Android on HTC Touch Pro Problem - Touch Pro, Fuze Android Development

Hi,
I want to install Android on my HTC Touch Pro and I want to also do that Dual Boot program. Problem is that I can't get android to work.
I downloaded Android, and it is not installing well. After I boot, the top bar of the Android comes, but it seems all grainy, and my mobile restarts :/ I tried changing to a different RAPH startup.txt, but it just crashes in the middle -.-

Any ideas anybody?!

Don't try changing to a different startup.txt! Make sure you're using the right file for your phone model. You could also try simply redownloading XDANDROID.

Which RAPH do you have?
Perhaps you need to read the FAQ.
Also, 1) don't take huge pics and post them to a thread - resize them and provide links if anything, although the pics seem useless TBH. 2) post in the build thread, don't create a new thread. Thanks.

@Ben_duder
I downloaded so many lol
@arrrgh
Thanks for that FAQ page, I know I have a RAPH100 now
1. Didn't notice how big they were until I posted them
2. Link to thread pls
Thanks for the help till now every1
EDIT: My download doesn't have RAPH100, but RAPH, RAPH500 and RAPH800 -.-
Is RAPH equivilant to RAPH100?
EDIT2: Ok, so i finally got a RAPH100 one, and it was installing. The last message was 'mp_dma : busy'
It kept on going after a bit, until screen calibration, i didn't even have the time to calibrate, as it kept on going.
Only to get 'stuck' on mp_dma : busy...again
Whilst writing this, it started again....only to get 'stuck'.....AGAIN...on mp_dma : busy....AGAIN!!
Is it normally like that? Does this site have live shat or smthn? Or can some1 PM their MSN/Skype so I can have 'live help' lol

Yes, it is "normal". What shouldn't be normal is the fact that you can't find the RAPH100 startup in the full bundle from THIS thread(for FroYo) or THIS thread (for Gingerbread). Keep in mind, FroYo is more complete and Gingerbread is still in alpha stages even though it seems more "stable" than FroYo.
Additionally, if you just want to be able to boot, the magic number we are looking for is 10 minutes. However, if you aren't getting to the XDAndroid boot animation, this might mean you aren't doing something right. Also, you'll need to grab the ts-calibration file for your device from either thread and put it in the same folder as haret

Hmm, I seem to have got it to work. It look me around 10 minutes to complete It seems ok (I downloaded the new XDAndroid from the official Wiki page). All works fine, incl. camera and Wi-Fi.
Now, I want to do the dual Boot thing. I have the exe downloaded, but now its a new set of CAB and EXT files. I'm going to opt for what seemes to be the newer version (v 1.0.6.0) but when i extract that and open a the file, I get 5 new files
Gen.Y DualBOOT QVGA v1.0.6.0 - Storage Card.cab
Gen.Y DualBOOT VGA v1.0.6.0 - Internal Storage.cab
Gen.Y DualBOOT VGA v1.0.6.0 - Storage Card.cab
Gen.Y DualBOOT WQVGA v1.0.6.0 - Storage Card.cab
Gen.Y DualBOOT WVGA v1.0.6.0 - Storage Card.cab
no idea what to do next.

If you have a RAPH100 use Gen.Y DualBOOT VGA v1.0.6.0 - Storage Card.cab. If you have a DIAM100 use Gen.Y DualBOOT VGA v1.0.6.0 - Internal Storage.cab
NOTE/hint
One installs to internal storage/soldered microSD and the other installs to the storage card/microSD

Yeh i'll do that.
And I understood the Internal Storage and Storage card bit.
Also, I seem to get A LOT of lag when I play a game, is it normal? Probs coz the phone ain't too power full maybe

I did it, and it works well, it just tells me Android missing :S :S

Is haret in anything other than the root of the microSD? If not, it won't pick it up. There is a trick to get it to recognize the build in something other than the root of the microSD but you'll need to check in that thread where you got the dualboot program.

