Jailbreaking Kin 2m! - KIN Two Software Development

Does anyone know how to jailbreak the kin 2m? Any easy to use programs? Preferably to be able to get apps and have a marketplace? If anyone can find a good way that works I would be willing to give you $5-10 via paypal?

FGS, read the fu##ing forum before posting.....

There is currently no way to hack this phone at all. As of right now its impossible. People are trying to work on it but are having no luck. Microsoft & Sharp has dropped this phone and are no longer supporting it.
They also will not release what we need to make the phone Open Source so anyone can hack it. At this point until someone steps in that is above who who we have righ now to Officially hack the phone I would not count on anything being done.
No offense to those who are trying but at this point I just cant see the phone being hacked

I hope I don't have to comment on why this thread is closed...

Backing Up Everything

Apologies if this appears elsewhere but I have looked without success. If it does then a link to the solution would be great.
Basically I found this site a few weeks ago and since then have been tinkering with my phone. I've tried various roms, added different programs, played about with the settings and so on. Today I have finally got it just how I want it. It is overclocked to run quickly but safely. The today screen is perfect. It contains everything I need including my huge list of contacts. And my theme is spot-on. However usually in life when everything is right something big and hairy appears out of nowhere and dumps on you. Its got to the point where I panic every time I turn it on just in case it crashes and I need to start all over again.
My question therefore is if anyone knows of a utility (or can give detailed instructions) to completely back up the phone. Right down to the user settings, theme and contacts. If possible maybe even to create a rom image of my phone so that if it does ever crash I can reinstall the whole thing from one simple file. I assume this sort of thing must be possible because Kavana and Ricky produce such wonderful roms with various programs, etc pre-installed.
Can it be done? And if so - can it be done by an enthusiastic amateur or do you need to be a tech guru? I should add I don't mind paying if I need to buy a piece of commercial software to achieve this.

Did you even bother to search google for "smartphone backup" ? The very first link that comes up, takes you right to the software you say you need. I apologize for being harsh, but I hate the lack of common sense...
An option
Not sure about the cooked 6.1 Roms. Maybe someone else might know or have tried.

I use this and it's well worth it.
if u just mean the saved registry values and what not u can always export the registry so that way if u have to hard reset the phone or if a new amazingly wowlike rom is released and u NEED to flash u can always import the registry values of the chomes and it'll be the way u left it (thats what I do for my myfaves and my programs)

No problem, and you are entitled to your opinion. however its replies like that which stop people making posts to forums like this. Everyone has to start somewhere, and one man's obvious "common sense" answer is another man's dilemma.
As for using google... yep I could have done that but google links to hundreds of pages, some owned by people trying to sell software which obviously means they won't be objective. Others have methods which could damage a phone and because I don't know the writers how do I know which methods to trust? Ergo I decided to come to site I know, with people whose technical knowhow I trust, and to search the forum and then ask them for advice. To me, that is common sense. Isn't that one of the reasons that places like this exist? So non techheads can ask guys like you for help?
No offence intended and, for what its worth, you are one of the guys whose advice on this forum has helped me countless times. So thank you for that no matter what. Without your posts I'd never have got this far in the first place! I mean that.
As for the other replies... thanks guys. I will look into the registry stuff. And I will certainly check out the software link. If I do find some info on google, I hope you folks will help me pick the best method to use and avoid bad advice.
Thanks again.

Okay the Sprite software is perfect. And now I've checked it out maybe my question was a stupid one. Still, its nice to have a recommendation from an independent source. I've been burnt in the past by bad google advice.
Sorry if I've wasted anyone's time.

Need help with my Wing / Herald I am a NEWB

Alright I am at a total loss right now. I am just got my hands on the T-Mobile Wing /Herald p4350, and it seems like one mighty piece of equipment. I want to do some unlocking/modding/hacking on the thing, but alas, I have no idea where to start.
I have seen some of the guides online, and they refer to programs I can't track down.
I see this HTC Home program, but have no idea how to run it.
HTC Home
Overclocking, sure, I do it with my computer and my PSP, but THIS baffles me. I would like a new home screen.
I want to know why the hell my phone only has 3MB of available memory.
I don't know how to mess with the registry.
Where are my temp internet files, and how do I clear them?
And it seems like none of these things have newb's guides. I dont even know where to being, and when I think I have found it, I need to find and do something else first to get it to work.
Any help that could be provided would be great. And just because I am completely lost at this, does not mean I haven't done this KIND of thing in the past.
Thanks to everyone!

[Q] Sideloading Apps

Are there any?
Windows Phone 7 is already open to homebrew applications.
The chevron tool unlocks the device, but to anyone that isn't a developer there seems to be no point to this.
The question is are there any sideloading applications readily available for us non-developing members? Or should I, for now, leave my device locked.?
(And to all you Devs making Apps keep up the good work. And dont let excited people like me rush you )

Yes I have searched...
And the best i could find was infact the same information, that being that the chevron App unlocks it.
Thanks for the help...
So far the only really useful capability we've unlocked is the ability to do networking. Someone used that to make a webserver, which is cool, but the average user probably won't be too interested in it. We're still working on unlocking a lot of other things, though.
The best thing to do is to hop in, learn to program, and start coding yourself! With a weekend, you should be able to make something fairly basic and nice.

[Q] Virtual Phone Help

Just ordered my HDH and over the past couple of days, viewing the themes and screenshots on the forum, I've become seriously insterested in creating something 'more for myself' if you like. However, like I said, my phone has only just been ordered. I'm really anxious to get the ball rolling, anyone have any idea the easiest way to go about this?
Any kind of virtual HDH or some kind of theme viewer I can use to assist me in getting what I want done that little bit easier?
Thanks in advance.
install the android sdk, and when set up correctly you have yourselve a virtual android device, i hasten to say i've never gone this far into it, where you can install apps etc etc
Thanks for the reply, I actually installed this prior to my post, haven't got the foggiest on how to use it, I've 'created' the virtual phone, loaded it up to the point where I've got the screen on the left and the buttons on the right but that's as far as it goes. I can't seem to gain any more control over it...
have you read the instructions here?
Think I'll leave it, after reading a couple paragraphs I decided enough was enough. Thanks very much all the same ghostofcain!

[Q] KIN TWOm New menu.

How can I get a new menu look on my KIN TWOm? I mean like and android or windows phone seven?
Well, you jailbreaked your Kin two, so you could tell us how to make new things instead.
Im confused what are you asking me?
Oh I get what your saying. I jailbroke my old one and that broke its software and I couldnt write any sort of patch to fix it so I got a new one and didnt do it again. Also Im not very good at making programs for mobile devices.
Im curious does this only work over wifi? I always get a timeout error when I try this. By the way Im fairly new here but have an extensive knowledge of programming. I also was able to jailbreak my kin twom

^^ this.
if you know how to do that, you know how to create new things for it . don't you?
In any case, you can't imagine how many times, "it was broken" after hacking it.. here.... no more drama, no more drama... huuum
your answer is in my post above.
Yeah, pretty much mine to
The answer is as you would expect: you cant change anything on the phone.
I figured. Also your droid menu wont work on my kin do you have any suggestions?
Any suggestions on what to try?
