3500 mAh Battery + Back Cover $12.97 on Amazon (incl. Shipping) - EVO 4G Accessories

I was just looking for a good deal on an extended battery on Amazon and came across this jewel...
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0042TY68C/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=A1N1UQZS4G6GV9
I have seen the price on this fluctuate all the way to $19.99 over the past week, and it is $5.99 right now...
It may not be Seidios, but for that kind of money... who cares?
I hope this helps people out there...

Not again...aren't there hundreds of threads relating to this same read that you added or am I being ignorant
Edit, these are the same ones on eBay from hong kong for like 6 dollars

True, but the reason why I posted this is because you are buying this from Amazon and not from some other place in Hong Kong via eBay (read faster shipping.... I am getting mine in 4 days as opposed to 2 weeks+ from most vendors in Asia on eBay). Plus, I tend to like Amazon's customer protection a bit better than eBay's tbh.
You are correct also in the fact that there is the thread here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857957), which talks about the 3500 mAh batteries (as well as a few others) but this one has digressed into a heated debate as to why Seidio wants to profit out of batteries, so posting in there would have been kinda useless.
Truth be told, I am not asking a question about the battery (which is the case for most of the threads that you are referring to), and if I would have had a question, I would have searched for an answer as I always do. I am announcing something that I hadn't seen posted here, which is special (limited time) price for a high capacity battery from a very much trusted online seller. But hey... what do I know... I am only one of the Site's admins...
PS. Next time, please don't flame.

5.99 + 6.98 for shipping

It is back to $20 + shipping...

i got this same battery from amazon a few months ago for $25...it shipped really fast and it still last all day everyday, i never have to worry about bringing a charger with me or extra stock battery like before...last week i tried out my original stock battery because i havent used it since i rooted and thought maybe with my new rom and kernels it would last longer, it was dead in two hours, so i put this one back in...from when i wake up early in the morning til when i go to sleep late at night i still have anywhere between 50-75% battery left..i recommend it.

thanks
egzthunder1-- thanks and i feel safe asking this question seeing your a mod.

I have not gotten this yet, but the back covers for the 3500 mAh batteries I have seen pics of are not that much bigger... then again, until I don't see one live, I will not trust pics. More than likely, your current case will not work though as the battery is considerably larger to begin with.
Hope this helps.

thanks thunder, did you order one? I an hoping the case fits. As it is a bit lose. Who know again 12 bucks can not go wrong.

Make sure you guys do the 6 cycles (discharge / charge) or else you'll be screaming at your phone again!

Just a few bad reviews but the good ones far outweigh them... it could very well be because of the charge/discharge cycles...

i'm assuming this means that after you fully charge it...DO NOT put it back on a charger until it is pretty much dead?? Then proceed to charging it back to full??? I would like clarity on this as my battery will be arriving today (which I bought off ebay for $11 from a retailer in Chicago) and it didn't mention that in the listing.

Ceeb thanks for asking the question I was going to ask. As normally I do not fully discharge my battery. But I am curious to hear why. Also everyone is saying use an external charger I have been using my old tp2 for that would that work as well with this battety?
Thunder is the cheap hdmi cable an amazon brand? I bought 3 amazon brand ones for my tuner, blu-ray and tv they worked better then the 60 buck one I had. And they were like 8 bucks.

Glad you posted this.. Keeps me from having to make my own thread... Both my friend and I both purchased this battery.. And we both agree its awesome! Was $13 shipped when we got it. Battery lasts all day no problem, especially once I put Warm2.2 with an SBC undervolting kernel. Cover fits as good as stock and doesn't look obnoxious like the Seidio. It is still bulky, but not too bad.
As far as the charging/draining debate... I did 4 cycles from full to completely drained, and my friend did not (just topped off like normal). I have to say our batteries perform the same. So I'm not sure the charging/draining is necessary. I still say it can't hurt, so I would still do it. As far as the using an external charger, I would say that also isn't necessary. Difficult to get the extended to 100% with the stock ROM, because the phone stops charging once it hits 100% and then charges back up when it drops to 90% (as far as I know). So for that reason, the battery drops from 100% to 92% or so pretty quickly, but then drains slow after that. As I said, I switched to an SBC Kernel and it goes all the way to 100% (4.2Volts) and stays there. Then actually stays at the upper range for a long time, effectively giving you your 8% back.
Overall, this battery is awesome... Highly recommend!

this is the same as china batt i bought from ebay. been using mine for 4 mos now and its still doing good. one full charge lasts like 1 day and 15 hours with 6-7 hours wake time.