Yea the dualboot program is really a WinMo issue. You need to set the registry entry for it to work correctly.
But since it's not an Android or even an XDAndroid issue, I'd prefer you to post Gen.Y related questions in the correct section of the forum. Thanks.

@R^7Z
Haret is in Storage Card/bootand. And I forgot where I got the dualboot program though lol.
@arrrghhh
First of all, I'll thank you yest, as I'm restricted to 5 per day.
Also, link to where I can find this thread/section.
Thanks for all the help guys

In short if you want to use that program, you will need to visit the thread where you got the dualboot program from OR push everything up a level. In other words, cut and paste everything under the andboot folder to the root of the microSD and it should work like a charm, my friend!

What was the reason they told us to do an andboot folder then?

Well aside from "organization", not much else
I honestly only run one build because it is my preference to do so. Most who know what they are doing (or at least more than I do), use the rel_path=andboot option. "6 one way, half a dozen the other" is what I say.

Well, apart from the fact that I understood NOTHING from that previous post, I want to say that it worked like a charm I cut all the files in the andbooot file to the right place, and what do you know, it worked!
I have a tiny thing to ask you guys Its laggy, and I mean VERY laggy. When i play games, like Angry Birds and such, it jumps, makes it tedious and not really fun to use. I do understand that my phone wasn't built for Android, and that Android needs higher system specs then Win Mobile (it also lags a bit on Win Mobile LOL) but maybe there is a fix to that.
When I check phone settings, it says I'm running Android version 2.2.2, which I think is the latest version, so maybe going to a previous version will make it better. I'm ready to take a small downgrade, only if I will still be able to use all my stuff (3G, camera, wi-fi etc.) I'm hoping to make Android my permanent OS, but with it being this laggy, I'd rather not.
Any ideas

Thanks a lot for your new rom. I have flashed to WM6.1, however, the system info is still showing Rom revision date: 20070502 and ROM revision:v1.00.24.

the problem may lie with the file 'flash.dio' itself, meaning the file Football uses to flash is different from the one released. The rom date and version may not have been changed on the one released.
i tried flashing different versions of official 'flash.dio', from version 16, 22, 23 to 24, each time the rom date and version will change, thus i reach the conclusion that the problem lies in the 'flash.dio' that Football released.
nontheless, this still remain only to be my guess until Football respnds.
great many thanks to Football and his team for coming up with this 6.1 version, very much appreciated!
Many thanks for this release - much appreciated. There may be a couple of bugs in it though but I will report back later - I want to ensure it is not something I have done wrong. One issue though is when you connect to Wifi, the connection info on the top bar is blank so you need to use Wifi settings to see the connection info.
I also have the same issue where the OS information is not updated - it still shows Rom revision date: 20070502 and ROM revision:v1.00.24 even thought it has been updated to WM6.1.
Yes it`s great!Thanks a million!
waiting for the bugs fixed edition...

I've this problem, too.
I've seen that the WM6.1-download has only the files
chain.lst
flash.dio
Are there no newer version of the files
EBOOT.bin
EBBOT.nb0
superipl.nb0
???
Is it possible that the ROM-Version comes out of this files?
I've used the old files from the original 1.00.24. Is this correct?

