Netflix now supports the Droid Incredible 2 look in the market
Found this and thought I should share

This patch will replace effectively the entire media library stack with a newer version, allowing Netflix to function on Gingerbread ROMs. The patch does not contain the Netflix apk itself, just the libs to fix playback. As far as I know, the patch WILL NOT work on Froyo.
Several folks on IRC confirmed the patch works. However, I recommend a Nandroid backup before applying the patch. Worst case, you can re-install your ROM to revert the changes. No wipes or anything are needed.
Enjoy!

Explanation: Netflix officially realeased for 5 devices because those are the ones that the devs tested with. They knew there would be issues with untested devices (fcs, crashes, no video/sound, etc) so they coded the app to refuse to play on anything but the tested 5. All this hack does is circumvents that restriction by making the app think you are on one of the supported ones. There some devices which seem to work fine with the app but were never tested by the devs. Such devices as the nook color, the LG optimus S/V. These work perfectly after this while others still may have problems.
0) Root is required. Make a Nandroid backup! (I accidentally deleted by build.prop file and bootlooped my phone)
1) Download ES File Explorer (Or any other root file editor)
2) In ES File Explorer, go into Setting > Root Settings and enable both check boxes
3) Navigate to /system/ and copy/paste build.prop to /sdcard/ (just in case)
4) Open & edit /system/build.prop
5) Change the following lines to make your phone think it is a HTC G2:
ro.product.model=HTC Vision
ro.product.manufacturer=HTC
OR
ro.product.model=Nexus S
ro.product.manufacturer=samsung
6) Reboot the phone
7) Install the netflix apk (if you haven't already)
8) Enjoy
I tested this on my LG Optimus V running AOSPCMod v20110427 (Android 2.3.3). Before this, it told me that my device is not supported, now I'm watching 30 Rock episodes over 3G. I did not come up with this, I stole it from some posts on xda and compiled a nice step by step guide. I take no responsibility for screwing up your phone.
Good luck and Enjoy

Hmmm i got the app running but i only get a blank white screen when im streaming. sound comes through and everything though...

Isn't it problematic though that we don't have perm root on the I2 yet?

Personally , I would wait for Netflix to update their app within a few days and then the Dinc 2 should be supported by it.

ive tried an apk from my incredible, audio plays but no video, i also tried the hacked apk floating around with same results. (no video just audio)

Yeah like I said before we should just wait for Netflix to support the DInc 2

Waste of time and energy. Its more involved than simply changing your buildprop. When it comes down to it, it involves screen res, size, stagefright etc... Sucks. Believe me I know. I have a TB and we are pulling our hair out over this in the Thunderbolt forums!
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App

Anyone have any idea when it might be supported for the DInc2?

They said that there's an Official Netflix update on the 20th, so I'm hoping that it's bringing support to the Inc2/IncS

So I guess the Official Netflix update didn't effect us.....

Do we have any idea when this is coming? I miss my netflix, which I had on the inc 1..

I am also curious about progress with this.
I just got an Inc2, yesterday, and got the 2.3.3 leaked update for it. I can't get video to stream with netflix, just the audio.

[Mod/Fix] [CM7] Tango Video Calls: Switch from FFC to Back Camera.

NEWEST TANGO WORKS WITH ALL 2.3.4 ROMS! IF IT DOESN'T, TRY THIS!
Okay, so for those who are having a problem with people seeing you upside down or you can't switch cameras on Tango Video Calls, here's the way to fix that.
Credit:
KinnySwaggg(Me) - Posted fix
Zinx - Discovering Fix
my2sense - Adding "ro.product.model" change
coupetastic-droid - Finding old Tango
CyanogenMOD Team -For being awesome at what they do!
Things you need:
- Root Explorer from the android market ( or search on Google. I do not leak)
- Tango Installed
If the new Tango doesn't work, here is the an old version http://tinyurl.com/3em4upo. (Credits to coupetastic-droid)
Instructions:
- Go into Root Explorer and allow root privileges
- Go into the system folder
- At the top, press mount R/W
- Then hold down on "build.prop" and open with text editor
- Find ro.product.manufacturer and change HTC to Samsung.
- Find ro.product.model from HTC Glacier to Nexus S
- Save and Quit
- Reboot device
- Go to Tango and test the video call with a friend and you should be able to switch cameras.
Thanks for reading!

