[Q] Arc and MW600 dont detect each other - Y ? - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have this bluetooth stereo headset MW600
which does not detect my Xperia Arc and vice-versa. But both of them (Arc & MW600) detect other mobiles very well. Can anybody think of any reason and solution ?

My WM600 is wokring with my arc. The first time I have to sync the devices. I have put my WM600 in sync mode, then I have found the headset in the syncable devices in the list of my arc.

How do I put my 'MW600' in sync mode ?

Turn on bluetooth on Arc, make it visable, turn off MW600 then turn it on and keep holding the button till u see a spinning arrows, hit scan on Arc, Arc should detect it.

That's correct. It ttok me ages and going back to see the manual from the box itself and have a thorough read thru before getting it pair properly withj my Arc. Wish I seen this post earlier.

@meshoarc
thanxs dude !!!!!!!!!!!! now its working MW600 to my ARC....

i dont have this problem but my MW600 dont show the ID of the Song

does anyone know of a wired headset which controls the music?
Im tempted to buy one of these but because my liveview connection is so flaky im worried that its the bluetooth on my phone (which could take many weeks to be repaired) and if I buy one of these I will end up with another piece of kit to sit on my desk with my liveview.

[Q] MW600 important and weird question

hi all
before buying arc, i had an x10 and had paired my mw600 with it (on first slut of mw600)
when i intended to pair arc with it, it only showed too choices... but i had unpaired it from x10 Bluetooth menu
isn't there any way to have the first slut free in my mw600?
sorry for my poor English
thanks in advance
Could try reading the manual. ;-)

No you cannot.
Simply put, if the memory is full it will self overwrite the oldest device in it's memory.
The mw600 has memory for 3 music and 3 phone devices.
this way you can listen to your music from your pc/other phone, and take a call with a different device.
Just reset the unit, check sergiu84 reply here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=682249
Then re-add the devices you need, easiest way.
thanks all
i really appreciate your kindly help

Can't connect MW600 to HOX

Hi guys,
I'm trying this for a while now and can't figure out what's wrong. I can't connect my SE MW600 to my HOX over bluetooth. It worked great on my HTC Desire but just can't get it to connect..
Thnx in advance.
Sorry i can't help but I was looking at getting these to replace my old sony headset that plays up with my one x, so would be very interested in your thoughts on this headset using it with the one x (if you ever get it to work). Thanks.
I've been using this for a while, with great success.
I have been using my mw600 to play songs through my speakers, and phone calls ocassionally... there is some stutter once in a while but it works perfectly, never had pairing issues

Did you clear the past pairing on the mw600?
It can only connect to 3 devices at a time and i don't know if you can replace without reseting the headset.
Try turning it off, then holding the power button and call button to reset it, then try pairing with your phone.
I didnt have issues with mine.

Sony Ericsson MW600 Don't work

Hey, i have this Stereo Headset, they worked like charm in the SGS 2 or Motorola Razr, but i can't make it work with the S3. I've tryied a lot of roms but there is no way. There is any chance to "add" the headsets HID to the device? Or something, i don't know...
any help?
can't post the link but I know someone on here got it to work cause it made me consider buying one
thread is titled "SGS III with MW-600"
I am using a MW-600 with my Galaxy S3 without a problem.
Mine works. It's hooked up right now around my neck. stock Rom of course.

Me too, it works well
so i think it's something about the roms... now i'm using omega. There is no way to "copy" the stock BT hids to my phones?
Have you tried deleting the paired devices from the the MW600's memory?
I'm running the 8/1 CM10 preview rom, and my MW-600 works perfectly. I haven't tried to use it for a phone call, but I paired it and streamed a few minutes of XM Radio earlier today without a problem.
I've had zero issues (minus one random restart) since I flashed the CM10 preview rom last night. Not sure what all isn't working, but it's apparently stuff I don't use. You might look into it, especially if you want a stock experience.
, thanks. I didn't know that it has a memory for paired devices. Now it works.
Its Very Easy to reset or clear all paired devices from MW600
To reset the headset:
1 Make sure the headset is turned off.
2 Press and hold down POWERmw600 resetuntil the pairing indication appears.
3 Simultaneously press and hold down POWER mw600 resetand CALLmw600 resetbutton until the headset turns off.

After more than 1 year of use (mainly during sport) my mw600 died:impossible to charge it.
I open it and saw loosy contact holding the battery. I reshape them and my mw600 is now working.

[Q] xperia s internal speaker not working

Hi all,
I've got a bit of a problem with my S. When I make or receive a call I can't hear anything in the speaker, I have to switch to loudspeaker to have a conversation. The phone runs 4.0.4. I had this problem for a while but it always resolved itself after some time. I recently rooted the phone and deleted a few sys apps but nothing I wasn't sure about (everything regarding timescape, twitter, SoundLevelAlert and SemcUnplugChargerReminder, at least that's all I remember). Now, apart from the internal speaker problem, I also lost sound while playing any media, only working with headphones plugged in ;/
Any ideas whether it can be a software issue? Or do I need to contact the service asap?...
Sound like hardware problem. If I were you I will contact Sony service.
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
If you have installed a bad version of the sound mod (half of the versions before ACID came up), it could be causing this. Try doing a factory reset or reinstaling your ROM.
reset didn't work, done it a couple of days ago. i'll try reinstalling when I find some time...
Did you have headphones plugged in before this happened?
Sent from my Jellybean Xperia S
I' m using 4.0.4 XS and I have same problem too, it's impossible to hear anything in a noisy area and it happens only when I'm moving (walking, in a car ...)
I think it' s a software problem because when I'm standing, speaker works normally.
Or maybe antenna issue?
Any ideas?
Sorry for my english

that was probably the most stupid problem I ever had with an android phone!!!
I realized it's the headphones when I saw that the headphone profile in livewire is on although no cable was connected. dunno if removing the profile or plugging in and out helped but the main thing is - IT WORKS!!! thanks

