[Q] Hard Case For Extended Life Battery - Thunderbolt Accessories

Has anyone found a decent hard case / holster that fits the extended life battery?

These have been "coming soon" for a while, today is the first day a photo has been up for any though!

The top looks to be unprotected, weird.

Looking forward to their "Rugged" extended case..

Looks like they're also added pics of their extended battery.

seidio is coming put with some cases soon

I bet you the extended case from seido will cost an arm and a leg. It looks like it has its own kickstand to make up for covering the stock one.

Thats the only one I found as well. Was hoping to find a TPU one.
There was one custom one floating around which I saw on ebay, but i read that it covers the front camera, and some people had problems pressing the buttons.

Ya its a pain in the ass to find anything for the aftermarket battery's and doors I ordered a silicone one to help protect my phone just sold my ballistic case sucks cause no holster for the extended batteyr unless u spent 60 on a seidio batt and there gear which is over priced Chinese battery's work just the same if not the same thing my OEM battery from sprint was made in China hope more cases come out so we are not forced to by from one company.

I have a silicon case that I am planning to make two cuts in with a razor which will fit over the extended battery. If only I ever used my extended battery...
The seidio big rugged yada yada yada case works with the chinese extended batteries you just leave the back off your phone. The camera is exposed but its always exposed and the case sits close enough that the battery doesn't fall out.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
P.s. its not really called the yada yada yada I just don't remember its exact name. It comes in four pieces: back, skin, part that snaps over/around skin, and holster. I know thats a lot of technical terms but it gives you the idea.

I just bought this yesterday and seemed to be the best price for what you get. The only thing is that they shipped the 80 something cents screen protectors first WTF. I wanted the 80 something dollars worth of cases first. lol Still feel good about this investment.
You can modify the ballistic hc to fit the extended batteries, theres a thread around here somewhere.

yes that's the moretalktime.com one, version 2 is due out in 2 weeks. he has fixed the camera issue on the first batch using a hole punch.

I modified the Ballist HC but its a lot of work and you risk damaging it. Also I have the Seidio ext rugged and like it. Its built better than the standard rugged and I don't have a problem using the notifications menu bar like I do with the Ballistic. I don't care for the Seidio holster though. Rick
I modified my ballistic as well but the sanding and grinding was more complicated than I thought so I just cut a hole in the back to fit the battery door and I can use my stock kickstand and it looks good with the silicon/ rubber case on top of it. I prefer the seidio locking clip to the ballistic, it gives me more security when I lock the phone in it, I wish the ballist had this.

My issue with the seidio holster is if you have a jacket etc. on it gets caught on the top clip of the holster. Hey there's another reason to move to a warm climate, ha-ha
P.S. good idea with cutting through the back, that would allow me to use the 3500 battery instead of the sprint 2600

Yeah, I'll probably wait until it hits Amazon. Looks like it should be easier to hold (comfortably) then without a case. From I can see the bulge extends down further...
ya the case gives it a uniform fatness instead of the bulge. wish they didnt do that so they wouldnt have had to cover up the built in kickstand. but oh well.
Convert combo shouldn't be that far behind...

I wonder if it would be possible to remove the kickstand from the phone before snapping the case on? Seems having two kickstands would kill the sound pretty good

The cases that stretch and tear are made of silicone. Otterbox uses silicone, seidio, and alot of others. The body glove mirage is made of tpu thermoplastic. You can crease tpu cases hard and they will always pop back to like new shape.

The only downsides of the tpu cases is I don't know of any thick tpu cases for the captivate. If otterbox and seidio would offer their current cases but make the rubber portion out of tpu they would be ideal.

Indeed. I regularly switch between the body glove mirage and seidio active x just to change things up. The silicone part of the seidio is getting beat up slightly. Luckily the plastic outer part of the case helps avoid the stretching effect.

Has anyone bought and tried out this casing? It's a aluminium bumper, just like those for iphones. Looks interesting although that front bezel is over pronounced imo. If you anyone has bought this maybe a short review and some pictures will be greatly appreciated.

Wowie! Looks great. Too pricey for me though to try to find out whether it'll fit the VZW version..
I thought 35 wasn't too bad considering the fact that I had a friend who paid 130 for an element case for the iPhone. Lol
I'm using a GSM phone with standard battery and I have a friend whose using VZ LTE with extended so ill definitely let you guys know how it fits!
If anything, it does seem like the full battery cover is exposed so I would assume the extended batteries would fit. That's also another plus for me since I swap out with ebay batteries when I'm running low!

yeah, I agree.. looks like it adds a good 3mm "lip" on the front...
those are over priced, I get them for USD 15 over in china.
Looks pretty cool. I'd be interested how they look and fit on the VZ w/o extended battery.
Ordered as soon as I saw this post, and it FINALLY came in today!
It does add a bit of bulk and weight, but it feels pretty sweet!
My favorite thing about this case though is the fact that the battery door is exposed so I can easily remove the back cover and swap out batteries without taking the whole case off!
With that said, there's definitely a good chance that the extended battery would fit, but the case is pretty fitted on GSM so I honestly don't think it will fit the VZ LTE model.

Yes it does add bulk to it. I was using a 4500mAh from mugen previously. Sent it back for an exchange for the 5400mAh one.
Well the thickness is twice the thickness of the original note. Given my battery can only last at most 8 hrs for stock. using this mugen one can last me 18 - 24 hs, sometimes 13-15. depending on how agreessive is the usage.
Tons of review out there. I believe the new 5400mAh will last longer than that.
Btw, the case they gave give a better grip of the phone and with a kickstand. how awesome is that. =)

Haha, thats true, I do feel the pinch when I buy it (and sometimes wondering if there's any real differences other than the branding).
But its kind of mitigated by their good aftersale response and free of charge exchange of my 4500mAh batt with the new 5400mAh batt.
I am satisfied! haha