I dont think the ROM-version comes out of the files you mentioned above, at list not from the EBOOT files, I do not know what functions the superipl file serves though.
I have tried flashing earlier ROMS without the above 3 files and the ROM-versions change accordingly, leading me to believe ROM-version is hard-coded in Flash.dio and the version which Football released is not is not the version he screen captured with, he is bound to have a few working copies of 6.1 ROM around his desk :-D
If you read russian, you may want to browse the original 4pda thread (link in Football's first post), fellow users there have reported the same problem, but i still cant make out Football's reply to them, even with the help of babelfish :-D
After a few installs and hard resets, I know have this rom working quite well. I love the included SDHC patch as my 8GB SDHC card works perfectly. Thanks for this.
Okay, I have had to go back to WM5. WM6 was working fine for a couple of days until an application was hanging. I did a soft reset and the device hard reset instead! This has happened once before in the 4 days of testing this WM6.1 release.
If this stability could be cured then I would be using WM6.1 as I really liked it when it was on. I just rely on my n311 too much to take a chance with it just now.
Still stable without problem,Thanks a lot
I flash my acer n311 to WM6.1 for 4 days an d still happy with the stable and smooth working.
But still wait for corrected rom version in the next fixed from our hero Football.
Thanks
I've flashed to WM6.1 and the device has been working very well since.
The only problem I encountered was that I could no longer run my GPS software. It kept saying insufficient memory. This was with no programs running, using the default configuration after upgrade.
Using SKTools, I saw that "Voice Command" was automatically included as part of the startup programs. When I removed this from the startup list and soft reset, there was no more problem with low memory.
Thanks much.
thanks football
New versionof rom availible in first post!
How much ROM memory do you guys have free after upgrading? I have 9MB free wich seems very littlle .
Hoo La!!! Good news to make people happy!
Waiting for Football-message everyday.
It is wonderful job.
Thanks a lot for your hardwork and share.
God and your goodness bless you!
hi everyone!
can anybody tell me how to get the spectec 820 wlan card working with this rom?
i had problems with installing the card under wm6 too so i had to downgrade to wm5... but would like to have that fine new 6.1 on my acer n310 working with wifi.
spectec users - can you share your experiences?
any alternative wlan drivers working with that rom?
big thanks in advance!
Thanks for this. I really like it, however, I have 3 problems:
1) The device MAC address is set to 0.
2) BlueThooth doesn't work. I get the message that there is not enought memory (about 70 mb is free though) and I need to recet the device, which doesn't help. I also have tried to make a hard recet with no help.
3) After a hard reset there is this dialog that updates or whatever and then reset the device. Something is wrong with this process as it makes a hard reset bringing you back to aligning the screen and start from begining. Sometimes this goes on for a couple of times before you get it up and running.
I fixed the BlueThooth issues by upgrading the ROM.
I downloaded this file (http://www.mediafire.com/?fiwiwvsymdb), removed flash.dio - which was the final line - from the chain.lst file (you can edit it with notepad incase you are a noob) and flashed the bios.
Thanks goes to potatohead for uploading the file and silver surfer for suggesting it in the first place.
EDIT: I uploaded the rom only in a file with no OS image at http://www.mediafire.com/?bgpnwznmjei
Scared
Hello. I've never flashed this model.
First, I downloaded the file from RapidShare. I uncompressed each file in a SD Card with this structure:
\ACERN300
chain.lst
flash.dio
Later I pressed the two upper hard-buttons (Task + Messaging) while I pressed the soft-reset button. Then I pressed the power button for 5 seconds and the PDA started to "download from SD Card". Some progress bars appeared and the PDA restarted in a few minutes. The Windows Mobile 6.1 logo was displayed and when the OS was about to show the Today Screen, it hung here and doesn't even the Start menu.
It shows only the Windows icon in the title bar, with the WM 6.1 logo at the same time.
What did I make wrong??? Am I missing some other files in the SD Card? Did I flash it correcly?
Thanks!

Hi,
Just wondering why is this step nessesary?
1) Flash a standard official Diamond Rom of your choice
Can I just flash on top of rom that i'am using now?
Yes you can, I just prefer to flash a stock rom first....
23025
newer build pls
In my opinion a good basic ROM to just add whatever you want. In much ROM (not negative to other chefs) are apps with some do not use..
I like this very clean ROM. Thanks for your work man!!
How is this supposed to work? I downloaded the file and put it on main storage (4gb). Did points 4 and 5.. I still got the "energy rom" i installed yesterday.
What did i not understand?
Make sure there is no other file called DIAMIMG.nbh in the top level of your internal storage before you drop this one onto there.
In that case I should have got an error asking to overwrite? But I checked now and its not.
What is supposed to happen when I come to #4? I got the multicolored "boot screen". Then I did #5 and nothing new happened - my old ROM booted..
You hold down volume down, arrow back button (not the centre wheel)
failing that you can always use the CustomRUU.exe way from your PC. (have attached this file for you)
Just make sure the DIAMIMG.nbh file is in the same folder as CustomRUU.exe and you can install it this way.
Ah - Im sorry Now I got another menu telling me to "restore image" or something.
Seems to work great. Thanx for explaining to me
You have to press the hot key to install the rom...
Restart and press Vol. down and the "Back" button
A menu saw with options...
Thats all...