I really do not want to mod this phone I have the Sprint warrenty. So it looks like it will still charge so I am excited for days I go and use it for social media pictures, and series radio streaming. Thought I have to figure out my msl so I can fix the streaming stuff.

I paid about 30 shipped back then too. Great price! I think I might get an extra.

I was hoping to get a recommendation on one of the 2000mah batteries, but if I could win it cheaply, it'd be worth checking out. Maybe I'll buy one of those wall chargers too. I could easily carry the extra battery in my wallet.
Thanks!
I never saw a 2000mah battery. I want to let you know, don't expect what you see in the picture. Those 1500mah ones are probably unbranded. It doesn't make a difference, as long as they work, I guess.

Just won the auction and got them for 9.50 plus 4.99 shipping. The ones pictured appear unbranded as well. They don't say HTC. And if they aren't actually yellow, it doesn't matter. Until someone makes a clear back plate, no one will see.
Thanks again!!
Jake
I'm a lil weary of those cheap non branded extended life batteries. If you go on amazon and read some of those reviews the users complain about this batteries not working after a certain amount of recharge cycles. The best off brand to trust has been seidio. Other than that just go oem. With a price that low it sounds like you could end up spending another $9.50 in a couple more months. Now, I love my ebay but that sounds too suspect.

I'm weary of buying them too, but he did say I can return 'anytime' and I plan on holding him to that word. If I get them, I'll test them with a voltmeter each week and ship them right back. Even if it's 6 months later haha.
Well I got them already... They seem to last longer than the stock battery. Who knows if it will last, but they are good now.
Glad I made the purchase.

Yeah... Just a couple hours. I'm not saying it is significantly better than OEM. I'm just saying it will work great as a backup. I also got a wall charger so one battery will be kept in my wallet as a backup and I will charge them both each night.

The reviews I've seen on these cheap batteries always seem to indicate that they aren't actually what they say they are rated, and testing shows that they don't last as long as the OEM batteries.
After a few days of use, I do not see much difference between stock 1200 and this 1700. Only payed 9.99 with free shipping, so not bad for a spare battery.

Don't believe the hype. It's pretty hard to make a battery with a higher capacity that is cheaper and is the same physical size. These batteries are compressed into these small packages and to increase the capacity without using more cells or larger cells, would constitute using more exotic materials, which would cost more. At best, these batteries are equal to OEM, but most are lower grade knock offs. The best application for any of these batteries is backup use
I bought 2 1500's for $20 off of Ebay.and yes i do see about about 2-3 difference with them.. no its not much of a difference but they do actually work.. so the hype is real..
i've always been wary of buying batteries, particularly laptop batteries, online.

For this being only your second post, it sure does look a lot like spam advertisement.
Considering the hellfire conflagration a bad Lipo Battery can cause, I would be nervous about buying cheap knock-offs. If Seido charges $70 for these and someone else charges $4, you gotta wonder what you are getting. I doubt Seido has a $66 markup on their batteries.
it's not something just a deal on a cheap. battery if you want a spare or if like me your charge port is broken and use a few batteries and wall chargers, if you want to spend $9 for the same battery with a back cover go ahead, not Spam just a good deal, show me a better deal for a cheap extended battery. like I said I don't charge the batteries using my phone so these work great, good to charge and leave in the car or plus its always have a normal sized battery in my wallet

I bought my evo used but tried to do the Touchstone mod and messed up sodering or something and now the charging port does not work and the g sensor doesn't work, but I do not miss cord charging I got like 5 batteries and 3 external chargers, that cost me like $30 for all that off cheap ebay sellers, so I always have like 3 batteries always charged and ready to go, don't even miss cord chargers any more

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Seidio had that large of markup considering they sell cases with a holster for $50. Which of course is just two pieces of molded plastic with a bit of psuedofelt and rubber finish. And which in my case, started to fall apart within 6 months after purchase. Frankly I don't think Seidio is the slightest bit better than the cheap eBay sellers, they just make a lot more money based on the perception that the charge more so they should be better.