Yes I think so. This is related to Tango not necessarily the ROMS, Since Tango is the alternate to qik it was upside down but just changing the Mfg to the samsung makes it work. Probably something to due with the Nexus S as it has 2.3 GB installed and HTC does not.

MyTouch 4G - Tango - Still Upside Down
T-Mobile MyTouch 4G
Cyanogenmod 7 (Stable)
Android Gingerbread 2.3
so far the front camera is upside down still, when i tried the "root explorer" fix and rebooted, it just made the camera on my end black so i couldn't see my own face but the person on the other end still saw me upside down.
So I just changed the entry from Samsung back to HTC and saved and exited and rebooted once again. No Dice
This mod does not work if you have the latest update of tango because its not just a rom issue. Is both the rom and tango I believe. The only fix is to download the older version of tangon

Really? It was working for me (both front and rear cameras) today but I was using tango with my friend's iphone4. I've seen both the black screen and the upside down on my MT4G playing with one or the other changes but works for me when I tried both.
Or maybe I was more drunk than I thought!

This is not related to Tango but I just wanted to report that these changes works for me on the latest Fring (with 4 users). I tested this out with other android/iphone users.
If tango doesn't work for you, you may want to try Fring. Of course, YMMV.
Currently on nb58, Faux CFS-LV 2.5.2
Here you go everyone. For those who still need the old version to make tango work properly.
Uninstall the newer version before installing this one.

Working Hulu with adobe flash 11.1 [12/26/11]

I only take credit for finding these files and making some sence out of it.
First you have to uninstall the current version of Flash , I like to use Titanium Backup to wipe cache and uninstall, but you can do this from Setting Applicaton.
****Updated 7-16-12***
Watching Amazon Instant Videos and Hulu on your SII with the ICS update. Simple... You'll have to use Dolphin Browser and the updated ICS Adobe Flash. See the downloads below. I've never had and luck with Amazon Instant Video player or getting in registred on ICS, but with my Prime memberhip, Dolphin Brower, and updated Flash for ICS, I can stream my Prime Videos.
***This is not a Hulu plus subscription or a hack for it, all this does is trick the web site into thinking you are on something else other then a Andriod device.***
You have to be rooted…
So get rid of Adobe Flash by clearing data and uninstalling.
Once Adobe flash has be uninstalled reboot.
Now Install the new Adobe flash 10.3,
Once installed, reboot
Now install the Hulu APK and or Dolphin Browser
After you launch the program you'll see the black square just click on it and it take some time to load
After the ads your video should start.
*** Added Huluifed Adobe flash 10.3 and 11.1 you can try either one. I tested both and they worked for me***
A good combo is 10.3 and Dolphin browser with the following setting, this way you can have all the options that the website has.
However I'm running the Huluified 11.1 and the Hulu.apk, and it's working great.
Adobe flash 11.1 and dolphin browser works you have to allow for pop us and manually click on the ad so that you can get through them. Then the video will start, if you find a better work around let me know, plus it was hit or miss.
My Dolphin Brower Setting
1) Set flash to always on.
2) Set User agent to Desktop
3) Keep Screen On
4) Enable plug-in always on
5) Load Images
Adobe Flash Hulified10.3
Adobe Flash Hulified11.1
*** updated Adobe Flash Hulified for ICS***

not sure we'll get good performance on the phone, unless you are on WiFi

Why do you need the Hulu app? Can't you just watch it from the website using the hacked version of flash? Besides, don't you need a paid account to use the Hulu app?
Hulu is free, go to the http://www.hulu.com/ website for details
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.hulu.plus
Yes, but doesn't hulu from any mobile device(read phone out tablet) require a hulu plus subscription?
I thought the whole hacked flash thing was so hulu thought you were accessing their site from a desktop.