Tested Build 23025 this morning and have deleted it, for me this is a step back by Microsoft.
Horrible, top and bottom, nasty lens magnify thing, uses way to much ram, will wait for newer builds.
I decided to revert back to my first version, seems to run faster, smoother, have updated the links on the first post...will stick with this a while until microsoft get there act together...
Love it!
Yo, Thuduk!
Thanks for a nice rom - I've been searching for a clean rom without too much fuss, and it really can't get much cleaner than a fresh WinMo6.5 install
On another note, earlier, I was running HTC stock rom/radio and battery seemed to last for about 20-24 hours with fair usage. However, now it seams that it only lasts for about 12 hours or so. Does WinMo have that much to say in regards to battery usage? (I'm not totally newb - the device isn't running high brightness, bluetooth etc the whole day ).
When only having a clean WinMo6.5 install and not running fancy stuff all day, is the radio then most likely the culprit? And what radio did you find works best with a clean WinMo and your device?
(I'm running the 1.15.25.14 radio)
And btw - I'm really clueless in regards to howcome some radios drain some peoples Diamonds while others don't - it should all be the same hardware? - Very strange imo..
Thanks for a lean rom!
Regards,
butabi
The radio I use is 1.13.25.24 and get pretty good battery life, not sure how long though
i tried flashing it from my internal storage. But It say's NO IMAGE FILE. But DIAMIMG.nbh is in the root directory of my internal storage. Any explanation why I cant file the file in my internal storage? thanks
I have hard spl 1.4 from Deepshining.
I've been using your ROM for the past 2 days now and its incredibly clean.
However, i'm having a few problems with connectivity.
Wifi would connect now and then, even when the password was correct for the modem, it would continue to try and connect but never establish a connection. The same was true with trying to use O2 GPRS. This would connect, but then it would do nothing within the browser.
For instance I tried to load google.com. When I tap in the address the bar will fill up 1/10 of the way and just stop, the screen would just stay blank. this happens with both internet explorer and Opera. At first I thought it was the Radio and flashed from the recommended 1.13.25.24 to 1.09.25.23 but i am having the same problem. Wifi will connect, but when i try to use GPRS same problem. Also once i try to use Wifi after GPRS with this radio, it will no longer connect also.
I've hardreset several times but still the same problem. Are you or anyone else experiencing similar problems ?
@rdelsol, try installing the rom from your pc.
@sexygenius, no i do not have this problem, i sugest fash with official rom, hard reset, flash this rom, hard reset...
best of luck

NBH Editor v4.1

I'm no longer updating this! All of the new changes have been pushed to the atools version. L1q1d is going to be taking over from here on out so check out his thread HERE.
Here's an editor to select which settings you want for your nbh!
All this does is hex edit different things, including the cmdline info, like you could do with a hex editor. It's just a lot more user friendly.

