Does this happen to you? Messaging and Google Voice

I open the messaging app and select a thread for say Ricky, but it opens a thread for Jessica. Anyone have this problem? However, I think it sends it to the correct person, but leaves the text on the wrong thread of messages. This has happened on every ROM and on both my EVOs.
And lately Google Voice is keeping my phone awake a good bit. Anyone else?

Never. Only if I click too fast right when I open the messaging app.

Happened to me before and yea it sends the message to the wrong person I think its just a bug on some evos but it doesn't happen that much

it happens on my phone sometimes three times a day, I text a lot some months 3000+/month but it never does it on miui. try miui out and see if it does that. only on htc based roms and cm have I seen this happen

check and double check who you're sending a message to, regardless of what name you selected. That happened to me before and got me in BIG trouble, it certainly does send it to the wrong person. Has potential to be very bad. Thankfully it hasn't happened to me in eons, knock on wood, but yea, watch out.

I've never experienced it with either a Sense based rom or an AOSP rom. Now that I've made that statement, it's possible it'll soon happen....hahahaha

For GV, take a look in the Services and kill the widget service. That seems to be the biggest cause.

The wrong thread opening when choosing the right thread has happened to me on CM rom.
I've noticed it happens more often when I have numerous threads listed. if I clear my text messages it happens less often.

I've been looking for a fix for the messaging issue for a while. I have sent a message to the wrong person and it is embarrassing. Since I'm more careful to double check the recipient before pressing send, but it still needs a fix.

Anyone have an older Voice app without the widget? Removing the widget does not help. I can kill the service but that gets old.

I have had two Evos. Both did this. Every ROM I've tried. Maybe I just text too fast. Damn you Swype. You're too fast!

Agile Lock Your free cure for the Sense 3.0 lockscreen blues

There is a really nice fully working Sense 3.0 lockscreen app. There is a free version and a paid version ~1$ which is fully customizable (app shortcuts ecet).

Try the free version it is same as paid except for the customization. Occasionally does take time for the lockscreen to show up. Not just the first time you load it as the author says but occasionally. Unless you are running MIUI it is the only real game in town. Hopefully if enough people support the author he will fix the lag on opening.

I wouldn't run this on my OG Droid. That phone seriously doesn't have any memory to spare for a lockscreen.
I never had any problems with my Inc 2 actually turning on with this running. I did have problems with the Agile Lock lockscreen itself showing up after turning on my phone. The Agile lockscreen would wait 2 seconds or so until I touched the screen then it would show up.
I decided to live a little and blew $1.32 on the paid version. There was an update yesterday on that version and it doesn't seem to have that delay to show up that I was talking about. I am not sure if it is completely gone but then again I didn't really any memory intensive programs like games today.
I am running a rooted debloated HTC Gingerbread rom and boy am I in heaven. This lockscreen is the only thing about the new 3.0 Sense I wanted. This app is really surprisingly well made.

I always back the clock speed down to 998... stock its set to 1200.... Then I put all the voltages down 25 you don't want to go to low or it will lock up... But that's what I do seems to work good

One bug I have found is that I can't get WiFi to connect. It'll keep saying connecting, but will never connect.

Still have htc sense fc
voice search cause reboot
I didnt test wifi .
I ll continue tomorrow , night all .

I know what's causing the sense to force close and the voice search.... I ll check into WiFi

Perfect.
The big thing that causes Sense to crash on mine as of right now is the people widget. I don't even use it, but when you go to the screen with the widget, it crashes. All of the other ones seem to work fine for me.

ICS Power Off/Reboot and Portable Hotspot Fixes

I by no means take credit for these but I can confirm they are working for me. I got these from the Skyrocket forums:
To fix the power off/reboot freeze issue do the following:
Make a CWM Nandroid backup of the ICS ROM. Then do a restore of the backup you just made without wiping anything. Reboot and test it out. It worked perfect for me.
Not sure why it works but it must have something to do with the restore scripts being used. They must somehow correct the power off/reboot issue.
To fix the portable hotspot issue do the following:

This has been tested by me and it works like a charm.

