Sense widgets in adw launcher framework? - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had asked a similar question before but didn't get a clear answer, is there any way to add sense based widgets into adw launchers framework or any file at that to apply them wile running it? I figured it was possible because the .apks run but when I try to add a widget they aren't listed. Any help is much appreciated.

I've never been able to do this myself and I've tried a few times....I believe it probably can't be done because sense widgets are baked in as part of sense launcher. It'd be like trying to use launcher pro widgets in got sense UI. They're two separate entities each with their own goodies. I know you can get sense like widgets off the market. But anyways my belief is you can't do this but if you discover otherwise please let me know

Same boat kinda... The only thing I miss is the calendar that is in month view like in the basic stock.

Yeah I'm sure someone can make it happen though. If I find anything ill be sure to let you know.

Nope, they're tied to Rosie, I'm sure.
Use Launcherpro and Beautiful Widgets. Together, they create a very very close imitiation of Rosie. Beautiful Widgets has the people widget and Calendar widget that look exactly like Sense.
And if you like the clock, use Fancy Widget. A whole combination of these on a different ROM will make you think you're using Sense

Yeah I'm just gunna cut my losses and stick with a stock warm z rom. Any good dashboards recommended? I am a fan of the adw honey comb theme

LP? Yeah, I just usually do a search for Launcherpro in the Market and it comes up. But if LP makes you happy, let's flash a ROM to celebrate.

Just out of curiosity, which sense widgets can't you live without?
The thing with cyanogen is that it uses ADW launcher.. some fav it. some dislike it.. i personally dislike it, ill rather have basic 2.2 launcher like the nexus one.

And it's home cooked by an xda modder!

It's not about the rom, it's about wanting a home application that isn't Sense to be able to use Sense's widgets. The standard Nexus One launcher is included in even the stock rom, but you won't be able to load Sense's widgets onto it.
I have one recommendation, check out LauncherPro Plus. It comes with some of its own awesome widgets. They are honestly as good as Sense's calendar, people, bookmarks, and messages widgets. In fact, they look almost too much like a direct copy. You can scroll inside of them and even resize them. If those are the ones you want to keep, LauncherPro is what you want. In every other way, it is much like the stock launcher on Nexus One.
You will lose Friend Stream, but there are other widgets that can approximate that.
I reread your post. You asked for a Nexus One main screen and launcher. By main screen, do you mean the lockscreen? The one you have to drag your finger on to unlock your phone? If not, the home screen and list of programs are both handled by the launcher.
Here is what I would recommend:
Rom:
Cyanogen Mod 6 - It will make all of the menus and applications feel just like what you get on Nexus One.
Apps:
Fancy Widget - It looks and feels exactly like the HTC weather & clock widget that is the default on the main screen.
LauncherPro Plus - CM6 comes with ADW Launcher, which is pretty close to the vanilla Nexus One launcher, but LauncherPro Plus has its own widgets that look and function almost exactly like HTC's widgets.

I think you may want to clarify exactly what you want. As far as I understood the opening question, it was pretty well answered.
Currently CM6 is the only ROM that is not based on the HTC Sense stock ROM. It is instead based on the open source Android code, just like the Nexus One. There are a few tweaks that Cyanogen has added, like some extra settings, different boot screen, and some cosmetic tweaks. It also uses ADW launcher by default.
However you could just install the stock launcher on cyanogen mod, and other than the settings widget having blue highlights, you are pretty much at stock.
There is no way to use the HTC Sense widgets with anything besides the Sense launcher.
If all you care about is the launcher and lock screen, you can install just about any 2.2 rom, remove htclockscreen from /app/system, install the stock launcher, and you are done. In that case you would still have the HTC messaging, browser, calendar, etc.

Rose mod for 5 icons at the bottom near app drawer.

