PDAir has Cases - Galaxy S II Accessories

PDAir has a bunch of different style cases available. I've always used their cases for my phones and they're high quality leather and very durable. I ordered the horizontal belt case and a gel and will post pics when they get here.

I had one of the horizontal belt cases for my G1 for almost a year, pretty good, in the end
the elastic at each end lost its elasticity!
The perfect solution would be a gel/semi-hard case over the SGS2 and a horizontal pouch??

Leather Sleeve for the Captivate?

I have this for my iPhone and I love it over any rubber/plastic case.
http://www.goincase.com/products/detail/leather-sleeve-es89025-b
Is there any similar leather sleeve, non plastic, non rubber case like my link?
Thanks.
PDair just released some new cases for the Captivate, and though not exact, is kind of along the same lines as the one you mentioned above:

Thanks. Those leather cases do look like what I want, except for those cover flaps. I may have to cut those off...

Waist/belt case - Holster

I was looking for a good belt case.
Seidio innocase is the best the market but they have not brought one out yet.
Hopefully they will bring one out , considering the popularity of this device.
Here is an example i am talking about

What is everyone using for belt. I like somthing that will clip on
My old case (previously for G1 and G8) is a nice fit for the GS2, it's Naztech Sahara.
However I have a cover on my GS2 so it no longer fits. The case I am after is Nite Ize Clip Case Sideways in Large part number CCSL-03-01, if i can get one shipped here at a good price.
I've used PDAir cases for years on my phones. They have a line for the SGS2.

I bought the horizontal pouch and a gel and both fit perfectly. Although the gel has a cut out on the right top corner for the Korean versions TV antenna. It doesn't bother me though.

Does the phone fit in the horizontal case with the Gel on the phone? I'm looking for a horizontal belt case and this PDAir one seems the best but I would like to have a thin matte or gel case on the phone as I found the phone quite slippery and easy to drop. T%he one I'm looking at is the "Leather Case for Samsung Galaxy S II GT-i9100 - Horizontal Pouch Type (Black)" from your link, is this the one you purchased?
This is the one that I finally ordered. Will review it once it gets here.

Looks interesting but one thing I should have mentioned I'm looking for is that the headphone jack should be accessible while in the case. The one you posted looks like it would be covered? Regardless, looking forward to the review and thanks for posting the link.

Agree. The PDAir cases are well finished and have already released their line of cases for the SG2. Another advantage is that their vertical belt case has the belt clip permanently attached to the case. It's a lot more reassuring knowing that it won't come off or unhook when brushed against.

TPU case review Belkin

Hey guys,
I got another case and went ahead and wrote a review for you. Its a glossy black tpu case made by belkin..Its thin, slick and comfortable. an ok case overall
Belkin TPU case Galaxy s2 - YouTube
I picked this one up when I got my SGS2, and I'm really impressed with it myself.
I've used cheap TPU cases from eBay on my other phones before, which, while decent, had fitting issues and a lot of flash (excess plastic) around the outside edges.
This Belkin TPU case is tight fitting, very little flash (two little tabs I found and removed with an xacto knife), and feels really quality in my hand.

Hows the grip on these?

Grip is decent.. Its tpu so the material itself even tho it looks pretty shinny still retains it grip. A matte finish will def be grippier however this case does it just fine
thanks for the review. the gloss just ruins the case for me. I ordered a TPU case on Ebay for $9 and it has matted back and a glossy edge. It also has very high rating on Amazon.
I also suckered in for the D30 at T-mobile store after reading many good reviews on it
I'm with you. I'm a matte case guy myself

[Q] Rubber sort of case, non-stick material?

Hi,
My friend showed me his iPhone case, and it was some sort of hard-ish rubbery clear stuff that doesn't get caught when you slip it into your pocket, etc.
I can't remember the name of the material, but it felt really nice and I really hope there is a version of it for the sgs2. Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks
The sticky, "traditional" rubber material is silicone, AFAIK.
The "modern", non-sticky material is called TPU, an abbreviation for Thermoplastic polyurethane.
You should find plenty of those cases on eBay or other platforms.

yes there are very cheap and good quality tpu cases, look for "s line" cases on ebay, are really well-made
I got this case for my S II and its nice. It fits perfectly and it feels nice.