Wow, this worked on my Xperia L!
It occurred to me that today my music kept on playing while I had my headphones plugged out, but there wasn't any sound, so I thought nothing of it and paused the music app. In the evening I wanted to use the external speaker but it didn't work. Then I stumbled upon this thread et voila, fixed, thanks!
Bang your phone
I also faced this issue. My phone fell down yesterday and then the speaker stopped working. I thought it was a software problem and resetted my phone. It still did not work. Then I banged the phone on my palm a few times and it stopped working. It's like "Laato ke bhut baato se nahi maante". Disappointed with the quality of the piece though.

Sony Smart Bluetooth Headset SBH50 Review

Hey guys hows it going?
I just purchased one of the new smart bluetooth headsets from Sony which is the SBH50 model and I received it yesterday. Been using it for a day now. Just here to give you a review.
Now first I wasnt sure if it would work the way I assumed originally or if any of the features were compatible with the Xperia S. But bought it anyway as I mainly need it for calls.
As soon as I took it out of the box I immediately touched the headset to the back of my phone and boom. It was connected immediately. Received a notification to download the companion app. Downloaded and thats it. I was soon enough set up ready to go. So simple.
Sound quality is awesome for calls and music. Even the FM radio. The signal for the radio is also good. Unlike on the mw600 where the radio would cut out because the signal was weak.
When you receive a phone call the number pops up on screen with the name, compared to mw600 would be just the number. The notification for text to speech I still havent tested properly however so far seems to be working. I also havent checked the messaging notifications yet however I have seen the email and gmail notifications.pop up on screen.
The multipoint feature is excellent. You can select one device as a primary device and still receive notifcations from both devices and listen to music from the other.
The battery life is also amazing. Switched it on at 7 am and its still on id say about 75%. Most of thr battery has been consumed by me listening to the fm radio this morning.
Oh and there is an option to view your call log on the device too which is quite nice, especially if you want to ring back a number in the call list.
Build quality is very good I found. Feels slightly plasticy but good quality. Not the cheap plastic feel.
Theres a lot more which can be covered and I will add to this review the more I get to know the device and its features.

Got mine as well few days ago. Lost mw600. Not sure what Sony is thinking with 'smart' range as it regresses, since any bluetooth ever, had double click to redial and long press to voice dial. These, including mw1 are missing those functions. Also in comparison with mw600 now we need app to display contacts (sure not it shows names as well), but permanent ongoing notification in status bar and notifications kills this softaware for me.
As long as it does not allow me to change button options and setup, this smart bluetooth is not gonna be 'simply smart' for the foreseeable future. Opening api for Devs might help.
Also don't understand why bluetooth with basically same features, sans NFC, as mw600, is 30 percent larger in volume, while offering same talk/music times as it.
Rant over!
Basically, only reason I'm keeping it is because of possibility of firmware updates (if mw600 had this it wouldn't be obsolete yet and would buy again. Than again that company does not exist anymore) , making it somewhat future proof. This only applies if Sony keeps their end of the bargain.

I got one of these in the mail this week for my Xperia Z.
I was after a bluetooth unit with a 3.5mm output so i could hook it up to my Logitech Z2300 and control the music from my phone. Works well, only the bluetooth range is up to approx 15m line of sight. It'll do for my home entertaining.
I havent tried yet, but if i can connect my pc to it via BT as well i can play the songs off there too.
I dont really see the need for NFC since pairing with BT is simple enough.
Firmware can be updated on it via SUS.
The instruction manual included doesnt have any operating instructions. Im not 100% sure what the icons in the menu means.
Its very light if youre gonna clip it to your clothing, but to handle it is a little tricky cos it is too light.
Ive seen the Pro version of this, with usb on the end of it, so it can be used as standalone mp3 player. Wish i had seen that earlier.

Well, I am somewhat happy with the SBH50 - I only had the MW600 for a short while before sending it back because of the volume controls.
However, it's terrible that you cannot launch voice dial with the big button (what does it anyway?) and the music controls will launch the standard music app if you hadn't launched a different one on the phone before...
I'm praying that this will become better.
My first one after a few weeks died. Wouldn't switch on at all thankfully Amazon replaced it for me.

I'm just looking for a replacement for my MW600 (first one got lost, second one got the clip broken and the last one all of a sudden died for no obvious reason ).

Just to get this right- once you've started another app the buttons will control the playback of this particular app or start the default player instead?? (Which would be horrible since I'm exclusively using Spotify)
And something else which got me confused after having read too many reviews: Does the display turn off while listening/having calls? (The MW600 did and I would prefer it this way.)
And a last question especially for the previous MW600 users: Is the SBH50 comfortable to wear? From the pictures the clip doesn't really look secure to be attached compared with the old model..

Hi there. Yes the display turns off after a few seconds in a call, listening to music or when you stop pressing the buttons.
The clip is comfortable to wear however you will either need to clip it on to the neckline/collar of any top or anywhere along the zip line. You can't just clip it anywhere.
