[ROM][DEV] ICS AOSP (from CM's source) for HTC Glacier [UPDATED 12.07.2011]

This is a build from the CynogenMod source. The build is in beta version now, so there will be bugs. Please, report the bugs on this thread.
The build is stable now. It's named Creamed Glacier. Version is now Beta 3.0....
Along with the Source build, we try to port more stable Roms to mytouch. Our Ultimate aim is to put in a stable build. Porting is done by marseillesw. So credit goes to him & the devs of respective sections.

Issues
-Set APN manually, 3G works, but I don't see any H+ network connectivity
-Calls, sms, mms work. UPDATE: 3G cut off after 4 mins. 3G icon flashes for 1 second in the status bar every couple of minutes. Doesn't really do anything. No data what so ever anymore. Calls do work though, and so does sms. No mms anymore.
-Call quality of the MT4G's mic seemed to be really improved over CM7 and most of the other roms
-Cameras don't work
-No face recognition unlock option :/ (because there's no cameras recognized, or the camera app either)
-Wi-Fi doesn't work for me. It scans, finds my network, but then after I put my connection's password, it just... does nothing lol
-Not VERY slow, but its buggy kinda slow... Graphics acceleration is noticeably lacked.
-Genius Button doesn't do anything (search button should be nice)
-No trackball wake
-Google Talk keeps force closing, even when not open.
-When in landscape mode, the trackball's sensor still moves in the inappropriate direction as if the phone is still in portrait.
-Bluetooth does not work or turn on.
-Root apps don't open up. Force close. Tried Root Explorer and ROM Manager.
-No live wallpapers.
-Only charges over USB. No connectivity to storage.
Version beta 1.0
Problems:
* APN DATA/MMS settings missing
* Signal Strength reading is incorrect - Stays on -97dBm - Signal Indicator always at 4. (Remove IMS registration and SMS over IMS and LTE dump settings from INFO screen)
* Data connection is wacky and does not start most of the time
* Battery driver may not be proper
* Wi-Fi Authenticates and Saves but does not start up the connection
* Bluetooth is wacky
* Talk keeps force closing even tho it is not open
* Add Wake Trackpad
* Speakerphone sound pops in and out at times in each second
* Market has issues downloading apps when data connection works; hanging
* NO SIM card message pops up at times
* USB Storage doesn't seem to be working (Unsure)
* Sluggishness causes ROM crash and reloads
Important Notes
You must complete a full wipe prior to installing this ROM the first time. Use Live wallpaper to solve the Red border issue.
Bugs and Errors
Since the Rom is in beta, please report all the bugs you come across. It will be fixed in the stable version.

So jealous. I left tmo for Verizon when I got my Rezound. Go figure this drops now lol. The Rezound s-off hasn't been cracked yet and I'm going through rooted withdrawals. Anyways thanks for this port!!

That's about all I tested.

You can enable data, just add APN from settings.

It connects to Mobile data for just seconds at a time. The data never stays on consistently, always in and out.

I totally expected it to be unusable, but was surprised at how responsive it was. For anyone familiar with the original mytouch 3g, its about as fast as that is running a froyo or better rom.
Youtube is playing sound but no video, and going to the home screen from youtube keeps the sound of the video playing till it ends.
Angry birds has been downloading about three minutes, data keeps going in and out a lot.
I'm really happy with what I'm seeing though.

[Q] AT&T Ion (LT28a) Flashed with Hong Kong (LT28i) ftf issues

I have been a longtime XDA member in the X10 community, but have never before posted.
I purchased an Ion through AT&T the 24th of June, the day it launched, and after scouring the web, and XDA, I found the Hong Kong based ftf file from the link below and successfully flashed it to my phone.
Hong Kong based ftf, build 6.0.F.0.72, baseband 9x00B-SCAQCSZQ-34702060-04

Maybe this was premature, as I am not sure how to make an ftf file, and therefore did not have my original AT&T ftf to revert to if this failed. (I would appreciate someone creating and sharing the original AT&T ftf for those who may need / want it.)
The firmware flashed successfully, and it is without all of the AT&T ware that can not be removed, and it also has a much nicer Xperia boot animation than the AT&T one, but I have noticed 2 issues with this firmware:
1. I did not back up or write down the APN or mobile network settings, and after flashing, the automatic internet settings feature in Settings, Xperia, Internet settings fails to find the AT&T network information. I did find some posts that have some AT&T APN settings (is that all that I need?) but I only occasionally get the 4G icon in the status bar when I was always there before flashing. Does this firmware possibly not utilize all of the available radio bands available on the LT28a phone as it is intended for the LT28i? Is there a hardware difference, or do I just need the correct APN settings? Can someone share these settings from the original AT&T firmware
2. Over the course of the last few days on this firmware, I have noticed that several friends have sent text messages that will show notifications on the lock screen, but as soon as I unlock the phone, I can't find the text messages anywhere. This does not happen for all people that try to send me texts, only some of them. I have tested with other people standing next to me, texting, we see it on the lock screen, then when I unlock the phone, no new messages to be found.
Can anyone provide the APN settings from AT&T for this phone, the original ftf files, and maybe provide some insight about the missing text messages?

I knew I should have made the stock FTF before I configured everything and got it all setup. Maybe in the next day I will do it unless someone else does.

Cool that will work. Is there a wiki for the ion yet? we should get it setup with the list of stock FTF files.

Thanks for the screenshots Spectre51, I had the same settings though that I found on another post, the only difference was that "APN type" has "default, admin,fota,mms,supl,hipri,internet". I don't know that my results are really any different, but I will try with the settings you provided for a few days.

