Here is the secret: HARD WORK .
You draw the images with photoshop or gimp by hand, make an adjust for the next photo and save them until you have the desired animation.

(MOD) Knight Rider Boot Animation

Hi All,
First of all I would like to thank to this tread for the great update for our SGS
I was keep my eyes open in almost every day for the update on our SGS
and if this tread is in the wrong section / room please accept my apologize since I am a new here
This was inspired by my love to the knight rider movie ... and after several days searching everywhere I couldn't find the site or link which is related to this, so I am start to learn how to create the own boot animation
and after some trial and error I found the way to make it .. and this the result
okey ... now we move to the point
This boot animation is based to the knight rider movie 2008 (mustang shelby GT500R)
there is three different images and loop for the sequence.
and these bootanimation is rotated due to the source images orientation.
First sequence will shown the intro (looped 1 time)
the images is shown bellow
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
second one will shown the KITT attack mode transformation (looped twice)
the images is shown bellow
and the last sequence is just the KNIGHT RIDER wording (looped 3 times)
the images is shown bellow
to instal it is easy ;
- make sure your phone is root (I am sure most of the custom rom user will rooted by default)
- using root explorer (you can get this for free in the market)
- navigate to \system\media
- do a backup on the current bootanimation.zip (you can simply rename this file to another) just incase you not like mine so you can revert to the one that you already have
- afterwards paste the file to this directory
- do a reboot and see the KITT in action
if you need a custom bootanimation, I can make it for you
just give me the movie / images sequence and let me know your device type
note : make sure you rename the attached file first to bootanimation.zip
please give a try and hit me with your feedback

[GUIDE]Make your own bootanimation for galaxy y

HI my friends having a galaxy y and still using others or stock boot animation.:crying:
Now this guide would help you in making your own custom boot animation.:cyclops:
what you need is:
A computer
GIMP
Boot animation creator
Some basic computer skills.
What you need to do is:
Download GIMP from here
Download Boot animation creator from here (credits go to despotovski01)
Download necessary files from below and extract the zip to get the two files (samsungani and bootanimation)
Procedure:
Firstly, make a folder and name it bootanimation. Open that folder and create two folders inside it and name them part1 and part0. Part0 would contain frames that would not repeat in loops. Part1 would contain frames that will loop.
Now open GIMP and select the sheet size to 240x320 pixels.

"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Lets start with animation frames:
They should be similar looking pictures that change little by little so that it really looks like animation.
Start with black background color and then save it by going to file>save as and then save it as a .png image by selecting extension option in gimp. like this
now edit that frame little bit like i have done below
Make about 100-150 such drawings(actually frames)
Now rename all of these one by one like- 1,11,21,31,41,51......
You should make about 200 - 250 such frames if you want a nice boot animation.
And then paste all of these in part0 folder not in part1.
Paste frames in part1 which you want to repeat...
Now open Boot animation creator.
It will prompt you to choose a folder. choose bootanimation folder containing part1 and part0.
Now put in some extra setting options etc. This program would make a zip for you.
Put that zip in system/media using root explorer.
And put the other two files "samsungani" and "bootanimation" in system/bin using root explorer.
Now reboot to test if it works or not.:good:
PRESS THANKS BUTTON IF I HELPED YOU, ITS FREE!!
=======================RESERVED===============================
hey good tut
minimum 100 will not be enough, bootanimation will only be played for 3 seconds, i think minimum should be 250 it wipl be played for 8 seconds with the default setting
thanks for your kind gesture. i have edited my post.
Good tutorial.........

My pleasure.:victory:
nice thread bro!
I've been try to make my own bootanim, and it's works

Cyan Nexus .qmg bootanimation files

For Samsung Galaxy Note 3
I've taken the liberty of creating the .qmg version of the cyan nexus boot animation since Samsung decided to pull a douche bag move by creating their own boot animation setup. It is very cumbersome, to say the least, to get custom boot animations without the standard "bootanimation.zip". The stock boot animation annoys me with the bright white Verizon splash in it.
Keep in mind these are based off the original so it will be stretched (and a tad grainy) to fit the Note 3's resolution. I've had to edit each and every individual frame in Photoshop to give it a 16:9 aspect ratio so that it doesn't become distorted and stretched out of it's proper parameters. It's not completely awful but it's not super crisp either. Now that I've figured out how to do it I'll be moving on to boot animations made for higher resolution phones so they look crisp. But this is the first time converting one for me.
1. First and foremost obviously you must be rooted and have root explorer.
2. Download and extract the zip in the attachments to your phone or push them through from the computer. It contains the 2 files needed for a bootanimation.
3. It is also always good practice to backup your phone in safestrap made possible by Hascode, MANY thanks for that.
4. Once you have everything, open root explorer and navigate to system/media and backup two files "bootsamsung.qmg" AND "bootsamsungloop.qmg".
5. After backing them up to another location on your internal or external storage, delete them from system/media and replace them with the 2 files that you extracted from the zip. Reboot and enjoy a non-stock Verizon-Free bootanimation.
Of course this is at your own risk, but it worked for me.
Download zip HERE

[TUTORIAL] Bootanimation creating and porting guide

As a request from some XDA members I made this guide,
so if you made a bootanimation using this method share it with us here.
what you need to get started
For Creating a Bootanimation :
Winrar/7zip
Notepad
An Editing software – I Use photoshop
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
So Bootanimation is simply a collection of .png/.jpg pictures Stored into a zip file.
If you opened a bootanimation.zip you’ll find this :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And sometimes there’s another folder there “part2”
folders like part0, part1, etc... Store .png/.jpg pictures of the Bootnaimation
the desc.txt file contains all the necessary info like resolution fps, etc …
As you can see in the image :
The Resolution
The FPS (Frame per second) “the higher the faster” normal should be 24fps or 30fps
A pointer to look at new commands
Specifies the number of times this section will play ( 0 means infinite)
Defines pause in seconds before repeating or moving to the next line (0 means no pause)
Names of folder that contain your .png/.jpg files
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Notion : Usually, part0 is The Beginning animation, part1 is The Loop animation and part2 is Shutdown animation.
Let’s start by creating a Simple Bootanimation :
Create a folder and name it “bootanimation”
Create another folder inside the previous one and name it “part0”
Now it's time for you to start creating your own one, for a simple beginning, using Photoshop, create black image with the resolution of 400*800
Save it as a PNG and Name it 000.png
Now (in Photoshop) add a layer over the black image and set opacity to 10%
And again Save it as a PNG and Name it 001.png
Keep doing this till you reach 100% opacity
Now create another folder inside botanimation\ and name it part1 (here you’ll do the loop animation)
Keep creating images inside this folder (use your mind )
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
When you finish that.. it’s time to create the desc.txt file :
Open notepad and type this
Code:
480 800 24
p 1 0 part0
p 0 0 part1
Save it to this directory bootanimation\ (not inside part0 folder)
Now compress them using winrar into a zip file
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Important : SET COMPRESSION METHOD TO STORE or else your bootanimation won’t work
Congratulations! you just made your own bootanimation.. Remember to share it with us
For Porting a Bootanimation :
coming soon..
Thanks for the thread