Unfortunately I think the auto-rotate issue is kernel related so we have to wait for a specific kernel for our phones. I downloaded an app from the market "Auto-Rotate Status Bar Switch" and it seems to work pretty well.

That app doesn't help. Still rotates into landscape when I'm in a portrait mode.

dude, as you can clearly tell from the rest of this forum, no one has a fix for it yet. be patient. besides, the OP isn't trying to address the auto rotate problem in the first place..

so im using Ravers blackedition rc3, with the ICS theme designed for rc2.
originally, rc3 had the shutdown/restart thing fixed, but flashing the theme broke it.
i tried your method but no luck for me.
im sure this still probably can work for those not using any themes tho

i am trying your method to get tethering to work...i followed your instructions and everything was good up until setting it up...i got to the skyrocket connected part...but when i hit my menu button nothing happens...i dont get the menu to set the SSID and pw
my laptop can pick up the skyrocket signal but it asks for a pw...and i dont know what it is since i didnt set one
edit: found your original thread and read the comments from another user...you have to tap on the word hotspot and then go into that page and then hit menu to configure...thanks!

No the camera rotation is tied to the auto-rotate issue

I changed roms did the tether but haven't tried to fix the power button I went with raver ics remix and love it everything is so smooth but I'll try it soon 14 hrs of work bout killed me and got to be back in 6 hrs

I dont think so currently. Youre going to have to go without sepia on your pics for a while. Its hard to be artsy on android.

Instagram is a app issue with "all" ICS ROMs. It hit and miss as very very few have said it worked for them but majority it does not work.

The app is fully working for me using NexusMod ICS Zero. I admit it wasn't working and was freezing trying to use the filters. But once I did the Fix Permissions Workaround for ICS it is fully working now. It does lag a little on some of the filters but it no longer freezes up the phone or reboots the phone.

It works for me too. The issue is all the pictures I upload are pitch black despite what I do to it =/

Which ROM are you on? Mine uploads fine after the fix permission fix.
Crap...I just updated to the latest Instagram and now mine are pitch black now...lol.

I'm on Racings UCLD Skyrocket ICS, and Instagram actually TECHNICALLY does work now, but it's far from perfect. I've only had one FC though so that's good.
In general its just slow applying the filters at times, and just seems a little "buggy" on my ICS rom. But it does work so I'm not complaining (on the old ICS roms it would just freeze up the entire phone and FC constantly)

This happens to me a well. I'm running Jim's ics megamix. I don't use instagram anymore because my phone freezes and reboots itself.

On Racing's newest UCLD Skyrocket Rom it seems to work, not great but good enough for me (I was so against going back to Gingerbread that I was prepared to live without Instagram so I'll take what I can get) lol

1/5 times or so, is how often I can get it to work.

So how can any of you say it's working when using words like (1 out of 5, lagging, black picture, freezes often)....That my friends is not working so again to not create false hope for any newbies running around trying to get a fix for instagram - It's an app issue with ICS and does not have anything to do with ICS Rom's. Period.

Lol very true. After playing more with instagram I can go ahead and say it doesn't work well enough to warrant using. Mine Freezes on applying filters and when attempting to export photos.
Also the pics that I was able to get edited/uploaded through instagram (after a lot of waiting and semi FC's) I noticed that the quality is severely degraded after it gets uploaded I freely admit I haven't spent much time with instagram (I have a real camera and use LR3 and CS5 when I want to do some photography) but is it normal for it degrade the quality so much?
After my pics were uploaded they looked they were shot with the front facing camera on my T-989 lol

I wonder if we all wrote them. Maybe they can help resolve the issues. Here's the link.

I seem to have fixed the instagram bug. Clear data on the camera in applications and try running it again
Edit: nvm it only worked well for a few minutes. I even tried replacing the camera apk with aosp version from ravers aosp rom.. same thing works for a few minutes then starts to lag out

Wow I didn't really notice how bad this app didn't work on ics. I thought it was gonna be a hit or miss but Every time i try to upload a picture. It won't even force close my phone just will freeze.
I'm also using that link to email them and see if they can release a fix soon. This really blows for now.