Earbrain, if you could make an ftf of the AT&T stock, I think it would be great. I think we should begin building a repository of firmware, basebands, etc, and keep it organized right from the beginning.
We already have the HK firmware so graciously donated by liuxueyuan1990, that I linked to in my first post. As soon as we have original AT&T, firmware to flash back to, maybe some other flash junkies will want to try it out as well.

How the internation firmware with all AT&T setting work? or do you have to flash back to original firmware?

I don't even have the original firmware to flash back to yet. The international firmware is great., my biggest issue is that some text messages, from some people ( not all, not sure if it had to do with phone Contacts vs my gmail contacts) will show on the lock screen, but when the phone is unlocked, I can't find the text messages anywhere.
I also don't get the 4G icon in the status bar up top to often, it usually says 3G or H, but I think it really is 4G speed, it is much faster than what I have seen of 3G.
I prefer this firmware to the AT&T variant, it is more like a pure Sony firmware like you would see on an unlocked phone. Missing text messages are kind of a big deal, and I may want to switch back, wish we had root so I could just back up and restore easier.:-(

I've only made the ftf after getting the two largest blob_f files from the sues folder. Don't even know how you would do it using just the software on the phone.

Loaded the international firmware on my LT28at and it works fine so far. Loaded the apn that I posted earlier and the wifi hotspot worked fine. Not in an LTE area though so I couldn't test that. I'm setting it all up now and will try using it for the next few days and see if I notice any issues.

I have a Xperia S bought this one because 4G (still waiting for deliver). Please test 4G if it's working. If it does I think should create a guide for flashing inter nation ROM, setting etc...

Hello!
I need some help with my internet connection. The problem is that whenever the 3G-symbol is displayed in the statusbar, the connection doesn't work at all but when I have "H" it works perfect. Wifi also works perfectly.
I live in Sweden and use Halebop as my courier and I've talked to them and they sent me a new sim-card but that didn't work.
And I have this problem wherever I am so it shouldn't be a disturbance in just my area.

Hmm well the the way UMTS/HSPA+ work, the phone sits at "3G" (UMTS) when the connection is idle, ready to receive power for a connection. When an active data session is started, it switches (quickly) to HSPA+ and makes the transfer, then goes back to UMTS once its no longer receiving or sending data. The phone shouldn't ever sit at "3G" and try to transfer data unless you're connected to towers w/o HSPA+.
It does this because UMTS is a much lower power draw than HSPA+. It'd negatively affect battery life for the phone to stay on HSPA+ at all times.
What you may be experiencing (based on what you say) is your carrier + phone just being a little slow switching from UMTS to HSPA+ when you start a data session. If there's a long enough delay that webpage loads are timing out or apps aren't loading, that's not right. At that point I'd lead to you to check your APNs and other network settings.

APN tells your phone where to connect to get internet access (You can see it as on your local network your PC will connect to default gateway when trying to access the internet).

delete the proxy.tracfone....
some applications dosent work if you use that proxy... a recommend use 2 apns one for mms and other for defaul (internet) type that on apn type...i use it that way and mine work really good

How would you suggest we delete the att apn. Mine won't let me. I can create new ones but can not delete the att one. I am rooted and have flashed clockworkmode recovery.

Thanks, but when I select it and try to change it, everything is grayed out. No changes can be made. I would think the being unlocked and rooted that it would be easy to delete it.

Use caution make sure you can make a new one first if you have not already.
Select the numbers 310 and 410 change to 666 and 999 it will kill its self.

No MMS

Haven't been able to get an answer on the thread. I'm running MIUI V5 and it runs great except that the MMS doesn't work. My 3g data works fine , I just can't send or receive MMS. Is there anything I can do about this? I'm running on PagePlus (CDMA) with no sim.

I'm not sure where to go from here. This is under the MMS heading in Mobile Networks settings. The APN is TEST.

ive flashed this rom before on my dinc2 and i had the same problem. the way to fix it is go to the google play store and download apn setting shortcut. to use the shortcut ull need to instal another launcher. holo or adw will work fine its just temp. then add the shortcut to the screen then open it. set up ur apn settings the name is VERIZON. apn is internet. the mmsc is www.mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms once you get that set up go into ur regular apn set and set the same thing to that one but leave everything else as is, then save. then reboot your phone. after that your mms should work. its a long process but its the only thing i got to work. hope it works for you.

Hmm try creatong a new apn in ur regular apn settings along with the other and see if that works. If not maybe try reflashing.

The only way I was able to get it to work, was to disable MMS.apk through titanium, And set up the APN through GOSMS, but then I could only send, not receive. I wouldn't receive a text at all that had a picture.

I got it to work perfectly on miui using gosms and a different APN I found somewhere.

Thats kool i never tried go sms with it but i guess all that matters is its working for you. Its a great rom tho if u can get past the little bit of chinese thats still on it.

Hey if u start having problems with go sms i figured out exactly what i did to get mms working in the regular text messages. When innapn settings shortcut go down to mms at the bottomwhere it says test and set the apn settings in it the same as the regular apn settings and then go down to proxy server in both of them and leave it blank then make sure u save both then do a reboot and ur mms should workjust fine. I went ahead and switched back to it and got it set up the way i like it. I realized i was missing miui style and ios7 style but dont wanna pay all that money for an iphone lol plus nothing beats the custimizations of android. Hope this helps this time. Worked for me buddy.