What everything means:Device:
-Vogue: LINK
-Kaiser: LINK
-Polaris: LINK
Resolution:
-240x320: The native resolution on these devices. Will give the best overall picture quality.
-320x428: The smaller version of the 320x480 that fits our screens better.
-320x480: The native resolution for the G1 and most 1st gen Android devices. Things will fit better as they aren't scaled down, but everything will look blurry/squished.
Version:
-This is the Android version. Be careful not to get it mixed up with a user's release version. Most builds say either Donut, Eclair, or Froyo, but if not then you can install the system and look under Settings>About Phone and look under "Android Version"
-Donut: 1.6
-Eclair: 2.1
-Froyo: 2.2
Panel Type:
-Only Vogues have auto panel detection, so for Kaiser and Polaris users you will just have to pick one. If there's weird pixels, things don't look right, sleeping issues try a different panel.
Keyboard Types:
-Look HERE for more info if you don't know which keyboard type.
More Settings:
-ppp.nostart: If you set this to 1 it should prevent data from starting on boot. Helpful for some people but if you don't have to worry about data then leave it 0.
-CPU Overclock: This uses the same method that myn uses with Rogue Tools. Our CPU's are set to run at 400 MHz, but we can overclock them to over 500 MHz. I would suggest not going over 500 unless you know what you're doing, but some users have reported running at 550 just fine. It could decrease your device's life expectancy if using constantly, but probably won't notice for quite some time.
-System/Data Partitions: You can use this if running system or data off an EXT2 partition to use all of nand. Also helps when using an older Sense build that needed a larger system partition.
-Disable Vibrate on boot: Check THIS POST for more info on that.
-Battery Capacity: Self explanatory.

I've posted new a new version that should be compatible but when I change an NBH (Kaiser) to donut the hw3d.version becomes 01 and the "1" overwrites the space what should be after the "0". Setting an NBH to eclair seems to work though. Haven't tried the same with DZO's NBH though but the result should be the same.

That's something DZO will have to do... unfortunately you can't add things to the cmdline of the nbh or else it wont work right. it will have to be added to the source. If I can convince dzo to add it, I will add the option to change that value for other batteries. For now, you can try kallt_kaffe's nbh.

Scratch that. New update now includes ability to add default settings (like in kallt_kaffe's) for battery, clock, and ppp.nostart. I just flashed successfully but I haven't had much time to test.
Can now use either kaiser nbh or the vogue nbh.
Hi guys,
Sorry... I might have miss it.
Can someone explain what is the panel different?
I am using HTC Kaiser.
Thanks
Daniel
Re: Loser's NBH Editor v3.0
It just depends what panel you have. The only way to tell is by trying each one. If you get weird pixels then thats the wrong one. I havent found any difference between panel 2 and 3 though...
Apparently there are some differences in the way panel 2 and 3 handle power on, power off, there have been a few reports of white streaks on waking up the lcd by some users on panel 3 using panel 2 settings.
This is not definitive though, since panel3 seems to be pretty rare.
You could set other default settings, like panel2 (most used I guess), I never tried another panel. And eclair for the other default setting (most used nowadays I guess).
Maybe you can add comments (like use 1.7x radio and hardspl 3.34 before flashing and use kernel from...) to make it completly idiot proof (and have less questions here on the forums).
Great work anyway.

That's a good idea. I'll change those settings to the commonly used ones and maybe save settings on exit so you don't have to do it each time. And add more info in the actual program. Thanks for the input!
Probably will try with Panel 2. I am using the SD boot with Eclair right now.
Re: Loser's NBH Editor v3.1
What would be some things that people would like to see added to this? I was thinking about making it possible to change cpu and gpu OC settings. And maybe battery settings. Can anybody think of any other cmdline settings?
I don't have any suggestions, just wanted to say thanks for the great app. Very convenient.

Android on your Windows Mobile HTC Device...
Supports Blackstone, Diamond, Diamond 500, Fuze, Raphael, Raphael 800, Rhodium, Tilt 2 & Topaz
This thread is dedicated to FroYo, and NOT Eclair releases!
First things first, this post is PURELY an instruction guide for noobies that aims to reflect the latest status and downloads (give or take a day).
I am not an Android developer, I do not create any of this software... this is done by far more talented people than I. This thread is purely to collate the latest info for Android on Windows Mobile HTC devices and make deploying Android on your device as simple as possible.
If you have new information that should be added to the guide (and is relevant for ALL folks) then feel free to add to the thread and I'll update the OP frequently.
These opening few posts should have ALL the latest info you need to get started (no need to trawl through the threads).
The only time you 'might' need to look in the thread is for 'breaking news' info that is no more than a day old...i.e. The Opening Post is the place!
Credits: There are too many to mention, and many are unknown, but basically the guys poring Android to our devices should be thanked, along with all those making the effort to help others test, document, or use their work (along with those who provide answers to the same questions, time and time again). These are the guys who deserve the credit. From memory...

