Call Record Voice - Bada Software and Hacking General

New feature is available on KC1 and KC2 firmware it's "Record Voice" during call.
It allows to record a call, could be necessary
Just tested on KC1 and KC2 firmwares, not tested before
Edit the ShpCSCFeature.ini file in SystemFS/Settings/PreConfiguration/Default(or copy/past to your region code, for example XEF for France)/Registry
Add this following line:
SHP_CSC_FEATURE_RECORD_VOICE=1
{

And you will have this during call

nice find buddy. this feature was available in old DDJE7 firmware but samsung removes it in future updates.

will it be working in every firware (for example JK1) or only in KC1, KC2 and JE7?

Not at all, this is only possible firmware for those countries where the voice recording does not contradict the laws. Firmware KC1 and KC2 is Bada 1.2 for Russia and after the preconfiguration to SER (Russia), voice recording becomes available. This method avoids the preconfiguration. All this should be so, but the exact list of firmware will only check for each.
On my wave with JK1 firmware it does not work

I have KC1 firmware, I custom it for having XEF for france and call recording work in france even if this region code is not available on KC1 firmware

It does not work on European JL2. I am trying to hack my custom firmware for days now to get this feature running for Germany (DBT), but it is blocked somewhere else. I guess by a file from amss or rc1/rc2, which we are not able to open.

I'm thinking ShpCSCFeature.ini is only Info file.
There are several other SHP_CSC_FEATURE_xxx Strings possible.
Tested 1 here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13079793&postcount=83
apps_compressed.bin is the file...
I can't do further tests as my Testdevice has no active SIM...
Record menu seems first after Call connection to be available...
Best Regards

Exactly, that is what I am saying. Changing the ShpCSCFeature.ini is NOT enough. It has to do with limitations on amss, apps_compressed or rc1/rc2. That sucks.

If you take the RC1 file from KC1 firmware, the call record is already inside, you just have to activate it.
And you can activate for every code region you want.
Basicaly, the call record is only available for SER on KC1 firmware.
I use it with a XEF (custom) CSC

Hi
I am new in bada.I had diamond for more than 2 years.
I dont know how i could open .ini file or go to settings.
Call recording is my favorite file and i used in diamond.
Tnx for your help.

Jomadeto, a spanish user from badaspain forum, has modified the JL2 FOP Firmware with SHP and Voice Call recording.

You can try the same method to make it work with your firmwares...

Could someone upload only the RC1 file from the KC1 firmware? I can't download the whole firmware now due to bandwidth limitation. *SUCKS*

Here is the RC1 from KC1

Thanks a lot

It seems that even using the Rc1 file from KC1 and adding that line of code to ShpCscFeature.ini in SystemFS>Settings>Preconfiguration>Default>Registry, it doesnt work.

I live in India and use the modified XXJL2 (with Social Hub Premium - Wave I), and this hack did not work for me.

This method works only with S8500XE firmwares.

The Record Voice feature is not in RC1 file nor in any other file except in the apps_compressed.bin file.
So to have this service in your phone, you need to flash your current phone with the apps_compressed.bin file from any firmware that has the Record Voice feature. After flashing, you can now edit the ShpCscFeature.ini in SystemFS>Settings>Preconfiguration>Default>Registry. NOTE: Remember to go to admin mode and reinstall your csc after editing.
Use multiloader and flash ONLY the apps_compressed.bin (No need to flash all files). For XXJL2 firmwares, use the apps_compressed.bin file from the S8500XEKC1 (Slav)firmware. For Asia bada 1.2, use the apps_compressed.bin file from S8500JVKC1 (Turkey) firmware.

thanks for the hint, but that procedure kills/changes your menu entries, for example "settings" is called then "elements" or "system" becomes "gestures", which is another menu entry, actually. they are still working, but something is running wrong then.
I have used the S8500XXJL2 with the apps_compressed.bin from S8500XEKC1.

@spacks
Can you please upload the apps_compressed.bin from the turkey firmware?
Thanks.