Hate to ask, but once again searching for on the xda app is not fun or good while I'm on the road. Is there a mod for rose in myn twopointtwo to make the bar at the bottom with five icons instead of three? I bought adw and love it, but I miss my sense widgets.
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, there is no way to mod the Sense rosie to have 5 buttons. There are however rosie mods you can do, that remap the 3 buttons, so that the 3 buttons take up the entire width of the homescreen, instead of just a portion of it, as myn's rosie does. Launcher Pro Plus has some decent widgets, that are very similar to sense. Still not quite as polished or nice as the sense widgets, but they are decent, useable, and functional.

I have to give a +1 to LPP, I actually run Warm 2.2 with Launcher Pro.
OP, you don't mention specific Sense widgets, but LPP's Calendar and Friends (similar to FriendStream) as well as the Twitter and Facebook widgets are pretty good.
Well I bought both beautiful widgets and the other one (name is not coming to me right now) and they help, but I just like the feel of sense for some reason.

It'll cost you a few bucks but the best way to do it is launcher pro plus, launcher pro icons and launcher pro glass sense skin all found in the market. You can costomize your dock bar 100% and with the skins now available in the market your widgets will look exactly like sense.

Not Really, just makes it look different (unless I'm missing something).
Thanks for your suggestions everyone. I used to use Launcher Pro, but then I got kinda bored (probably because I didn't upgrade it). I'm going to run the free version until I can purchase the full version.
Have you tried Go Launcher EX? It's free and works great.

Not sure but if you could figure out what the intent is to call rosie (sense app drawer) then you could possibly create a LauncherPro shortcut to open it? Any smali gods out there know if this would be possible?

That's pretty much exactly what I am doing. I use Apex Launcher as my launcher, but I have a shortcut created by xShortcuts that launches Rosie for the photo widget. Unfortunately, I don't think you can call a specific screen - you can only call the launcher itself.

Yup that's the way it is possible but man that's pretty much time you loose by opening sense just for having these sense widgets.
And you have 2 launchers running then since sense will be only killed when you reboot again.
Dunno for what you want that sense widgets but I would look at play store and see if there is a alternative widget which maybe has even a themeable skin?!

[Q] How to enable HTC Sense Widgets in ADW launchers

Hi
I recently shifted to the ADW launcher because of the unsightly HTC sense dock at the bottom of the screen. But then I am unable to access HTC sense widgets, like the music widget for example. I am aware that I have the option of getting a Pure Music kinda app to solve this problem. But I just wanted to know if there is any way of moving around the HTC Music Widget apk file (or any other file for that matter) so that it is activated in ADW?
I have seen the same (similar) question across a lot of different forums and the answer has always been "NO". But hope springs eternal
Thanks
ucannot have sense widget's if u move onto another launcher

You can't add sense widgets in another launcher, but may i ask you why do you use adw launcher instead of nova launcher or spex launcher? Adw launcher is so old, is made for gingerbread and froyo. Nova and apex are made only for ICS.

I guess I just grew comfortable with ADW over the years. Thanks for the suggestion, I shall try out nova / spex.
The result with Nova and Spex will be the same. HTC widgets work with the supplied HTC launcher only.
yeah that's true. But I don't understand why they have to be so microsoftishly possessive that it limits the users customisation needs. The lockscreen for example, I personally find their renowned "ring" quite blingy and there seems to be no way to edit it. So if i install MIUI locker to customise the lockscreen I occassionally have to deal with two lockscreens - first the HTC ring and then whatever else I have set. C'est la vie!
You cannot add sense widgets to adw but do not worry, use apw widgets, these look very similar to sense widgets...
Well as close as you can get without being sued by HTC ofcourse...

While I can't help with the sense clock I'd suggest HD Widgets. It was the closest I found to that style and it works well. It's super customizable too.

i really dont know. u could make a nandroid backup and then experiment. theres probably a way to modify the sense clock widget apk to not overwrite what u already have but thats beyond my knowledge. actually i think the developer of this app just made the apk with the sense skin on for one of the clocks. read the thread and look around for a place you could download and put a skin to.

I really really like them. You can make them look however you want and the weather can update from different sources. The only thing I miss is how the stock ICS one allows multiple locations on the widget with a swipe. I haven't played with HD Widgets too much but I couldn't find a way to do that.