Latest Update: 03 Sep 2010 (V1.6)
InitRD - 20100813-b11116a
Rootfs - 20100828-c29a486
System - XDAndroid 2.2.AOSP.3.9.10.RC.2.2
Kernel - 20100830_01302 (no debugging)
Headset support - Credits to Oliwe
3D support for Blackstone/Diamond/Raphael (Rhodium/Topaz have no 3D)- Credits to Oliwe
Gallery working - Credits to Oliwe
Touchscreen Calibration is back! During first clean install, touch each of the five calibration points CAREFULLY to calibrate your screen before installation completes. Plus, general touchscreen fixes and power off support - Credits to Oliwe
Back to basics System... stock Android system.
Takes about 5 mins usage before the system starts to speed up, so expect it to be a little sluggish for the first 5 mins.
None 3D devices may not show boot screen, so please be patient during install (screen will show black)
I'd advise that once installed, you also launch SpareParts, and configure the window animations etc to 'fast'
There is a chance that after installation, some Startup.txt settings MAY be incorrect for your device. If you discover any mistake, PLEASE let me know, I will correct asap. I need your help on this guys.
How To Install (CAB Version)
Step 1 - Prepare your SD Card
Find a nice clean SD card to load Android on.
You can either format your card to get it entirely clean, or you can leave all the files you may already have on there.
*Warning* - If you have valuable data on your card, back it up. Android is usually safe, but if you can't afford to lose the data on your card, don't risk it!
Some cards have difficulty working, there is a POSSIBILITY this is due to the formatting of the card. If in doubt, format to FAT32, not FAT16
Step 2 - Download and install the CAB
Download and install the following 'full package' cab (a collection of ALL the files you'll need to run Android on your device) by clicking the XDAndroid Cab button below.
You MUST install on the Storage Card. The cab file will take a couple of minutes to install Android. Please be patient.
For those that are interested the cab files does the following:
- Installs Android in the root of the SD Card
- Deploys the correct Startup.txt for the device (the user can choose their device type)
- Adds a high res icon for Android in the root of the SD Card
- Installs a shortcut in Program Files named "Android" (launches Haret.exe)
- Installs the high res icon in the registry for WM6.5 users
Step 3 - Run Android
Android is now installed... So launch 'Android' from your Program Files menu in WinMo. Your phone should reboot into Android with 2 quick vibrations.
Have patience... the first time you do this can take a LONG time (3 mins or more). During the first boot on SOME devices, you will be asked to calibrate the screen. This is very similar to Windows Mobile screen calibration (except it's in text mode).
The reason the first boot takes longer is that Android is 'preparing' your device for the first time.
How To Install (ZIP Version)
Step 1 - Prepare your SD Card
Find a nice clean SD card to load Android on.
You can either format your card to get it entirely clean, or you can leave all the files you may already have on there.
*Warning* - If you have valuable data on your card, back it up. Android is usually safe, but if you can't afford to lose the data on your card, don't risk it!
Some cards have difficulty working, there is a POSSIBILITY this is due to the formatting of the card. If in doubt, format to FAT32, not FAT16
Step 2 - Download and extract the ZIP
Download and install the following 'full package' zip(a collection of ALL the files you'll need to run Android on your device) by clicking the XDAndroid zip button below.
You MUST unzip to the ROOT of the Storage Card. The zip file will take a short while to extract. Please be patient.
Once you've extracted the zip:
- Click Auto-Setup.exe to configure XDAndroid for your particular device
Step 3 - Run Android
Android is now installed... So launch 'Android' from your Program Files menu in WinMo. Your phone should reboot into Android with 2 quick vibrations.
Have patience... the first time you do this can take a LONG time (3 mins or more). During the first boot on SOME devices, you will be asked to calibrate the screen. This is very similar to Windows Mobile screen calibration (except it's in text mode).
The reason the first boot takes longer is that Android is 'preparing' your device for the first time.
If you want to exit Android and go back to Windows Mobile, then you need to shut down / reboot. To do so with the latest Android releases, hold down the 'end call' button until you see a menu appear.
If this fails to work, then the only option is remove the battery or press the reset button.
Known Issues
Many things are still not working properly, and the developers are fully aware of 99% of them.
SDCard - Most SDCards are working, but if you the 'waiting for SDCard' message, you should try one of these fixes (and please let us know if it works)
Fix 1: Format your card with this tool http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter/
Fix 2: Edit your startup.txt file and add these entries to your cmdline:
set cmdline "lcd.density=240 msmts_calib=0x395.0x3c9.0x79.0x77 clock-7x00.a11=500 msmvkeyb_toggle=off pmem.extra=1 gsensor_axis=-2,-1,3
msmsdcc_1bit msmsdcc_fmax=14000000 msmsdcc_nopwrsave"
Fix 3: Tell your wife / girlfriend that you are about to make some modifications to her phone... change the ringtone and steal her old Class 2 SD Card to use with Android. She will never discover what you have done, and if she does, you'll be able to use Android to send texts to your former girlfriends ;-)
SDCard - A few users have claimed to have had trouble using their SD Cards after installing XDAndroid. Some of those have reformatted the SD Card, and it worked, some couldn't recover it. This is a minority of users, but be warned.
Camera - Not working
GPS - working
Battery Status - Highly problematic for most users (don't trust the capacity Android tells you, it's simply up and down a lot, and highly inaccurate)
WiFi - Working for most people, suspected to cause slight heat, definitely drains the battery faster than WinMo.
Audio - Speaker working for most people, microphone can have issues
Deep Sleep - Working for most people, but can have issues waking up (sometimes, it will not wake up)
GPRS - Working
3G - Working for most
PIN Code - Unknown
GSensor - Working (Screen only handles 0 and 270 degrees)
Bluetooth - Experimentally working (don't expect too much, but it's working for a number of users)
OpenGL ES - 'should' be working but only for Blackstone... more to follow soon
USB - Supported, but will NOT operate in mass storage mode. You can charge via USB and you can debug, but forget accessing your files by it.
Headphone Socket - Semi working (see FAQ for details on how to make it work)
Application Errors: It's very common to see 'Application (xxxxxx) is not responding: Force Close or Wait'. Click wait. I do not know the precise reason for this, but from what I can gather, it COULD be related to the slow speed of the SD Card causing the app response times to JUST be a little too slow for Android's liking, thus causing the message. This seems to happen more after bootup or wakeup when the device is busy doing stuff in the background.
Cannot choose ringtones: This is believed to be caused by the media scanner failing (due to discovering some filenames with none English characters). The best option of all is to use a CLEAN SD Card. But, if you insist on hosting other files on the same SD Card, you MUST make sure they have English character filenames.