I have been running Hulu Plus on my setup since day one. The secret is to use backup files from a working phone and those files are in the Titanium Backup folder on your SD card. Then it works like a charm. I have BOTH Netflix Paid member and Hulu+ running nicely. Wifi it's awsome. Or you will really need to be an a decent 4G minimum 2 bar area not to run into issues, such as buffering, freezes, etc. Also, on some ROMs they throw in the ad free app. Ad Free can cause issues. I believe if you set it up to revert back to stock, it won't be an issue. This particular I just looked and on my setup the Ad Free app from BigTinCan.com is set up with a check box to use 127.0.0.1. Now Hulu+ will not be interfered with. I uploaded my original files from July to Hotfiles.com download mirror.
http://hotfile.com/dl/138466459/0630641/Hulu_Plus_Tit_Backup_Files.zip.html
Unzip and then place THREE files here in your Titanium backup folder that should be on your SD card. Then simply restore Hulu + and you should be all set.
ENJOY!!
EDIT!!!!!!!!
YES!!!!I am a paid registered member for each site. You will be able to basically get to the home screen and it will ask you to log on, so unless you have a paid membership, don't waste your time. I like it a lot, since it remembers where I was watching at home and on the road if stuck ina dr. office etc, I can log back on and just resume from where I left off. This method does NOT enable users to hack on to Hulu+ and pirate use anything. It just basically fakes you phone into thinking the device is supported. Eventually, they do catch up. I had to use this method on my Sensation before the SGS2. Eventually support did come to the Sensation I believe wrt Netflix. Not sure if Hulu+ is supported yet.

Well just got curious looked in the hulu+ app supported phones list an now they support three Samsung phones, the nexus s, galaxy nexus, and the sgs 2.
They released the update the 23 June. Now I don't know if anyone knows this in the forums but I'm glad to upgrade from hulu+ 1.0.116 that I got from my wife's sensation over a year 1/2 ago for my vibrant.
Cheers all

FAQ
Q. My wifi tether doesn't work? Why?
A. Dont know. Download Barnacle Tether from the market, that reportedly works.
Q. My market doesn't work. How do i fix?
A. Read above, follow those instructions and it will work.
Q. Why isn't market or Gmail etc installed?!
A. You have to flash GAPPS from above, then they all will appear
Q. Why is it so slow?
A. It isn't. At the start it may be, but let it settle in. Also, it is only at 1GHZ, and on the interactive governor. Go to Rom Toolbox and swipe left to performance and select cpu sliders. I recommend it being at 1.3Ghz and either ondemand or performance. Make sure to set it on boot.
Q. Why does my "?" not work?
A. It does. you have to click FN+X for ? (G2 users: ALT+X) If you want, you can flash OdiemanSAM's latest kernel in his thread, and it fixes the "?" button, but the home button doesnt work, so i left it out.
Q. Does this have Hardware Acceleration?
A. Yes and no. We have a hardware acceleration hack enabled, but its not true hardware acceleration, which is why GTalk doesn't work. We are close to true hardware acceleration, and when we have it, it will be FAST.
Q. Why doesn't GTalk work?
A. It needs hardware acceleration apparently. Look at the question and answer above
Q. Do i need to fullwipe between updates?
A. No, but it is highly recommended. If you dont, you may not get all the features/fixes of the update, and my run into issues
Q. Why doesn't my Facebook sync contacts?
A. This isn't because of some glitch or anything. Google disabled it in ice cream sandwich due to "violations" or something
Q. Why doesn't Flash Player work?
A. As of 16/12/11 it hasn't been updated for Ice Cream Sandwich

