Screen Protectors - The good and the not so good - Galaxy S II Accessories

If you have purchased Screen Protectors off Ebay (or anywhere), post a link, a pic, and whether you like them or not.
I bought:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280665594632
-They are ok, I've had better.
-They have the three step approach (take 1 cover off, stick it down, take 2nd cover off.)
-The holes for speaker and sensor don't line up properly. I'll take a pic at some point

After a few hours use I can safely say the above screen protectors are terrible. you just have to run your fingernail across them and they scratch. I will be asking for a refund for sure.

The Savvies Screen protectors (ebay - 180660459805) are also terrible. The cuts for the home button, speaker and front camera dont match up.

i go one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6-x-LCD-SCREEN-PROTECTOR-SAMSUNG-I9100-GALAXY-S-II-/270726135062?pt=UK_MobilePhones_MobilePhonesCasesPouches&hash=item3f0888fd16
Seems pritty good apart from the camera hole is slightly off. Waxed it as well as it wasnt very slippy. No scratches and you can hardly tell its there apart from the 1 bubble

Stay away from the savvy one. It's a ****ty screen protector ! does not fit at all !

The Vikuiti ones (both the ADQC27 & DQC160) ordered from DISAGU via Amazon, do not fit properly I'm afraid.
The ones I purchased were just a fraction too long and so would have to overlap the bezel slightly, which would be unsightly (air pocket) and not make for a particularly secure fit.
Here's hoping SGP decide to make their Oleophobic ones for the i9100...

Got the same and can confirm the front camera hole is off but seems to be fine for a cheap protector until something better comes out.

anyone tried the xtremeguard screen protectors? Ive got one coming hopefully soon.

I have a Brando Ultra Clear here, but still waiting for my phone
Looks like the holes are in the proper place do, but can't judge exactly.

I bought this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110676862121&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
bad fit on FFC, means the protector has to be angled to line up with the home button... even if it was straight, theres a good 1-2mm gap around the protector and tbh i don't think i'd bother unless the protector was flush to the end or at least 0.5mm or less gap...
I had a HTC branded protector on my Hero and it was a perfect fit... anyone know if Samsung do the same? or did for the SGS etc??

I left my review -- stay away and save your $1.99 for a cup of coffee!

Fit is usually excellent with the SGP ones and then inclusion of a Camera lens protector is a nice addition.
However the Oleophobic qualities aren't especially obvious.
Another thing to note though --an email reply from SGP a couple of days ago indicated that they hadn't yet decided whether to offer an SGS2 accessories yet.
Assuming they do, given the popularity of this model, we may be in for a bit of a wait.

This site has SGP screen protectors for the Galaxy S 2. There are 3 to choose from, ultra crystal, ultra optic anti-fingerprints and oleophobic anti-fingerprints.

Very odd, as I receive the following from the SGPstore a few days ago.
I guess SGP and the SGPstore aren't joined at the hip.
"Thank you for contacting SGPstore.com Customer Service Department.
Hi, my name is Lynn from SGPstore.com.
We are still deciding whether we are going to have products for Samsung Galaxy S II.
Please stay tuned with us and check our website."
ExportPrive are a legit site, in so far as they will send out the goods.
However, I had a bad experience with them a few months ago where they sent me the incorrect leather SGS1 case.
3 months later, despite promises, they still hadn't refunded.
I had to contact my CC provider to claim the funds back in the end.

They will probably have it soon, it's available on SGP Market (Korean SGP site).

99p protectors on ebay are a no go, they are absolutely bubbletastic!

Zagg Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 InvisibleSheild

Because I'm brave and they're giving me the Invisible Shield and a 50 dollar credit, I'm sending my GT-P7510 to Zagg to have them design an InvisibleShield product for it. It should go to them tomorrow and they said it takes them 24hrs to do the measurements and send the product back.
So Zagg may be the first ones that actually get a specifically designed Screen and full body sheild out for the thin GT10 model.
I'll keep everyone posted with what they tell me.
Wow thanks for doing this
I agree with kentoe, thanks a lot!
Hopefully accessory makers will start to notice the 10.1 over the next few weeks
Awesome. Surprised they hadnt requested the measurements directly from Samsung though. Although, being able to test skins on an actual device will be helpful.
They shouldve sent someone to I/O lol
I got the GT-P7510 back this morning. Zagg did a good job with it. It doesnt cover the silver bezel except on the top edge of the device. They also cut out holes for the camera and light sensor on front and back.
Im guessing it will hit the Zagg website here pretty soon.