Cab will be here in the next hour... but...
This is major move from Eclair to FroYo, and it's slightly slower than the Eclair release (so far).
This is normal though, since many of the Eclair release issues where ironed out, but with FroYo we take a small step backwards before we can progress again...
This release is VERY untested... I used it for 30 mins on a Blackstone only... no other devices tested yet
There is newer system version
Hi,
there is new system version:

Hi,
many thanks for quick explanation and I'm sorry for so quick reply
Will be Sense UI included in this build?
Or where can I get Sense UI for Android?
Many thanks
looks like just an update from 2.1 to 2.2 - no bug-fixes or new working features, right?
downloading now to have a play
OMFG!! YES!!
android 2.2 has calendar sync to exchange (2007) natively!. this release has hammered yet another nail into WM coffin!
also it looks like my 2.1 install was broken - seems noticably faster and touchscreen seems to be working a bit more predicably.
sorry but where is the file.
:-D First post, Step 2 -> Biiig black button
sorry being a noob, all done and running.
Damo

No it does not have Sense. Why would you want it?
You can get virtually all the same widgets from other sources. Sense is a massive resource drain (esp on XDAndroid), and on non 3D supported hardware
If you want the flipclock, you can get it from multiple places, the wallpaper, the wallpaper, and similar widgets are all floating around too.

