[Q] HDMI adopter - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Accessories

Hello everyone,
I just got my new 10.1v and was wandering where I could find an hdmi adopter.
Is there a docking station with hdmi out or something?
Thanks a lot

I think we'll have to wait for the 10.1 and have to hope that the accesoires are compatible

All of the cables from the original Galaxy Tab work with the 10.1v (according to a Samsung rep in Australia), including the composite video out. Hopefully this means the cables for the 10.1 will work with the 10.1v too.

thanks guys,
probably stupid question, but do you know when these cables will be available for the 'original' tab?

I think they are already available and have been for some time.
Anyway, it looks like an HDMI adaptor for the 10.1 is on its way:

I would bet these work fine with the 10.1v - though until they are released, we won't know for sure.

Will the 30 pin one from the Galaxy Tab 7 work?

Just got my Tab 7 inch HDMI dock in the post today - can confirm it works with the I/O 10.1 Tab
...there is already a youtube video from someone else showing this working, so search there if my good word is not enough for you!
Was just playing some Mario Kart 64 with my Datel Retro Wireless controller on my 42 inch television. Nice!

Galaxy TAB 10.1 HDMI
Hi
Do you need to do any setup?
I have connect the HDMI connector for 10.1 to my tablet and connect the HDMI to my TV and could not see any signal
Any idea?

You have to plug the usb/ac cable to the adapter and power source to work. Just the adapter and HDMI cable doesn't work.

[Q] USB TV/AV Composite Cable

Hi
I found the following cable in DealExtream:
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/premiu...ble-for-samsung-p1000-black-134cm-cable-81876
AFAIK, Galaxy Tab 10.1 Connector is pin compatible to Galaxy Tab (7"),
do you think this cable will work also with Galaxy Tab 10.1?
99% chance of rain. Even though the 30pin connector will go into the unit. From my understanding, the only video out on the 10.1 is HDMI but no one yet knows how.
anyone tried this yet? Would be great to use with old CRT TV's!
According to the Samsung site its not compatible.
Here
Ordered this cable for my GT10.1 and received it yesterday, it doesn't work there's no video output.
But! There is audio output...
Yes you will get audio but no video. Only way to get video is hdmi adapter.

It's MHL. You need a MHL to HDMI chip. There are generic micro usb to hdmi ones you can buy then wire up to the pins in connector. Those cost $7.99 at cheapest and the connector is going to cost you $4.99 unless you gut an existing one and move the pins around
Have u try to connect it not in color code order... try it..

That one does not have a HDMI port. It does have a HDMI pass-through to connect it to a HDMI converter (sold seperately).

Excellent question, I've tried to find one without success.

I've read an accessories thread on this forum about other people dreaming the same thing. Remember seeing some circuit diagrams for the OTG + Charging option. Not a simple thing to do if you want to make sure you don't fry the tab and/or the USB device.
And as for running HDMI and OTG at the same time ... may require conflicting resistor values on certain pins. Damn you Samsung!

[Q] Galaxy Note 2 Dock Resolution Questions

Hello,
I received my GNII Samsung Dock today!!! I am having issues in regards to resolution.
I have a Acer A193W 19" monitor and a HDMI to DVI cable. When I hook it up to my AppleTV2 the output is perfect.
When I hook the same combination up to the GNII via the dock my resolution is stuck at 720x350 and needless to say looks horrible.
Does anyone have and tips or thoughts on how to resolve this issue?
Thanks for the help
Edit: Should I move this to The Accessories thread?
Any thoughts? Could it be that I need to go to a newer monitor with HDMI and not DVI?

We just can't use the MHL adapter that is specific for Galaxy S3 / S4.
The standard model (for Galaxy Nexys, Galaxy S2, HTC Evo 4G Tablet, HTC Sensation 4G etc) is the one that works perfectly.
I order this one from ebay, will post the results once received.

yup i have 2 different MHL adapters i bought some time ago. Both works great. Cheers :good:
I ordered an MHL adapter from Amazon this weekend, they delayed my order and when it was ready to ship they had a snag with my usual form of payment. But by the time I was ready to fix it, the Chromecast had come out.
I wanted the MHL adapter to stream HBO Go content to my TV, since there is no PS3 app and my Samsung TV doesn't have an app for it. With the Chromecast, it seems like this can be fixed by being able to push the content from HBO Go and other sources directly from my phone or my Chrome browser. Looks interesting, and for $35, it's worth a shot. I cancelled my MHL adapter order and placed a (late) order for a Chromecast.
We'll see.

I continued to play around with the MHL adapter. I noticed that the remote control of my TV does not control the ZL when connected. After some searches, I figured that the MHL adapter needs to be RPC/CEC compatible as well. I have a Samsung LED TV with have Anynet+CEC. I used to connect Xperia Arc over HDMI and was able to control from remote control. So when buying MHL adapter make sure it is RPC/CEC compliant!

Mirroring is only available in selected Sony Tvs..but cable can be used with any having an hdmi connection.
Quality wise not much of difference in video but audio is better via hdmi

Hello Venexiano,
Did you manage to get this cable to try out on the Xperia ZL ?
http://www.amazon.com/Menotek-Adapt...sation/dp/B005F9W6DU/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
I too, am looking at this cable. But, I don't want to buy it until I see someone reporting back on the forum if this is fully working with our Xperia ZL.
One particular user comment says this, which is a bit worrying:
Will NOT output 1080p. Only outputs in 720p.
Works ok on Gingerbread... But
ICE CREAM SANDWICH BREAKS THIS MHL ADAPTER.
If you plan on upgrading to ICS... DO NOT BUY.
Any advice/info is appreciated. Thanks.
Hey,
I did not buy any cable yet since I got no answer to my question. Please let me know if you find a solution that works. I might post this in some other forum and I let you know.
thanks

Thanks.

micro usb to HDMI Adapter

Has anyone one bought a micro usb to HDMI adapter that actually work with their tablet? I bought one and did not work so I'm hoping people can recommend a working one. I'm wondering about the MHL 2.0 To HDMI 1080P HDTV Adapter but have not seen any reviews mentioning whether it works on the Note 10.1 2014 edition. Thank you.

I am not sure if this option would work. But maybe Google chromecast would be a better solution. Wirelessly send media to TV through your network with it possibly.

chromecast is a great, inexpensive product but very limited compared to allshare or just using hdmi out.
i've rooted my chromecast and put it back in it's box in storage. that's all i've used it for so far.
