WORK IN PROGRESS!!
Got some features working on my phone. Just need someone to upload stock framework-res.apk and systemUI.apk
need to go back to stock, because ive gone mental on mine and cant remember what I've changed to get it back to stock.
Working so far;
Transparent Statusbar
Modded Icons
Volume bar colour
Loading bar colour
Please help me by dropping the apk's here

Good stuff,
Get some screenshots up of what you've managed so far, and I'll get to work on getting you the APK's

If you want screens, click on my sig, its basicly the theme from my rom, but without AOSP, Extended power and overscroll. Some things may turn out different, still making some stuff

Theme is up, ENJOY!!

Please could you also share your wallpaper?
Is it possible to use the UOT Kitchen with the SGS II by removing the framework and systemUI apks from the system dump in the development section?

You can use UOT, I used it for a couple of the mods on this, only reccomendation is to pull the apk's from your phone as the system dump is from an older pre-release software

Nice work
One q: did u really have transparent statusbar on this rom?, i been trying to get this without luck.

Alright DOC! I know its off topic, but please tell me you are bringing rom kitchen to SGS II I love it
EDIT: Just looked at the site
And as for transparent statusbar, my flawless technique for getting it working is UOT kitchen. it just works! I tried manually and failed, but it is transparent, well translucent if u wanna be picky

Would be good to have the old TV box effect on lock - i thought I saw it in an earlier version. Has it been removed from this one?

Adding CRT Off anim now, sry bout that, totaly forgot

Can i just copy your Framework-res.apk over the existing one on my phone using root explorer instead of using Adb??

Ermm.. thats how I did it so i dunno.
try using this theme and editing the png's. I dont care if you use it ;P

How easy is it to go back to original from this theme???
Also whay do you do with the framework-res_0.zip - just rename it to framework-res.apk ????

how does this work becuase the system apps have .odex files.. dont you have to remove this first.. adb push will not remove them?

All the modifications that are done to the framework-res.apk can be downloaded here framework-res-MOD-CircleBattery-v0.4.zip
For firmware version 2.3.26 I had to fix an xml file else it would not compile here is the MOD framework-res-MOD-CircleBattery-v0.5.zip
The cooked framework-res.apk and services.jar can be downloaded here
framework-res.apk-CircleBattery-v0.4-FW2.1.08.zip
framework-res.apk-CircleBattery-v0.4-FW2.3.20.zip
framework-res.apk-CircleBattery-v0.5-FW2.3.26.zip
Installation instructions
Needless to say, only attempt this if you are comfortable modifying system files. As we are using the SDE for this, the potential risk of bricking/ irreversible damage is low, but you should still have some idea what you're doing! (Warning stolen from fisha21)
unzip framework-res_vx.x.apk.zip and copy the framework-res.apk and services.jar to /sdcard/
with adb execute the following commands
Code:
adb push framework-res.apk /sdcard/
adb push services.jar /sdcard/
adb shell
su
stop
cp /sdcard/framework-res.apk /system/framework/
cp /sdcard/services.jar /system/framework/
sync
start
ATTENTION after the start command it can take up to 5 mins depending the number of apps installed because the dalvik cache must be regenerated.
Version 0.5
Fix to xml file to make it compile for FW 2.3.26
Version 0.4
Better charging animation for 100% battery full
Version 0.3
Better charging animation
Gradiant colors
This was tested on A70IT with firmware 2.1.08 but should work on any gen8 device with the same firmware.
Reserved for future use.

Thxs It took me 2 full days to figure out how to re-compile a framework-res.apk the posts on xda are scattered all over the place and nothing is very clear what the exect procedure should be. so.......
Today I finaly got some scripts together with apktools to automate the stuff.

Well i hate GUI for things like that and with Wifi ADB it's simple.
nice, anychance of having the circle with the % number in the middle?

Difficult. I can't find anything in the xml files that control the placement of the text in the battery. I'm looking in services.jar if I can fully disable the percent text.
you wouldnt need to add system text, just put the text as numbers within each of the 100 circle images you are using. its been done on loadso f other phones already you could probably just use the images from them.