Looks nice, But doesn't that make your slim SGS2 a bit thick ?
I recommend the Incipio NGP. One of the most solid cases I've ever used and not overpriced.
+1 for the Incipio NGP
Try this, very good case for S2

My second case was a white TPU case on my black phone, looked really good but after a while started turning blue from the dye in my jeans haha. So I bought another cheap TPU case from amazon, this time a clear but smokey black, looked really nice on the phone and didn't change colour.
The material I was thinking of was polycarbonate. I could only find a few that apparently use the material, and ended up buying an SGP case (on ebay here). I think its also available at www.sgpstore.com, because the box it came in had that link on it.
It's quite durable imo, nice and thin, doesn't take away from the sexiness of the sgs2. Overall it is one of the better cases I have bought.
Edit: it looks like it's just a cheap chinese rip-off of the sgp ultra-thin case. Found it cheaper here. Oh well, I'm happy to pay $5 extra if it comes in 2 days

[Q] Casemate Tough size vs Trident Aegis

Hey guys, I've been searching around and I can't find a definite answer. How much thicker is the Aegis compare to the Tough? I know the CM Tough doesn't cover the ports while the Aegis does. I have the TPU S, Casemate Pop, as well as the Bodyglove kickstand case currently.
aegis
Ive been running trident aegis for 5 months now. Its flat out amazing! It has flip open covers for usb and 3.5mm head phone jack. the phone is 150% protected. I have 4 batteries and 2 wall chargers so i remove the case daily for 5 months now and its still 99.9% new. Worth the money plus its tough and looks amazing
I actually just switched from the Aegis and went with the Casemate Tough Case. The Aegis, although a great case, was bugging me with it's thickness, super rubbery grip (hard to put into and pull from pockets), and the port covers irritated me too.
The Casemate has awesome grip without being sticky like the Aegis, it's definitely thinner and it feels SOOO much better in my hands. I'm pretty sure I'll be sticking with the Casemate for a long time.
maybe Ill sell the Aegis
Im using the aegis and the rubber isnt sticky. I like it but it does make the phone a bit thicker

I've used both the casemate and aegis extensively, and I'd have to say the casemate feels nicer and more premium overall. It offers the same protection with a slimmer profile.
However, the reason I got the aegis in the first place was because I got bored of the lack of color on the casemate.
At the moment, I'm using my basic TPU matte back black because it seems to be enough protection for work and I slip the casemate on when I head for the outdoors.
If you are into winter sports like snowboarding, I would get the aegis, because I lost my phone on the slope once and looking for a black case was challenging to say the least. The bright blue/red of the aegis would stand out easily against the snow.

I just ordered a casemate tough to replace my aegis so I will get pics up later thsi week if you are still deciding. I love the Trident case but lately it has been turning the phone off in my pocket. Apparently the power button works too good so a bit of pressure from normal activities is holding it down and turning off the phone.
Also, the Casemate Tough Case is $35 on their site. On Amazon brand new it's $18. BUT, I bought mine "open box" with a "like New" rating for $8 on Amazon! Those cheapy flexible TPU cases are more expensive than that.
It got shipped to me in it's original packaging and in brand new, flawless condition.

Cool casemate should be in tomorrow, I have tpu cases as well so I will take a few shots of all 3 together.
Case just came in and here are some side by side pics
Left to right trident aegis, casemate, tpu case
The casemate is basically right between the size of both cases. The main differences between it and trident is that the ports are not covered. Also the corners are hard plastic on casemate and soft rubber on Trident.
Specs
Threw in "penny factor" for reference... (b/c not everybody carries a caliper and scale in their back pocket )
Penny thickness: 3.5mm
Penny weight: 0.1oz
Phone weighs 4.6oz naked.
Notes:
Aegis is a little wider towards the top where the buttons are - 79.50mm
Corner protection - Aegis is thicker and is all rubber; Tough Case is thinner and a combination of plastic over rubber. The Aegis design relies on the thick rubber corners to absorb the shock whereas the Tough case relies on the shell distributing the load on the thinner rubber. Hard to tell which is better for corner drops (which is usually how/when screens are most likely to shatter - load concentrated over a small area) without some destructive testing. I can say that I've dropped the phone several time on hard warehouse floors from chest height with the Aegis with no issues.
Overall Protection - IMO, the Aegis provides a better overall protection due to the thicker rubber (at the corners as well as overall), hard case wrapping over the top and bottom (unlike the Tough Case) and port protection.
Screen protection ("lift") on the Tough Case is slighter higher.
Tough Case is much easier to get in and out of pocket.
Buttons on the Tough Case are flush; On the Aegis, the buttons protrude a little causing accidental power-ons.
Final thoughts:
Was using Aegis as my daily but am switching to Tough Case due to smaller size, lighter weight and ease of getting in and out of the pocket. Will keep Aegis for the weekend outdoor excursions. Both are quality cases.

Exactly the reason I just bought casemate. Also the power button on the Aegis stuck out farther and my pocket was turning off phone or waking it up with certain lockscreens.