two things, one I don't see the youtube videos (unless my comp is being really weird :S) and two judging from the pictures I'm guessing you don't have a way to make keyboard close? If not do the function keys or for that matter any keys on the HW keyboard work?
Thanks for the work though can't wait to try it!
Embedding is broken by the looks of it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GZHY0S2HAU
Edit:
So it boots in to portrait and then almost immediately switches to landscape because its seeing the HW keyboard as always open?
Awesome work man! Thanks for taking the initiative, finding this and porting for those of us "Visioners" itching to sink our teeth into a working version of ICS! I can't wait to download tomorrow morning! Also, I couldn't care less at this point whether the hardware keyboard works, I am just glad to have a functional version to play with.
I suggest all hit xT4Z1N4TRx's "Thanks" button for for this!

[MOD] CirclesMod for Galaxy Nexus

So of course I had to get a Galaxy Nexus. After having stared at its unimaginative statusbar icons for a few days, I felt there was a certain, circular aspect missing from its UI, so I took a deep breath and fired up Photoshop. I've kept the style similar to my previous versions of CirclesMod, but the icons are completely redrawn to make use of the Nexus' higher display resolution, and also incorporating some of my ideas from the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Looks like this ...

The most convenient way to get the Mod is via the Play Store, if you're running CyanogenMod 9, AOKP, Gummy or another ROM that incorporates the CM9 Theme Engine... I'm in the process of converting my themes to this format.

My website holds all other versions, and I encourage you to bookmark this link, if you want to keep track of my Galaxy Nexus downloads

Disclaimer zero: I'm pre-supposing that you already know what to do with flashable zips, and that you accept responsibility for your own actions. Use your head, keep your device backed up and so on and so forth
Disclaimer one: You're welcome to modify or repurpose my work as long as it's not generating income and I'm credited with a link to either http://circlesmod.dk or this thread.
Disclaimer two: As for updates and versions, I'm not gonna do massive change logs and follow seven forums to cover the "market". I can't and won't spend all my waking hours building for any and every half-hourly KANG out there, so I'm inclined to pick one or two major ROMs and support that... I'm inclined to spend most of my time maintaining my Play Store theme(s) as it allows me to hit the greatest amount of devices with the least amount of effort...
Disclaimer three: I have the European GSM variant, also known as Maguro. Assume that my builds are for the GSM version. When in doubt, ask.
This looks awesome. I am too nervous to try it on Android Revolution HD 2.1.0 but if anyone else gets it working let me know!

And Hooolm arrives. Welcome mate, great jobs
I'm probably gonna try out Revolution too...I'm holding out for them fixing that reboot-while-plugged-in-equals-sleep-of-death-bug
Long term? Oxygen or CyanogenMod. In that order

Don't go out of your way to support ALL the ROM's because I can guarantee alot more ROM's coming soon. I'm sticking with supporting MoDaCo (Which I'm doing now) and Android Revolution.
Awesome, I loved your work on the SGT. Going to try this out on Android Revolution 2.1.1. That has been my favorite ROM so far.

Looks to be working pretty good on Android Revolution 2.1.1. This does have the search and menu button mod from Modaco for anyone wanting to flash this.

Just installed this on Madaco's IR6. Also I'm using BRD Launcher 2.0 which is optimised for 240 DPI and it works great. One thing i have noticed is that when charging the yellow lightning bolt flashes twice displaying the percentage in-between very second. (Not sure if thats a feature or a bug) just thought i'd mention.
Is there any chance we could get a modded airplane symbol to?
Hooolm,
What app are you using to extract, zip, decompile & compile the apk.
Tried apktool yesterday, but had lots of troubles.
Wouldn't mind using it on 74K

Oh, I won't Since there isn't a stock Samsung or stock Sense ROM for the Nexus lines, people will tend to gravitate towards something like CM9, which suits me juuuust fine

Yeah, that was just part of the particular framework I baked for myself at modaco.com. Somehow I didn't think I'd like having my main action buttons jump around on me
As for AndroidRevolution, I'm a little bit intimidated by ROMs that want to completely reformat my device. I like having an easy exit strategy...having said that, people seem to be very content with that ROM.