Yes I know that BUT the default battery percentage will be overlaid on the images so still the same problem.
ah so that means that the mod as it stands already does have the % battery life in numbers in the middle? why didnt you say?

Sorry Need to add that part but if you look at the bugs it's mentioned there. Need to add it more clearly.
I'm working on a fix for the percentage but that means decompiling service.jar and hacking the davlik code.
Added v0.2 with the percentage in the icons instead of seperate text.
anyone know how this looks on a70 with pixel density 130? maybe a screenshot. the stock battery and wifi are nearly unreadable.
any way of combining the mods from fisha21's framework modifications and this?

I'll talk to him about it. He's having problems with the compile process at the moment I've given him some pointers.
i tried the UOT once again over a heavenly allready modified framework-res.apk and it made a beautiful batt-circle, booted:
BUT: all google apps and some apps in the notification bar crash immidiatly.
didn't try to clear dalvik for now - could help maybe.
maybe its because the UOT renames all dirs and the app to *-v4? and writes the animatated symbols to drawable-hdpi instead of mdpi?

Certainly, should be ready for you in the next couple of days!
Turns out the main issues I was having were due to Uruk 0.7. For some reason, Uruk 0.7 installed to internal SD doesn't appear to be compatible with framework modification (as far as I can tell).
Added v0.3 with gradient colors and better charging animation.
Version 0.4
Better charging animation for 100% battery full
Just curious - did you manage to get UOT to generate the mdpi resolution images, or did you resize the hdpi ones manually?

[MOD] Greener SystemUI.apk & battery mod / CRT effect for XWKE2/KE7/KF1/KF3/XXKG1/2/6

[MOD] Greener SystemUI.apk & battery mod / CRT effect for XWKE2/KE7/KF1/KF3/XXKG1/2/6
I made a quick mod to alter some of the icons from SystemUI.apk so that the icons turn green when you're fully connected to Google's network รก la nexus phones.
The network data icons were modded using paint.net, and are a bit flat (but they look okay - original icons had 2 tone grey, haven't had time to make it look as pretty as they were ) and the wifi and reception icons are that of stock 2.3
Installation is manual because we don't have a flash-friendly recovery yet. You have to rename your chosen file to SytemUI.apk and then push it to /system/app and restart your phone. However, all newer mods will be CWM flashable
I have also modified the framework-res.apk to have the CRT screen off animation.

