I red and googled for my problem but nothing could help therefore i made my own thread here,
every time i connect my wildfire to pc all i get is "driver not recognized". It shows only unknown device and when i tried to update the driver and installed desired one, it said its not compatible or if try to install it says windows encountered an error and could not install.....
i didnt have this issue before but for 3 days i cant connect to pc neither in sync mode nor data drive..
any help would be appreciated
i have the same issus as u im uable to connect to pc with usb cable ive read forum and forums tryed so meany thing to get it fixed but unable to fix it
i also used rom manager to get my sd partitioned.... after that i got this problem

It is important to remember when asking for help to be patient. Please refrain from asking the question more than once or posting about your frustration that no one has answered your question yet. When you have to search for the answer or figure out a solution…you are able to learn…understand…and then help others…and that is what XDA is about. coming to ur problem, i feel its very simple.
disk drive is an option which needs no extra software to be installed on ur pc. due to this i strongly believe that the problem is with ur pc and not with ur phone. possibilities are ur usb ports might have errors, or ur pc has been infected with viruses.
u said that the problem reported after u have partitioned ur mem card with rom manager. well, there is a possibility for this. ext3 partitions are not recognised by windows operating system. so if u have made the entire memory card as ext3 partition, then this is the issue with u. reformat the memory card. i hope u know about this and havent made a complete ext3 partition.
APPROACHING THE PROBLEM:
-just connect the phone to another pc as disk drive mode. if the problem persists, then it may be the problem of usb cable, or partitioning ext3. and if disk drive is connected with another pc, then the problem may be usb ports of ur pc not working, ur pc affected with virusses.
install a fresh HTC USB DRIVER by downloading it from the official website.
try other options like USB TETHERING, USB DEBUGGING (charge only).
try usb debugging with an application called PDANET. and using pdanet, if u can use ur phone internet to pc, the problem is with htc driver.
i hope i have given the information more than enough for ur problem. let me know what is the issue.

Hi guys im a noob when it comes to these things but ive searched everywhere and this is the only place where im sure you guys can answer my question. anyways i have a Touch Diamond 3g and my internal memory went missing after i put music on it using my Vista PC. ive read all the threads here regarding this problem but cant seem to get it to work. i was wondering if anyone has a cooked rom with the internal memory fix. What happens if you plug the phone to the computer again?
Does it show up as disk / connect to activesync ?

The way it worked for me:
I used an Ubuntu disk, run it from disk(without install), then goe to Gparted and on the right up corner choose the disk from you diamond, formatit and then Unmount de disk from the pda and you are ready to go.

i know what happen.. when pc to usb, if u se 2nd option(i forget about the text), your internal storage won't be readable via file manager. u have to chose opt no 1.. which is pc sync.

it connects with WMDC but when i choose the Disk Drive option nothing comes up. is there a tutorial on how to use that Ubunto Disk Xokos was talking about?
I can't figure this out and really need help. My phone just recently has started doing this with no explanation. When I connect my phone to the computer it does not sync so that I can access my sd card and internal storage. I have tried multiple ROMs and that doesn't seem to change it. This happened suddenly and I cannot seem to locate the source of the problem. Please help me.

One other thing, Every time I plug it into the wall, the USB debugging turns on as if it is being plugged into my computer. Never did this before. Very frustrating and confusing.

Hi guys, I am having a problem with my HTC WFS a510c, I am trying to follow this guide here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399872) to s-off the phone, but I am unable to get the phone to connect in "disk drive" mode. I have the drivers installed, the computer recognizes the phone and shows the drive in explorer but does not show up in the gold card creator. Or when trying to open it from explorer it says "please insert a disk". The last time I connected through the usb cable this worked fine i was able to move pictures and music back and forth, but as soon as I went to try this it wont work. Any ideas or help would be appreciated. Thank you guys in advance.
Did you select mass storage in the menu that comes after connecting the usb??? And BTW you need to use a Card reader to create a goldcard.

I did pick that option on the phone when it asked, ive had it working in the past.
Thank you for the advice on Gold Card Creator, I was just confused in the guide it said to plug the phone in and pick mass storage mode. Will try using my card reader thank you again.
Thank you for the tip about using a card reader, I am now S-off and Rooted, thanks again.
The only problem I am having is my phone is still not functioning as a USB storage device
could be a hardware problem on the phone......try another usb cable.....it might be that your usb cable is malfunctioning

Ill give that a shot, and hopefully that will solve it. It's just been an odd problem because the computer recognizes the phone and installs drivers and everything just now joy with storage mode.
my storage mode stopped working after i installed link2sd and made an ext2 partition. wifes still works with 2 FAT32 partitions using the same cable.
Mine stopped working before I did link2sd or data2sd, not sure what caused it, just ordered a new cable today and sd card, to see if that helps it.

i have ANDROID 2.2.1 HTC WILDFIRE AND i experience the same exact problem,
i think the problem is in the phone as i tried another pc and it did the same
i've reached a solution but its retarded and time wasting which is restarting the phone (and sometimes the pc) which also tell me that its not a usb cable problem...
i still searching for a radical solution for this damn problem

i have tried searching threads for this problem but i only got confused....i hope some good people can help me with my note 2 international version problem....the pc does not detect my device...it has been a recent problem....it used to be detected by the pc but now it cant be detected...i also have tried different pc and cables and same results...it cant be detected as a usb storage device...funny thing about it is it charges and works well with otg cable...i tried connecting a mouse and a keyboard and it works...also can read usb flash disks....the only problem is i cant acess its internal contents because it not shown on pc.... i suspect it has something to do with a software....anybody please help me out in here....iam also currently project aosp rom,,,,i used xnote rom but usb connection is not detected as well...i also tried reverting back to stock rom but still no luck being detected,,,iam planning to format the internal sd card and installing stock rom to see if it fixes the problem...if anyone out there willing to help please do so...much appreciated...thanks in advance.....

first uninstall kies and samsung driver ,reboot.
reinstall samsung driver it will try to update just cancel the update and it will install fine. do not install kies now plug in your usb to the pc and then to the phone.
if it detects good if not then the usb flex of the phone is the culprit take it to ss for a repair and be ready to make it all stock and status normal and yes despite the bad flex it does charge the phone gone through the same prob before
I used to have a galaxy s 2 it would not be detected on the pc..because while it was charging at one time it fell down the whole weight of the phone landed on the stub/pin of the charger...it continued to charged though... took it to Samsung repair store they just changed a small circuit board which had the charger and Mic...very simple and fast hardly 5 min...if all fails for you..try this option

Hi there guys
I've just Rooted my HTC WILDFIRE (buzz) to the Cyanogenmod 9. I really enjoyed the speed and new functions I have on my phone now.
However, when I try to insert my USB cable into the USB port of my destkop, I can't see my phone storage. I tried to 'reinstall' CM 9 but it still doesn't work. I've tried it on different USB ports and computers, but my phone isn't recognized anywhere.
My SD card is not 'dead' or anything, cause I am still able to install apps from the store on it.
Anybody who can help me out here ?
EDIT: I managed to get on my storage again via recovery, but do I have to do this each time if I want to remove or add something on my phone/sd card via USB ?

More probably a problem of drivers.
Quick solution : Disable USB debugging on your device before connecting in USB Mass Storage Mode.
Permanent solution : Uninstall and re-install USB drivers
