Accessories - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

This is for the Droid Incredible 2

http://www.mobilecityonline.com/wireless/store/productdetail.asp?productid=27960
Here is an extended Battery that claims to have double the life of the stock battery. I'll buy it and check it out soon.

I purchased the silicone case the day I picked up my phone from Verizon. I also got the screen protector. I've had pretty good luck with my Skinomi Carbon Fiber Skin Protector and clear screen protector for my G-Tablet, I might get both for my Incredible 2. Plus Skinomi has a lifetime warranty and pretty good deals every so often on Amazon.

when i got mine i grabbed the "early bird" bundle they were offering which incl:
1 pack of 3 screen protectors
1 Car charger
1 Case with a kick ass kick stand
ill take pics and upload them in a few.

Gorilla glass. No screen protector needed

+1.
(Had the OG Droid for 15 months of pretty heavy use including a few drops and lots of pocket time. Case had several small dings but not one scratch on the glass. Gorilla Glass is amazing -- I just hope it's really on the Dinc2, because there are a lot of conflicting reports. Compared to the Droid it looks and feels like GG, with the same slight shimmer when looked at from an angle under bright light.)

got a full refund yesterday for my gel case that I bought with the inc2 the day it came out (april 28th), they had a two piece incipio case much like hte otterbox commuter case. I wish I waited to get the otterbox, but the guy offered me a discount on the incipio and since they are basically the same I had to take it.

What brand is that case? I can't seem to find it anywhere. It's one of the very few I've been interested in and I'm not seeing it on the VZW website, nor Amazon or elsewhere.

i'm not so sure it's gorilla glass. i just got a replacement because the screen got a scratch in my first week of use. not sure from what since it wasn't dropped. only thing i could think was that it came from my having it face down on my desk to enable to speaker phone. so, i would get a screen protector to be safe.

It is Gorilla Glass, Gorilla Glass is not unscratchable, it just makes it a lot more difficult.

Gorrilla Glass is highly scratch resistant. It's a treated tempered glass, meaning it goes through an extra process where a coating is infused on it to seal the flaws, making it more durable and harder.
Anything harder than Gorrilla Glass that has an edge can and will scratch it if applied to it. I've actually taken a knife blade to mine to show it to someone and it didn't scratch.

InvisibleSHIELD

Just a heads up
I was in a local mall in New Hampshire, USA looking at cellphone cases for my vibrant at one of those kiosk and noticed two more booths was an Invisible-shield booth with demonstrations...ect
Long story short i picked up a full body InvisibleSHIELD for $25 and they installed for $5 bucks and did a great job.
many people have complaints with with invisible shield. the main problem is that it gets dirty easily
agreed
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
It does seem to have a slight sticky feel, I figured its because it takes 24-48 hours to fully cure
Is this how it gets dirty?
edit
never mind i see what you mean

Well ill see, if i dont like ill just remove.
Whats a better alternative if i decide to remove?
My invisible shield is clean all around basically... but I didn't know anything about zagg when I got it.
Zagg seems to be getting some bad reviews on this forum. I bought it the day I ordered my Vibrant and installed it the day I received it. Back looks awesome, and it is not nearly as slippery as the back cover alone. Front however.... zagg is slightly narrower than the screen, and it is bugging me. Also, it is far from invisible on the front, but I guess I will live with it rather than having my screen scratched. What really sucks is that the "full body cover" does NOT cover the corners nor the bezel, and we know what happens to these phones if you drop them.
I will have my case soon, as I planned - I put the zagg on so my phone does not get scratched with the particles that get under the case. Once I have the case on, I will feel a bit more comfortable handling the phone.
I had a BSE(bestskinsever.com) on my iPhone screen for 2+ years. I took the back skin off because of the "dirt" issues and because it didn't stay on the rounded edges very well. I just applied a skin to my Vibrant. As far as I know, BSE are identical to Zagg/Invisible Shield, but around 1/3 or 1/2 the cost. Some people don't like them, but it gives me peace of mind to know my screen is more protected.
I brought the T-Mobile case the first day I got my Vibrant. After two months I decided to get the Invisible Shield for the back. The phone itself is big enough already, I dont need any extra bulk feel too it. For the Screen Protector I'm using Realook which is alot better then Clearfreak I had at the beginning.
As someone posted, the Invisible Shield doesnt protect the Chrome or Edges around the phone.
My second day with it. Now tht its fully cured
The back feels great
The screen not to much. Its somewhat finger print resistant but at the same time playing FPS game like nova you fingers dont slide as good on screen and has kind of a rubbery feel.
How does Realook feel is it a harder surface?
Realook is hard and not sticky at all

