[Q] Change notification Sound using Warm Z TwoOoiontTwo? - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Everyone,
I am using the latest nightly's warm-z-twopointtwo-incredible-03262011 and lately I have not been able to change the notification sound when I receive mail on my ActiveSync and POP accounts.
I have changed to sound in the Settings->Sounds->Notification sound options. It changes for my Gmail but not ActiveSync and POP. I also went into Mail->Settings-> Notification Settings and checked the Notification sound check box. I do not see an option to change the sound in the Mail settings like I do in Gmail settings.
Is this an issue that I am missing? I have been searching the forums but did not see anyone else having this issue. Am I missing a setting?
Thanks for the assistance!

Email toast notifcations?

I've tried searching in mail settings, and then in app settings but i couldn't find anything regarding notifications for emails (other than playing a sound). But when i'm in the browser, or another app...i dont get any toast notifications. Is this just an OS thing right now, or have a missed a setting somewhere?

E-mail notifications

When i recieve an e-mail using the stock mail client if i don't look at it the nofication sound repeats at regular intervals. Does anybody know how i can change this to play the notification sound once only. I can't find the setting anywere!
I am using robis hd v14of rom.
This is something I happen to notice aswell.. may be the 2.29 update? didn't happen before.. I get 'new email' sounds untill I 'open' the message..

[Q] [AOKP] Notifications -- SOLVED

Currently, when I receive a new email, voicemail or text message, my sound notification whistles (yes, I missed the whistle so I added the sound back to this ROM). However, the sound notification does not work for my second and third email. The notification only works when the first has been cleared. How do I change this behavior so it notifies me for every notification every single time?

I'm going to assume you are using the Gmail app. If not, these instructions shouldn't be too much different for the default mail app.
Open Gmail
Go to Settings
Select your account
Select "Ringtone and Vibrate"
Uncheck "Notify Once"
FYI, this is not AOKP specific, this has been the case with the Gmail app for along time.

Any way to only enable sound notification for texts?

I haven't figured out how to stop notification sounds on emails while allowing them for texts. I get over 100 emails a day between my email accounts and am going nuts. Is there a way to only allow sound alerts for texts? It seems that you have to have sound alerts for emails & messages or no alerts at all. Am I just missing something in the settings? I came from a Note 3 which allowed me to set up sound alerts for everything individually. I only want text alerts. Any apps out there anyone can reccomend for the G4? I'm tired of hearing the phone alerts in the middle of the night when the spam emails are rolling in. Thanks in advance.
You can either go to email settings, select the account, go to the notifications area, select sound and scroll to top and select silent or go into Priority Only notifications mode and allow messages (and/mms).

Thanks. Hope this does it.

Xiaomi a2 lite message tone

Hi everyone...
I've tried everything to change the message tone on my phone.
I can change notifications but there doesn't seem to be an option in messages or in sounds to select a SMS tone?
In previous phones there was the option when selecting a tone/mp3 etc... to 'use as' then pick SMS tone.
Does anyone know how to change sms tone...?
Thanks for any help...

You could've ask that question on google and get the answer immediately...
Since Android 8 custom SMS notifications were moved inside the app/app notification settings. Go to Messages>General Settings>Notifications>Other notifications>Advanced and from there select the sound you'd like for your SMS messages.
I think that this way cant change the tone. First go to market find massages and then select uninstall. This will remove only updates, not the whole massage app. Then go to stings-advancend and find the tone you want to use. Finlay update the app
Hi again..
Tried uninstalling the app.
Went to sounds and still no option to change the message tone under advanced...?
This is weird as it's usual in other phones...?
Is there an access option I need to select somewhere...¿
Can't find the actual tones either on the SD card or internal storage....?
Was thinking I could maybe set it from there...?
Thanks

Stop listening to stupid replies and do this: Messages>General Settings>Notifications>Other notifications>Advanced
Following the steps you'll get what you need. In my case I use the iPhone TriTone.mp3 sound. The custom sounds must be placed in internal memory>ringtones.
Hi..
Just found that before I read your post..went in exactly as you said and have changed the tone....?
Cheers...
James
