Say, if i do emails on my tp2, i send the email out and forget to bcc me, i forward the email to myself separately. I only get my signature without the full contents. Wondering if this is normal??
Is there any way we can configure the client or alternate programs to like pull emails like from 9am to 6pm instead?
Kinda like Nokia's default email client on e71s, i can choose when and how to download emails. And at the same time have an option to automatically send me a copy of the emails.

EDIT: Is this a known thingy? Will wm 6.5 be addressing this issue?
1. When I forward mails, the entire message is included. I can think of 2 reasons why this isn't working for you.
a. You use Windows Live email (ie Hotmail) and you didn't toggle on the setting in Windows Live to include original message when replying/forwarding.
b. You've only set to download the email headers. You need to download the full message from the server before forwarding to include the whole message.
2. You can schedule your email push/pull between specific times of the day only if you use Windows Live or Exchange.
I know many people like to bcc themselves on all emails but you can just check the Sent folder as an alternative. I guess it's just a matter of preference...
My work email is primative pop3/smtp.. I'm using the default messaging on the htc touchflo3d, not the windows live.

Have tried to use download entire email messages... still the same.. when i forward the email out.. it goes until only my signature.. does not forward the entire message

I was wondering that perhaps it may be because you're connecting via POP3. But this doesn't appear to be the case. I just tested setting up my Gmail account via POP3 and I can forward messages just fine.
After you tap on "Forward", you should be taken to a compose screen where you type in your recipients. If you scroll down, do you see the original message in full?
thats the thing... i can see the whole email in full.. theres teh "edit original sender's message" thingy...
but when i actually click send.. it only send out the portion i typed.. -.-
I have sent my phone in for service b4, updated software, hard reset... all the same... maybe i'll try my gmail and update again..
What happens if you tap the part thatt enables you to edit the original message before you send?

tested with Gmail and yahoo... by configuration, both uses imap on the client..
tested with my other personal email from isp... think i found a pattern..
If i forward from inbox.. everything ok..
If i forward from sent items... only what i type is sent...
i didnt test on imap.. deleted my account.. anyone got any observations??

hello all, i seem to be having a problem with my e-mail in TF3D and was hoping someone would be able to help me...my problem is this, 1, whenever i read an e-mail in tf3d(not opera) it does not register in my actual yahoo acct that it has been read (or deleted for that matter)...also, whenever i send an e-mail using my TF3D (again, not opera) it does not register anywhere on my phone or at the actual yahoo site that i have sent a message...it doesnt appear in sent folder, draft, outbox etc...its like the message was never sent bc theres no visual proof (but the recipient always gets the message even tho its not showing up)...im hoping someone can help me fix these problems bc i love using the tf3d email tab, but i need proof that i sent and received/read this messages...any help would be greatly appreciated
I suppose that your Yahoo account is either setup either via POP3 or IMAP on your device. If you used the HTC Mail Setup wizard, then it's most likely IMAP. Anyway, the point is you're using a pull method to retrieve your mail (as opposed to push).
When you read or delete email from your device, Yahoo doesn't know that. So, that's why it doesn't show up as read/deleted when you check your email via a web browser.
Solution: after you've read or deleted any emails from your device, tap "Menu" and then "Send/Receive".
By default, when you set up email accounts on your device, only the inbox is synchronized with the server. If you want to see items in your "Sent" folder, you'll need to manually set that up. Luckily this is very easy.
Solution: In your inbox, tap "Menu", then "Tools", and then "Manage folders...". Toggle on the folders accordingly.

hey, forst of all i just want to thank u for not only your quick response, but also for your thorough explenation...the only problem is, IVE TRIED BOTH RECOMMENDATIONS!!! (NOT MEANT AS YELLING, MORE LIKE FRUSTRATED)....as far as the deleted messages, i figured that would "update" yahoo so i "resent/rereceived" the messages so it would (hopefully update) but it didnt work...also, nothing is showing up n the sent folder that your talking about on either the phone or on the actual website...its crazy, i really dont understand it...and yes, i do have the little option about saving a copy of sent messages n sent folder checked...any other ideas???
I think I would delete the account and then set it up again manually. Try different port numbers. Better yet. Forward everything to gmail and use it instead. push is awesome (except attachments still don't work right, but imap is easy too).

If i create appointments on the phone and save them, they are put in outlook out box and not sent. I ave gmail imap setup and cant seem to get it to take over for the calendar. Current rom in sig

This will setup an Exchange-like server and will enable you to do that. At least I am pretty sure that isn't what you are already doing, because this will setup the email and sync Calendar, Contacts and Email with PUSH. Let me know if you need any help.

Part of the issue is resolved. We can now add to the calendar and it sends the email to those attendee's we add to that event, thru our gmail accounts. How i fixed that was going into the office folder and using the calendar link in there. In menu/tool/options, appointments page, there is a "send meeting requests via: (email account)". I just changed it from outlook email to our gmail account. So now it sends them out with the gmail account rather than sitting in the outlook outbox.
THE NEXT ISSUE is that when anyone sends you a meeting request, from outlook(pc) OR from the phones calendar thru gmail, if you recieve that request on the phone, there are no buttons to "accept/tentative/decline/propose new time", like there is in outlook pc. It just comes in as a regular email that looks very useless. The only way to accept or decline is to read the email in outlook on the pc where you have buttons "accept/tentative/decline/propose new time".

