Official Froyo ROM 2.2.2 (Australia Optus) - Defy General

Been using this ROM since yesterday(received via OTA). Rooted, removed bloats, changed carrier boot animation and been tweaking stuffs, and it's pretty much stable and fast. The only problem I encountered so far was the constant drop of wi-fi connection but managed to fix it by changing my router settings to TKIP encryption. Still observing if the problem is gone for good.

so gooooooood

Where to download this rom? Do I can flash it, if I have now http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1037076 , flashed without SBF fix etc..?

Do you have 720p filming option?

You can flash this if you're on another froyo rom. I'm using the latest leaked(3.4.2-177_Nordic) prior to this rom.
Still no HD(720p) recording.
Tested no more wifi disconnect, TKIP encryption solved the issue.
Will share the nandroid tomorrow. Good night.

Here you go, for those who want to try Official Froyo 2.2.2.
Download link: http://www.multiupload.com/GBN7ZZL8J2
If you're another froyo rom such as nordic you can restore the nandroid directly(via custom recovery; extract the zip file and transfer to sdcard)
All carrier bloats removed including:
Optus App Store, Games, Navi, Music, TV
Revert to stock bootanimation without the carrier logo.
Removed Optus bookmarks and homepage.
Added cyanogen APN list(since the rom defaults to Optus APN which is unusable in other country)

when do you guys think the US version will be released?

Froyo 2.2 ? Gingerbread
Will this work on the Optus MyTab ZTE V9 and the telstra touch tablet ?
Is there an " official site" to get it from ?
WHo what is OTA ?

Nice! Looks like official 2.2's are starting to roll out, and it's rootable
I wonder when they're gonna push out the UK one for unlocked handsets without a provider

@JakDac OTA stands for over the air, this is the system that most carriers use to push updates to their customers' handsets.
No, this ROM will not work for either of the tablets, as the ROM is for the Defy and will only work with a defy.

Same here mate, i am a little confused by that as i thought it would have been the easiest version to roll out and i mean for all regions not just the UK.

Is it possible to downgrade from this version?

I have a Virgin card - update go?
whether the updates are assigned to the IMEI?
sorry for the English - and I use trans

After flashing this rom you could back to any froyo rom(like the Nordic version) but not eclair.

assuming you're still on eclair you could flash the Australia Optus ROM from this site http://and-developers.com/sbf:defy and then manually update to froyo(settings>about phone>check for updates)

Issues since upgrading....
Hi folks,
Apologies in advance for any dumb questions.
Got my 1st Adroid phone, the Defy last Thursday. Spent the weekend getting it up and running and everything was perfect -fast, responsive, no wi-fi issues... all good.
Applied the suggested system update (34.145.12.MB525.Optus.en.AU) yesterday morning and since then have been having probs with very slow GUI response - even worse if wi-fi is activated....
Any suggestions?
I don't mind rolling back - but don't actually know how.... any links/pointers?
Cheers,
Chris

Not sure how to make it faster, i used that rom for a while and didn't have any problems, maybe try a factory reset.
if you want to downgrade to your stock rom there is a guide on this site forum.lowyat.net/topic/1557573 under Fixed SBF for Downgrade-ability from Undowngrade-ability but you need a back up a 2.51 rom and once you get it to a 2.51 rom then you can restore it back to your stock rom.

Which one is defy OFFICIAL Froyo 2.2?

With so many wonderful ROM around, it is just hard to pick...
However, I have one question....
Which firmware BESIDES Chinese 2.21 is the "OFFICIAL" firmware?
Well, there is no official ROM
Anyway, you can also try the new Finnland ROM. It has a higher build number (145).

I notice only China has official released firmware sbf, but rest are from "leak" firmware right?
Does that mean, "officially" only China got 2.2?
From the bugs that I read about in several forums and threads, I'd rather call it an open beta, than an official release
But you're right. There is no other official release, yet.
tks for your answer...
I was hoping.....
official upgrade Schedule

The official schedule shows no DEFY for the US at all, but there was a Tmo US leak a little while back so it seems that it is being worked on.

There is oficial 2.2 other than chinese, brazilian Claro carrier have 2.2 defy, never tried but heard it doesnt have google apps, scary
Anyways, Claro has exclusivity on defy here, but somehow TIM also has defy for sale with 2.1 (clearly obtained throug Claro) but the point is, how is it going to work out for TIM users if motorola "thinks" only Claro is selling defy here, are we gona use Claro update? are we gona be left out? hehe pretty messy.

