STEP 2- Download Kies here http://www.samsungapps.com/about/onPc.as?L...OUNTRY_CODE=GBR This will install the usb drivers needed for the flashing so install after downloaded.
STEP 3- Download Latest samsung UK Simfree firmware here http://www.multiupload.co.uk/LSLRGURR57 There is no Password Just put extract the .tar file in the zip archive and put it as the PDA in odin and reboot your phone to download mode

NOTE(PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT THE PIC BELOW AND AND MAKE SURE THAT YOU REPLICATE THE SAME SETTINGS AS IN THE PIC AND YOUR GOOD TO GO)
STEP 6- You should have a yellow box on the left side in Odin if you have followed this guide this means you are ready to flash. Please make sure your battery is full wait for any drivers to load and the yellow box on the left should be there if it isnt you have not installed Kies STEP 2 if you have the yellow box on left proceed by pressing start on Odin and relax.
STEP 7- Odin will display a progress meter on Odin and on the phone be patient while it flashes all the required files once done it will reboot the phone and goodbye o2 logo on boot and shutdown. When the phone finally boots back complete setup. And there you have it a fully debranded samsung galaxy s2 hope it was easy to follow enjoy.
STEP 8- One last final step is to change your CSC code by typing this code in the phone dialer *#272*<your IMEI># (the code will be listed at the top of the screen. If you're coming from O2 PAYG handset it should say O2U. Now Enter recovery (volume up, home, power keys together) and do a factory reset and choose reboot phone Check your CSC code again Hopefully it will now say XEU
Rebrand your firmware back to O2 original firmware for warranty purpose or you just want to go back to o2 original rom download it here http://www.multiupload.com/VHX20NJEAP There is no password extract the zip file to the desktop you should end up with I9100XWKDD_I9100XXKDH_I9100O2UKD1_HOME.TAR The procedure is the same as above just start from STEP 4 above skip STEP 8 use the same settings as shown in the pic below enjoy.

Bootscreen is the only branding. You should see stock sammy one now

Is the kernell in that pack KERNEL_I9100XWKDF_CL170898_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5? is that the one we flash once we have rooted to get rid of the yellow !
EDIT
Nice guide ^^

Mobileunlocked.Co.UK cost me 14.99 and the code was sent within about 10mins. Highly recommended

Why would you do that if you can just do it like described in this post for free?

Because this guide is to de-brand your device, NOT unlock.
It will get rid of carrier references and customisations by the carrier etc.
This method puts the put to "How Samsung intended" - Software wise. However, you will still be locked to the carrier you were before.

Thanks for the guide - fixed my camera auto flash too - must have been an issue with the O2 firmware?

Which CSC codes does that ROM include? It is multiple?

Once you have done this can I use original Samsung firmware updates or will I still need to wait for O2?

Many thanks for this.

Yes it has multiple 2.3.3 2011 April 29 MULTI - CSC - OXXKDD

Yes you can use the samsung online updater to check for updates or when a newer firmware gets released download it and flash it as described in this guide again.

2.3.3 2011 April 29 MULTI - CSC - OXXKDD
2.3.3 is the gingerbread vershion 2011 april 29 is the build date and CSC Multi is the nordiac generic vershion its all good.

ooo Lord that was easy!! Apart from waiting ages to download, that was easy as pie!! I even flashed without resetting or anything and it kept all my settings etc. Thanks for this

Does it mean that maybe in the not too distant future we might have custom roms? That's really cool!
awesome to know, I'm currently thinking of getting this phone and the only thing really holding me back is the motoblur on it.

Are there any de-branded images for the Motorola Charm MB502? From what I understand, hardware-wise it's almost identical to the Flipout.

Noob inside
Hi there,
just bought the flipout (mainly because of his formfactor) and looking forward to have fun making the most of it. But, because I'm a noob, I have questions
Is your guide specific to Orange operator (mine is Bouygues - french one)?
What do you mean by "original firmware simfree"? That's motorola's implementation?
Last but most important question : does my questions make sense?
Kisses to all, receiving my flipout tomorrow
I flashed the UK rom as stated here and it bricked my flipout. I got 3 of them from AT&T for a penny each because of a 3 hour special. I had one to play around and i bricked it. Fresh install of windows 7, fresh downloads and fresh installs. No funny hardware or RAID configurations and nothing but new updates and essential software installed.
RSD went through the process and everything finished with an OK and PASS. When phone rebooted, it said "Critical Error" and thats it. it then reboots few more times and goes into Recovery Mode. I flashed it again using the Chinese w/ Moto Blur rom and the same thing. I figured by this point its either needing an actual US Rom or it's really done for. I downloaded the bootloader and flashed that with no problems. same error and same recovery screen. tried flashing the chinese rom again and same error on reboot. Perhaps the phone was just a bad phone and already was going to have problems. I've rooted/flashed about 50 android phones and never ran into one that got bricked. Just thought I'd post this up for others..

