Market App - Defy General

My Motorola defy finally arrived by mail today, but unfortunately the market app isn't included and there is no way I can ship it back. If I install another rom will the market app work?
Thanks,

Yup for sure.
Or give this apk a shot...
http://m.cfa.aero/misc/Vending.zip

Where are you located? If you search around you'll find phones designed for the UAE often come w/o market as it's apparently not allowed. Also, most (if not all) who have this issue find they cannot add market. Perhaps rooting will make it work.
Also of note, some people who have ordered their phones over the internet have gotten "Saudi" phones even if they are not in that market. And, apparently, the manufacturers sometimes will not support the phone.

I ordered it from the internet and I think its from the gulf region because of the arabic manual. I wanted to ask If I flashed another rom will it work and which rom should I flash ,that is stable and fast.
and now to flashing I just start the phone while pressing up volume and ON. Then connect to my pc, start RSD lite and flash the rom?

Maybe try higgys way but I donno.

Is there one of these images that isnt from the engineering evo? Im trying to get one that wont tell my phone it is an engineering phone, because for some reason my market will not displayed paid apps at all.
Thanks
out of curiosity, why are you running an engineering rom instead of flashing a stock rooted or custom?
Im not running the rom, but its the engineering bootloader. Id like to return the bootloader to the stock one so that it might restore the correct market.

What does the bootloader on the phone have to do with what Market it displays?
Oh, wait... that's right. NOTHING.
If you've put some ROM on it that has a signature not recognized, that's your own lookout.
Hey thanks for being a **** but maybe there is just something you arent aware of. I have flashed about 10 roms, all of them with the problem that the market doesnt have a paid section in it. People have indicated that it might be because for some reason my phone is being displayed as an engineering model, which is why i wanted to return the stock bootloader. My problem is unique, literally nobody has been able to be of any help, and you being an ass doesnt help.
Im no idiot ive been doing this for a while, and it isnt that my specific rom is messed up.

Why do you even bother writing a comment he needs help that's why he posted here I hate people like you read the forum rules
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I know this might be a dumb question but are you wiping data, cache, dalvik, and ext
if applicable?
all of the above. Like i said i just got the market back, so i flashed a new rom after wiping everything and whoop, there go the paid apps.
WTF

Did my device change identity? Apps not available and device gone from play store.

So this is odd.. Since yesterday a few things happened:
-If I search for apps I have in the play store, I cannot find them. Search results turn up VERY little results.
-If I search for 1 app specifically and click the app icon (so not searching by text field) it says the app is not compatible with my device.
-If I do the same with apps I already have, it says my device is not compatible with this version of the app (even though I have it!)
-My device is gone from the google play store website..
-If I go to my apps in the play store, about 15 of my 200 actually show up, the rest is gone.
I already cleared Google Services Framework yesterday, and after a night, still not fixed..
Now what?
I was planning on flashing a new rom today, will that auto fix it? Because I don't want to flash the new rom, if after that I cannot use the play store to find all the apps I have right now..

Stock with built in root (also stock recovery). Had it for at least a year now without updating, but I felt it was time for kitkat.
Wow this sucks. I did this, the ultimate wipe and reboot 1 second after:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1377514
And after rebooting, my play store keeps getting the same error "no connection". On wifi and 3g even though my internet browser works fine. So I guess that made it worse.. Going to try this now:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2273994
Didn't work, still no connection.
Now rebooting after deleting play store data.
Will the new rom flash solve this anyway? If so I'll just do that.

No I wanted to do that today but I won't if I can't install my apps after that.
I'm on 4.1.2 and my device name is still correct.
Not easy to predict and give a guarantee, but on the other hand: what to loose if you already have those problems?
I would give a try.
Not to forget the most important thing: If you update, you will get knox-enabled bootloader, so you could loose warranty by Samsung with rooting your device.

But roms can come de-knoxed, right? And this one isn't.

Yes comes with knox but not enabled so there is no knox counter saying warranty void 0x1.
All custom roms come deknoxed, nothing to fear about knox.
BTW: Knox is in fact only an application to run on business devices of companies. No use and importance for private users.

Okay thanks.
I'm not planning on updating any time soon and I want 4.4 doesn't REALLY matter which rom.
Can you advise me which rom is most done atm? So I don't have to update in a month again?
Most roms are still in development and change their bases as soon as new firmware is available.
Many of them deal with new S5 features and also Note 3 goodies are inbuilt.
It is totally your choice - not mine - what you need and prefer :good:

Android 10 Has Begun Rolling Out For The Moto One Vision In Brazil!

This time it's the real deal and not a beta/mfn version.
The update comes bundled with the January 2020 Security Patch and has the build number QSA30.62-24
As usual, the update is rolling out in batches... As by far, only users of the first batch of devices have received the OTA update.
The other batches (02/2019 and so on...) are still waiting in line.
My phone's batch is 06/2019... So I'll have to wait a little more
EDIT: As Of Today, January 13 2020, the OTA update, versioned QSA30.62-24 is out for All Users of the Motorola One Vision In Brazil using the Retail Software Channel (RETBR).
I just updated my phone and did a hard reset to start clean.
how do you know which batch is your phone?

Question Baseband Version UNKNOWN

Tried everything. Searched through the webs for past couple of days. Everything failed.
Majority of articles are from times of Ancient Rome. None work and are outdated.
Reflashed stock with nand erase and pit file. Checked and failed.
Tried root related solutions? Checked and failed.
Searched modem file. Failed.
Downgrade to prev version? No longer plausible. Due to BIT.
I flashed and reflashed with odin numerious of times. Nothing. Useless. Absolutely useless.

Nope, he said no matter what rom he flashed it was always unknown IMEI.
However I found something interesting, turns out my IMEI and baseband numbers are intact when I check them from recovery. Maybe downgrading this phone should fix that, although I'm not sure if it is possible.

OK I tried doing that and now phone is bootlooping with secure check fail md1img error, that's the anti-downgrade thing complaining. No luck down the downgrade hallway.
I think the only option is to wait for a possible solution from the Magisk people or check if a future update somehow fixes the problem.

That's been deprecated with Android 12. And even before thst, many apps prevented adb from backing up their data. The only way I know of to get a full backup is with root.
Honestly, I've yet to find a way to get the data backed up without rooting. Given that almost all my apps either export a file to use as a backup, or I don't actually need a backup. But if you do, you might want to wait for the official update.