[stock rom][2.3.6][MULTI-LANG] P1000XWJQ8_P1000PHNJQ1_P1000XXJPZ

Hi friends,
if you want "the latest" stock firmware (2.3.6) for you device,
just check through fus check here
There are several sale codes available now (1st Feb. 2012)
DBT, o2 Germany, Dutch, GB, ....
so have a look there, ok??!
It is for P1000 GSM/3G only!
From what I have seen, it is fully multi-language ROM.
XX = de,en,es,fr,hu,it,nl,pt(cs,da,el,fi,no,pl,sl,sv,tr) languages
It is amazing fast, stable and has the same new lock screen like JQ3/JQ4.
It has new keyboard layout (=anyhow new to me!) and no bugs or soft reboots so far.

3G works like a charme. 3.2 mbit down- and 1.4 mbit upload rate.
Calls in 3G perform perfect. Everybody can hear each other loud and clearly with and without bt headset.
By the way: BT works as it should with my plantronics bt headset.
Wifi (5 GHz und 2.4GHz band both) perform fine.
GPS fix is fast as out of nowhere. Impressive.
Camera is bugfree, video recording works as it alway did - perfect.
Energy consumption seems to be normal to long lasting but I will watch over the weekend and can report proper test experiences earliest on next Monday.
ehm, stupid question, but can I install this on a not-rooted device?
Starting from a BOCA 2.3.7 rom, I successfully flashed this one:
- restocking via Odin with the safe GB rom provided by Team Overcome; and then
- flashing via Odin the TAR file.
I'm just trying to cope with the keyboard: the tab standard keyboard does not seem to work (every letter is displayed as "null") and swype is not installed. I will try wil a different one...
Thanks for sharing and download link.. I just installed Overcame 4.0.0 a few days ago and it's working very nice and now this.. (I hate to install on Tab every little bit something, but my Galaxy S - is different story )
Anyway thanks again for link..

Desire Z stock ROM - European languages

Hi all,
I found here only English/American original stock ROM for Desire Z. All PC10IMG.zips were only English but I'm looking for original stock ROM with European languages (Deutsch, Slovak, Czech, Denmark, Poland....) . Can you please transfer me somewhere where I can find/dwnld this original Euro-stock ROM? GingerBread or Froyo, it doesn't matter, but ORIGINAL and with EUROPEAN languages.
Thank you very much good people!
I used to apply appr. 8-10 ROMs but it was allways from T-Mobile G2, where is only English language available. I need concretely SLOVAK language :crying: It's for my wife you know....
search "shipped roms vision"

Thank you very much. I'm downloading RUU_Vision... files one by one from http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Vision and trying to update my phone, but without success, it say that I have not correct version of RUU for update....but I don't know which RUU is OK for me, that's why I'm dwnldng one by one. I tried 3 RUU and next 3 are downloading....we will see.... It's so complicated - why the didn't released only 3 basic RUU for America, Europe and Asia and everuything else colud be based on updates from Android...
UPDATE: I tried 8-9 RRU .exe files but with the same error:

I you trying to return to stock/unroot/s-on?
I notted I your other post that if you don't what to do that then you should flash a custom recovery and change to the enghboot. then just flash a rom that includes your languge. most cyanogen based roms should have it
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
Yes but I cannot find the ROM which contains my language (SLOVAK) . That's the problem. All ROMs that I found and tried (almost 10) were only English or Espanol language and 99% of theme were from T-Mobile UK. And that ROM contains only English language or Espanol language in choice ;-(
And also - original version of Android in this Desire Z was 2.2.x or something like that and main down toolbar looks like this:
and now is version higher 2.3.4 , but I cannot modify that crazy toolbar down:
So that's other point - previous riginal Android (maybe Froyo, Maybe GB I don't know had much-much better look and more user-friendly settings). I can not understand why is so difficult to find that original PC10IMG.zip Really crazy with these HTC's
Have you tried this ROM:
RUU_Vision_Gingerbread_S_HTC_WWE_2.42.405.2_Radio_12.56.60.25_26.10.04.03_M_release_199043_signed
This should be the latest RUU for the EU (contains slovak language).
EDIT: But you will lose root if you flash this...
both google and xda have excellent serch features
MIMICRY is an excellent rom choice that most would consider far superior over stock, and it has your language. this would be an option if you would like to keep root and have far more options than stock
the reason the launcher looks different is because the desire z had sense on it initially. if you would like sense try THIS ONE
pretty much it may be unsafe for you to attempt flashing a PC10IMG.zip of your stock rom, there is potential for a brick. if you must, then it may be best to unroot/s-on first and then flash. there are guides on how to do this but make sure you are flashing the right setup for your phone (containing slovak) should be a WWE world wide edition
but again, if you would like to keep the benefits of a rooted phone you should change you hboot and add a custom recovery, the above roms should have your language and still keep the benefits. choice is yours, search some more and youll be bound to find what you need... the above took me less than two minuets
Ufffffff, finaly it looks working  Thank you guys for explanations. RUU_Vision_Gingerbread_S_HTC_WWE_2.42.405.2_Radio_ 12.56.60.25_26.10.04.03_M_release_199043_signed - one of the last choices in the list.... As I saw some threads, some gyus has rebooting problems with this version, but it's up appr. 20 minutes and there was no unexpected reboot. Euro-Languages are there, so perfect :good: I quickly set only pure 2G network mode and disabled Software Updates. Yupiiiiiiiiii !!!
Shared_ptr - thank you for choosing right file. We are from the same city
Demkantor - I saw Mimicry post, it looks perfect. Unfortunately this phone was for my wife and she needs to have everything than before You know, icon of quick calling to her father in right upper corner and so on... In menu is something new or does it look somehow different? Uaaaaaa!!! Hell on earth ! That's why I searched for origonal FroYo with it's....how to say it....probably "look"