[Firmware] Stock "Nordic" I9250 ITL41F.XWKK9 firmware (Odin)

Not very new or exciting, but for those who for whatever reason want to go back to their Nordic yakjuxw firmware, here it is.
It requires I9250 Odin, which is also attached to this post.
Firmware download: (tar.md5 file, Unpack with 7-zip)
http://www.multiupload.com/2EUJIL7QV3
Source: modaco forum. Downloaded from Filesonic, joined, repackaged and uploaded to multiupload.
If the multiupload link doesn't work, you can always try downloading the original rar-files from the modaco forums and filesonic:
Original modaco thread.
My own neX-files mirror:
http://neXfiles.kjonigsen.net/firmware/xwkk9-odin/
If that doesn't work, I have a mirror on box.com here:
Part 1: http://www.box.com/s/g6p1h13nmo8j8l1jthcj
Part 2: http://www.box.com/s/eqyy9fqevc81omo70xe8
You only need this if the original multiupload link does not work.
I9250 Odin:
Attached to this post, but also downloadable from box.com
http://www.box.com/s/zsnje79s2y40b9b7c62s
Baseband is XXKK1.
To flash this follow the following guide:
1. Download file.
2. Unpack 7zip file. You should now have a 4-500MBish file with an extension of "tar.md5". Do NOT rename it or attempt to open.
3. Put your phone in Odin/Download-mode. To do this you have to power it off, then hold volume down and while keeping that pressed, press power. Your phone should boot into Odin/Download-mode. This should be reported on screen.
4. Connect your phone to your PC via USB.
5. Ensure your PC recognizes the phone as a valid "Gadget serial" device. If device manager is reporting new "Unknown devices" chances are Odin will not be able to connect to your Galaxy Nexus. If this happens, check chainfire's thread for more help on getting Odin and drivers working:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1394051
6. Disconnect your phone from the PC.
7. Start Odin as Administrator (not sure this is needed, but oh well)
8. Reconnect your phone to the PC. Observe that Odin recognizes the phone.
9. Choose the unpacked firmware file in the PDA section.
10. Choose the supplied PIT-file and make sure repartition is checked.
11. Click start.
12. Wait. Watch your phone reboot into stock.
Edit 2:
Added clarifications about which files are needed.
Stweet, always nice to have.
How does one use this with odin (never had a samsung device so Odin is pretty new to me).
I tried to flash it but it just reads the MD5 sum, and then quits.

Boot into download mode. Power off - vol down + power, should do it. Remember you need the samsung drivers for odin to recognize your GN.

I honestly haven't tried this particular build myself, but everytime I've flashed a build via Odin (for my SGS1) it has wiped my setup.
If you use the provided PIT-file and check "repartition" you will 100% guaranteed wipe everything on your phone.
Sometimes this is overkill. Sometimes that's what you want (get to a known factory state, with no unknown weirdo artifacts from previous flashings).

If you have the correct drivers for your galaxy nexus, Odin should recognize the phone when it is in Odin/Download mode. (Power off. Hold volume-down. Press power-on).
If you are unsure about drivers, check chainfire's thread which has more details, more discussion and links to kown good drivers.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1394051
And yes. This should go in the PDA section in Odin.
Edit: Added a guide to the first post.

In general yakjuxw has a manufacutorer code of "Samsung" instead of "Google". This caused some people to get upset. See threads here on XDA in this very forum. That said, I honestly don't think anyone found any difference between the firmwares apart from that.
The yakjuxw.xwkk9 build was the "stock" firmware release in the Nordic countries in northern Europe. It supposedly has some regional customizations while waiting for full international support in ICS mainline. I've yet to discover what those customizations were though.
If you wonder what this firmware offers you if you want to run it right now, it probably offers nothing.
I've just posted this so that people who for whatever reason (warranty returns, receiving future "nordic" OTA updates should there be any etc) wants to return to "stock" for their particular region of the world, as opposed to the international/"US" stock version, will have that option.