[Guide] How to Add Arabic / Persian / Hebrew support to your Kaiser

Hi everybody. I will explain the process here, it is fairly easy

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Here is what you’re going to need:
1.Fonts/Language support: this is the most important part. I took the required files for Arabic support from this site
http://code.google.com/p/arabicandroid/downloads/list
all credit goes to Mr. alsanad for his great code
Persian and Hebrew seem to work fine with the font I'm using right now, but I can read both, so I can't say it's 100% working.
Persian: you may want to play with it a little, maybe add newer fonts later by yourself.
Hebrew: when I search Google I found only fonts for Android 1.5. however if you find the fonts, the process should be the same
anyway, the Arabic font package I am using right now apparently can display Hebrew characters...
2.7-Zip or any program that can create “tar” files
Please note that the fonts you get in most of the cases are made for HTC android devices in mind, not for WM devices. And they require recovery mode and other stuff (I can’t explain a lot because I don’t own Android device). So we’re going to convert the file, and make it suitable for our devices.
Steps:
1.Get the fonts file and extract the content to whatever place you like
In the case of Arabic, you should see two folders:
PHP:
META-INF
System
2.Select the folders, and right click on them, them choose 7-Zip > Add to Archive
3.Make sure you choose archive formate as “tar”
4.Name the file “androidupdate” and save
5.Copy the file to you SD card: put in andboot folder
6.Installing the update: I quote this from “How to replace Windows Mobile with Android”
Place the SD card in your phone and power on your Kaiser. When you see text on your screen hold down the D-pad. D-pad is that button in the center of your up, down, left, right buttons. Keep holding down the D-pad until you see something like this appear on your screen.
Click to collapse
7.Choose install update: you will see then some lines and then word Installing.
8.When finished, choose quite, or soft rest.
9.You’re done
Make sure you choose the right font for your Android. Apparently each version of android requires some modifications.
You might want to add some specific keyboard. I recommend Smart Keyboard... it is super fast, very accurate, and has support for different languages, such as Arabic and Hebrew.
I tried these steps on Kaiser running VaniljEclair RLS7c with the latest kernel.
I know this guide is basically unpacking, renaming, then installing... But it might be a little hard for some people..And I hope it will help them.
Make sure you back up you date or whatever important information you have on your phone and SD card before you start.
I have uploaded the files I used for my device. these fonts are meant for android 2.1
Cheers
Duke that has got to be the best timed guide I've ever seen, just finished making up a hebrew fonts update for shar1r, lol
Excellent guide, this deserves a sticky, since it is a question that has been asked before, and will be again
I usually edit an existing androidupdate.tar using 7zip, but this method is more complete, ( my method is mostly a lazy hack ).
Awesome!! I just posted a question about this - and voila this great tutorial!
Thank you!!

If the guide isn't working for you then you can always try a multi language build. I know both Scoot and I keep our multi language Cyanogen 6.1 based builds updated. You might want to look towards those.
Link in 1st post doesn't seem to be working for me either.
Yet i think you should change the title of the thread, something like:
How to add YOUR language to a build

Avoid return key, learn to use space. For a moment i thought i was reading a poem...
the coder apparently switched from Google code. here is the new website
http://ardoid.com/
I would recommend using generic Froyo libs as they might work. I don't have my TyTN II anymore... all my testings are on HD2.
http://ardoid.com/?p=64
most of the mutlilang builds will have native support for Arabic/Persian fonts, however, they won't look connected.
you migh need to use "libskia.so" and/or "libwebcore.so" only in this case.
Adding language support is trail and error, so give yourself plenty of time before trying this out.
I am using the libs for the Desire HD on my HD2 and they work perfectly fine.
And yeah, you can try a program called Tor www.torproject.org or Hotspot Shield www.hotspotshield.com to change your IP address.