Yea woke up this morning "day 3" and picked up phone and its not sticky anymore.
Im really liking this.
With the invisibleshield on the back the battery cover feels solid and gives the phone an overall solid feel to it.
Also the battery cover comes off easier now
I might remove screen protector though IDK. Im more worried about the plastic back cover scratching. The screen was more for reducing fingerprints than actual scratching , im mean its gorilla glass and all. I never had any issues with my N1.

Thanks for the heads up if i decide to remove the one on my screen now ill give that a shot
For the Screen Protector, get the Realook. It feels and look like nothing is there....
So i took off my front piece i hate it. Left the back piece because i like the way it feels and still protects back from scratches.
Got a realook SP just finished installing and yup its 10 times better than invisible shield SP like others said it doesn't feel really any different than it does without one on
Dang, shoulda bought Realook, it is soooo much cheaper than the one I bought. The brand I got is good (it's not a Zagg brand), and I have no complaints, but I paid 20 bucks a piece for them (I have two Vibrants, one for me and one for the wife )
You can get a 2 pack of these Realook Screen protectors from Amazon.com for 11 bucks shipped.....coulda saved myself 35 bucks
Learn from your mistakes.
I got zagg too. I'm not hating it but definitely would like to save some money...
Yeah, I also got the invisible shield but I just ordered the realook sp a couple days ago for the front.

Accessories to get?

I'm going to be picking up a Thunderbolt tomorrow and would like to know what everyone thinks I should get in terms of accessories.
I was thinking about an extended battery, seeing as how it seems to make a difference, but aside from that I have no idea.
Suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!
You might want a screen protector. I would get one online somewhere, not a cheap VZW one.
And, I assume you've done a bit of research on that battery so you know it's HUGE.

Yes, I realize it's XBAWKS HUEG. I'm also toying with the idea of a second battery, as I wouldn't mind swapping mid-day.
As for the screen protector, I was thinking about a SGP Ultra Crystal. Has one on my X and it was great.
I hear the Thunderbolt has Gorilla Glass on it. No need for a screen protector.

Tell that to several posters on here that have started threads on how cheap the glass is. And the couple others that have cracked the screen.

This is a list of accessories I purchased for my TB.
Amazon.com I found has the best deals (even beating out eBay)
Car Dock, $30.00
(well worth it - If you use your phone for traveling functions. GPS, Music or what ever)
Screen protector - $15.00
additional charger - $10.00
(stock charger is pretty shafty, does not work well at all)
Pouch - $13.00
(for when in your pocket, purse or "satchel")
VZ Car Charger - $5.00

I just ordered the oleophobic too.
Never tried oleophoboc, but had sgp ultra fine and liked that fingerprints would not show but it was just way too cloudy and diminished the screen resolution too much. Since then I have switched back to ultra crystal with no regrets. Here is a shot of ultra fine and ultra crystal to show the difference between the two.

I hate my screen protectors from SGP. They're going back. I got them today and went to put them on but the very instant I pulled to protective back off dust started sticking to it. It was as if they were electrically charged. Dust I couldn't see in the air was all over the back of my screen protector. I tried both of them. I'm switching back to ZAGG. I like the install process of those better. And they will send you another if it get scratched or you get a replacement phone. Pretty sure SGP doesn't do that.
If anyone knows of a better screen protector (preferably wet installation) I'm open to suggestions.

Have you tried applying the SGP's in a bathroom with a hot shower running to control the dust?
Phantom Skinz are extremely good protectors that require a wet application. I use only them and SGP's. I would recommend them.

I had a similar one on my Asus Transformer. The back on that is far more textured than the E4GT and it stuck just fine.
I'll post pics once I get it installed. Maybe a video of me trying to install it just for lulz.
mine still hasn't shown up; must be on that slow boat from China, Utah!
I put it on, and took it off. Hated it. Im going to stop dealing with these cheap skins and screen protectors. Going to just spend the money to get the legit one from Steinheil. I have went through like $10 in these cheap protectors.
I put this entire one on on Saturday night....took it off Sunday during Sunday Night Football.
Im picking up one of these and a tpu case and calling it a day.