}
Above is a pic of how the reception and wifi icons are when fully connected.
Make sure you extract (if compressed) and or rename the files before pushing them.
Guide: If you have an insecure recovery, you can do this as long as you open your command shell where the framework-res.apk file and SystemUI.apk file is.
Code:
adb remount
adb shell stop
adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/
adb push SystemUI.apk /system/app/
adb reboot
If you do not have a secure recovery, you can paste them over the existing files using Root Explorer, but this is an unsafe method, and might cause your Google Account settings to disappear from Accounts & Sync.
-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-
I've also added a circle battery mod with battery percentage & CRT effect.
The icons are gingerbread green from 100-30%, then orange from 29-15 and red from 14-0.
I had a few mods up for KE1, but hardly anyone still uses that FW, and it was pulled. If you're on KDD, I suggest upgrading to KE7
-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-
Bugs: CRT anim is sometimes Garbled. Not sure why it happens, and a fix for it is not currently know.
VillainROM users: Install battery mod or CRT anim via the VillainTweaks app. Don't install this version, it won't work, and you'll get a TON of force closes. Pulser is adding the SystemUI.apk file to VillainTweaks too - This only effected earlier versions of VR
-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-
SystemUI - KE2.apk - This is the tweak to make the icons go green. Rename to SystemUI.apk and push to phone if you have KE2. For KE7, use the KE7 mod.
framework-res KE2 improved stock.apk - This is the stock KE2 framework-res.apk with a few of the battery icons changed. Does not have CRT effect. Rename to framework-res.apk and push to phone if you have KE2. For KE7, use the KE7 mod.
Battery mod XWKE2 circle battery mod fixed.zip - This is a circle battery mod for KE2. It is Gingerbread green from 100-30, then orange from 29-15, and red from 14-0%. unzip the file, and push the framework-res.apk file to your phone. Does not contain CRT effect.
unsignedframework-res KE7 CRT.apk - This is the stock KE7 framework-res.apk with a few of the battery icons changed and the CRT effect enabled. Rename to framework-res.apk and push to phone if you have KE7.
SystemUI KE7.apk - This is the tweak to make the icons go green. Rename to SystemUI.apk and push to phone if you have KE2.
framework-res KE7 battery mod and CRT fixed.zip - This is a circle battery mod for KE7. It is Gingerbread green from 100-30, then orange from 29-15, and red from 14-0%. unzip the file, and push the framework-res.apk file to your phone. It also contains the CRT anim.
KF3.zip contains CRT anim, + green icons, and nexus wifi signal icons, as well as a data toggle in the notification toggle Flash via CWM. Non-deodexed AKA stock ROMs ONLY.
SystemUI KE7 DEODEXED.apk - This file is to be used if you have VillainROM v1.1 (It's villainROM only atm because it has different signing. Will not work on Lightening ROM.) lightening ROM users, click here for your compatible SystemUI.apk file.
XWKF1 Battery Mod and CRT and Greener SystemUI CWM flashable.zip isn't working in CWM, likely because I screwed up the flash script.
You can still push the files manually, and I'll upload a fixed zip later today.
Seems like my zip was corrupt, and ChainFire has posted a fixed version for XWKF1 here.
CRT anim and green SystemUI.apk as a flashable zip for XXKG1 here.
CRT anim and green SystemUI.apk as a flashable zip for XXKG2 here.
CRT anim and green SystemUI.apk as a flashable zip for XXKG6 here.

also do the bars/icons change to green when connected and grey when not?
is this a reversible mod? i.e. uninstall, returns to normal?

See the WiFi indicator/GSM meter is green? This means it's fully connected to Google services (image curtesy of Paul O'Brien @ MoDaCo)
Is that the actual icon from this mod? How do you know Paul's running it?

Probably did it via adb
Exactly... If you are fast enough, you can do adb remount+ adb push the file back before the device reboots in the bootloop... Then it will boot normally... I did however lose all my account settings, but not absolutely sure it was because of the file pushed...
does your device have to be rooted to apply this?

Usually the icons turn green when a connection to google/sync is established..so without wifi the signal bars should stay grey

you can use uot kitchen, but use framework-res.apk from villain rom as the base.
Trying to port themes to villain
still have some bugs anyway
All thanks goes to :
ak1k4zu and mancunianec
You can apply it in recovery mode.

Unfortunately i don't have original file backup (just have framework-res.apk), but someone uploading it in kaskus (will post it later)

what about the SystemUI? I tried using framework-res.apk from villainrom as the base, but same thing happened... the status/notification bar dissappeared. I just wanted to change the battery icon..
after a little exploration, I manage to overcome it by replacing the .png files of the batt icon.. but still, I wonder how you guys manage to use UOT without dissappearing the notif bar
you can use KPE base at UOT, but after finished with UOT, then you copy the image manually from framework-res & systemUI generated from UOT to framework-res & systemUI at villainrom

WOOOW great ! THANX
easy to install, really beautyful icons. love it.
thank you verry much drgopoos.
thanks for the great work
actually it's kind easy to make these
you just have to pull the original apk from your rom that contains the icons and take what ever themed apk you like then:
1-extract the themed apk with 7-zip
2-open the original apk with 7-zip and i mean just open do not extract
3-check the folders for the icon you want then select all the icons that you need (but do not select any XML file) and then drag them to same folder in the original apk
4-make sure to drag the icons to the correct folder otherwise it will not work
5-replace the apk to its folder on the device or if you have a flashable zip then put it in the correct folder in the flashable zip then flash it with CWM
this is how i do it to get my themed apks

As close as I could get it. I took the signal bars .Png file out of cognition and opened it in photoshop. Hovering the mouse over these bars gave me a color code which I used to bake it. It should be very close but looks a touch off. I think it is because of the white letters and border of the batt icon... like an optical illusion. I left the color code at my office or else id have you try it out too. But I think it looks good enough to keep.