Well, I've had it on my device for a week or more at this point. I honestly don't like the way the material feels at all. I've normally avoided the Zagg branded products in the past instead ordering from Bestskinsever.com. Because they were cheaper mostly.
It feels like the Zagg material is far too tacky and textured. Im hoping it hardens a little with time and smooths out. And for being "self healing" it didn't make it through the first trip in my computer brief on a plane without a very noticeable pinhead sized gash. It definitely hasn't healed yet. It also collects finger prints easily and they don't come off quickly at all.
They gave me a $100 in free gift cards which i proceeded to order covers for about every random gadget I own. Maybe they feel better than what the GT10 is covered in.
From a protection standpoint it seems to be doing its job though. I suppose that's the foremost reason any of us order the protectors. As for the release, I have no idea. Send them an email, they seem pretty good about replies.

Tab 10.1 invisibleSHIELD now available
When I checked earlier this week, I couldn't find an invisibleSHIELD for the Tab on Zagg's site except the one that appeared to be for the 7 inch, so I emailed them. Lo and behold, I received a reply today, and the shield for the 10.1 is now on the site!
(and, I can't post the link because I'm new.)
I've had an invisibleSHIELD on my iPod touch (3rd gen) since about a week after I got it. Yes, the feel is closer to "tacky" rather than the slick glass-only feel of the bare iPod, and I imagine it will be the same on the Tab. I actually prefer this - I kept being afraid I would drop my iPod.
I haven't had a problem cleaning it. Rubbing firmly on my pants leg is usually enough to clear the fingerprint buildup, and when the surface starts feeling icky I use a very, very slightly damp paper towel to clean it. Honestly, before I got the Shield, I didn't like the feel of the screen, but I have oily skin, so I leave lots of fingerprints behind. I also have not had a problem with the shield being damaged, beyond my deliberate efforts (see below).
So I don't sound like a commercial for Zagg... Be aware that the shield material doesn't handle rounded corners well. I had to trim the corners on my iPod's shield where they had pulled away and picked up pocket lint. Looks like they're avoiding that issue on the Tab's skin by not covering the edge. The shield also reduced the sensitivity of the touch screen - only slightly, but noticeably.
This is the link.

Anyone order one of these and have it shipped yet? I placed an order on June 15 but the order hasn't even processed yet and I'm still waiting for them to get back to my email.

$30 for 10cents worth of plastic for just the front ($40 for front and back). They're nuts. Bodyguardz is $20, Kinomi is $16 and there is some cheap junk on eBay for $5. I'll either wait for a 50% off Zagg coupon or wrap it in saran wrap!
I bought one of these on release day. By 9pm that night I had already torn it off... felt like a 2 inch thick sheet of rubber tbh.
I've used Zagg in the past and it works, but for devices with gorilla glass like the 10.1 it's not necesary.
The back I think is the part that needs the protection.
I have a Zagg shield on my phone (Samsung Fascinate) and I love it. But I don't think I'm going to put one on my Tab. For starters, I think phones and other smaller devices (iPods, etc.) are much more prone to drops and other things that could cause scratches. And I've ordered the Samsung book cover case for my Tab, so that should protect the back and the screen reasonably well.

But I haven't heard anything about shipping yet so not sure when I'll get it.

Another reason why SGP/Spigen is awesome... [screen protector and brand]

I've had great experience with Steinheil screen protectors by SGP in the past.
I ordered the Ultra Crystal for the s3 and just received it. See my attached photos.
Their presentation PLUS customer service touch is awesome.
They even used some sort of birthday wrapping for my package and got a HAND WRITTEN post it note from them.
I have never gotten anything like this from any other companies.
(Yes the package is bent, but thats from the mail - not their fault. Their packaging was actually pretty large and was lined with bubble wrap. I will just leave them under a dictionary for a bit and they will be fine. I wont get the phone until 27th anyway)
Where I bought from - http://www.ebay.ca/itm/SPIGEN-SGP-S...ccessories&hash=item3f17719a53#ht_3939wt_1163
Yeah their products are definitely top notch. Has anyone else pre-ordered an SGP Optics screen protector and heard anything about the dates yet?
I wish that they'll change their mind (workout the problems), and eventually release the Ultra Oleophobic too.
@Wond3r
Can you post a picture of your S3 after you apply the screen protector ?