Exactly alot of companies leverage their name so they can sell the same thing as other suppliers at a higher markup. It's good to know that alot of "manufacturers" don't actually make their own product, they actually contract out alot of their products.
Eh... $4, i'll bite.. We'll see how it works out.
Total for this and an external charger was like $7, so not too much money lost.

I purchased a couple things from them already off of ebay. Shipping was a couple days longer than I expected but they are reputable. My battery I got from them also works great...
Finally got around to testing it...
Charged it with the phone off, unplugged and turned it on.
Charged it until indicated green then unplugged then powered down.
Repeated this process four times until icon indicated 100% power.
So far I'm down to 11% and have been going 42 hours and 50 minutes with my normal use (texting, couple calls, light internet use, light gaming).
All in all for $4, great purchase. I was even more so surprised when the eBay seller contacted me and told me it would not fit with the stock battery door (I already knew that personally). They informed me that I would be getting a battery cover I believe, or a full refund.
I didn't mind either, so I just said whatever works.
EDIT:: Checked my inbox today, and they are sending a back cover it looks like.
"Now the battery cover in stock ,and we have send it to you for first time ,this is the tracking#:removed
Would you pls check it later on www.usps.com"
Fun grammar, so we shall see what this holds in store for me.
Are they still for sale?
I made an offer for the same price as the recently accepted offers and got rejected
When I went back to purchase another, they were $104 and some change.
My thoughts are they realized they did not fit the stock EVO and they needed to revamp their posting and or include a battery door.
Do a search on ebay, I found some by a couple different posters.
I can't post links yet but they are about $10
I charge mine with an exteral wall charger just for the battery, and between my two 3500 batteries in can go two days with each battery, but I usually just swap them every morning

I received my 3500mAh chinese battery yesterday and used it until it died. I charged it over night and unplugged it at 6am this morning. When I first pulled it off the charger it immediately dropped 6%, from 100 to 94. At first I was like WTF but I know the USB/AC Charger is notorious for this so I paid it no mind. It's nearly 3pm here and my battery now has 8% life left. Almost 9 hours battery life... something my 1800mAh chinese battery was already able to do. I know I can't expect much from a $8 battery, but I thought it would put out more juice than my stock one at least.... am i missing something?

Didn't see Galilio on batteryboss.org list, but I am assuming that they would probably be fake.
They are easily the best of the cheap ebay batteries.
I bought the 2000mAh Galilio on ebay for $8.99. It came nicely package- http://cgi.ebay.com/High-Quality-Ba...451129?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item230b00b539
My take, it lasts longer than the stock by far, but I am used to my 3500 battery... so I switch back and forth. Not a bad deal if you want to keep the original back cover and have a little more juice that the stock battery.
i agree, i have two of them and bow definitely last longer than the stock battery. They are a great buy.
I got two of those buggers and a wall charger and with shipping it cost me $17.52. They are at least as good as original battery if not slightly better.
Sorry, double post.
I've got one. When I switch between it and my stock one, I can feel the difference between the two. With it I can get close to 2 days w/o recharge, stock battery is only 1.5 days w/o recharge. I use my phone very lightly and a lot of wifi so take that into consideration with battery use.
Ah well I think everyone has sold me. I have an ebay bucks certificate so it isn't like I am going to be losing any money on the deal haha.

Hyperion 3500mah Battery. Any Experiences?