Which one did you get? I kind of like the Crystal Clear one but also am tempted by the one that resists finger prints.

Got the crystal. I read on the other thread that you barely get fingerprints and all that. Plus I want to keep that sexy clarity
got mine, and installed it, and, actually, its a lot nicer than I thought..
I also got that combo holster/black case from the sprint store, and, the phone fits with the complete cover into the case; so, the phone is completely covered with that clear protective material, and, the case is providing additional protection..
I figure between the 2 things, I should be pretty well protected until Ballistic releases their case for this thing soon..
In for one. Looking for basic cheap skin for the moment.

The ones on eBay are the worst ss in the world I've used them they are horrible and crumple easily u will know once u receive them
Vikuiti are the best ones I have ever used hands down. Better than Martin Fields (these are my second favorite but they scratch more easily) and way better than any nonames. I was not uncommon for them to last half a year without tiniest scratch and much longer than that if ur not as fussy as I am.
Don't get http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Savvies-...ting_LaptopAccessories_RL&hash=item27bf6538f0
Just got mine today and while it was relatively easy to apply on (feels a bit cheap though), it's slightly too big for the Note's screen and the home button cutout is in the wrong location.
Waiting eagerly for SGPStore / Steinheil to start stocking Galaxy Note screen protectors... now they're really quality. Base films made and finished in Japan, packaged in Korea. Pricey but awesome.

I wonder if the Note has Corning Gorilla glass screen just like the Galaxy S2. I don't think I'll ever need a screen protector if that's the case. I've been using the Galaxy S2 without any screen protector for months and it's still as good as new.
From what I've read elsewhere on another thread, it doesn't have Gorilla Glass.
Just ordered the Skinomi fully body one with the CF back. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.
Dropped my Note for the first time today and noticed 3 small surface scratches. Damn it!!! As soon as Zagg releases an InvisiShield protector I'm all on it.

http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_note-4135.php according to this it has gorilla glass.
but as is always the case, thin glass made to cover a large surface area will be more fragile than this glass made to cover a smaller surface area.
i just bought a dell streak otterbox impact case, was able to cut it to fit my note. using the included dell streak screen protector as well, just big enough to cover the usable part of the screen. should last until my proper screen protector arrives.

**Video Installation and tips/techniques....Credit to tillithz for both**
Some side notes that you may want to know:
- The video is 5:06 long NOT 16 minutes.
- Clean phone of any smudges, fingerprints, or dirt PRIOR to starting.
- Remove battery.
- I use Brillianize for the cleaner and have found it to be exceptional.
- I use Johnsons and Johnsons Baby shampoo as my Soap of choice.
- Micro Fiber towels NOT paper towels, Kleenex, tissues, or anything else that might shed particles.
- I used a plastic stick (chop stick) for my mixing tool.
- I feel anyone can perform the application this way for a near flawless result.
- Make sure not to mix the warm water and soap to rough as it will cause bubbles to form in/top of the water. You can squeege them out but why not prevent them to start with.
- The video can be linked in OP, or anywhere else, but please give credit to me as tillithz.

Exactly! This is the time for you guys who are on the fence about the product to give it a shot. Most screen protectors by themselves cost more than what I paid for two full body setups and a screen protector. And just a FYI, I paid $6.25 shipped, out the door.

Yes...but without the horrendous orange peel texture. Here's a pic of my Atrix 2 the day after installation, in comparison to a Zagg
And here's a link to my review of the XG when I got it for my A2

Lets see how fast they ship to the Netherlands ^^
Yeah, I just bought $40 worth of stuff for $13, see how quick it gets to Australia!

Thanks for the tip, just brought 3 full body protectors. Just want the back really as I don't like this type of screen protector for the screen. But a bargin just for the back anyway.
Are those available or it just pre order ?
Thanks
edit:
Never mind, I just notice the feedback from customers that already received the product at the bottom of the page.
Wow 8 dollars something for me but I don't have online money right now.
Awesome find!!!
I just got a Full Body & Screen Protector for my whenever-it-ships-Galaxy-S3, and a new Screen Protector for my existing INC2 which I'll be selling to subsidize the cost of my new phone! $5 shipped to my house!
That should tide me over til I have the $$ for a new S3 Otterbox.
Nice one - thanks
do they full cover the screen?
Or just a portion of it? since it is curved most of the screen protectors dont fully cover it
Just ordered 2 full body protectors and a screenprotector. Great sale!