I would like to say SGP screen protector simply the best on current market.
It's very good on touch sensitivity and sliding smoothness across it.

I actually ordered it off ebay, but it was from the SGP usa seller. So still technically from them.
ya i love SPG product except i don't deal with the own website no more.. i ordered a one x screen protector and been asking for them to send me another one since the original ones were poorly designed and doesn't stick to the curve edge.. told me they sent me another one but don't have tracking numbers for it.. and won't send me another one and said if you want refund u can send as back your original but make sure you ship with tracking or there's no way they'll know they receive it or not... so ya i gave up dealing with their website and ordered my s3 from one of their resellers instead ~~
Love SGP screen protectors. Have they mentioned anything about making an actual glass protector like the glass.t?
I'll be ordering one of their flip cases also. Think they look better than the official flip case, and the Zenus flip cases look gaudy.

Best Screen Protector?

I would like to purchase a/some screen protectors.
It should be similar in feel to the glass that is factory.
Now what is the best screen protector?
1-did you use screen protector before?
2-do you prefer matte or clear?
3-do you have the recommended screen protector on your GS3 now?
4-are the edges laying down?
5-does it feel like glass?
6-wet or dry application?
Please help me!

Xtreme Guard is basically a ZAGG Invisible Shield clone. They just don't do the fancy packaging, spray bottle and squeegee. They don't have the over head and costs as ZAGG. They also don't have a lifetime warranty. But for the price, you can purchase 6 - 10 screen protectors for the same price of the ZAGG. You'll go through 2-3 tops and it's a annoying process to get a replacement. They request CC info and all, then expect you to send back the original.
I worked at Best Buy and had them on my phones since the LG Dare days.
Just save the money and get the Xtreme Guard. It offers the same protection.

Without a doubt, Skinomi. One of my favorite companies to deal with as well. Stellar products.
I've used the Flex HD but the orange peel effect is kind of annoying. The adhesive used, as it dries up, turns into a rainbow colored crystal blotches and it just ruins the clarity of the stock screen. They are not readily visible but tilting your phone at certain angles will make them show up. I also used the Zagg Invisible Shield but the adhesive did not work well for me after I put on the Cruzerlite case. The case, due to its tight fit, lifted all the corners of the Zagg off the phone:crying: so now its removed. For $20 from BB, you only get one film. I am waiting for the Steinheil Nano right now. I believe this a dry application and is cut smaller than the screen.

Anker® Tempered-Glass Screen Protector

Installed last night and very impressed. Had 3 small patches of spider web, 2 of which have gone on their own and the 3rd is hardly noticeable and I have a feeling this will go too.
There's a slight lift around the edges of the earpiece, I guess that's down to the glass on the phone not being completely flat.
I've had a Spigen tr and a Nillkin, neither of which went on as well as the Anker - although that could be just me having more practice!
Oleophobic coating is also working nicely, a few smears but overall very good indeed.
I'd definitely recommend one especially if you don't want to pay the premium for Spigen.

Just put mine on yesterday and only ended up with one small bubble in the top left area of the phone and no spider webs (w00t w00t!)
I have it paired with a Spigen Slim Armor and it fits on JUST about right. Not sure if it's putting pressure on the glass screen but it looks like it fits perfectly. We'll see how long it lasts with it.
Texture on the glass screen is amazing. Neither I or my co-workers could feel any type of difference.
bought this and have small spiderweb at bottom.. still happy, very high quality.
hope sw goes away after time.
I agree, wish I could find these in canada. $15 bucks I'm willing to spend, $35 not so much.

if you don't care waiting a few weeks, you can buy this Glass-M (0.15mm) for 19.99$ US free shipping to canada :

I just installed mine tonight. I love it. Feels great and have no issues with the touch screen.
I could have lined up the protector a little better, but despite that I only have a couple a small air bubbles that should go away.
I highly recommend it! I just wish my cruzerlite case would still work with it. Oh well...

