Yes...that's why developers can make it work for their device if they want to take the time to fix it. And you can't flash this directly anyways...

It sure can, but it's been done before. The newest radio for the G1 is one that is actually originally from the MT3G. Those two phones may be more similar than the MT4G and DoubleShot though.

What improvements would there be even if it were ported to work on a Glacier?

Actually this is the full ROM dump from the TMOUS Doubleshot, AKA myTouch 4G Slide. It's 439mb larger. The radio is included inside the zip file. I still have an hour left before it is finished downloading, then I will mirror it.

Now it make sense... LOL, your original post made it sound like a Radio only image I think you meant to say, someone should PORT this ROM from this dump
Any information on this mysterious "double shot"? I tried Google for it, but the information were all very sketchy... Rumored 1.2GHz, 6 Megapixle Camera, no mention of FFC, Android Version (2.2 or 2.3), no mention of Sense version (expresso or pure)... And the dump looks like a engineering version....
I am waiting for your mirror now...

it's sense 3.0 according to the hd2 forums for wvga resolution. Hopefully it be closely related to our phone doubt it though. Probably might be some decent drivers though.

Lot of interesting things in the system folder. Wait til you see...
Also this device just got leaked about 2 days ago. It's surprising to see a dump of the ROM this fast

Multiupload mirror: http://www.multiupload.com/CPOVQ82CD0

this is sense 3.0. There are somethings in there listed as mytouch. Can this be ported?

Can we get some feedback on this rom and some screen shots
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App

It also looks like this phone is 3d. This is not a rom for us it would have to be ported before we could get screen shots
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App

Hoping somebody steps up to the plate to port this!!!

Oooooooh! I think This might just be a ray of sunshine for us. The only thing I think might be a prob is can & how well will our phones run Sense 3.0 A G2 Gingerbread Rom was also leaked & I just have a strong feeling that we'll get leak for our phone within the next couple weeks :fingers crossed:

If sense 3.0 on a wvga screen so it should work on wvga devices rmk said the g2 might have a 3.0 rom I'm looking at it now it possible to port buy we might have have the same problems that others roms have for sense 2.1

im a total noob to development but i decided i would at least give it a stab.
but looking into the build.prop, it looks like its not going to be easy to port. the build.prop is saying its for an hdpi phone "ro.product.locale.language=hdpi"
im going to continue playing around in the kitchen and see what happens though
Edit: Im not sure why it said hdpi there. looking at the build.prop on cyanogenmod in says 'en' which made more sense since that line looked more like language. still unsure what im looking at though :/ lol

Awesome that you are trying!
We got yer back.
The wildfire's res is 240x320 which is QVGA, not the same like our phones.
So it is like the htc tattoo which was hard to port since the res was lower than the 320x480 used at that time.
Yes the OG Wildfire is QVGA but the Wildfire S is HVGA...actually the Wildfire S is almost the same phone as ours but without the keyboard. Same res and same processor (if I remember correctly).
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
interesting.
Is it possible to get htc flash lite frameworks from Wildfire S and mix it in CM7? That would be the best ROM ever. I don't need Sense ui, all I want is flash as it used to be back on 2.1 stock fw
no progress...i was going to work on it this morning at work (slow day) but linux is not booting after the update i got last night (dual boot). so instead im reconfiguring my computer and re-setting up ubuntu
I'm patient.
There's another hvga/same hardware phone out. Its called the htc salsa, I believe it has android 2.4 sense. It would be cool to get that rom

Yeah it has FB button plus same specs as us...Excluding addition of BT 3.0 instead of 2.1(corr if MTS has 3.0 BT).
Yes but that one won't be out for some time since 2.4 won't be released til May. The Wildfire S Rom is out now and is based off 2.3.2 AND has Sense 2.1 on board. It'll be a huge source for things to use in Sense and Non Sense Ginger Roms. Plus Wildfire S is supposed to launch with 2.4 as well.
Finally got linux running on my pc again and had to start porting (attempting) from scratch. I did everything i could think of then signed and flashed it. Good news is, it installed. Bad news is that got boot loops. I'll work a little more with it and do some more research and see if any progress can be made.

Houston, we have lift-off! I got it working! Testing everything right now to see what works and what doesnt. Only drawback is that HTC has a watermark that is constantly on the screen. It doesnt make it impossible to see what your doing, its just annoying. Will make sure thats one of the first things to be fixed.

well as you may know thunderbolt hardware is almost the exact same as the evo so with a thunderbolt port it makes hdmi support on sense 2.0 roms possible and along with better camera support and also makes 4g possible since this will be the first port coming from a phone with 4g support im am looking forward to this
I am really looking forward to a thunderbolt port for exactly the reasons mentioned above. Basically a revised evo.

I am working on this, but i dont have alot of time. I Have it in my head on how the files should be,but havent goton to it yet, ill try tomorrow, but most likely(likely, not an eta) this week end i should have some progress(progress?)
its based off of froyo, so stock evo kernel will work.
First of all the thunder bolt is not that much alike to the evo, its a desire HD variant.
Different processors, diff 4g (no 4g on this port) and no HDMI is on the thunderbolt. Just because a phone has a 4.3 screen and is made by HTC doesn't mean its the same as the evo ...
The only thing this offers is CDMA sense 2.0.
Calkulin has been working on one

Yeah, and from what i understand they are really busy making ports, and some are probably trying to get the 2.3 with sense ported, as that would be huge for people.
Pretty big difference in hardware there, although it has a cdma radio so that is a plus.

