should be able to still see the screen. Preferably something which gets rid of finger oils easily.
I live in USA, so Amazon or Ebay would be excellent.
I am using the Steinheil Ultra Series Screen Protector Films for my AT&T phone, the Ultra Crystal. It comes in a pack of 2. It was very easy to install, no bubble.
It keeps my screen scratch free and I still have the super nice clarity of the original Samsung AMOLED Plus screen.
They even have video to show you on how to do it on youtube or their website (sgpstore.com). There is no fingerprints issues with this Crystal version, you can just use their supplied Micro-fiber fabric and they go away.
You can buy them on Amazon for $13.99. The Ultra Optics which costs $2 more would be my other preference but it did not exist for my AT&T model.
Or you can try the Ultra Oleophobic which is oil resistant and is $13.99.
I use basic screen protector from ebay and work fine...
Phantomskinz - doesnt have the tacky/sticky feel (whilst offering same protection) of e.g zagg invisibleshield.

Try the SGP Glas, although not fingerprint resistant, its a great screen protector which is made of real glass and is shatter-proof in case you drop it or hit it against something. The video on the website, the guy had to use a hammer and hit it twice to destroy it, but its not like you're gonna hit your phone with a hammer any day ^_^

ah, one more thing, when using this screen protector, you have to install the Ninphetamine kernel, due to the charging bug, where the screen is undervolted, the touches on the screen are not detected unless you install the kernel, which tweaks the voltage going through the screen, and the physical touches are being recognized. Other than this, it's a great screen protector + no worries of bubbling!

It's not so much the glass being broken, more the glass being scratched. Which, despite being Gorilla Glass, is still quite easy to do (I have a tiny scratch on mine despite looking after it and never having it in my pocket with anything else for example).

This is exactly the reason as to why I wussed out on gorilla glass and installed a screen protector
I just got the SGP Ultra-Fine and I'm very satisfied with it.
Very easy to install, no fingerprint, no glare.
Get the cheapest top rated ones you can find on amazon. I was tempted to buy an expensive one, glad I didn't. I got 6 cheap ones for £3. First one went on perfectly, it's not even scratched up, but when it does, there are 5 more to easily replace it with. Not necessary to spend tons on these, you end up paying for the brand.
I'm happy with my SGP Ultra Optics protector. Since you're in the States shipping will be negligible as well. It's a dry install, I've even removed it, and put it back on to get the alignment perfect without issue.
I've tried two "wet install" protectors: Zagg (Invisible Shield) and Ishieldz, both were not even remotely worth the cost and it results in phone downtime to ensure that everything is dried out after the install. Of the two Ishieldz was the better.
Im surprised nobody mentioned InvisibleShield or iShieldz. I personally believe they provide superior protection (especially the InvisibleShield, check out the videos section of their website).
Both come with LIFETIME warranty.
EDIT: Oops, didnt read the post above me. But I've NEVER had any issue with applying InvisibleShield or iShieldz. I had an invisible shield on my X10 and was able to take keys the the screen without any damage at all and installation was a breeze. I currently have an iShieldz on my SGSII.
I prefer wet installs to dry as it is much easier to make sure everything is lined up straight before finalizing the process.

Invisibleshield has a tacky sticky feel to it, which is why i use PhantomSkinz which doesnt.

I use SGP ultra optic. it's the best!
I have been using SGP GLAS for a week and love it. Since it's real glass, it feels like there is nothing there. In fact, it has a smoother feel than the touchscreen glass.
Installation instructions must be followed explicitly, but once installed, it's great.
It's pricy at 32USD$, but worth the investment in my view.
is there actually a difference between those cheap no-name ones you can buy for $1, and branded ishield/skinomi/whatever?

Just to add to this; when I ordered my SGP case it came with an Ultra Crystal protector, I also ordered the Ultra Optics protectors. Was time for a screen protector change so I installed the Ultra Crystal since it was all I had left. Not pleased at all, magnified finger prints, but more importantly touch sensitivity was awful. Of the two Ultra Optics is much, much better, it just doesn't look as crystal clear and shiny as the Ultra Crystal one.
Put on a Belkin protector today, sensitivity is back. It has a similar optical quality and finish to the Ultra Crystal, hopefully it doesn't show finger prints as easily. It's not as custom cut as the SGP protectors however; the hole for the home button is open at the bottom rather than surrounding the button.
EDIT:
Belkin = fingerprint hell. Touch sensitivity was markedly better, but finger print residue was WORSE than the Ultra Crystal; so bad that it was hard to view the screen. I just tore the bloody thing off.
Sgp oleophpbic. I use the ultra crystal and after. 3 months I have to search for marks and even then barely find them. However oil from my fingers is the biggest hassle. I would trade a few scratches for less oil. Sgp ultra capsule is the one to get case wise. Full protection, screenguard included, slim, and no, just no, cheap Amazon screen guards are not the same. At all. Not a bit. Used them and they are a waste of money.

I have been following some threads about screen protectors while some recommend ZAGG or SGP. I am however not a fan of Matte finish as it reduces the quality of the screen.
Is there any good alternative out there that has a clear and hard surface and easy to install?

