My feelings also. Not trying to be a Richard Cranium, but if you can afford an Evo, you can afford a 99 cent app.

if they had a thing to charge them to the phone bill like farmville
i would buy more apps

I understand you.that was me last year. Google needs to invent "Google Checkout Points," redeemable in the market.

Odds are your problem is caused by you downloading those apps, since that's the number one way people get trojans on their phones.
Look, you paid at least $250 for your phone, and at least $70/month for service. I think you can afford a $0.99 app.

It was stated a few posts up that the person doesn't have a credit card. I agree that it would be nice for Google to enable buying apps by having them charged to your phone bill. Not everyone has access to a credit/debit card.

Just a note: you can use visa gift cards on the market with Google Checkout - I have. You have to register the card with the website so the name & address will be registered to the card, just like a debit card. The website is in the info that comes with the card. If you really wanted to buy an app, you could.
Every paid app should have a license check, in my opinion.

Open a free checking account and get a debit card? Pay for your apps please, it keeps android moving forward. I used to do the same thing as the OP, until I felt convicted by God not to so I deleted everything I had acquired and bought it all.

my dad paid for the phone and the bill

As others mentioned, go to walmart and buy a prepaid credit card. Load it with like $25, and attach it to your google account. You can use it to buy apps. Alot of apps are going to be installable as they start using googles market verification to make sure you purchased it.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App

no, apps won't void your warranty, there is no way for sprint to check quickly and they wouldn't take the time to either, if the apps are to blame then sprint well say it was an app after they reset your phone to stock. then start over installing them and do it slowly so you can catch the one that gave you problems.
if your just worried that they are checking over the wireless and not in store then have no fear, they don't check for that

Yes, again, that doesnt matter. Get a prepaid credit card from walmart, or grow some balls and get your own bank account. STOP stealing apps for free, the dev's work very hard on these apps, and deserve to get paid for their work. Your excuse is just that, an excuse, because you are too lazy to tell your dad to screw off and get your own credit card, or pay for your OWN bill for pete's sake...

Harsh but true
+1

I surprised no one has stated the obvious lol. 99% of these apps have a free or 'light' counterpart; most of which usually are fully functional with ads.
Most kids(dkdude36 excluded for obvious reasons lol) don't NEED and ad free app, you saw free and went for it. Is what it is.
I will +1000 on the Google market needed to up their accessibility with pre-paid cards. I gave my 10yr old my Vibrant when I moved over to sprint and I wouldn't give her my account either. She's pretty smart but she would still buy random stuff not realizing it adds up. She is pretty happy about all her free apps though.

If you're under 18, kinda hard to open a bank account. But immensely simple to get a prepaid Visa or American Express gift card, next time you're at the mall or walmart (and if you're under 18, this will certainly be sooner rather than later ), just get one of those and exercise your freedom from your parents

I have evo's for sale in my sprint store.

I see so many people still saying they are unable to get the evo's they want so I am posting this thread to try to help. I work for a sprint store and I have plenty of EVO's on hand. If you need one or more I am able to ship them to you usually within 2 days. If you'd like more information let me know.

Seems kinda fishy... 1st post... and what Sprint store employee is going to post on a forum soliciting buyers for a phone that's proven very difficult to keep in stock?

Thank you. I've already found Evo's for me and one brother, but my other brother is trying to find one and I would love a BB, or Sprint employee to tell me they just got some in locally so I can tell him to run over there.
The real help would be to post the store location and phone number so members could call and speak to him legitimately or go there if local.
Here ya go if you need to see that this isnt something fishy. Here is my number 928-458-5286 store number is 928-771-0662 also if you go to ppc geeks and look in the threads my store has already helped people pick up the phone. Of course they have to be able to upgrade or something unless they would like to pick it up for retail price and being able to bill to your acct is the prefered method. We pay shipping also so you dont have to pay shipping prices.

Will you sell the phone for $200 shipped? I don't want to deal with the MIR. You could credit our sprint account $100 and send in the MIR as a batch from the store.

Any store that told you thought is simply holding the phone for an upgrade or new activation since they make a commission on it. It's not a Sprint policy.

Unfortunatly we are unable in the store to waive the MIR so we would have to charge it. Sorry , and to your bright eyed question we can always sell a phone upgrade no upgrade no matter what just remember though the retail price of an evo with no discounts is $450 before tax. Just to warn you.

