Evo Motorcycle Mount - EVO 4G Accessories

I finally found a great solution for mounting my Evo on my motorcycle for GPS and musical entertainment!
Got a custom molded cradle that holds my phone with its protective case as well from here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/SlipGrip-RAM-HOL-Holder-Sprint-HTC-EVO-4G-Phone-Case-On-/400195182898
I found several other options, but this one seemed to be the most secure. Also lots of other mounts would have required that I remove my phone from it's case each time I wanted to mount it, a total pain in the rear.
That mates up to this Ram Mount:

I then installed a 12v outlet and ran a headphone extension under my tank and out under my seat. I use this instead of Bluetooth with my Etymotic ER-6i headphones because they also protect my hearing from road noise while on a long ride. One could just as easily use this setup with Bluetooth headphones as well.

So now I have this..

Looks good. I've been contemplating something similar but I'm terrified it will slingshot out of the holder on a twisty or something.
For now I think I'm going to go with a jacket pocket that zips and a bluetooth helmet setup.

The riding pic there is me on the Dragon with it mounted. It doesn't get more twisty than that!
I did a 430 mile run that included Cherohala Skyway, Tail of the Dragon and then back down 28 though Highlands, NC with no issues at all.
For those interested, this is all from The Tail of the Dragon:

Thats a great mount. Nice job! I just recently did something similar for my cruiser, except i mounted a spare otterbox belt clip to the mount on my bike that way i can pop the phone into the cradle otterbox defender and all.

looks good!

I made mine with a stiff rubber case, some pieces for a bicycle rack and zip ties. I have been on some gnarly roads and it hasn't even come close to popping out. Though it did screw with my screen protector

The PERFECT bike mount

25 bucks from Gomadic.com. It clamps to the handlebars nicely and is very secure. The holder holds the phone very very securely too i could barely pull it out of there if i really wanted to. Its very adjustable and swivels for horizontal and vertical placement.
Took it for a test ride today for about a half hour hit the highway and at 120 the thing was solid! Wasnt gonna budge. Got home and it was still solid and didnt loosen up or anything. Not bad for 25 bucks.
Also got a vent mount for my car so i can take the holder from bike to car by just snapping it on and off.
I'll post some pics of that tomorrow in "the perfect car mount" thread.

Thanks for pointing this out. After reading your post I put one of these on my Christmas wish list and I got one this past weekend Now I need to go get the arm for the windshield mount and I'll be all set no matter how I'm getting around
WTF DUDE YOU JACKED MY THREAD TITLE!!!!1!!
jk. looks pretty good. now that my CAR has the "PERFECT" mount, i may consider something like this for when it gets warm enough for motorcycling in the fair state of ct.

I think I found the perfect stand!

http://placewiz.com/Stand.php
Just got it set up with my GT 10.1. The beauty of the stand is the fact that I can have my Samsung Book Cover Case installed on the tab, have the charging cable plugged into the bottom of the tab, and have the tablet on the stand with the volume controls and 3.5 jack on the top. Almost every stand I have found did not have enough room for the connector to be installed while placed on the stand, but this one fixed that for me, at a grand total of $10 on ebay!

Galaxy Tab with stand, charging.
wow that is so awesome!
seems nice... how sturdy is it? did you try any other stands or was this the first one you got?
personally I dont need the ability to charge it while on the stand, so sturdiness is the name of the game for me, so i've been thinking about the Arkon but maybe this is even better... just curious if you tried the Arkon out also?
Regarding how sturdy it is... for me, it's perfectly fine. The problem I found is I keep my desk clean with pledge, which makes the surface too slippery and the stand itself doesn't have any way to grip. I think I will just stop down at the local hobby store and find some sort of rubber strip I can put on the feet of the stand to have it stop sliding. Besides that, I only get a minor wobble when tapping the screen, but only at the top, and only if I press abnormally hard. For $10 you can't beat it.
nice 10char
Just bought one.
That looks really nice.

I have the Arkon, it's very sturdy, very adjustable. It's made of some sort of hard plastic/polymer, with foam cushion layer on the bottom so it doesn't slide and where it touches the tablet. The only issue is the tablet sits too low for the charge connector in landscape mode.