Actually, I did understand the issue.
You aren't setting the email up correctly. If it is showing up as Gmail, and not Outlook it isn't setup for Exchange. You need to remove that account and follow my link to setup Exchange features...
Im not following you on this exchange stuff. What does an exchange have to do with poutlook not showing an email with the same options as outlook on the pc?
ok i just set this up on phone. active sync on phone says attention required.
result: the config on your exchange server prevents you from sync'ing. please contact your serv admin.
BUT getting and sending email is working right. Syncing is working for email.
Creating a calendar event and adding attenees is not working at all now. The emails never go out. Sending an event to myself from my wifes phone somes into the phone the (no good). But comes into my outlook pc correctly
Setting up sync has its own issues. I sent an event from my phone to my wifes phone. Oh joy, i get an html page i can accept with on her imap email.
I accepted it on the wifes phone and it NEVER went onto her calendar on the phone. Which leads me to beleive she must have sync setup too. What a joke!!!!!
It would be so much easier if google mail would include the MS office option buttons for reading and responding to event emails.
Not only that, but now i have to create events either on the phone, or in google cal. I can not setup events in outlook and have them all sync UNLESS i pay and use google apps.
Google has a big problem with MS. If i send an event to a google account, if i read that event email in gmail, its also striped of any way to open or respond.
The way this works best if WANTING to use gmail and outlook, while still wanting to use outlook for events cal, is to only reply, respond or accept events within outlook on the pc.

You have to ONLY select Contacts, Calendar and Mail. Try that and let me know if you still get that Att Required... Also, if all else fails I can give you my email and we can test it that way.

I have noticed a strange thing with Exchange mail app. When I send my e-mail it does send it but, however, saves the message as a draft as well. After some time my DRAFTS folder is becoming a copy of my SENT ITEMS which is a bit annoying. Does anyone experience the same / has any cure for that?
Second "bug" is when I try to reply a facebook notification. Now, when I post a photo on FB and someone leaves a comment ot that, I receive an E-Mail notification like "John has commented on your photo...", and in the message body it says: REPLY TO THIS E-MAIL TO ANSWER THE COMMENT. It has always worked for me using Outlook, webmail, WinMobile-outlook-mail (and it still does) to hit the "Reply" button, type smth thus leaving a comment. However, no comments are left if I try to "reply" on "John's comment" using my Desire.
Any clues?

I guess the two problems may be related. Are the Facebook replies going out through your Exchange account?
To diagnose the first problem, can you see if the Exchange server is logging any errors? Get your system administrator (if it's not you) to check the application event logs, while you're doing a send/receive.
I have the first problem - intermittently any mail I send is also saved to the drafts folder and its a little annoying. Personally I don't believe the second problem is related in any way at all...

I have the first issue when using my office email account. We use Lotus Notes and the interface between the device and the Domino server is Commontime software, using Activesync client on the device.
Commontime advise that this is only an issue with Android 2.1 devices as the outgoing mail is not stamped with a Posteddate field.
I also have a Hotmail account on the Desire, and I do not get the "sent -> drafts" syndrome with that account.
Deleting and re-adding accounts is fixing problems for some people. I would suggest delete, reboot, re-add.
Already tried that but didn't work.

--or, in the case of Lotus, the logs from Commontime.
Sometimes answers or new mails ends up staying in draft.
I've found out that on some e-mail addresses it takes the domain away.
[email protected] becomes [email protected]
On both answers and new ones. And it can be one out of two...
Any ideas?
Not sure if this is android or the email app problem. the sgs does not allow me to respond to meeting invites. I have to save to calendar manually. Anyone knows?
I have the same problem. Could not find a way to send an invite for an appointment, either. The email client needs some polishing ;-)
Here is my wishlist
1. Notification about incoming mails even if they are sorted into a subfolder (Server-side rules with my Exchange Server)
2. Improvement in how the folders are displayed. I've got subfolders of subfolders. All that is not presented very well. Maybe have separated views for folders and emails.
3. The invites issue solved as mentioned above.
4. I would like to have unread messages to be better distinguished from already read mails.
Maybe froyo is bringing all that to us

I guess this is a general problem with the build in email client of the sgs. I read in other forums that will be solved by froyo.
In the meantime i am using Touchdown Exchange Client. This client looks great the push mail function works properly - the only issue is the low performance.

Hey guys I am not sure if this will help you but I too had the same problem I downloaded the app from the market called ICS-Bot and it reads the attachment coming in. I am not sure what email account you are using but what I did was have any emails going to my corporate or/pop3 account from my work and I set a rule up that will forward any email with the subject titled Meeting in it and have it forwarded to my gmail account and once it arrives it will be read as an .ics file where you can preview it and set it up on your calendar. The downside is that you cannot edit or send a response back but you can inout the event onto your calendar and set reminders, I know it is not what we want but at least you have the event in your calendar, hope this helps.