New 2.1 Firmware (HK) ZSJH2

Just connect the phone to Kies and you will find the update if your phone is HK version.
Not sure what's the update about, given 2.2 will be officially released soon.
The good thing is, heard from forum that using KIES update will keep your existing setting and all apps are kept.
Does anyone know what's the update about? Is it going to fix the unstable issue with 3 in Hong Kong?

yes, how can i decrypt the .ENC file
Its not so trivial without a specific tool. During KIES install you can snitch the files out of temp directory anyway. The above info is handy for various people for various things, they do the work and you get the goods

Use the attached executable, I have written using the kies dlls to decode, provided you have the encrypt string , kies [ kies is installed means .NET is already install] installed on your machine.
I have tested it on Windows 7, let me know if if face any problem in running.
Usage:
Extract in any directory, run from command line with .enc file as first parameter and encrypt string as second parameter, the .zip file will be created in same directory.
Nice work Pramods

Its returned to KIES from Samsung's FUS server, you can just monitor the packets to get the KIES transaction to and from the server.
Using a Windows hosts file entry its possible to install any FW on their server (JG4/JM1/JH1 etc) via KIES anytime with a few simple php files, so long as you have the CRC/ENCRYPTSTRING and file path.

Yeah, KIES sends your current PDA/CSC/MODEM/CONTENTS versions to Samsungs FUS, which replies with XML which is either "bad luck no update for u!" or the updates URL, encrypt string, crc and other informations. You get this only when you provide to the FUS the information/versions it knows that are set to be allowed to update to a particular FW. So in the case of JPC/XX/XEU update, for a while FUS responded with that update from a generic JF3 request.

interesting things to wifi-direct

think there are interesting features to modify parameters. But leave it to the experts if it is valid or not. (Firmware : S8500XXLA1/S8500FOPLA1)

NV_SI_WDIRECT_SETTING_ACTIVATION=

But I think this file is generated during installation, it must take informations on others files.

Anyway I think WifiDirect is software thing.
Maybe we should check both S8600, Wave M/Y and S8500's .so files controlling Wifi.
Perhaps if we find the .so files we have a chance.
Saludos!
It's what I think too.
All this option activate the wifi direct but the menu does not propose wifi direct.
If we could modify and watch the .so files, I think we could display the wifi direct option.
That's what I'm talking about. From S8600.

Maybe in rbm files in Rsrc_S8500_Open_Europe_Common\System\Rsrc\Bmp\Black

I'm using FileSeek to quickly find strings inside every file of the firm.
We could isolate files containing the correct string and compare in both Wave I and Wave III firms.
Mostly, I have only found references to Wifi Direct in .so files and apps_compressed.bin
It could be a beginning, ain't it?

I've tested a method instead of wifi direct on a galaxy ace and it worked
but there is some problems with wave (which i think its the dolphins problem)
what i've done
we have 2 handsets
1- start Mobile AP on handset 1
2- connect to this AP from handset 2
3- start a wifi file sharing app (like "downloader manager" in bada) on handset 2
4- enter the ip address given by file sharing app to handset 1's internet browser
now you can see all files of handset 2
I think it's dolphins fault cuz i've test a wave 2 and a galaxy ace
when galaxy ace wants to connect me there's no problem
when i want to connect it says "Requested URL not available"
so please someone test with another browser like Voluntas
If you see it so then we had wifi direct since bada 1.0
See this app : http://www.samsungapps.com/topApps/topAppsDetail.as?productId=G00000487533
Sorry because it is paid one
Best Regards
yes it's like the one i said
but i think you didnt understand the problem
when we enter this ip and port to another bada phone on the same network, nothing will be opened but it is ok via pc browsers
so is the problem for dolphin?
WiFi Direct App
There's an bada app used for demonstration of WiFi Direct feature, found source somewhere, can't remember. Here's the source code, if someone has the time feel free to try. It's just the matter of compiling the app with bada SDK.

[Q] How to change CSC code?