I've been looking at this battery. http://www.amazon.com/Hyperion-Incredible-3500mAh-Extended-Compatible/dp/B005CJDPRY
It's a 3500mah with the battery cover, for 14.99. Sounds like a steal. Anyone have experience with it? The reviews on Amazon all sounds good but it's amazon, so I don't trust the reviews all that much.
I don't have any experience with it, however - Verizon gave me the extended battery for free.
Try calling them up, and complaining of poor battery life. Like, 6 hours. They will ask you questions about use, recharing, water damage, ect. Play dumb & tell them that you are trying to do everything right (not leave it on charger, don't let battery overheat, turn off battery draining services, ect).
Then, they should (if you phone is under warranty) offer you a batter. At this point, ask for the extended battery, and make sure the rep knows that you want the one that comes with the new battery door.
Should be able to score it for free, worked for me. No screaming, yelling, or cursing required. I just calmly explained the problem. It works because your battery is covered by the mfg. warranty that lasts a year.
Good luck.
Btw, the OEM extended battery is redonkulous. straight up crazy. the only problem is finding a case that does not suck balls.

I kinda wanna get the ext. battery too. I have talked to a guy who works for Verizon, I wonder if I could get him to score me one (insert devious laughter here)
Jesus Christ! That makes your phone a giant lol. I don't think I could deal with a battery that enlarges my phone to that extent. I'm good with my stock battery anyway, I get around 1 1/2 days out of it almost always, it's all about how you oc/uv it.
The HTC one is just not that thick. I even made my own case out of the silicone part of a sedio active. A little xacto work, and I have a nifty little bumper. Very punk rock.

WARNING:
Cheap cheap cheap. You get what you pay for.
I'm disgusted with the "antennas" in the battery cover. They are sprayed-on metallic paint. Reception sucks, GPS unuseable, and I am not the only one with this experience. Keep your packaging and receipt, cuz yer gonna want to return it.
I could imagine trying to get away with it if you had a different battery cover, but I highly doubt the thing is even 35oomAh anyway. Cheap is as cheap does. Get the OEM.
EDIT:
This is the one I purchased. Not "Hyperion" but it looks as though it is the same battery cover. Read the less happy reviews on the hyperion battery, they confirm my suspicions...
(long dead thread, perhaps)...I'd avoid it. I bought one awhile back. While it's fairly decent to begin with, once it's been in use for awhile (months), the maximum charge drops off fast. Oh it'll charge to 100% but as the day goes on, it'll drop drop drop. Swapped it out for one of the HTC 2150 batteries I had and it's like night and day...the OEM battery is only down about 25% since early this morning (the Hyperion would've definitely been well below 50% remaining)

Well I have looked around for betteries for sometime and the only thing they offer for the evo is 1500 & 1800 in the standard size. I had heard tales of a 2000 or 2200 in the standard size but have not been able to find one. I got a 3500 close to the end of 2011 and used it for 4 months an twrp 2.0 bricked my phone. Then 6 months later I got another evo and have been using that same 3500 battery and it is super great. With the right setup I can go around 3 days on a charge. Whatever you do dont buy one of those cheap china batteries. I got one for $4 off ebay and it was the 1800 and cant get more than 12-16 hrs from it with the same setup.

I hear ya. I had one about a year ago with limited success. I hear good things about Anker but I'm only going on hear say. Haven't done much homework.

I have a a 3500maH also, but every time I'd drop my phone, another clip would break off the back plate til it became impossible to keep it on
same here no back on phone. one of these days i just might get an extended battery case. most of the suck but are better than none plus it will keep the back door on since i have no clips left. i have an otter box commuter for the standard battery but that battery sucks so bad i rarely use it.
I have an extended back around here somewhere. If I find it, it's yours. But can either of you comment on Anker 1800? I don't want the huge battery again. But I need something more reliable than the paper weight I have in here now

I'm using a Sedio 1750 right now, and it's obviously nothing like a 3500 maH, but in how I have very little running in the background, 3G off unless I need it (Like anyone ever needs slower-than-molasses-running-uphill-in-a-down-draft speeds), I easily get through the day with it with normal use and come home at about 45% or so.
One thing, that over-sized battery really doesn't take long to get used to ang it's design makes it actually easier and more comfortable to hold one to
Anker 1700, cheap, exceeds expectations.

Yes anker is the way to go!! No matter which size you choose it will blow away anything else plus the price is right.