I've read that various firmware revisions has been reported in around the world. There was a thread about this earlier here on XDA for those curious:

I don't think anyone has received any 100% specific information about what differences there are and where it was released, and for whom.

[GUIDE FOR NOOBS] How to update Xperia S to Android 4.0 ICS: STEP by STEP

I have seen this question posted a dozen times today across several threads, thus, I decided to write a step-by-step, fool proof, noob-oriented simple guide; if somebody asks again please point him/her to this thread to avoid spamming the main discussion / development threads
STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
How to update the Sony Xperia S
to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
NOTICE 1: This guide is for WINDOWS PC USERS, if you have a Mac I can't help you, but the process is very similar
NOTICE 2: It doesn't matter if your phone is rooted or not, bootloader unlocked or not, IT DOESN'T MATTER, this update has nothing to do with SIM unlock, bootloader lock / unlock, root, etc
NOTICE 3: This guide will update your Xperia S from ANY previous version to OFFICIAL SONY ICS ANDROID 4.0.4 and believe me: it is worth the update; HAT TIP TO SONY !!
NOTICE 4: The internal SD card contents will NOT be deleted but everything else inside your phone will be reseted to factory defaults because this is a major update, so do a backup if you want to keep call logs, SMS etc. I only backup my SMS and Whatsapp messages, google backed up everything else because I had the backup option activated in settings
NOTICE 5: Before asking, please read the questions and answers in the thread for many Frequently Asked Questions
Click to collapse
STEP 1:
Download the Flashtool
You will find the installers here: http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/
Go to the "installation" tab, download Flashtool installer v0.9.10.1 and run it
You will have a new folder on your PC: c:\Flashtool
STEP 2:
Download the ICS firmware update
You will find several download options here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1723610, just pick one and download it, then come back here
SOME NOTICES (I know you are gonna ask):
- I know it is "Generic Switzerland" (CH) but nevermind: it is plain Sony Generic and works fine for any region and has ALL the languages and keyboards
-The firmware is already prepared to be flashed via Flashtool in .FTF format. If the file you downloaded is .RAR then it is compressed ("zipped") and you need to EXTRACT the .FTF with WinRAR (if you don't have WinRAR download it from here: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm)
STEP 3:
Let's update the phone!
- Copy the firmware FTF file to c:\Flashtool\Firmwares
- Go to c:\Flashtool\Drivers and run "Flashtool-drivers.exe" to install the proper drivers for Xperia S
- After installing the USB drivers reboot your PC
- Go to c:\Flashtool and run "FlashTool" (if you have Windows 64 bits, run "FlashTool64")
- Click the flash button (yes: the thunder icon up left)
- Select "Flahsmode" and click "OK"
- Select the "LT26 6.1.A.0.452" firmware and click "OK", DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE
- Flashtool will prepare the files for flashing, just be patient
- A Window will pop up asking you to connect the phone in "Flashmode" showing instructions for an old Xperia phone: ignore it, here is how the Xperia S enters "Flashmode":
- Turn off the phone
- Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN key
- Keep it pressed, connect the USB cable to your PC
- Release the Volume Down key when phone's GREEN LED lights up
- Flashtool will start flashing automatically, let it finish to 100%
- Disconnect the USB cable when Flashtool reaches 100% and indicates flashing has finished giving some extra info about activating debugging mode etc (don't care, that's optional)
- Turn on your phone (press and hold the Power button for some seconds)
- The first boot takes some minutes, don't worry let your phone prepare your Ice Cream Sandwich for you
- Have fun !! :highfive:
PS1: PLEASE REMEMBER TO SAY "THANKS" to Bin4ry (for the FTF firmware) and Androxyde (for the Flashtool)
PS2: And the usual disclaimer, of course: Follow the steps and be careful, I am not responsible if you brick your phone, burn your house or blow your PC by following this guide; I am just sharing what I did to update my own phone  and it worked for me