Amazon Link:http://tinyurl.com/3n8y64p
Ordered this mount for my wife's car, I use a ProClip unit in my car, seems to work pretty well for what it is. Mountek has them available on Amazon every weekday at 07:00 PST, I ordered mine at 08:15 PST and there were only eight left. I paid $23.90 shipped (USPS first class). I am hoping that it will fit my HTC (with extended battery) as well as my wife's OG Droid. I am not too worried about blocking any radio controls while in use because they are all mirrored on the steering wheel. She was pretty adamant about having something that was removable, and I can't stand the windshield mounts that are available.
Anyone else have any experience with these?
(Here is the video from their site)
Here is the box from USPS, shipped received about a week after ordering. Included was the mount, a piece of adhesive foam, and small instruction sheet.
The mount seems to be built fairly well
This tabbed area inserts into the compact disc slot, then the knob is twisted to expand until "firm" The tabs are soft, so no marring the CD slot.
Here is the adhesive pad. The bottom rest is removable to work with a variety of electronics.
Here is my OG Droid mounted, and then the Vigor with the standard battery.
Here is the side profile with the standard battery cover. As a refresher here is the difference between the standard and extended battery covers...
Here is the mount without the bottom plate, holding the Vigor with the extended battery cover.
Here is me shaking it, with the extended battery, no problems with is falling out. Here is a top down view of the foam sides holding the Vigor.
I don't have my wife's car right now, but here is the mount in my Civic (06-11)...
To those unfamiliar, the Civic had a cd slot that is at a angle, here is with the mount installed.
Now with the Vigor installed (with extended battery) portrait and landscape.
Overall I think it is going to work well. I will update this review if I have any issues...

Sturdy car mount for Galaxy S2, with Case mate tough and doesnt cover the camera

Hi Guys
I am really struggling to find what I am looking for and am hoping someone might be able to help me.
I have a Galaxy S2 that has an 2000mah extended battery installed and a Case Mate Tough case.
I am looking for a sturdy car mount that will allow me to leave the case on but also does not cover the camera lens.
Any suggestions?
(PS.. the reason I dont want to take the case off each time is that to get the extended battery to fit under the tough case you have to leave the phone back off or it doesnt fit.
No one had any suggestions at all?

Having used quite a few car mounts I found the Tetrax Xway by far the best. Takes absolutely no effort to put your phone onto the mount and you can also use it for any next phone / tablet that you buy. It's also extremely sturdy, yet easy to take out the phone.
Wanted to link to the product, but since I am a new user I cant.. Lots of stuff you can find on youtube though. Try the galaxy tab one if you really want to be convinced of its sturdyness
Only downside is that you have to stick something to the back of your phone(case). Hasn't really bothered me though, but some people are a little OCD on aesthetics.
Edit:
One thing I forgot to mention is that this mount is also very easy to remove and should fit in almost any car since it uses the car vents. Very easy to install + remove.
exomount here. had mine ages, no lack of grip, survives a car with 20year old suspenion (classic mini) driving over terrible pot holed roads (Wales...).
We even fitted it to my brother's Rallycross car for some in car footage.
There's a Garmin rubber Base that you could place upon the Car Tableau the good thing about it that the device won't shake and move a lot while driving
35543-supergrip-samsung-galaxy-s3-case-compatible-car-pack
haven't used it, but looks interesting

For those looking for a bike mount.

You should really think about getting the Ram Mount.

I have been using this for about a week now and I am in love. The arm piece is just a little long bit it mounts perfectly to the bike and doesn't move.
I now have my phone mounted with my its protective gel case for my speakerphone listening pleasure while I ride.

I will attach a picture of the mount on the bike later.

Which model is this, and on what type of bike are you mounting it? I've been looking for a solid bike mount.
Here are a few more pictures to get a view of the bike and how it's mounted.

The bike is a hybrid mount road bike that I use for a 6 mile (each way 5 day a week commute). I use the phone as a speaker for music and GPS when needed. The mount has three types of prongs that re of different length depending on the size of your device. The mount is originally made for a motorcycle but the base is for a bicycle. I use the mount with my casemate case and it fits snuggley. I bought it from Amazon for $41.27, which I think is a steal considering that I could fit all types of device on believe it will last at least two to three years with regular use based on the strength of the material. You can easily take the mount and the arm off the bike so that it wont be easily stolen and you have to screw the based on to your bike.
If you do happen to buy one the instructions are not very clear, but the screws go through the bottom of the holder and the nuts though the top.
Well worth the money in my opinion. You can even buy other bases that will go in your car or on other bikes or other areas.
Very happy with this...