I'm pretty sure the Thunderbolt has no HDMI output, just DLNA. Where it wirelessly transmits audio/video to compatible TV's and devices.
Next time do a search and post your question in the right section! No one is going to speed things up just because you and your mall buddies want a port of something!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=910652
I wouldn't really worry about a thunderbolt port because there really isn't that much it had to offer. Evo already has a few Sense 2.0 roms and several excellent ports that offer somethings not available on the standard Evo rom. Plus htc is coming out this year with Sense 3.0. That is what I would like to see.

The problem is, we have to deodex and remove a bunch of stuff just to even get it to fit on our phones. 256mb of space isnt even close to the size of the roms most of these sense 2.0 and 2.1 phones are coming with.
Most of my sense 2.0 ports so far, i had to remove at least 200mb apps, odex files and extra Verizon stuff. Etc...
Im not sure Verizon would be ok with not being able to have any Extra's at all.
Im not sure they will uprade Sense simply because they wont be able to fit it.
I have asked HTC on twitter like 3 or 4 days ago if they can tell me anything about it. They are yet to respond.

Dear (my name here),
I understand how exciting it is to have the latest updates for your Incredible. Google has announced that most Android devices that were created in 2010 or later would receive the Gingerbread update. However, we do not have a time frame of when the update would become available. We will not know which features would be included or updated until the update if ready for release. When updates are announced, you can find the information at www.htc.com/us and www.twitter.com/htc.
To send a reply to this message or let me know I have successfully answered your question log in to our ContactUs site using your email address and your ticket number XXXXXXXXXXXXXX.
Sincerely,
Lisa
HTC
my thought is that it will probably be like the Eris 2.1 update. It will have most of the gingerbread goodness, and there will be a few sprinkles just to add some flavor, but the official "GingerSense" will probably not have all of the sugary goodness that we want in our Rom. How else will they generate upgrade eagerness in all of those who don't explore all the goodies that come with rooting and flashing the beautiful roms we find on XDA.
Personally, I'm rockin the WarmZtwopointtwo.
IMO, an official GingerSense update will need to be pretty nice to overcome all of the custom options we have available to us. (And really, waiting for that update to be torn apart, gutted of all the ridiculous bloatware, padded and polished with root app goodness, then zipped back up...is probably going to provide the best GingerSense Rom update that we can expect)
I'm willing to bet that we will not see Sense 2.0.

I would imagine since HTC has their own source to work with, its not too difficult to build scaled versions of it/versions made specifically for the phone. I was hoping since HTC did it with the Desire that they may make one for the Dinc2 itself.... but that may not happen. We can dream though This Rom will definitely be the next best thing to an official HTC release. Keep on with the great work Newt!

I was thinking the same thing. I don't see why not. Droid incredible has as good if not better hardware.
Of course I also wonder what sense is going to turn into once ice cream sandwich comes. Since ice cream sandwich will have a lot of the things that sense has inherently (ability for scrolling widgets, etc.)
Just makes me kinda sad. That HTC was all "you'll never see sense 3 on this phone" and the devs put that much effort on just for HTC to change up LOL.

I like what I have seen so far. It does seem pretty responsive, and I had no FC's.

Couldn't get SU to work, which isn't a big deal considering what this rom is.

its my understanding that htc doesn not automatically update ur sense version with ur os update
for example i think the og inc is still on sense 1.0 officially on gb
im not even sure if the sensation on gb is officially still sense 3 or had been upgraded to sense 3.5...so i cant say if it was an upgrade or the same
id imagine htc will save sense 4 for the launch of their next gen ics phones

im not even sure if the sensation on gb is officially still sense 3 or had been upgraded to sense 3.5...so i cant say if it was an upgrade or the same
id imagine htc will save sense 4 for the launch of their next gen ics phones

I'm sure. If you look at it though, the screenies say 3.5. Thats all we have to go by at this point.

yep thats what I thought, for sure i was expecting a new type of lock !!!!
Ugh horrible. Doesn't resemble vanilla ICS in any way which is a shame given the work Google's done on it. I was a fan of Sense back in the Froyo days, but now that stock Android actually has some style to it and looks very good, I can't see myself ever returning to Sense.

Oems were always going to heavily customize the.os
Don't see why ics would be any different
That being said, this is clearly an early build....not new sense sense 4.0
So let's see how that turns out
Looks cool. it would be pretty nice if the DInc2 got this
The folder of sense 3.5 is not very well

He's right. Idk if you guys have seen it yet, but Sony already has alpha ROMs for the xperia devices. Its definitely modified ICS. Typical Sony overlay.

yup, the sony roms dont look any different than froyo/gb and neither does samsung's touchwiz ics
the major ics changes that i like though seem to be present in all 3 oem leaks, which are the settings changes and the under the hood stuff