Sure, although creatively there isn't much to do with that except slap an airplane over a circle
As for the charging flashing pattern, you're right - the xml is a leftover from one of my galaxy tab themes, where the lightning bolt would flash over the numbers like this...
That effect doesn't really work with the ICS overlay, it's just that one little thing I forget to change every time I build

Hey
I'm using APK Multi-Tool, specifically the nightly builds downloaded from GitHub. Works straight out of the box, just remember to register framework-res.apk, even though most of the magic is in SystemUI.apk.
Please make it available for 4.0.3 Galaxy Nexus GSM . This is super cool!!!!!

Adobe Touch Apps [Sideload/Cloud Only as of 7/26/12]

Has anyone heard whether Adobe Photoshop Touch or any of their other tablet apps making it to the N7?
Was super pumped to blow my $25 credit on them, now I am disappoint.

I have a cloud subscription. Can you tell me where to download the Proto apk?

If I use stock 4.1.1 and stock 4.1.2, I can see and install Photoshop Touch.
Anything other than stock, including using CM10 or AOKP roms, then I can see but cannot install Photoshop Touch with a message saying it is incompatible with my rom.
My solution was to install an old apk of the software (found on the web, any will do). Then, since I actually bought the app, it simply proposed me to update through the Store.

I must be doing something wrong. Attempted the same thing, I'm not rooted nor do I currently wish to be (long story there, I'll leave my Xoom to be the rooted one for now) but as it stands, this did not work for me.
Upon installation on 4.1.2, the market recognized Adobe Proto and Adobe Ideas were installed. I cannot get these to update via the store since they are still seen as incompatible with my Nexus 7. Great...
And I paid for those two.
[edit]
Just had an email response from Google Play regarding the purchase of the app and subsequently being unable to reinstall after a factory reset.
Here is what they wrote:
Hi Stephen,
Thanks for writing back. I do see that you've done a factory data reset. I'm sorry to hear you're still experiencing this issue. Apparently you were able to download the app before but it is correct that the app isn't actually compatible with the Nexus 7.
If you're still not able to find a certain app, please keep in mind apps that aren’t compatible with your device are hidden when you search for them on Google Play. Developers of Android apps can choose to filter devices based on a variety of criteria, including Android OS version, carrier, location, or even screen size. According to our records, Adobe Photoshop Touch is incompatible with your device because it doesn't match the developer's specifications on for the device's screen density.
Because you were able to purchase this app and are now unable to use it, I've gone ahead and filed this refund request on your behalf - you'll receive another email within 14 business days confirming that the request has been processed.
Thanks in advance for your patience, and if you have additional questions or if you don't receive a second email with this confirmation, please let me know.
Regards,
Eddie

Guess that answers one question, however I still can't understand how I was able to purchase it directly from Google Play. The app itself runs perfect on the N7, so maybe it's now up to Adobe to support our device....
Same here.. sideloaded it works perfectly fine...

I spent two+ hours last night trying to spoof my N7 as various compatible tablets so I could download it, and succeeded only in soft-bricking (fixed by reflashing OTA).
It looks like Google has closed some/all of the loopholes that used to allow you to fool the store. Nothing I tried worked.
with my current rom i am able to buy the app on the store. my rom is aosp based. no tweeks to the market that i know of. no build prompt changes. no idea what im doing right but it is not hidden or unavailable in any way for me
I'm on stock 4.2.1 and it shows up for me. 9.99

Yea they just recently updated it make it officially work on the N7. It's totally worth the money btw, Ive been using it since it was released and now that it can edit images up to 12mp it's SUPER useful.