Shame about the cases not working well.. Spigen Hybrid is fine, not noticed any issues as yet.
Can you please provide some pictures? :good:
How thick is this screen protector?
I'll take some later :good:
0.38mm I think, feels very nice though.. not too thick at all.
Many thanks!
I can't seem to find the UK or German amazon site for this?
How does it compare to Mime Ghost glass?

No...Look to the title. This is the link to "Anker® Screen Protector for Google Nexus 5 [3 Pack] Xtreme Scratch Defender Ultra-Clear High-Response Premium with Lifetime Warranty"
The Pet film screenprotectors....
Oh that's weird.. The link came from my order confirmation from Amazon for the glass protector! I didn't read it, just assumed it would be correct.. I guess they aren't selling therm.
Edit: ha just noticed that the original link in the first post goes to the wrong item now too.. Ah well.

I'm wondering when they are selling them again. I'm doubting between Anker or Mime Ghost screen. Which one is better? Anker offers lifetime warranty though!
Not sure, I've not used the Mime yet.. Only this, the Spigen and the Nillkin. The Anker has been the best so far, it's still on my phone and not chipped, which is an improvement!

i got one recently about 2 weeks ago, and for some reason i got a huge bubble spider looking web about half inch on the bottom of my screen and about 2 small spider webs which i didnt mind too much. I contacted them through amazon since supposedly they're bubble "free". This is the reponse i got
"Thanks for the response and sorry for the issue.
Actually we have had this issue reported and we are currently investigating it with our suppliers as it seems to be a batch issue. A replacement as much as I would have liked to make, it's not a viable option.
May I ask a second chance to make things right by issuing a refund? We will further process once we get your consent."
Ever since then the screen protector is not available, i didnt want a refund because i liked the screen protector but that half inch bubble its getting on my nerves. So i went ahead and accepted the refund will be trying Nilkin i guess.
I got this screen protector a couple weeks ago, too, and I have a big bubble at the bottom that hasn't gone away. I just called and they said they have made some manufacturing changes to the protector which should (hopefully) resolve the bubble problems. However, the new batch won't be ready for 1-2 weeks.
I am going to wait for a new one. They will call me when they are ready to be shipped.

Zagg Glass/Sapphire Glass Curve

PSA:
Available for pre-order now. I, personally, will be making do with my Amazon protector until reviews are out, but they appear to believe they've knocked the issues with lifting edges.

If it works, with no edge-lift and no rainbow (especially compared to the selection available for the S7), it's worth every penny and they can have my money!
Does it have a warranty like the plastic covers?

The Iphone Sapphire one got bad reviews and didn't seem to fare well on the youtube drop test. Let us know how it works for you.
Let just hope it is better than the iphone one.
This are for the iphone but could help.

We'll have to wait and see how the S8 zagg Sapphire one does.

I'm not sure about the drop test, but i can tell you from experience with MULTIPLE replacements on two phones that, at least on the iPhone, the Sapphire glass was complete GARBAGE. I had mine replaced monthly through Zagg until finally i decided to take a loss and have the replace it with the standard Glass+ version. Surprisingly, the Glass+ was far superior. Dont buy into the sapphire hype. That thing was so riddled with scratches after a weeks use that it was hard to look at. As a matter of fact, i almost felt like looking at it was causing the scratches. They would be hard pressed to ever convince me that its a good product. If, and its a big IF this version adheres to the screen better than the other options, i might consider it, but again thats a big if.
You might want to check your local Best Buy, i noticed they had some stock of the Zagg Glass screen protectors at my local store in Savannah....
Total trash again, I just left T-Mobile and the guy tried to put on two of them. First one lifted on its own in the center , second one same thing clicking Center non-responsive joke don't waste your time guys
I'm SOOOOOO glad I found this thread. They're pushing it when I ordered the Mophie for the S8+. I didn't know that Mophie owns Zagg. I'm happy with the one I bought from Luvvitt and it was $9.

The adhesive is only around the edges, and they lift up. Check into the Whitestone Curved Dome for S8/S8+