[MOD] Transparent lockscreen

Thought i'd pay something back for all i've learned here on xda-developers (something simple, i'm still learning ). So here are some transparent lockscreens for various roms. The lockscreens are completely transparent (10% opacity) except for the clock and the charging indicator. The files below are for unmodded / unthemed roms. If you want one for your theme, or one not in the list below, let me know.
Thanks to Lg_X_Modderer for pointing me in the right direction about how to make the lockscreen transparent. Thanks to everyone else who explained how to edit apk's and make flashable zip's etc.
Install through CMW from recovery.
If you previously have set a lockscreen wallpaper through the gallery, remove the file from /data/data/com.cooliris.media/files (with for example root-explorer).
Use at own risk, do a nandroid backup before flashing.

If you want to do it yourself, here's how:
I use notepad++ for editing, but any editor will work. Use apkmanager to decompile / compile framework-res.apk.
Edit res/layout/keyguard_screen_tab_unlock.xml.
In line 2 replace android:background="@color/background_dark" with android:background="@drawable/default_wallpaper".
In line 5 replace android:background="#30000000" with android:background="@color/transparent".
In line 12 replace android:layout_marginBottom="80.0dip" to android:layout_marginBottom="0.0dip".
Edit res/layout/zzz_keyguard_screen_lockscreenwallpaper.xml.
In line 2 replace android:background="#ff000000" with android:background="@color/transparent".
In res/drawable-hdpi:
Replace default_wallpaper.jpg with default_wallpaper.png. Replace zzzzzzzz_default_lockscreenw.jpg with transparent zzzzzzzz_default_lockscreenw.png (can be any png size 480x800).
Thats it.
sir, just a question...
currently, i have achieved a transparent lockscreen by setting a transparent picture file as my lockscreen wallpaper.
may i ask, what would be the difference with your method?
thank you in advance.
Well, according to this post, that didn't work. So i made changes to the framework-res.apk following Lg_X_Modderer's instructions and made the flashable zip's.
Well this is exactly what ive been wanting for my clear glass theme.
Wasnt able to achieve it myself. Can you make it work for my theme?
What do you need? the framework-res.apk?
Thanks alot.
Yes, the framework-res.apk is all I need.

Forgot to ask, is this for a odexed or deodexed rom? I'll include instructons when i return the file. Also got this when i decompiled your framework-res.apk: "Cant find 9patch chunk in file: "drawable-hdpi/status_bar_item_background_pressed.9.png". Renaming it to *.png". This needs fixing.
Oh im just fixing that file now. must have slipped by.
Villain 2.4.2 is deodexed i believe. Ill just check.
Im going to upload the fixed framework in a min.
Edit : ok .9png fixed. i just tested, decompiles fine.
And its Deodexed.
Thanks again and sorry about the mess up.
No problem.

Whoop! Thanks alot. Off I go to flash. Ill let you know how I get on.
edit : small question, does that mean any wallpaper i set will be transparent or only the default one?
Every wallpaper you set using the gallery will have a black background. Haven't found a way to do that yet.

As far as i know every rom without transparent lockscreen support will display a black background that way. Atleast it does on lite'ning 6.1 (which i'm using right now).
ok cool. only problem im having is that it keeps my current lockscreen wallpaper and doesnt revert to the framework one. how do I put it back to the default one?
Browse to /data/data/com.cooliris.media/files and delete or move the current wallpaper file. (Atleast that works for me)
Thanks for the info. Maybe that could go on the first page to avoid confusion.
All working perfectly though. As a transparency maniac I love this!
Now I just need to figure out how to make backgrounds for contacts, mms, settings and phone transparent.
Heres a screenshot, add it to the front page, dont, your call.