I'm fully aware of the $450. I am not eligible for my full upgrade for quite some time and I am trading web design work to a friend, in exchange part of his payment will be an Evo out of contract and then I will still get my upgrade later. This will work right?
Is there any other way of payment since he is going to purchase it for me?
any luck with him?
I'd be very interested in setting up a new Sprint account and acquiring the Evo from you for the usual $199 with 2-yr contract. Do you ship to Hawaii? And is there the usual 30-day trial period, in which I could return it to a local store if need be?
How's about telling us when the Samsung Epic4G will drop?

I suggest at least that you blacklist the IMEI , so that the carriers will block it and it won't be as easily sold.

But still.
Did you register it at HTCSense.com? If so, theres a function on there (or so ive heard) that can locate your lost phone. And make sure to contact your contract provider, tell them its stolen, theyll block it. No one can prevent it from being sold though.
Your network provider will either give you a free replacement or charge you £50 for a new one depending on who youre with/if you have insurance.

If you didn't insure your phone than sorry to say that but you are dumb. I pay £5 a month and hardly can feel any difference in my bank account. I imagine loose it or it gets stolen or flooded or whatever else you can think of i pay £20 and get a new phone. No stress no fuss and especially nothing what you are trying to do by finding phone on your own

I feel quite the opposite, I've had a phone since I was 14, that's 12 years, if I payed £5 a month for those 12 years I would have paid out £720 and would have claimed from my insurance once...say £200.
The moral of the story is put £5 a month in a savings account instead and you are the one who is dumb...sorry.

I agree, I mean I pay £7 per month more for my house insurance and I am covered up to 250k,
now what I did is when I got a new phone on contract I sold the old one and put the cash in a savings account, then prayed the same amount as I was asked to pay for insurance in to the same account, 12mths on did the same, I know have the cash to replace my phone if it gets nick, damaged act.
and if it never happens I still have the cash.

I agree with you, I've also never paid for insurance and I probably never will, but let's not forget that some people just want to feel safe about their gadget and are willing to pay a little extra and won't have to worry what will happen if they get robbed or some other awful accident.
So the moral of the story is that no one is dumb .

Google Android Market verses Amazon apps Market

I wish more developers would put their apps on Amazon.......don't want to put my credit card on the market, Amazon you can you gift card.... I wanted to get the paid Rom manager. Why does Google not have gift cards? I know they could sell more apps. Amazon has many of the same apps as the market.......Can I have everyone's thoughts on this....Thanks!!!
Because Amazon app store is only available in the US and most of the world aren't in the US.

Buy a prepaid debit card.
Gift cards for the Android Market would be cool. Everyone else has them.
I still like the Android Market better than Amazon.
Google Wallet has prepaid Google Cards but I can't figure out how to use other then NFC.
That'd be one option. Of like stated above, instead of buying a "Google Giftcard" just purchase a "Prepaid Visa" that are available in every drug store and super market.
Market Cards would run the risk of being exploited and generated... Unless Google treated them as a PREPAID VISA.

It opens the app for your PIN when you set the phone on the terminal, you enter the PIN and place it back down, and it makes the sale. It initializes with NFC to know to accept the payment.
Slightly off topic, but did anyone receive a $10 credit after activating a Google Prepaid card on Google Wallet?
Imagine a credit/debit/giftcard that doesn't physically exist in your wallet but you can use it at certain stores to pay for things. That is what the big deal is.

I did not get it instantly. This is how you have to do it. When you go into the Samsung Pay app you have to go to the "more" option on the top right. Then click on "promotions" and find the promotion in the list. You have to accept the terms and conditions before it will send you the digital gift card. Hope this helps.

Thank you, Volfan. Yes, I tried that also. I'm wondering if it was because I used an Amazon.com card. It is underwritten by Chase and can be used anywhere, so I don't consider it a "private label" card, which is excluded from the promo. Of course now the promo is over, so can't try another card.
I made a purchase and got confirmation in the app that I had earned the credit. But it got stuck on the last step--loading the rewards card--despite trying repeatedly over several days. I e-mailed Samsung about it, but haven't heard back--I suspect they're dealing with bigger issues.
Got mine right away
Here in Cambodia, samsung pay isnt even available. Such a complete let down. Why cant this kind of service available worldwide?