There is a trick to installing the dry type so if you choose a dry screen protector watch as many installs on youtube as you can. This method http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gav3X721qlg for applying has worked the best for me, take note of the use of the tape to remove dust out fom under the screen because the bigger the screen the more likely that you will have dust.
I got mine on with no bubbles or dust but I have put on a lot of protectors over the last year or so.

Zagg HTC One High Def Screen Protector - Amazon
I think Zagg makes the best screen protectors, I have used them on both the HTC Droid Incredible and the HTC One. The Zagg screen protectors are not the cheapest option for screen protectors especially if you go for the ultra clear model but I think the cost is worth it, especially since zagg offers warranty replacements, you only pay for shipping. With the warranty replacements, registering your product on the Zagg website is quick and easy, there are no serial numbers you need to have or anything, you only need to tell them what device you got it for and which model screen protector you got.
Another benefit of the zagg shields is the lifetime of the screen protector, in my experience the screen protectors lasted almost 2 years for my Droid Incredible before I replaced it, the screen protector started to come off around the edges of my phone. While the screen protectors do age, I would much prefer the aged screen protector opposed to any damage to my screen. In my entire life of my Droid Incredible, bought in April 2010 and still used as an e-reader by my girlfriend today, there is not one scratch on the screen thanks to the Zagg shield.
While I have not personally tried the Verizon 3 pack of screen protectors, I have had friends use them and they were disappointed with the quality of them, the biggest issue was having the screen protector stay on.
Zagg screen protectors have done such a great job in my opinion I have not wanted or even thought of trying another brand.
As for tips to putting the Zagg brand on, make sure you wash your hands before you do anything, clean the screen so their is no oil, fingerprints, dust or anything else on the phone, make sure the spray gets on both the screen protector and the screen but do not soak either, just enough spray to cover the phone and protector. I found it best when applying the screen protector to start at the top of the screen in one of the corners and work your way to the opposite top corner then work your way down, make sure to use the applying tool they put in the packaging, be sure to use a good amount of force when use the tool but be careful not to apply too much pressure and crack the screen.
If you do not want to try putting the screen protector on yourself, you can go to the Cell Phone employees at Best Buy and have them put the screen protector on. You do not need to purchase the protector from Best Buy, but they charge you a fee to do it. The major benefit of this is that if they screw up and ruin your protector they will replace it.
I tried the Verizon 3-pack when initially purchasing the one. While they are decent, I knew I wanted something a little more rugged.
I did some research and ended up settling on the Mime USA Feather lite tempered glass screen protector. It's super thin and flexes nicely when unboxed, so it's highly unlikely to actually shatter like other tempered glass protectors. It's extremely scratch resistent. I tested car keys, nails, and knives on the screen protector after applying it to the phone and absolutely no marks showed up. It fits perfectly to the parameters of the screen and is hardly noticable after application. I would highly recommend this product. I ordered it from the Mime USA website for about $28, they even threw in a code for free shipping!

I usually don't use screen protectors and whenever I put on a case, I take it off an hour later. I've had the phone for like 9 months now and the screen is fine. There are tiny little scratches but you can't notice them unless you try really hard to, they don't affect the clarity of the screen in any way. I just don't like using screen protectors because they attract finger prints and smudges so easily even when I try a more expensinve screen protector. Honestly the screen will be fine for a long time. Yes there will be extremely tiny scratches but you won't care because they're almost non-existant. But one thing to keep in mind though, is that sand is crazy harsh on the screens, so I'm extra careful when I go to the beach with my phone. That's when I suggest putting on a case and a screen protector. Because even if a tiny bit of sand getes in your pocket, it might cause a little damage. Right now my phone is brand new since I got it replaced because of a camera issue, and I just can't get myself to stick with putting on a case or screen protector, I had a screen protector on it but I took it off 2 weeks later because I miss the naked screen.

Reviews go with what you said. I think when I buy my next screen protector when my zagg wears down, I'm going to try one of these.
i'm using an invisible shield screen protector. Went on pretty easy, there were no bubbles, and it's pretty thick. I've only had it on for a week, so I can't say much about durability, but it's pretty good as far as a screen protector goes. I'm still very partial to those matte finish screen protectors, so i'll probably be picking up one of those in the future.

Got a MIME Feather myself about a month ago or so now, and I must say that it's the best choice I've ever made as far as screen protection. I'd had a Spigen and some other tempered glass brand, but they were both just too thick and noticeable on the screen. The Feather is perfect because it's hard to even tell it's on there, plus it has the Oleophobic coating to prevent smudges and fingerprints. Seriously, don't even waste your money on another screen protector. You can't beat the MIME Feather.