NOTICE 2: It doesn't matter if your phone is rooted or not, bootloader unlocked or not, IT DOESN'T MATTER
STEP 1:
Download the Flashtool
You will fin the installers here: http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/
Go to the "installation" tab, download Flashtool installer v0.8.0.0 and run it
Then, download the v0.8.6.0 Update and run it
You will have a new folder on your PC: c:\flashtool\
STEP 2:
Download the ICS update firmware
You will find several download options here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1723610, just pick one and download it and come back here
SOME NOTICES (I know you are gonna ask):
- Go to c:\Flashtool\Drivers and run Flashtool-drivers.exe to install the proper drivers
- Run Flashtool
- Click the flash button (the thunder icon)
- Select "Flahsmode" and click "OK"
- Select the "LT26 6.1.A.0.452" firmware and click "OK". DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE
- Flashtool will prepare the files for flashing. Be patient.
- A Window will pop up asking you to connect the phone in Flashmode with an old Xperia phone and instructions: ignore it, here is how our shiny new Xperia S enters "Flashmode":
- Turn your phone off
- Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN key
- Keep it pressed, connect the USB cable to your PC
- Phone will have green LED indicating it is in "Flashmode"
- Flashtool will start flashing, now you can release the volume key
- Flashtool takes a couple of minutes, let it finish to 100%
- Disconnect the USB cable
- Press the Power button to turn on your phone
- Thefirst boot takes a while, dn't worry
- Have fun !!
PS: PLEASE REMEMBER TO SAY "THANKS" to Bin4ry (the guy who uploaded the firmware) and Androxyde (the guy who gave us the Flashtool)

1.- Nothing changes. This will only UPDATE the Android system, this will NOT SIM-unlock, unlock or relock bootloader, or root
2.- Yes: I sid ALL languages
3.- I don´t know (I never use it) but I guess yes you could (why not?)
We should take note of unchecking debugging mode in developments before using flashtool to upgrade if you do not want to meet several issues.

Sorry for this noob question, but
If i have a hong kong version xperia s, after flashing this Switzerland version, will it stay the same as a hong kong phone? Or it will be forever a Switzerland version? If there will be any OTA in the future, which ota update should i be expecting by that time, thank you in advance

1.- it will have switzerland version software of course, and you will be expecting OTAs from this software version, but I wouldn't recommend it
2.- you can always change your software with flashtool
but if you want to use official ways (OTA or PC Companion) then better keep the original software or reflash the original software
With flashtool you can flash this software today and return to your original software tomorrow (should an OTA appears in your region), you can change as many times as you wish

yes you can search for an already-made FTF of your software
or you can make your own with flashtool, search the forum for the how-to

Much appreciated!
And my last final question is, will this wipe out all user data and the apps? I didnt really see anything about these on the first post(If i missed any I apologize)
will the OTA/PC Companion do the same

Some users avoid wiping all user data but face issues afterwards
It ss always recommended to let the update wipe everything
PC Companion and OTA will wipe everything as well because that's the right way to make such a big update
I will add this to the guide tomorrow
PS: I use SMS backup and restore from google play to backup my SMS messages, and I backup my whatsapp messages from inside whatsapp (it has a backup option). Everything else (including settings, calls, apps, etc) is auto-restored by google
Few Questions

2)Will it Void warrenty

I presume you are on 3 branded device... unless you are looking to use 3's specific bloatware you should flash unbranded rom. At www.sammobile.com find the latest ( if you are in the UK then BTU is your choice). You'll need also Odin 3.04 (safe). Flashing is easy. In Setting enable Developer mode and tick Enable debugging. Then power off your phone. Wait a minute and enter download mode (hold volume down+home+power buttons together until phone vibrates). Then open Odin and click on PDA and add extracted .tar file. Connect your phone and let install drivers (if didn't already) ans press Start. It should take about 5 minutes. Also before and after flashing do a factory reset... Good luck.

Deep Trouble..

Hi developers,
I am in a deep trouble,
I recently bought Xperia XA2 (H4113)
Loved my device because of its efficient performance in all aspects ,
But after 10 days used i realize that the device is on security patch level 1st March 2018,
That is an usual thing i noticed ,
And after some research i found something very disappointing and horrible situation for me,
Yes... Someone makes fool me and sold a journalist version device
And that unethical seller is not in my reach now..
So conclusion is that my Lovely device can't receive any kind of software updates ever...
Anyone please help me out against this sadly situation,
Any method to flash any international version of H4113 software / firmware in my poor device, UK, US, Canadian, any version???
