Either a Eclair ROM running on your phone
Or if you are already running Froyo then a kernel with 2e recovery so you can flash update.zips
Clockwork Recovery (Can be downloading in 2nd post)
Instructions:
Download Clockwork Recovery from the link below.
- Rename the file to update.zip
Download your desired version of the ROM.
- Optianal:
-- Download Stock Lockscreen
Put the downloaded files onto the internal /sdcard card
Shutdown the phone
Start phone in recovery mode (with "vol up + home + power")
Choose apply sdcard:update.zip (Might have to do this twice to get into Clockwork Recovery)
Choose: install zip from sdcard (Use Power Button for choosing in Clockwork Recovery)
Choose: choose zip from sdcard
Choose the zip file from the list you wanna flash.
- Flash the Rom first and then whatever else you downloaded
When done reboot phone
First boot will take some time since it needs to deoxed the ROM

Using Stock Android Lockscreen:
Download JPM_Froyo_Lockscreen.zip from the link below.
Copy it to your internal /sdcard
Reboot into clockworkmod recovery and flash it that way.

Amazing rom, tryed it on other firmwares before and loved it, tho in terms of speed and such. I however did not like the theme (personal taste obviously), will you be uploading a non-themed version aswell?

Well seeing as there is no OC froyo kernels yet i would stay that will take some time...
Also Lite version will be up soon
SuperLite will take some time though as i need to test quite abit with that one

Can you post a zip with a flashable version of JPM version Swype app? The one in JP6 don't have Portuguese language..

Are you sure that the kernel is being flashed by Redbend?
Because I could not get multiple file flash working.
Redbend executes reboot after the first file is programmed successfully.

---------------- How to install it -------------------
1) If you have a lagfix, disable it
2) wipe data/cache/dalvik
3) install zip from sdcard (from ClockWorkMod recovery)
3a) if something wrong happen (because kernels < K9 are a little incompatible with K9) i advice to you to install JM8 or JM9 (rom eclair) with pit512 and re-partition flagged in Odin, then flash official JP5 with pit803 without re-partition always from Odin. At this point, flash SpeedMod K9 you prefer (as long as K9) from Odin as PDA. So, wipe data and cache, and proceed as described at point 3)...
4) adviced but not needed another wipe data/cache
5) reboot
You can follow also that procedure (thx to cosmic76 for posting and Kalpik for creating it): ALTERNATIVE PROCEDURE WITHOUT ODIN

WOw another italian ROM....Great job!!!

I really wanted a vanilla ROM to play with. Is this IT? A request, if you could add ALL the providers for India in the APN list, that would make it perfect for me. So many ROMS say they have this HUGE APN LIST. They just contain ONE provider for india, Reliance. They have even left out the national carrier, BSNL.

You tried the ROM, if something is missing for you, just change ROMs instead of whining.. The dev puts his time into it and customizes a ROM for YOU to make your phone work faster..
Atleast you could thank him a bit, no matter what..

making a rom that is slower then stock , no google services , no swype etc while not mentioning it and making me use up to 2 hours of flashing to get to a good rom again is not something to thank someone for tbh....

Installing is an option/possibility and not a must!
In my opinion if you have some logs than let it know to BEZKE and he can decide if the app will be added or not. Help him instead of complaining and whining.
Help the developer to get the ROM better and better.
Please let the others decide if this ROM is OK for them or not.
If you tried it than I guess that the "other ROM" was not enough for you, go to an other ROM's topic and let give a try to that if it doesn't fit you...

2) Why do you advise me the bootloader version? is safe?
For those who pass for the first time from Frøya to Ginger is a must with the bootloader version. In fact if you flash a version without the bootloader, you will have the graphical glitch (colored striped screen) during boot and beyond.
This bug/problem is due to the fact that you are using a bootloader old and need updating.
This does not prelude the possibility of returning to Froyo and / or ginger. only updates the bootloader.
In addition, the version I posted is absolutely secure.
4) Hi, there is a video on YouTube that explains how to instll the rom?

5) The control-power does not work
Just put the widget on the home is gray, but if you try to activate the Wifi for example, the widget works then. Or just do a reboot with the power control in the home and after a reboot it works

Ive been wanting to try out an i9000 ginger rom now that we have a compatible kernel on the captivate. I think ill try this out first! Ill let you know here at the end of the day.

Hi..just flashed will let you know i come across antyhing...Fast and smooth for now. I observed that after flashing, I dont have to manually select reboot now. It just reboots. Is this because of the kernel or the ROM??