+1 what he said, minus the experience with Spigen. The MIME Feather is the first glass screen protector I've tried, and I don't think I'll ever use anything else. It's superb and well worth the premium price. With that on the screen and a Ballistic Shell Gel case on the rest of the phone, I don't worry about it too much.
I got a EBay $6.99, Chinese made, 0.4mm thick tempered glass screen protector a few weeks ago.
Went on really well, no bubbles and sticking down along all edges and corners. Has the beveled edges on the glass so no sharp edges.
Far better than ANY plastic one i have used on any phone. Touchscreen works well with it on.
Actually hard to notice now its on unless you run your finger from the speaker onto the screen , so the REALLY thin ones must be pretty close to invisible.
I polish up the screen every 2-3 days. Does get prints on it, so maybe the expensive ones have a better oleophobic coating??

Its definitely putting another layer of glass on the screen. You have to be careful and get it in the right position 1st time as they dont move around once stuck down. Removing them without breaking is, i suspect, very difficult. The "tape hinge" method of application works pretty well.
I have found the touch sensitivity on mine to be great. Certainly there is no difference to the "usability" of the phone, and the smoothness an feel is as good as the original screen.
I did read one review where the buttons on screen wouldn't work with a glass screen protector, but that has certainly NOT been my experience. From what i have read the thickness of these has come down from around 0.6mm in early incarnations to something like 0.15mm and being flexible in some brands.
I got a 0.4mm one. No scratches as yet. Its supposed to be very hard (9H??). I had no issues with fitting my case on after installing the screen protector.. Its a cheap silicone and hardback model that provides good corner protection. Hopefully the screen protector will help if it falls on its face sometime.

Just bought my first one a month ago (MIME Ghost), best screen protector I have ever used. It's definitely scratch resistant and feels like the original screen. Not sure how it will hold up to drops, but that's not something I am willing to test.
Had a friend buy some Write Guard screen protectors for his HTC One. I installed one on his HTC One. Screen protector was all ready getting all kinds of scratches in it. No Bueno.
I used the XtremeGuard screen protector for a very long time on my HTC One, but recently I decided I wanted a matte finish screen protector, so I switched to Tech Armor Anti-Glare. Feels much nicer to me and gets a lot less fingerprints and smudges.
I was using the protector that came with the UG case. After reading this thread, I picked up a MIME. Very impressed. It goes on dry, was easy to remove and reposition and left absolutly no bubles (these drive me CRAZY). It has somewhat finger print resistant and I did not heave to deal with wetting the protector, then waiting 24 hours to see if all the bubles went away. Best screen protector I have purchased and believe me, I have tried at least 20 different types over the years.
I have had no issues with the touch sensitivity. You can't even notice it's on unless you look really closely at the top edge.
Using the screen protector that came with my otterbox comuter and it is quite terrible.
The screen protector has been on since April and it is already deteriorating. The spots where I'd swype, type show heavy signs of use. With a faint finger swipe over the screen you can actually feel the difference.
Other than that, the actual performance isn't the worst. Glare and all in the sun is bad, indoors though I don't have any issues.
Will look into MIME.

Hi, I want to share my experience with skinomi techskin screen protectors.
Skinomi screen protectors are wet application screen protectors.
They are supposed to hold advantages such as:
Better Light Penetration
UV protection
Tough Skin for anti scratch
Anti yellowing
Self healing
No Orange Peel
Application
They are not simple to apply at all. Easy to align but hard to have no dust underneath. You have to spray the screen protector with the application liquid. And then put over the phone screen. But in doing so, you cannot see the small specks of dust that is trapped under the screen protector until you have completely applied it. This is because the screen protector has many microbubbles underneath it and seeing dust and removing them is very difficult. If you use your fingers to reapply then what tends to happen is that more dust goes in. This is because the dust sticks to wet surfaces easier than dry surfaces.
Furthermore, you are not really supposed to touch your device for half a day until after application to allow for micro bubbles to disappear. So you can't really tell you messed up until later. When reapplication can result in stretched skin.
Micro-Bubbles
They do disappear after 48hrs. They are generally not a problem. Sometimes if you reapply too many times, the micro bubbles do not disappear. They didn't disappear after the 3rd reapplication when i simply gave up.
Post Application/ Results
My sample had vertical rainbow streaks on it. This is what looks like single pixel lines that run vertically for about 5mm to 10mm. They are scattered across the screen and is very annoying when you are viewing a white background. I was told they were supposed to go away but they never did. Not even after 4days. They agreed to give me a second copy after i emailed them pictures of the faulty product. They sent me a new one free of charge with shipping paid for. But this also had the same problem even though I applied it more perfectly.
Again Also they both had a bad orange peel problem that make the screen protector have a uneven pattern on it. This problem does not fix itself and will not go away after 3 days. This could be the cause of the skin also feeling very grippy, which is not a feeling that i enjoy.

Very good. They responded to the emails within 2 days. They agreed to work out my problem and send me a replacement.

Oh Hell No! Both had defects. They cost 7pounds on amazon uk. Although you get replacements for life you do have to send them your previous product meanings shipping fees. I didn't but that wasn't the conventional protocol as stated on their website. I got some 1pound for 6 cheapo screen protectors that did the job much better (more clear, no orange peel, no dust, easy to apply, more slip) than the expensive skinomi.
I would not recommend this product.
I would recommend you get yourself some cheap $2 for 6 screen protectors to hold you out until you get yourself some china tempered glass screen protectors. Those are nice.