I would not recommend Mimicry ROM for your wife (although I would recommend it for you). The ROM is awesome, but it is not 100% stable yet. Some minor bugs (random graphic glitches in the first place) can be very disappointing for an average user. Also, an average user will not appreciate the advantages of this ROM. No disrespect to your wife, but I would not install this ROM to my girlfriend’s phone. She can be really annoying if her phone is not 100% working
If you want to try something else than Sense ROM from HTC, than try the official CyanogenMod 7.2
For our wifes/girlfriends - only original !

[Q] Issues after Updating to 3.X.X firmware for Android 4.4> ROMS

Hello All,
About a month ago i have updated my Phone's frimware to 3.X.X speficied by Rom Devs like Viper ROM, Following Viper Rom's Steps i had to S-OFF My phone in the process as well as SUPER CID it.
Ever since Updating to the new firmware, my phone has emitted these symptoms listed bellow (Note, this is a generalization on all Android 4.4 ROMS and Lillipop ROMs i have used)
-Battery Life has been significantly reduced and phone heats up to warm tempretures.
-Phone radio continues to drop off and Data connectivity continues to become unreliable. (Both on 3g and LTE) *ive been using Optus (Australian Carrier) and now i am in Malaysia for the next few months i am now with Celcom)
-Random Reboots and Freezing
-Major Lag, reboot of phone SOMETIMES refreshes the speed *Diagnosis steps ive attempted was via dev settings limitting processes, Rom tweaking and kernals

If you're s-off, have you tried to use the RUU for 3.xx firmware (posted somewhere here) and see whether there's any issue?
If you said that battery life gets affected drastically and the phone heats up could be due to weak mobile signal and the phone is trying very hard to connect to your carrier. Have you tried manually searching and connecting to your carrier?
have you checked your CPU settings as they may have been running at full speed due to a rogue app?
There are a lot of possibilities to this but honestly I would recommend you to backup your data and use a RUU to go back to stock and see how the device fares...
Check whether rcdata for EU region was flashed before.
It's best to use Asia rcdata.img for Asia region

Hello Bobbi, thanks for your reply,
I have tried refreshing another firmware about a week ago and it made no difference to the situation,
Thanks for the fact about the car usage and network and how it may conflict, I don't believe that is the issue, normally I am on full bars of network and issues like lag occurs still and data connectivity is an issue I don't believe it is a rogue app, as it still large even when I clean out the multi-task drawer.

Think you are right about the radio. I'd be interested to have a look at your stock system image.
Hoping to get VOLTE working on Leedroid 10...
I had did have the toggle for VOLTE in call options, but since I reflashed it disappeared - I remember when I first flashed LeeDrOiD 10, I didn't have the option for VOLTE. Thought I was going insane when I looked and saw it there, ,but still the toggle made no difference the phone still reverted back to 3g when I made calls.

Cool, I'm on Viper for now. Got options to select volte, and icon shows but not sure it's actually working. I've debranded to wwe firmware, so almost certain it's not working. Guess I'll PM you a link once I upload it.

Hi Guys,
I've come from a Telstra Z5 with great reception to a HTC 10 (s-off) with almost no reception inside the house.
Baseband: [email protected]_64.07_f
Has anyone tried different radios and if so what were the results?

I am running the same baseband as you and also find that I have poor reception on Telstra. Compared to my Samsung Galaxy S5 this phone is pathetic.