Hi guys, I have downloaded a firmware from sammobile.com. But the problem is, my country CSC's code is XME. But the firmware I have downloaded is in XXV code. I have already tried changing from XXV to XME using CSC code changer or Play Store Galaxy S CSC code changer but no luck. Phone already rooted. Any help? (After install and reboot the phone I check again it still shows CSC as XXV)

CSC changer, does not work for me.
Hi, I have found a way to change CSC code already. Just follow my method, because it works on my Galaxy Grand :good:
1. You must check whether if your ROM support your country's CSC. For example, mine is XME.
2. Then make sure you have prepared the Firmware which contains your country's CSC and your phone is rooted with the CSC which is not your country. For example XXV. (You can check with the CSC Changer).
3. Use any File Explorer with Root access (eg: ES File Explorer) browse through /efs/imei/mps_code.dat. Open it using text editor and edit to your country's CSC and save. Again, go to /system/csc/sales_code.dat change it again.
4. Reset the bin counter to 0 using Triangle Away if necessary. (You can also skip it)
5. Reboot your phone into download mode and flash the stock ROM again.
6. After ODIN has done flashing go in to recovery to check whether your have applied your country's CSC. You will see a text like: "Applied Multi-CSC: XME"
Hope that helps.
try this:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manniakk.cscselector&hl=en
It worked for me. As with any CSC changer it will reset your phone....
It NOT works in my phone When I try change Again, go to /system/csc/sales_code.dat change it again. phone display info: Error occurred when trying to save the file. It will not be saved.
but when check my CSC by CSC Changer it show me XEO not TPH, because I could change CSC code in /efs/imei/mps_code.dat. Why I can't change TPH to XEO in /system/csc/sales_code.dat? Kies still show TPH.

Question Call recording

Hi all,
has anyone found how to enable (if possible) native call recording (maybe changing CSC)?
Follow these steps to record calls,
Step 1: Open the Phone app.
Step 2: Next click the 3-dot menu on the top right corner.
Step 3: Tap on Settings
Step 4: Tap on Record calls
Step 5: Finally, tap on Auto record calls and click the switch to turn it on.
Now to select more options, you can tap on the Auto record calls option and select the recording option. You can either select auto-record-calls or All calls: To record calls for all numbers.

exactly, Now I own an A51 (italian firmware) but I had to switch to Thailand CSC in order to enable call recording feature.
i saw that in Italy we have the SM-G990B version, and in Thailand (which should be one of the countries with no problems in call recordings and Samsung pay working) SM-G990E.
Does anyone know if there could be issues in flashing G990E CSC on a G990B device? (they have the same version of the bootloader: 1 )

Italy SM-G990B, SNAPDRAGON.
Thailand model, SM-G990E, EXYNOS.
No possible...
If you want to try then Russia or Kaszkhstan csc both are available for g990b, I am gonna try this weekend samkey csc change to both wether one of them has call recording feature by default. Both countries are in the list where call recording is allowed.
Thank you....finally I bought M52 5g (wih snapdragon 778g chipset, therefore good performances and stamina)

Please let us know how does it go
Bad news, niether of two worked the way I imagine...
I had only two credits so tried both and now staying at SER csc.
Hopefully some workaround will be there soon

Tell me what a diefference? KNOX or what?
Simply never changed csc by odin, only full flash. What is the procedure ?
Well, I doubt that Georgian FW has the call recorder, anyway I had two options, S22 Ultra or S21 FE, both are without asian firmwares(SM-S990B or SM-S908B), only meant for EU countries, just Kazakhstan, Georgia and in case of S21FE Russia.
For example S21 Ultra SM-G998B has plenty of Asian CSCs, so flash with odin or quick change with samkey would do the magic.
Knowing the answer already but, is there chance to flash firmware from SM-S990E (exynos) without destroing phone ? Knox would be compromised too right ?
I simply have to accept to live without call recording, none of the apk are working with A12, the only way is to root the device and maybe I will take it into consideration.

Call recording Native SM-G990B
Hello Guys, thanks to efkosk in S22 Ultra thread I tried to change my CSC to SEK (Ukraine) again via SamKey. Native recording is available :) I don´t care about other functionalities like Pay or anything similar, so result may be working call...
